501  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Requests Status Stuck Pending on: May 24, 2017, 04:13:39 AM
I don't think the status in the Requests tab really matters. As long as the coins are in your wallet, you should have control of them and the ability to spend them whenever you wish.

14 green in a row .. Tongue

14 greens in a row or even 20 or 30 greens are useless if you only betting with small amount. Imagine you were betting with 1 btc and you could won 14 btc

Its still nice to see 14 greens in a row! Everyone always show their long streaks of red but you don't see the green streaks posted as often so it is good to see.
503  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Could Bitcoin ever replace conventional money? on: May 23, 2017, 05:18:40 AM
I believe that the fee amounts would need to go down before Bitcoin could replace fiat. Right now the fees are too high and it wouldn't make sense to fully replace fiat.

Additionally, I've heard the argument said that not everyone is technologically savvy and would understand how to use Bitcoin. Cash is easy and anyone can carry and spend it. Spending Bitcoin does take a bit of technical knowledge. This is probably easily resolved via apps that dumb it down for users. Still requires that the user be able to operate a computer or phone, but I'm sure most all of the newer generations won't have an issue with this.
504  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Tezos discussion on: May 23, 2017, 05:14:47 AM
the founders have said that they will be converting all ICO token (BTC, ETH) donations to fiat. why?

They plan to use these funds to help further the development of the token according to this:

I wonder what alternative cryptocurrencies Bitdice users use since Bitcoin has been so slow lately with unconfirmed transactions reaching over 200k at one point.

Do you guys prefer LTC or ETH?  And is there a chance for ETC be accepted?  It would be nice if it was.

I would love to see doges on BITDICE. Bets with doges are faster than any other cryptocurrency plus withdrawals and deposits are faster too and it take only 5 doges max as transaction fee. However bets with eth or ltc are slower as most of them cap them at 10k or 100k  to get full speed of rolling.

Bitdice already has Doge in their list.  But it would be better to have coins that has a future somehow.  Like ETH is still growing and LTC has activated Segwit making it ready to scale in case they need it.

Doge seems to definitely be making a comeback in value lately but not sure why. People tend to speculate with alts more than gamble them though which is why a ton of alts aren't added to the site.
506  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Cannot spend full electrum balance? on: May 23, 2017, 04:54:46 AM
Yep, that is normal. A transaction fee is required to send bitcoins and this would be deducted from the amount that you are trying to send. Depending on the number of inputs you are attempting to spend, this could easily add up to 0.002 in fees with the current fee rate of the network.
507  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Bitcoin Transfers always Unconfirmed on: May 23, 2017, 04:51:58 AM
Hello everyone,
I am new to the bitcoin world, and I have a problem. It has been a week that I am going over hundreds forum to try to find a solution. Nothing changes
Problem is : everytime I want to make a transaction, it is unconfirmed. I have to wait about 3 to 4 days until transaction cancels and I get money back.
Of course, I used a high Bitcoin fee (within 2 blocks) : 2.68607mBTC/kB
I also am running the newest version of Electrum, I have enabled Dynamics Fees, and Increased fee once. Nothing changes ...
It's 4th time I am trying to complete transaction, nothing works.
Please help
Thank you for your time
bbboe

Could you provide an example transaction ID so that we can inspect the transaction in more detail?

If you are using high fees, it is possible that there is another reason for the delayed confirmation such as an unconfirmed parent transaction or similar.
508  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Change addresses on: May 23, 2017, 04:50:25 AM
Hi

Noob here. I was reading about how some people have lost bitcoins because they do not understand change addresses. These articles talked about the danger but did not explain the solution clearly.

Can someone help clarify the following for me:

1. Unspent coin goes to a change address. Can I specify this change address?, i.e. create a new wallet and direct the change there? If so, is there an opportunity during a payment transaction to specify the change address I want to use?

2. I've setup Electrum on Tails (the wallet lives in permanent storage). Will Electrum remember my wallet/transactions when I power down?

3. Does Electrum handle all the change/change addresses for me so I don't have to worry about it?

Thanks.

1. You cannot specify the change address via Electrum as far as I know. It is sent to a new random change address within your Electrum wallet. You could create a transaction that has no change though and redirect any extra coins in an input to an address of your choice by sending to multiple addresses at once.

2. I believe that data does not persists on Tails. You can restore your existing wallet at any time using the seed that is given during the creation though. I believe you would have to restore from seed on each use if using Tails.

