JGCMiner is obviously a troll. Also, +1 on listing this is the first post. Newbies should know the names of the blatant FUD'ers. Sorry if i come across as a troll, I do hold DRK. What annoys me is reading here all the posts about it getting to $300 or even $1000 like some are saying, I think it has the potential to reach $100 possibly, but i have a realistic approach. Im not trying to spread FUD, but i feel its wrong to give newbies false hopes and have people dig deep into their pockets into such a risky investment, which goes for all cryptos, and DRK is still dropping, which i was expecting, so what if it goes back to $2? It still has the potential to get up to $100 if it is indeed a solid coin. I intend to invest in more DRK, as well as NXT, MEC and other coins, its wise to not keep all your eggs in one basket and anyone with their head screwed on should agree. But im not going to panic buy DRK like what is happening at the moment. And yes, the "instamine" is a concern to me and it would be appreciated if i can get an explanation why the windows QT wallet was not released on launch. Again i still think this coin is a strong contender in the market for the short to mid term and it will easily topple litecoin sometime this year, but people like me need solid faith in this coin. Its silly to invest in something just because its going up in value. Ive read this person's activities here; i think yall should reconsider him(nzminer) from the troll list. from an outsiders point of view, he only brings up legitimate concerns. from my community's experience, giving these outrageous(maybe one day they won't be) price that it COULD be is an easy way to get burned later(its what we went through at BC) this is not a speculating coin, this is a USEFUL and valuable coin. let the coins utility speak the price for you. talk not of how much it will be towards the moon, but rather keep the good news coming,and innovations and developments streaming. Does anybody really use those "expected" prices as investment advice tho? I don't think nzminer is a troll, but that seems like an odd thing to take issue with. Price "predictions" happen in every coin's thread. Every coin's, including bitcoin's, value could drop to zero if enough random events come together -- I am not sure if hounding on that point is useful discussion. My view is that when there is a mass buyup of any coin, it will get dumped by alot for a quick profit, my realistic posts are valid that there will be a drop and what i predicted has happened, and its starting to get to a more stable price for the time being. Ive been called a troll because of this, but whats the difference between this and the other end of the scale saying its going to top 1K? Im not trying to rubbish DRK at all, i DO like it, but its not a get rich quick scheme like i can tell some people view it. Correct, it is a get rich slow scheme  |

About 1400 to date. My little computers are getting almost nothing anymore, so I'm about to retire them. I was going to try to last until the 25th, LOL, but turned my desktop off yesterday. It's so slow when mining! I have two nodes, and some extra I hope to pay some debt down with if it goes up a little higher. I have until the end of June to hold  Bloody hell. I only got half of that, but I only started a few days before the miner whale (not a small whale....a big miner). If only he hadn't turned up.... I stopped mining when it fell to about 7/8 a day. Oh why oh why? I could list another half dozen if onlys but at least I concentrated on buying at the time. You guys got a hell of a lot more then me. I started mining on Feb. 16th I think, I only mined 180, but this was with my regular pc and no extra investment so I'm happy with that. Man, I feel lucky. I came along in feb and ran 4 free microsoft azure trials, had never mined before and just followed a guide where people done it with doge coin. Over about 2 weeks I got around 700 drk then had no more credit cards to sign up for more free trials, now I wish I called extended family to borrow their credit cards lol. I've got 1025 today  the majority basically for free. |

I would say it's very diverse. I spent all week selling ALL my "other" coins for DRK. My weighted average is: 0.00801762 BTC/DRK = $3.5678 @ BTC to USD: $445.00$ I'm pretty sure we won't see DRK dip below this stated level, ever again. :-) Feeling really good :-)  I did this too, have $3000+ in DRK now |

Well, I am glad I didn't play my usual "sell before bed, re-buy at lower in my dreams" because this time it would have been limited to my dreams only. LOL. There is an additional factor in my predictions. A lot of people were publicly excited about DOGE during the P$D sessions on my country's biggest public nerd/tech-oriented forum. Everyone talked about it, everybody stated they bough in and/or started to mine DOGE and gained or lost during the events. There were also some mentioning of BlackCoin ever since. I started to talk about Darkcoin there when I bought in at 0.00135 (keep in mind that I presume I sound a lot more clever on my native language, I have an "over the average" education and I have tons of forum posts there, I even run a small but relatively successful business there for years) and nobody gave a f¤ck. Not even when DRK reached 10x price with an insane daily volume. I mentioned it again yesterday and the few who reacted made a conclusion that "it's a clever coin because it can't be mined anymore except it's own exchange multipool" and "may be we should buy some more BlackCoins then" (not a honest oversight, they actually thought I am speaking about Blackcoin or a new Blackcoin clone which is less interesting than Blackcoin). Total and absolute ignorance towards DarkCoin. (At least those who reacted and except one guy who I spoke with in private messages.) I can think of two possible conclusions: 1: those who choose to be a part of this really like privacy and will never state it publicly if they anything to do with DarkCoin ever (except when they will want to make business with it) 2: people are too wary of sh|tcoins and honestly doesn't give a f¤ck about DarkCoin, not even during those days when it dominates the altcoin market in daily share gains and volume But the volume is there, so...? In my experience people are so used to the shitcoin hype that when you mention darkcoin they straight away think its a pump and dump and dont get interested until they hear a few more people talk about it. This is the thing people slept on about Darkcoin is that it has an actual valuable function in it, they start to realise once more people post about it. |

MASTERNODE REQUIREMENT WILL ALWAYS BE 1000 DRK:Masternode requirements are going to be 1000DRK forever, for the following reasons: - We need a bunch of masternodes, but more is NOT better. They cause chatter on the network saying they're still around and more memory usage everywhere. It's also more processing for the nodes to figure which to use. - We want them to be reasonable expensive to start now and insanely expensive down the line. - This will cause a feedback loop which will create upward pressure on price of darkcoin even making it more expensive to start one of these in the future (I detail this concept here: https://darkcointalk.org/threads/darkcoin-update-masternode-requirements-masternode-payments.225/) - Every client on the network needs to keep a list of all of these, we don't want a list of 100k - 10k masternodes @ $1000 is the same thing as 50k @ $200. The only difference is a lower barrier to entry and lower end equipment. In either case it would cost a million to add enough nodes to see half of the traffic. - Also the clients need to download this list upon booting up - There's also a consideration for the masternodes themselves. We have 576 blocks per day, If there's 10000 master nodes that means they'll on average get paid once every month and a half. I feel like if that number goes any higher we'll have nodes that won't want to wait to recoup their investment. When will masternodes be brought down to 500drk each?  There is no plan to reduce the masternode price, sorry. I assume that if there was a problem keeping enough people interested in running masternodes, that the price would then be reduced. But if enough people continue to run them, it will not. Also, regarding an earlier question from someone, I believe Masternodes will earn 10% of all mining profits, so that means when fees are implemented to keep miners working, 10% will go to masternodes. Fair enough. Guess I better buy some more dark while its cheap. |
