501  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: PBmining - legit? on: July 22, 2014, 02:51:52 PM
If PB is legit, then they should at-least have a block mined but I couldn't see one. Is there any way to cancel my mining contract in PB? I just want my invested BTC back.
Kindly,
      MZ

I think its like buying a car once you sign the papers your stuck with it.

ALso currenthly they state they are mining a pool i know they don't list what pool or pools they have their peta hash pointed at.

The ROI is close to 7-9 months right? Most ponzi that admit their ponzis (hyips) would only take 2-3 months to get ROI that's why they last for less than a year. PBMining's payout per GH decreases each time. Ponzis usually have a fixed % which is why they fail so quickly. If it is a ponzi, it is the most popular one out there. Word spreads, more people invest and as long as this keeps up, the risk of them shutting down is one of the lowest (if not the lowest) of ponzis out there.

PBMining can easily decrease their payout according to the profitability. Less payout means more profit for them. I don't think that is a good statement to proove PB isn't a ponzi scheme. Smiley

You misunderstood what I said. That's exactly why I think PBMining is ponzi that won't shutdown anytime soon, because their payout can be lowered. They can easily getaway with an explanation using the "difficulty to mine increasing".

so do you think Script.cc or CEX.io or any of the other cloud based mining operations are pozis also? Because if your issue is they don't have pictures of their miners they could find pics of any miner and Photoshop a little and we wouldn't know any better.
Cex has about 30% of the network hashrate, I think that's decent proof. Sure some of it's from people mining on their own hardware, but they have lots of hardware that they're renting out too.

But we aren't sure really their breakout the percentage of their hash rate that is rented equipment versus miners pointing their hardware to it do we they don't really publish that they could be using fees and other things to cover it till the close and run. We take some blind faith that CEX.io is actually still doing what they did in the past. But then also what is thier to stop them from just stop doing payouts and keeping all the money.

But hey we are talking about BTC it is the scammers currency.

Im not to sure about PBm.. Many things are not as they should be, according to 2 of my friends that have contracts with them

What are these things that are not as they should be? you gotta do more than just say that.

Any word on B4 sales?
Id be will to bet they won't start until the 1st of next month at the earliest.

why?  I would think they made solid money with the first four batches. So why not sell more?

Do you really think they need to upgrade it to overclock at the 500gh?

I think all they need do is lower price clock it at 212.5 freq as stock.  With 218.75 as the over clock.

Advertise it as 430gh  at 330 watts. Drop price to .65btc min order of 2 .

My interest for these is an undervolt under clock pencil mod.    I would love them to run at 190 freq hash at 380gh  an spend about 200-220 watts

By end of this week they should have the first 3 batches shipped. the i figure they will wait 3 or 4 days to see if their are any major issue to fix. maybe even look at that beeping issue. stock pile a few miner to have them ready for the orders and then open the new batch and chuck them out the door within 48 hrs of you placing the order.

504  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Ethernet Cable UTP Cat5 its enough?Or better Cat5E? on: July 22, 2014, 02:16:04 PM
UTP Cat5E is enough.

u mean Cat5?. Cat5E is better and more expensive  Cheesy

And any switch also will be enough i suppose
CAT 5 should be fine and any Switch. Please make sure it is a switch and not a hub if you buy it used. B\C if it is a Hub it will cause latency which will negatively affect your profitablity.
My 2 TH miner only uses at its peak like 16kbits. So even wireless B could work but then your issue with wireless comes to that wireless traffic runs like an ethernet network with a hub and you will have collisions that will cause good old latency.

If you want gigabit speeds to all your devices, you need Cat5E or better along with a gigabit switch. For most stuff at home, any gigabit switch will work. I have't had one die on me yet.

Be careful with GIGABit switches each port may be capable of gigabit speed but not all of the ports can do gigabit at the same time. you want to look at the Switching Capacity for the switch it should be at least 2gbs per port on the switch. In the home environment this isn't to big of a deal but if you what to have a media server in your home and stream high quality videos it can make a big difference.

wanted to thank everyone for pointing this out, as I have done good by them , I was going to buy one more TH/s now I Don't know I sure will put more thought into this now
I thought it was odd the no one in Canada can buy from them now ? starts to add to the fishy smell of it,

So to go with them or deal with buying more hardware that is a luck if you get it ontime, don't get me started on butterfly labs it won't end well.. lol

Thanks Danny

The reason they stopped with Canadians is in regards to the new legislation they put in place regarding Bitcoins. Which you really can't blame them for tryin to stay out of that mess. But at the same time it is werrid they even care about those regulations.

I have been signed up with PB Mining for 2 months. I have received back 42% of my investment. I had contacted them about fees and stuff such as that they told me they don't charge any fees its all built into the up front fee for the 5 year contract. So i guess in 4 months at most i should be into profit territory. But they haven't lowered their Per GH price lately so i don't think its a smart investment to get into right now. untill they lower their rate again.

Has anyone with a B3 order received a shipping notification?  Still anxiously awaiting mine...

probably late tonight (which is morn July 22 in china) or tomorrow because my late batch 2 was shipped today
My batch 3 order
Order Date: 2014-07-11 18:50:20
Pay Date:2014-07-11 19:01:06

Just got an e-mail from UPS this morning EST that my labels have been printed.

Good to hear.  My order/pay date was July 7.  I guess if yours was July 11 and you are receiving your labels, mine should be "any moment now."
Go to ups.com and search by reference number put in your order number it will let you know if the labels have been printed. They show a delivery date of wensday for mine even though they haven't received them yet.
