some traders dumping at 800 and others buying at 2700 lol. I guess im a bagholder now.  Cool

I'm trying to keep the price up but I can not remain this status longer
I'm tired of this situation . so many investor is selling this coin

lol, dev is happy for u paying him money...

Ofcourse miners will instantly dump this coin while its possible.

and....... how is that different from any other POW coin? did we all forget that mining upholds the chain? and as for those saying miners receive 'free money' throughout multiple threads here on BCT, remember.... WE PAY HYDRO AND HW COSTS. I myself invest aswell as mine, and can't stand this divide that seems to be forming between the two.
A good coin will survive simply based on its merits and the community that backs it. Price is a combination of multiple factors, mining is not the only thing that drops price!

not a problem, he runs strictly AMD 270x's (his preference not mine) so in theory there should be no issue once they finally come in.

not yet, but i have a buddy who recently purchased something very similar (i think possibly with ribbon cable though).. just waiting on it to come in and then will be trying it out. Since I build all his rigs anyways, I will update with photos when it comes in. His find of that type of expansion board is what prodded me to find the ones in the OP
508  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: PCIE Expansion boards for GPU Mining! UPDATED W/ PRICES on: July 17, 2016, 05:43:38 PM
As far as I know you can use 7 GPUs to any rig, since Bios supports only 7 GPUs?How did you overcome this issue?

For the AMD graphics cards drivers, you can use up to 8 GPU in a motherboard, for example 4X7990+4X390.
I agree except for the models youve used in your examples.... isnt a 7990 a dual-gpu, therefor 4x7990 = 8gpu max?
509  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: PCIE Expansion boards for GPU Mining! on: July 15, 2016, 02:34:44 PM
well, by my calculations (which could always be waaaay off lol):
16 cards * 6 slots = 96 cards  (on a PRO BTC)
96 cards * 170 watts/card = 16,320 watts  (assuming gigabyte 270x windforce, my kill-o-watt reads 150-170)
So, minimum you would need 16 * 1100 watt PSU's plus a small 250-300 watt PSU to run the PRO-BTC board.

Lmao I wonder if the windows AMD driver modder program can handle 96 cards LMFAO

no way it can not even handle 8 properly, let alone 96, not to mention you are still forced to buy psu anyway which is the most expensive out of all the components that do not mine

better to stick with the standard six gpu rig
This was also my thought, as Ive had to use modded drivers just to get 5-6 running in windows (switching back to linux). But their site claims 16 GPUs for one slot, so I assume they can AT LEAST handle that many. Now the 96 cards is obviously theoretical, but I was just extending the math to its furthest possibilities given 6 pcie slots.
510  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: PCIE Expansion boards for GPU Mining! on: July 15, 2016, 02:29:42 PM
These things work but are usually overpriced and its cheaper just buying another motherboard+cpu.

yes in fact it's possible to buy mb+cpu+ram+ssd for less than $100 if they are used, new they are around $160 and since you can not avoid buying other psu anyway, it's pointless

also there are some bad story about power risers and two psu with he asrock if you use two molex(one from each psu), you would fry your motherboard
Interesting, I havent run into this issue yet, Ive been using asrock PRO BTC h81 boards for awhile now, and generally set it so which ever psu powers a specific GPU, also powers the molex, eg: 2 gpu's and 2 molex for one 650 watt, and 3-4 plus their molex's on a 850 watt. What exactly is the issue with this setup that causes the board to fry?

Hello Bitcointalk members!
I came across something I found rather neat today in my random google searching lol. I was wondering if anyone here has seen/used one of these pcie expansion boards, if they work well, and what the limit may be for one Mboard. I realize that each one would need its own PSU, but thats really not a problem as I have already daisy-chained 2 and 3 in rigs, and assume more would simply work the same way.

 <--- expansion backplate

Or... even crazier, they claim using 4 of these (link provided below) you can have 16 GPU's running from ONE PCIE SLOT!!!! imagine on a h81 PRO BTC!

UPDATE
Ok, so I contacted the company for some details, and was suuuper sad with the reply. AMPH was the closest with predictions as to what it could ACTUALLY handle.

heres some snippets of the email:

.......
Thank you for your interest in our products.
Please note the general purpose motherboard will not support more than 6-8 GPUs. This is the motherboard/BIOS limitation.
You can use the server type dual CPU motherboard like SuperMicro X9DRX+-F for supporting up to 12 GPUs.