3. Yes, Electrum handles all the change addresses for you so you don't need to worry about it. It will go to a change address within your Electrum wallet.
509  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Unconfirmed transactions! on: May 23, 2017, 04:45:34 AM
Hi there

Beginner here looking for help with a transaction. It has been unconfirmed for about 5 days now and I have just figured out that it is because of a low fee. I am using electrum and the fee is 50.262 sat/B. The total I have sent is 0.1 BTC and the size is 191 bytes.  Is there any way I can speed it up or increase the fee?? It's quite urgent.

To avoid these slowdowns in the future, be sure that you are running the most recent version of Electrum with the Dynamic Fees feature enabled in the Preferences. This is default in the most recent installations.
510  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Error trying to install Electrum on: May 23, 2017, 04:44:22 AM
I downloaded electrum and when I tried to install it on my mac, it goes to a page where it asks for a password. Im just installing it, i never had a chance to put in a password. I can choose another folder but wont that cause issues?

If it is asking for a password, it sounds like you already have a wallet previously set up with a password on that machine.

If you don't have a password setup, you should be able to backup and remove the C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Roaming\Electrum\wallets\ folder which should allow you to create a new wallet.
511  Other / Off-topic / Re: Why Do We Need Kids??? This Planet Is Getting Over Populated Already!!! on: May 21, 2017, 03:09:05 AM
>>Why do I need kids if some people already do
Why do you need money if some people are already wealthy?

If you are old enough, you might get a chance to participate in Social Security. But it will be gone in a few years, because of Government bungling. You need kids who love you to take care of you when you grow old.

Cool
It is certainly an important reason, but it seems to me that the main reason that we are not eternal, and someone needs to correct our mistakes. Children are needed for this. We never took care of our land. The man deflates and destroys the oil, cut down the forest, poisoning the environment. Our children will create new technologies to restore the environment.

Yeah, it is certainly nice to have kids that can take care of you when you get older. A certain number of kids are definitely needed and I don't think any government's should dictate how many each person can have.

Is there a statistic to tell when was most online players on site?   I am wondering if latest Cryptomania also helped to get more players in Casinos as it is on exchanges.

Nope, there isn't any graph of the players online or anything. However, you can see how many players are online at any given time by the online counter.
513  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: First time miner - Nice Hash $60 payed out today, received $34! Used Electrum? on: May 20, 2017, 03:40:23 AM
Yeah, the receiver never pays the fess, unless NiceHash is deducting fees from your account when they send to you. That wouldn't be Electrum's fault of course Tongue

You can see the amount of fees on a transaction by viewing it in a blockchain explorer such as blockchain.info to verify how much the fee was.
514  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Storing my seed in Lastpass on: May 19, 2017, 02:28:59 PM

First of all, if its a medium to large amount, keep it in cold storage.

but even small amount, I'm not sure I recommend lastpass... my understanding was data Is kept locally but not the best idea if your computer dies..just email yourself the seed or write it down (again for small amounts)

If you value security, don't ever email yourself a seed. Email is extremely insecure and is in plaintext (unless encrypted with PGP or something). Storing in LastPass would be much more secure than email. That being said, it is probably a bit safer to store the seed offline in a secure place.
515  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Cannot send btc, Electrum error, the tranaction was rejected by network rule (66 on: May 19, 2017, 02:25:18 PM
Yeah, it sounds like you are attempting to send the transaction with too low of a fee.

You should double check that Dynamic Fees are enabled in the Preferences as this should likely fix the issue as mentioned by OmegaStarScream. You might also want to upgrade to 2.8.2 which is a slightly newer version than you are currently using.
516  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: ☠ Project in dev: SpacePirate: A Sci-Fi Fantasy Adventure RPG w/ btc rewards ☠ on: May 17, 2017, 02:36:24 PM
Sounds like fun and I'm glad you doing it we need more games and indications like this. Why not instead of using Bitcoin have your own coin ? Spacepirate coin. You could give coins to players who reward early participate in beta as well as a special reward and title. It's a nice way to give incentive. Also good to get more interest too.

It does look like they are using a new coin called RUSTBITS in the game and doing an upcoming ICO soon. Not sure if the rustcoins are in addition to bitcoin or a separate aspect though. This game does look pretty interesting and I plan to check it out more soon.

I downloaded the tos pdf on my phone, works fine! i've uploaded the pdf on docdro, if anyone wants to view the pdf contents.(http://docdro.id/CR7bPQo)

Thanks for the link  probably the issue is on my browser.

