501  Other / Meta / Re: why im not sr member? on: October 25, 2014, 06:49:48 PM
Because you don't know how to search or read stickies.
I am not 100% sure how the ranking system worked in 2011 however there is at least one instance when someone demanded to be promoted to Junior member.
Please, i respectfully demand being appointed as a full member.

You see, i am one of the oldest members. I saw the potential of bitcoin from the start, i stayed up restless in my bed in 2009, thinking of the libertarian utopia that would await us. And i made an account here. So it began. And i made topics. However, now i have unfortunately been subject to newbie treatment, which is perhaps unjust, i would recommend you reconsider this.
I found the post in this thread.
502  Other / Meta / Re: Uncollected activity points on: October 25, 2014, 06:28:58 PM
It is possible but you must do it manually. I would suggest that you write down (or make a spreadsheet) of all of the "activity" periods since you have joined (when they started/ended). Then go through your post history to check as to how many activity periods you posted in. You then multiple that number times 14 and you have your answer
503  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Charlie Shrem is scamming me, watch out on: October 24, 2014, 07:35:04 PM
look,
you keep polishing your story, but only when I squeeze a bit more,
I stand same ground from the beginning

There shouldn't be any need for him to polish more or for you to squeeze more.  You are being belligerent in a way almost everybody reading you is going to think is unnecessary and counterproductive.  I know I certainly wouldn't make any agreements with you after seeing all of this.  They way you are handling this is something I would want to avoid dealing with at all costs, and I'm sure lots of people feel the same as me.
I agree. After seeing how he is handling this situation I would not deal with him period, even if he were to send goods/money first. He is taking advantage of someone who values his reputation a lot and who could potentially go to jail (for longer) if he is labeled as a thief/dishonest.

You also need to remember that you probably would not be able to sell the coins period without him as there is really not another realistic way of doing so because you would need to send first (and risk the buyer not pay, or make the buyer risk that you not send the coins after paying. I don't think any escrow would accept this trade because it would be too difficult for them to resolve any disputes, putting their reputation at ridk.
504  Economy / Reputation / Re: Do you think BiPolarBob is crazy ?? *share your deals you did with him before* on: October 24, 2014, 07:25:30 PM
It should still work for a couple weeks.  Smiley But if you really have no other VPN service, PM me. I'll get you an account with any popular VPN of your choice.  Smiley
this is probably a better idea. While I don't think you are planning on doing anything "bad" any one using your VPN service is taking on a risk by using your service, a bigger risk then accepting a $50 gift card when the max loss is $50.

Also pro tip: make anyone receiving a free VPN account donate .01 to Sean's outpost (or another mutually agreed upon charity)
505  Economy / Invites & Accounts / Re: [WTS] Bitcointalk.org forum accounts - Inventory Updated 21/10/14 on: October 24, 2014, 07:00:16 PM
I never understood why accounts go for so much, esp when there are barely quality signature campaigns.
the campaigns that are open pay a lot when you figure how much they pay per post. So you can earn a good amount for doing very little work. Plus most campaigns are only open to senior accounts and higher.

There are hardly any pay per post campaigns now. Usually there are fixed pay campaigns which pay around 0.1 BTC a month on average, but there is a long waiting list to get in.

All these reflects in the price, Sr. Member accounts struggle to get 0.15 BTC these days. I think a few months back they were easily pulling in 0.4-0.5 BTC. I thing PrimeDice is to blame for collapsing the signature campaign market. Add to that a lot of users getting promoted, and there is a huge supply of high ranked accounts.

Out of curiousity, what is the price at which Hero Members are going these days? It was above 1 BTC, but I would assume it would be much lesser now.
there are open spots in GAW now as well as the bi-weekly campaign (bitnet? - I am on my phone now and can't look it up). Any fixed rate deal will effectively pay you a lot per post ( for exactly 50 or however many posts) so you won't have to put in a lot of effort to earn a modest amount. While you are in the fixed rate campaign you can wait for a pay per post campaign.

I would agree that the account market is slow now but people are still wiling to pay .4 BTC + for a senior account if it has good, high quality, English posts. You can probably get a senior for a lot less if the account has a bunch of spam posts.

For hero accounts they still sell for over 1 BTC or more if it is well into hero status and/or has positive trust/is on default trust.

Does senior member worth 0.4BTC still? Did you sell one of them in short time?
Yes senior members are still worth .4 BTC

I have sent you a PM

I decided to buy "sintax" his sr member account since he offers me a better price for his close to hero member account with alot of activity. I am sorry, take the second highest bidder please since I am not in the need to buy 2 accounts Tongue
This is not surprising. He did the same thing to me
509  Economy / Invites & Accounts / Re: [WTS] Bitcointalk.org forum accounts - Inventory Updated 21/10/14 on: October 24, 2014, 02:34:19 AM
Your Newbie and Jr. Member prices are way too high, IMHO.
My prices can be discussed. You should also note that my prices are not for "normal" Newbie/Jr member accounts as you can potentially get higher activity (and ranking) just by posting, this is opposed to most newbie/jr member accounts that have already realized the maximum amount of activity they are going to realize until the next activity period.

