501  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][OAX] openANX - Real World Application of Decentralized Exchanges on: June 22, 2017, 08:51:10 AM
Hi,

First of all the project seems to be really interesting and ambitious even for me who is completely new for cryptocurrencies and blockchains. I am going to buy OAX with a goal to get some more return in future, but before doing that I have to understand is there any prospect that OAX will rise in price in future. I would be grateful if you could answer those.

1. What do I get except voting privileges as an owner of OAX tokens?
2. I have read the whitepaper, as far as I understood I cannot sell OAX tokens and it can only be exchanged? What does it mean?
3. Maybe that question to the community, do you think that the price of OAX tokens may rise in price in future if the project is successful?

I am sorry if my questions seems to be dumb or newbie Smiley I got to know about openanx just yesterday

Hey mattz098, no your questions aren't dumb at all.

Let me try to answer... OAX tokens gain access to voting privileges, as discussed. This allows you to have a say in the future direction of the platform. In the future, this may provide other benefits, but this is still in concept phase.

Memberships can be swapped, certainly. Whether or not tokens can be traded is really out of our hands.

Last, I can't predict the future, nor do I want to be seen building hype. If you like the project, concept stage is a good time to get involved. A lot of people understand what we are trying to do with the platform and want to get involved now. Likely when the prototype is deployed and woking, people who find the whole thing theoretical now will likely feel more confident with something concrete. It depends on if you are excited by the idea.
I am not so sure if this was mentioned before though I am just going to ask...is this project related to ANX?

I see the Twitter posts from openANX and I can somewhat tell that the ANX company likes a few tweets from the project. The name seems like they are related somehow as well.

Hey Hong Kong! Thanks for the question. The Open ANX Foundation is leading the team running openANX (the project) ANX International is a founding backer of the project, along with Chandler Guo (China) Jehan Chu (Hong Kong) Bok Khoo (Australia) and others. ANX International is providing much of the initial IP of the project (order matching engine etc) and will plug into the project as an Asset Gateway when the prototype is live. Hugh Madden, project Technical Director, conceived much of the idea and technical thinking behind openANX, and he is the CTO of ANX International, so that's where the overlap comes from.

ANX International will continue to run its business, and the openANX project will be overseen by the Foundation (a non-profit making entity)
Hi ANX Marketing,
thanks for the reply.

That's good to see, I was hoping that this project was not going to be a program that pretends that it's involved with something when it really is not.
It looks like you guys aren't new to the whole Crypto Currency thing so I think that this will be a good project. The ICO might get sold out within 24 hours.
502  Economy / Economics / Re: Why we should fear a cashless world on: June 22, 2017, 08:45:38 AM
Cashless society is actually a good idea thought it has its advantages and disadvantages obviously - one benefit of cashless economy is that it is easier to track the black money and illegal transactions because if cash is used directly for doing transactions than it is not easy to track the transactions as the money does not come into the banking system however in case of digital transactions it is easy to track the transaction as all records are there with the banks which result in more transparent transactions which in turn leads to fall in corruption in the economy of the country. Another advantage of cashless economy is that since all transactions will be done through organized channel that is through banks and financial institutions it results in increase in tax revenue for the government as all cash transactions which were done illegally come into banking system which in turn helps the government in tracking all transactions and levying tax on them which in turn can be used by the government for betterment of economy of the country. Disadvantage of the cashless economy is that although it easy to do digital transactions but at the same time it is very risky as compared to cash related transactions. Hence people having half knowledge of digital payments are exposed to cyber fraud and losing their hard earned money to online scam and hacking of bank accounts and hence it is better to do cash transactions rather than doing digital transactions if one is not fully aware of the online medium of transactions.
That's the whole point of Blockchain though, the whole anonymous payments is not going to work so much with Bitcoin unless they have an Altcoin though the transactions are usually recorded and someone could find the transaction if they have the timestamp's for the payments.