Alex, do you have limitations about the countries your users are comming from ?
It should be mentioned in their terms and conditions isn't it ? I tried opening the page https://www.bitdice.me/tos.pdf but unable to load/download the PDF.Mind checking if it's working for you ?
The casino is registered at
Quote
2014-2017 BitDice Casino S.L.R. Costa Rica Registration ID# 3-102-696267
,I'm assuming they follow the same guidelines.Anyway, the terms and conditions PDF should answer your question.

I had no problem to access the TOS, i am using Firefox, maybe you should try.

The reason why i ask, is that the TOS can be amended to enable such usage, and it may even be possible without breaking it.

I tried it on firefox  and i can confirm that the pdf open meaning the page is fine, seems it has an issue with google chrome browser or I am missing some plug-ins.

I check with chrome and here is the error :

tos.pdf:1 Refused to load plugin data from 'https://www.bitdice.me/tos.pdf' because it violates the following Content Security Policy directive: "object-src 'none'".

Alex should check that.

Yep, I see this error also occurring in Chrome. Perhaps its a new security change by Chrome. Alex will check that soon and fix it.
518  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Please Help, my Transaction ist stuck unconfirmed after aprox 12 Days on: May 17, 2017, 01:22:30 PM
I made a transaction with Electrum Wallet. Standard fee of electrum. Was not my first transaction. Every other transaction was done in max 12 hours.

tx id:
https://blockchain.info/tx/ac1842c4d73651eb6f09677aec24bb5ccead37ddbf1e458ce8af15030db35ace

ac1842c4d73651eb6f09677aec24bb5ccead37ddbf1e458ce8af15030db35ace

Is there any way to make that transaction happen or to cancel it? I would even mine that specific blockthingy if it is possible.
Thanks for any Help

P.S.: sorry for my bad english, i hope u can understand my problem. if u got questions please ask.

The fees on this transaction are quite small compared to the currently recommended fees which is why the transaction isn't confirming. The network congestion is quite high at the moment. Your best bet is attempting to use https://www.viabtc.com/tools/txaccelerator/ . You will have to wait til after the hour when they allow additional submissions.

In order to prevent further problems like this, please ensure that you are running the latest version of Electrum and enable Dynamic Fees in the options. This will estimate the proper fees so that you don't end up waiting a long time for confirmations. You control how quickly it should confirm with a slider.
519  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Multiple Cold Wallets on: May 17, 2017, 04:41:12 AM
Yeah, there really isn't a need to have multiple hardware wallets unless you want one as a backup in case the other is damaged. Perhaps the multipacks are for people that want to set up multi-sig wallets or designed so that you can get multiple and give the others to friends or family.
520  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What to do and How to use Bitcoin on: May 17, 2017, 04:37:13 AM
Kind of new and to Bitcoin and I need Help please ! 1)How to deal with Bitcoins? I think I will select Bitcoin Client: only because it safe plus secure handling with your money. Is this true Y or N.  2) Where can I get Bitcoin? There are several currency exchanges, such as Bitstamp,Bitfinex or btc-e can be purchase by arranging to meet a local using seller using Bitcoins. Can someone tell me which one is the best one and being safe? I try to pay for software from web site RedFox.bz, but process was denied by my Bank. I email support from RedFox.bz they suggested to use Bitcoin that only help I got. 3) ' Setup payment account which is better to have going through the Bank or Credit Card? > I prefer lower rate fee plus for international exchange rate fee because I live United State and the software I want is from China." 4) I seen something call Wallet and what is that for, what to do or how to setup? 5) How do I finally pay using Bitcoin for the software then go back to web site RedFox.bz to purchase the software after two choices you have to select VISA or Bitcoin? Appreciate all Help from anyone from "start' to finish in simple terms".
Thank you.
Best regards,
Brandon L

1) Yes, bitcoin is a great method for handling payments and is secure as long as your PC is secure and free of viruses.

2) If you are in the United States, the easiest place to get bitcoins is probably Coinbase.com .

3) I think CoinBase connects to your bank account. Not sure if they allow credit card payments or not.

4) Check out this page for a list of wallet software: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1631151.0 . I recommend Electrum as it is a pretty good wallet. However, you don't necessarily need a wallet software as you can probably make a payment from the exchange such as Coinbase which may be easier for you when you are first starting out. Eventually, you may want to look into wallet software though.

5) Coinbase will allow you to send bitcoin to an address that the website will provide for payments. You simply enter the address and the amount of bitcoin to send and it will allow you make the payment.