Has anyone else had an issue with temp showing 0 on a windforce r9 280x? I just switched from my 270x (which displayed fine on all version of this miner), and when I booted up, it shows no temp, although hashing speed seems right. I have tried multiple versions of the miner and have the same problem so i assume its something with my setup (nothing has changed since using the 270x). At the same time, it seems my mclock and cclock settings are not recognized.. no matter what i set it to, i still get 18.19 Mhs.

my troubleshooting:
After switching my 270x to my 280x, I used DDU to uninstall all drivers, rebooted, and re-installed 15.12 ... hoping that it was a driver issue (not fully installed, etc.) I have also tried without mclock and cclock, and still show no temp, and still 18.19 mhs.

My setup:
-MSI h87-g41 Mboard
-pentium g3220 cpu
-12 gb ram
-250 gb ssd
-1 r9 280x windforce
-amd 15.12 catalyst
- all required 'setx' options have been set

Anybody got any ideas what the issue might be?
514  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Claymore's Dual Ethereum+Decred GPU Miner v4.1 (Windows/Linux) on: May 03, 2016, 12:49:58 AM
Is it suppose to be like this, where my 2x 280x and 2x 380 are only getting 1200 MH/s in total for Decred mining but 82 for ETH? Because I researched and saw that each 280x should be getting around 2 GH/s.
I have the same, ~880 Mhs just mining DCR, but dual I get ~195-250 depending on settings. I'm assuming its due to the ETH mining being the main portion of the miner, and the main goal was to keep full speed or better when mining ETH, while still being able to mine DCR as a bonus. I'm sure as new revisions come out we'll see the DCR hash pick up a bit more.

But do remember, no matter how optimized, you are still mining 2 algo's with one card at the same time, One is likely to suffer a bit.

That being said, this is an incredible piece of software, and well worth the 1-2% devfee to be able to mine both coins IMHO.
515  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Claymore's Dual Ethereum+Decred GPU Miner v4.1 (Windows/Linux) on: May 02, 2016, 11:57:43 PM
You are mining ETH at 16.69 MHs with a 270x? Can please elaborate a bit on that?

I have six of those and only one goes above 15 MHs, the rest runs at ~13 MHs

but I believe that nrg_wolf is correct as I just checked and dont have the boost when mining actual ETH, just EXP
516  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Claymore's Dual Ethereum+Decred GPU Miner v4.1 (Windows/Linux) on: May 02, 2016, 11:23:50 PM
So, I''m not sure if anybody else has experienced this, but I have noticed a rather large difference in hashrate when using -allcoins 1. Before, on my single 270x sapphire, I was running ~12.5-13 Mhs for Eth and ~180-195 Mhs for Dcr. After deciding to give EXP+DCR a go, I had to enable -allcoins 1. Now suddenly I have 16.69 Mhs for Eth/Exp and 250 Mhs dcr... both absolutely stable.

Obviously I'm not complaining about the gain, just confused as to why? My current theory:
When using allcoins, the DEVFEE is taken from the default pool list in the included txt file. These are pools the dev already uses, and therefor withdrawls would happen more often, making the fee more liquid to the dev and making min withdrawl easier to reach. I assume because of this we get an extra boost to speed?
517  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Claymore's Dual Ethereum+Decred GPU Miner v4.1 on: April 30, 2016, 03:06:01 AM
Just got a 270x and found this incredible piece of work! Well done dev! I'm currently rocking at 13Mhash eth and 230 Mhash dcr! (bit of a drop from my dcr only rate of 895, but more then acceptable for dual-mining!)

You dont need the memory set above default, i run mine lower. Depending on the miner you are using you could up the I - a bit. I wouldn't expect over 1GH tho, my 280's do 1.25
Memclock does not need to be upped for extra speed?? So I can basically remove the --gpu-memclock setting from my .bat? I am using cgminer-3.7.2-decred..... it was the first miner I found. I literally hooked up the gpu this afternoon EST lol. So haven't had much time to mess with settings, and as I say, I'm new to the next-gen algo's. So please forgive my ignorance on the matter.

Just got a suuuuper cheap gigabyte r9 270x. Anybody know good clock settings? I havent really been gpu mining since the glory days of scrypt :p
Currently, I have it running ~895 Mhs at   e:1100 m:1000 I:12

Not sure if this has been reported, but on my nexus 5 the stats of my cards revert after level up.