A cashless society is going to allow bankers and other companies that deal with money to make as much money as they want.
503  Economy / Economics / Re: Does the Price of Bitcoin Matter? on: June 22, 2017, 08:41:44 AM
Definitely, the price of bitcoin matters.More people would come to invest in it when its price rises.Similarly, when its price falls down, more people would quit. Most of the people invest in bitcoins only to earn profits.Only some people would be bitcoin enthusiasts who would continue to celebrate bitcoin even if its price is low.
The price of Bitcoin does not really matter to me. I like the progression of the technological inputs for Bitcoin rather than looking at the price of  Bitcoin so much since an electronic currency is going to be known in the world eventually.

The question is, how many people would use Bitcoin if it went back to having no value?
504  Economy / Economics / Re: Is bitcoin now the strongest currency in the world? on: June 22, 2017, 08:38:55 AM
So this thread / question was created last 2013. And for sure op's friends are now into bitcoin. No doubt that bitcoin is now the strongest currency not just in the real world but also include the crypto world. Bitcoin has been mere topics by business articles and investments.
Bitcoin is not the worlds strongest Currency because Bitcoin is not an official Currency labeled from the IMF. If Bitcoin was labeled as a Currency by the IMF then the price of Bitcoin would be much more higher than it is right now.

Bitcoin is indeed the most recommended Crypto Currency in world though.
505  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin as a source of income? on: June 22, 2017, 08:35:45 AM
What can I say? If you know where to invest, then Bitcoin is a great resource for profit.
True, if people knew how to invest and what to invest in then there would be nobody losing money through certain investments. Investing money into Bitcoin can work in two directions if the person decides on putting throw away money into Bitcoin then they are likely to make their money back without having to worry so much about the price of the coin, the same can't work with investing money that they need.
506  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: We can't buy something with Bitcoin quickly on: June 22, 2017, 08:30:48 AM
The merchant could easily see whether your transaction will be fine or not by checking out the current recommendation fee and compare it to yours, though, if the merchants use some sort of bitcoin payment gateway that supports zero confirmation, It's all will be fine, the money will be directly transferred to the merchant's bank account. Still, not a convenient way to go though.
Well not only that though the confirmation of Bitcoin could get sped up if the person decided to use an offline transaction instead of entirely relying on Blockchain.
All the person will need to do after sending his wallet.dat file would be to change the password on his file while checking blockchain. The whole process could get sped up with a Blockchain Bootstrap file.
507  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How much risk in bitcoin investement ? on: June 22, 2017, 08:27:50 AM
I think bitcoin investment is not risky.Thr important thing is that you will find the legit website in where you will invest yoir bitcoin. One of the legit investment bitcoin wevsite is the poloniex. It was a very legit and nice bitcoin investment.
I would not recommend Poloniex as a legit Bitcoin website because they are know to give people a very hard time even if they are staying within their rules placed on their website.
Bitcoin is a risky investment if the investor decided on relying on it for their daily/monthly income since the price of it could drop to no value.

509  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [LNK] [Ethereum.link] Silver Trading| Linking Desk | Flexible Market Connector | on: June 22, 2017, 08:21:35 AM
I am receive payments by team LNK,
now, i need exchange this coin, where is exchange this LNK?

i'm get 2.120441052 LNK.

I've watched this thread for a very long time and it seems like this project is very unorganized though it also looks like the price of their Ethereum.link token is going to be expensive due to its low supply.

They stated that there will be an exchange before the end of this month (June) so lets see what happens.

Internet of Coins Update #18 - Alpha wallet now live on TOR!

