501  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] BlackCoin (BC) | on exchanges | PoS | No premine on: April 09, 2014, 09:49:16 PM
Than you...However, this is not about it going over 10,000. I want to know why is someone pushing the price down artificially. Everything I said I would do was done. But...A lot of BTC has been spent trying to keep BC from going below 9000 and it should be well above 10,000 now.

The market can stay irrational longer than you can stay solvent.

If I wasn't so tired this morning I would have recorded my screen and uploaded to YouTube. The sell orders were at 9600+ and there was a buy order for a 9550. Someone did a sell order for 9300 and it sent the price down very fast. From what I understand that is not suppose to happen but it did a few times. Many of you were still sleeping when this all was going on. Someone push BC down to nearly 9000 before a push was made to prop it up.

I noticed the same thing. There is a small chance it could have been just a mistake, someone wrote a wrong number in the price field.

Is it the beginning of a dump ?

No....it is someone or a group preventing BlackCoin from breaking 10,000. This happens every time we get this high. Why would someone sell for 9500 sat when they know BC is selling for 10,000+ on every other exchange.

and why?
they loosing money on this

Personal vendetta? Some doge millionaire in a cellar doesn't like the success of blackcoin...

There will always be room for competition and eventually Bitcoin will lose appeal because its POW model is not sustainable over time
It will probably gain in value due to the multi pool effect but not from anything else and the multi-pool support will be short lived once it's found to work because everybody will be doing it and everybody will be proof of stake and everybody will be investing 6 figure sums in marketing and everybody will have an amazing community.

It is technically impossible that everyone could do a similar multipool. I guess mintcoin could. And handful of other even more unknown coins. Would need to make a new coin...

I've got a few noob questions. Just started playing with Linux a few days ago.

How do I close Gekko? Is there some /exit command? Does it stay running in the background if I only close the terminal window?

What happens if I shut down my computer now and then? Does it save data into history?

What happens if I trade manually while Gekko is running?

What does the -v 1024 do in CPUMiner? I can't find any info and the minerd_help shows only the last page of commands. I haven't got an idea how to scroll it up. Whenever I press a button the window closes.

WU is low and you are not submitting stales. so left is only 2.7MH effective hash.

Why would one submit stales?
508  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Settings for Asus R280X DirectCU 2 TOP ? on: March 03, 2014, 01:13:37 PM
Before a mod deletes this post again. Yeah, I know there's plenty of threads of various 280X's but I'm looking specific settings for this particular model. A lot of conflicting info is around it and the some peoples settings seem very different than on normal 280X's.

I need help to get the most out of Asus R280X DirectCU 2 TOP -GPU. I've read that some people have gotten 800 kh/s easily. I'm getting around 735 kh/s, which is the same as with other R280's. But this is the overclocked TOP-model.

My settings for Cgminer:

setx GPU_MAX_ALLOC_PERCENT 65
setx GPU_USE_SYNC_OBJECTS 0
--scrypt -o stratum+tcp://xxx:xxx -u xxx -p xxx --thread-concurrency 8192 -g 2 -I 13 -w 256 --gpu-fan 55 --temp-cutoff 90 --temp-overheat 85 --gpu-memclock 1500 --gpu-engine 1070 --expiry 1 --scan-time 1 --queue 0 --no-submit-stale

Whenever I try to increase gpu memclock or gpu engine the kh/s is either the same or decreases. Even --gpu-engine 1160 --gpu-memclock 1800 --thread-concurrency 11200 with GPU_MAX_ALLOC_PERCENT 100 doesn't increase the Kh/s.

Any help appreciated.

The PoS is working great. Already two stakes in two days.

Is v.1.0.1 and 1.0.1-dirty the same newest client versions? When I write getinfo in the debug window it shows the "dirty" version.