Also none of my lower level accounts have participated in signature campaigns (or have the associated spam type posts)
510  Other / Meta / Re: ATTENTION, theymos! BitcoinTalk NOW has a threatening security issue! on: October 23, 2014, 06:52:38 PM
The forum has a policy to not moderate potential scams. As a result it is not the safest way to conduct business (the same can be said with Bitcoin in general due to the inability to reverse a transaction).

I agree that a moderated thread almost will always mean scam and I invest/spend as so. There are some, very limited instances when a self moderated thread makes sense (for example when you have a high visibility thread that someone could use to advertise their services).
511  Other / Meta / Re: ATTENTION, theymos! BitcoinTalk NOW has a threatening security issue! on: October 23, 2014, 06:15:24 PM
It is disclosed to everyone prior to posting that a thread is self moderated and that posts can be deleted by the creator of the thread. You can make a new thread that is not self-moderated if you want to prevent being moderated like this.

Also self-moderated threads tend to get more attention as they can help people scam, so a deleted post will likely lead to a scam accusation being opened.

True, but in the case of what is happening here, this user has created a bot to delete posts of people that have spoken out against their company.

there are plenty of scam accusations against Black Arrow who has acted in numerous unethical ways, including this means of attempting to delete factual information from its thread.

so, sure, the current rules allow it.  and people have taken what steps they can to operate within those rules also in response to the actions of this company.

the premise I think is that this user is abusing the hell out of those rules in a wrongful attempt to prevent people that may be looking for information on this company from seeing the actual information being provided by current customers.

the question is why would this level of automated censorship be allowed.  it's obviously BS, at a minimum, and borders on fraud, if not outright crosses that line, by redacting the truth being posted by people that have been screwed by this company, lied to by this company and had their money taken and not returned as promised by this company.
if someone isn't going to go to the "trouble" to check scam accusations before doing business with a company then they probably won't read through a thread (that potentially has negative comments against the company).

I don't think it would be against the rules to create a second thread discussing the company that is unmoderated (un-self-moderated) if it is that important to have a thread discussing the company in the mining section.
512  Economy / Lending / Re: Offering Loans [No Collateral] on: October 23, 2014, 03:07:51 PM
If you used the account as collateral what did you expect to happen? If he didn't change the email and password you could just take it back thus defeating the purpose of using it in the first place. I'm sure you'll get it back when you repay the loan.
i think he is implying that someone hacked into his account, changed his email then took out a loan against the account (as a way to quickly sell it).

It is also interesting that so much was loaned for a senior member account as most other loans with an un-trusted senior account are for .1 max

Ah, the old 'my account was hacked' excuse. And yeah, loaning so much even with an account as collateral is asking for trouble. 0.1 is probably worth the risk as you'd be getting a cheap account if he defaulted.
I agree that there is an overwhelming chance the account was not hacked, but I didn't know this was a common thing to claim after selling (or putting up as collateral) your account.

I do think that lending with accounts as collateral is a very interesting way to buy accounts, although I am surprised that so many people with positive reputation/trust are engaging in this practice based on how the community generally feels about this practice, as many people think (incorrectly) that selling accounts leads to scamming.

The new password reset log should be able to dismiss most claims of hacked accounts for the most part as it is public information if an account has had their password changed/reset in the past 3/30 days.
513  Economy / Auctions / Re: [Auction] Selling Gambling Business on: October 23, 2014, 04:55:54 AM
As long as escrow is used or payment sent first, every bidder is highly welcome. No matter if newbie or hero member.
If a newbie wins the auction and does not pay then the next highest bidder might have spent the money they would have bought the site for on something else, leaving you with an unsold website. All you can do to a newbie is leave them negative trust if they do not pay, but then can easily create a new account with no effort.

I would suggest making any newbies or anyone you are not 100% certain will pay to put money for their bid in an address controlled by a trusted escrow. This will prevent the above from happening
514  Economy / Invites & Accounts / Re: [Buying] Hero Member Bitcointalk accounts on: October 22, 2014, 10:06:11 PM
I lowered my offer after looking on other topics on the forums, I realised I overpay after talking to my friends.
That would still not explain the fact that you lowered your offer price a second time nor is that an excuse to back out of something that you already agreed to just because you feel you are paying too much (which you were not)
515  Economy / Invites & Accounts / Re: [Buying] Hero Member Bitcointalk accounts on: October 22, 2014, 09:25:11 PM
FYI to anyone considering to sell to him - the op had agreed to a price with me. After I agreed to use escrow he disappeared for a day then would only pay a lower price (a significant amount lower). After I told him that he needed to stick to what he agreed to, he lowered his offer by another .2 btc. I would not trust this person.
516  Economy / Auctions / Re: [Auction] Selling Gambling Business on: October 22, 2014, 09:20:15 PM
3 btc bet
fyi - this person essentially backed out of a trade after agreeing to a price and to use escrow. I would not take his bids seriously unless he prefunds his bid to escrow.

This is my account.(trollboxchamp)

Someone hacked it and changed the email. Are you in possesion of this account?

Pretty fucking lame. Someone needs to get a life.

Fuck btctalk. They let ppl change an accounts email without even logging into said email. Talk about flawed...