IoC lance #alpha #wallet! Rejoignez la tempête! #internetofcoins https://coinstorm.net

NIP manquant

512  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: $8 fee? for a $73 transaction? Really what the fuc is going on? on: June 14, 2017, 09:36:23 PM
If you're not in a hurry, you could simply choose a lower fee.
This is holly truth! The value of the fee that they suggested to you is impossibly high! This wallets are just going crazy, but I am sure there are people who pay such fees. Maybe to organise my own BTC wallet with normal fee amount!? Roll Eyes
Having a really high fee for Bitcoin is just something that is frowned upon in the Crypto area since the people that can wait for their Bitcoin transaction to receive a confirmation only have to wait around 24 hours for the other person to get their coins. A $0.60 transaction fee could get the transaction confirmed successfully if the transaction is accelerated properly.
513  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is Bitcoin Sound Money? on: June 14, 2017, 10:51:50 AM
Well from my understanding of sound money it means stable money and judging from the volatility of Bitcoin I don't think it can be considered as sound money because it appreciates and depreciates quite too often due it's lack of central control and regulation.
People that get real comfortable with Bitcoin are usually the ones that lose a bunch of money with Bitcoin since investing more money that they can afford to lose is a wrong method for investing in something that they know nothing about. I kind of wonder how many people know the technical side on Bitcoin instead of just watching the price of it going up or down.
514  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin may not be number one for long on: June 13, 2017, 09:18:01 PM
I was not expecting that because when days, months or years passed I think no. 1 spot is not only for bitcoin. Also, there's a lot of coins should be develop and I think one of this coins breaks title given to bitcoin.
I am not worried about Bitcoin having the option to drop down to the number 2 spot on Coinmarketcap since Bitcoin was the coin that began the whole Alt coin thing anyhow. If Bitcoin goes down to the number 2 spot then the number 1 spot will have to get people to invest in Bitcoin because people that been around the Crypto scene know that there is a real purpose for Bitcoin.
515  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: <BREAKING NEWS> “Due To Popular Demand” Goldman Starts Covering Bitcoin on: June 13, 2017, 01:53:51 AM
This story is just coming in fresh off the wires.

Updates to follow...
Any source?
I am not surprised by them trying to post fud about Bitcoin since they know that the price of Bitcoin is going up. Once there is a bunch of money involved and something is getting more expensive then the large players are really going to being flocking into the thing that they feel is going to make money.
516  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Media Article "Experts" trying to get cheap bitcoin on: June 13, 2017, 01:38:47 AM
Bullish.

If the media starts talking too good about Bitcoin, then it is overhyped and probably overbought, you all know.

Right, most people that talk bad about Bitcoin or post FUD about Bitcoin have a purpose that they want and that purpose is usually that they want to purchase Bitcoin on the side.

I purchase Bitcoin without the news giving an influence on when and how I purchase it. The news does bring a few funny articles about Bitcoin sometimes.
517  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: are transaction delays crashing Bitcoin prices? on: June 13, 2017, 01:35:20 AM
Transaction delays does make a person want to sell or purchase Bitcoin though with Bitcoin transactions having a negative impact on the price, the price of bitcoin will only affect the price short-term. There is a general view that Bitcoin will have a very expensive price in the near future and the cost for the transactions are nothing compared to it right now.
518  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: All cryptocurrencies vallue dropping fast atm on: June 12, 2017, 10:50:41 PM
While others are getting panic, traders is smiling whenever this happen. Don't panic it's normal, not all the time it will be a green and for sure it will recover in a few days/weeks/months. That is common in crypto world and that's a good time to buy as well.
I am not worried about it at all since the price of Bitcoin will either be really expensive in the near future or the coin will have no value if it goes the other route. If Bitcoin goes the other route and has zero value on it then that just means the whole Bitcoin Project failed.
519  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Best wallet to receive bitcoin from a merchant ? on: June 12, 2017, 10:47:51 PM
If I had a merchant send me a large amount of bitcoin, should I have it sent to a wallet that has a low or high price ? Does it even matter. My 3 options are to have it sent to Gemini, coinbase or poloniex. If I were going to eventually send bitcoin from gemini to poloniex, should I just have it sent to polonoiex ?  Any help  greatly appreciated
The safest Bitcoin wallet that you can possibly get is a Bitcoin wallet that downloaded to your desktop. If your Bitcoin wallet is not online then there is less of a chance of it getting hacked by someone who wanted your Bitcoins.
I wouldn’t do any business if someone knew where my merchant Bitcoin address was located if I had one.
