501  Economy / Gambling / Re: BTCCRZY - THE ALL NEW BITCOIN STRATEGY GAME on: October 25, 2014, 05:00:04 PM
Wix.com its free domain

yes, it is. that is the problem. i need atleast 2 BTC to start a real site and i don't have that much.
So, sorry you have to adjust with this one for a lil while.

cheers Smiley
Maybe wordpress.org account + cheap shared hosting + domain name + headway 4.0 + this. You don't need to have a much to maintain a good website.
502  Economy / Services / Re: BitDice.me - Signature Campaign! [STARTED][ESCROWED] on: October 25, 2014, 04:52:29 PM
You should make giveaways like PrcDice did. For example 0.1 btc weekly to top 5 bettors on doge and btc dice.
503  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Things To Look for When Choosing an Exchange on: October 25, 2014, 04:43:34 PM
I'd much rather remove cex.io from this list. I am far to busy to do your research for you, but on there is ample evidence that they are criminals. They have been caught red handed double spending and abusing their mining power to attack Alt coin chains. They have even publicly admitted such. The evidence is there on the forums and in Google. And that's BEFORE this whole 51% thing blew up. In my opinion they are pretty much shady and dishonest to be the top trading platform choice.
504  Other / Politics & Society / Re: My resolution about internet websites and anonymity on: October 25, 2014, 04:32:10 PM
If you use proxy, you can visit whatever you want, except may be some sites - banks e.t.c.
if you want true security, don't use operating systems with the biggest number of zero-day exploits mac and windows
505  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Bioterrorism Ebola and AIDS on: October 25, 2014, 04:19:36 PM
The current Ebola outbreak is in West Africa, specifically Guinea, Sierra Leone, Liberia and Nigeria. Have a look at a map of Africa and you’ll see just how far away from Kenya these countries are. It’s like saying there’s an outbreak in Poland so you’re worried about going to Spain, Kenya hasn’t had anyone come down with the virus, so there is unlikely to be a travel advisory. No-one can guarantee it won't happen, but the disease is just as likely to spread to the UK or the Philippines, as it is to Kenya.
506  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: October 25, 2014, 03:55:34 PM
Theoretically this could be a double bottom for both BTC and XMR at the same time.

Let's hope so...
I wonder is there some relation to the Moolah bankruptcy and XMR tanking. A lot of people seem to have lost some XMR on the site due to "problems with the daemon" and it makes me think something funny is going on.
507  Other / Meta / Re: Bitcointalk forum app on: October 25, 2014, 03:21:09 PM
Im not sure if this is the right place for this or not but i think a forum app for the iphone would be pretty cool. This way when im at work "working" i can do something important like post in off topic about cats.

Anyone know who to talk to about getting a forum app?
Am i missing something or its already released?
508  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: 1 Uro coin = 1 tonne of urea on: October 25, 2014, 03:14:31 PM
Maybe I am missing something but isn't this how business works?  You wine and dine your clients/customers.  Fly them in, get them hookers etc.

until they get cought, just like HP in Russia and Poland recently.
Companies often pay bribes to win contracts. Many companies hide corrupt acts behind secret subsidiaries and partnerships (GES does that too)
Private companies are cruicle. So you are saying "let the tax payers pay for it", right?

Bohan once wrote "no chash handsout", "lessons learned from the past". "The NIERs are not OK with providing funds". "it usually ends with corrupt officials"
Thats what Bohan wrote when people asked him why have NIER's not fund the URO projects. And look what GES did now. Nilesh Nair is bankrupt! Does his trustee knows about these expenses?

LOL The generous Nilesh Nair and Bohan Huang. If you pay them money for the adoption they might break even. After all aren't they running this at a loss?? They have been kind enough to think of the poor farmers in India and Pakistan, they are almost giving them Uro for free, in exchange for something that smells so good.
509  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Are you all idiots? ...or what? on: October 25, 2014, 03:05:25 PM
unlike credit cards that have large equipment costs or subscription costs.. accepting bitcoin is cheap and free of contracts, thus even if they dont see customers use it for months, the business can still offer bitcoins without any worry about costs...
Unfortunately, that's not true.
There's a cost that comes with accepting Bitcoin, and that's mainly education, maintenance, controlling, bookkeeping. Those can easily add up to an amount where it's no longer justified to process Bitcoin payments below a certain threshold.
Also, under specific circumstances, where e.g. an online shop wants to offer a lot of different payment methods, the sheer amount of alternative payment methods may in fact lower the conversion rate of said shop. That's why shop designers usually don't want to clutter their shopping cart checkout with loads of rarely used payment methods.
It's quite possible that these other uses for Bitcoin will also boost its use as a currency because people will need bitcoins for escrow and for payment on the contractual deals they make.
It would be crazy for a retail shop to accept payment for a digital asset you can't claim back in fiat that can be charged back.
510  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is Apple Pay a threat to Bitcoin? on: October 25, 2014, 02:58:26 PM
ApplePay is only limited to the US, while there are lots of people in the rest of the world. So no, it's not a threat at all in the grand scheme of things.
Hehe don't forget one more thing, Apple's solution only works for US resident customers shopping at US merchants. A lots of people won't be able to use it when they visit the US they don't have a residence there. Still leaves the vast majority of the world untapped. At least PayPal works in more than one country.
511  Economy / Economics / Re: Is Bitcoin currency or goods? Fungible or not? on: October 25, 2014, 02:48:07 PM
Bitcoins are somewhat fungible, but not completely. It's like a family tree. You can't say "this bitcoin was at location Y 2 years ago" any more than you can say "Person X was 1000 years ago person Y". But you can say "This Bitcoin can be traced back to this transaction from 2 years ago" just like you can say "Person Y who lived 1000 years ago is an ancestor of person X".

Just like a person can have millions of ancestors and descendants, so can a bitcoin trace back or forward to millions of bitcoins. But since some bitcoins can be traced back to a particular transaction/address and some cannot, they are not completely fungible, and different bitcoins may be worth more or less.

Here is an example of someone offering to pay 2 "ordinary" bitcoins for 1 bitcoin that can be traced back to the historic transaction of buying pizza for 10K BTC.
512  Economy / Economics / Re: Monthly average USD/bitcoin price & trend on: October 25, 2014, 02:33:02 PM
Somebody dumped and the price reacted. But the reaction was little because the price starts to surge already again. Since the transaction volume and the price trend was stuck before this down trend was the best what could have happened for now. Maybe it would be good if the Bitcoin price would be drowned to 450 USD.
Bitcoin's price might be in decline now, but soon it will skyrocket! I think if people have more straight forward ways to buy Bitcoins, it will eventually help big time! We need more websites that trade Moneypak to Bitcoin, Paypal to Bitcoin etc.... Also, there are almost no traders that accept Credit cards, but i understand their fears of chargebacks.
513  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is up and people are like... on: October 25, 2014, 02:23:23 PM
I've got billions of bitcoins sitting in my mind. I own them all but I can't buy a dang thing with them. Will someone take them all for a dollar?
514  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Can i use VPS for mining? on: October 25, 2014, 02:15:49 PM
If you have VPS with root access, just connect to it via ssh, clone miner source from github, compile and its done. I've been used this for an entire week of mining http://www.qhoster.com/vps.html and never been banned.
515  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Patrick Byrne: Cryptocurrency Will Be Bigger Than the Internet Itself on: October 25, 2014, 02:08:42 PM
All of the Overstock customers now have their wealth destroyed by Bitcoin in their sleep last night. What a wonderful public relations tactic. Maybe when your suicide cult followers are all dead then your earnings will go up a whole quarter per share.
516  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Found a Major Security Flaw on: October 25, 2014, 01:06:43 PM
just let them know they should revise procedure management politics if an issue is not a technical one and get that bounty
517  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Core 0.9.3 has been released on: October 25, 2014, 12:59:32 PM
Is there truly a benefit to running Bitcoin Core, rather than another wallet software?
QT is not actually the most beneficial I would expect Armory to be a more secure solution than Bitcoin-Qt, because it allows you to sign the transactions from an offline computer.  This means that the private keys never need to be stored on a computer that is connected to the internet.
518  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Bitcoin is "NOT" Legal Tender According to IRS on: October 25, 2014, 12:46:46 PM
The problem with income tax is that it is becoming increasing difficult to define exactly what is taxable income. Thus the super-efficient IRS and our magnificent tax laws. I find it amusing to watch an agency stuck in the 70's trying to figure out what exactly bitcoin is. Ditto for just about anyone else over 50. Meanwhile, the "true" measure of all wealth (that would be the dollar) continues to devalue. Hey IRS!
519  Economy / Marketplace / Re: HYPERION ELECTRONICS - Buy Laptops, Rifle Scopes, Tv's & More (We take bitcoin) on: October 25, 2014, 12:34:42 PM
Is there a law for shipping  or being in possession of rifle scopes? At my college, they said having any part of a gun on you was illegal. Does a rifle scope count as the same?
From what i know, any person who knowingly buys, sells, receives, conceals, or has in his possession a sniperscope shall be guilty of a misdemeanor, punishable by a fine not to exceed one thousand dollars ($1,000) or by imprisonment in the county jail for not more than one year, or by both such fine and imprisonment.
520  Economy / Digital goods / Re: How much will Bitcoins.com sell for??? on: October 25, 2014, 12:27:16 PM
I'd much rather have more "Money in the pot" come distribution time and not some domain name. They speak for themselves on this one, and I don't understand their motivations, at all. Maybe their hoping to claim the domain for themselves or something? Weird.
