My IPO transaction is confirmed. Why you don't sent the coins?
You invested in phase 3 of IPO, so the time for the dev to send has not arrived yet (it is explained somewhere before in this thread or in the one made before the launch). I think it was 1 week for phase 1 investors, 2 weeks for phase 2 and 3 weeks for phase 3, but I could be wrong about the specific numbers.

You will release the source of the wallet, OK
- Will you release windows binaries?
- What algo?
- If it's not quark/scrypt/sha265/scrypt-jane .... will you release a standalone miner (including source code) at the same time you release the wallet?
The miner is already open source and it run x11. It was a bot, reusing post #18 from january (!) as its own: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=421615.msg4587423#msg4587423What is the purpose of having a bot post questions from 5 months ago? I don't get why people use energy for such things? It's weird! Only thing I can think of is the guy created the bot to spread FUD and doubt on the forums of coins that he wants to buy. He hopes that his bot will create the perception of confusion and doubt and thinks this will cause the price of the coin to go down so he can purchase at a lower price. Who knows, it might actually work a little on the pump type coins whose buyers are less knowledgeable and more short term in their thinking. Regardless, maybe we should take it as flattery that someone is working so hard to buy in. ![Grin](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/grin.gif) Or it is out of control and it is posting without a pattern because whoever did it didn't know what he was doing. When human stupidity can explain something difficult to understand, it is usually the correct explanation.

Is there a place I can point people to with typical questions like drk vs anon/zerocoin, will darkwallet kill darkcoin, why should I believe in darkcoin etc? I'm getting asked it quite often and don't have the time to search all through this thread.
You have some of that in the updated first message of this same thread... 1033 pages ago! https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=421615.msg4585001#msg4585001

I managed to convince a VPS service provider to start to accept Darkcoins ![Cheesy](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/cheesy.gif) They are running out of Iceland and have servers also in Sweden and Romania. Also really big on anonymity. This is a quote from theyr front page: "FlokiNET offers safe, anonymous and stable services. We will protect your project and privacy. Our main goals are freedom of speech and the right to privacy and anonymity. We offer solutions for any kind of secure communication, data transport and anonymous publishing." They are also running several TOR nodes ![Wink](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/wink.gif) Go cancel your amazon masternode VPS and sign up with FlokiNET and pay with your Darkcoins http://www.flokinet.is/They also accept BTC, LTC, AUR if you dont want to part with your DRK There is not yet a Darkcoin logo on theyr frontpage but hopfully you will see it there soon. If you want to sign up and pay with DRK just send them a email telling them that you want to do so info@flokinet.is and Einar Jóhannsson will take care of you. If you mention my name in the Email you might get some better deal That is awesome, thanks! A coin is not a coin if it can't be used... although I think that all of us believe in DRK so much that we don't want to spend it ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) I agree that moving some masternodes from amazon and digital ocean to smaller ISPs should be a goal to have a more distributed network.

is the coin you were mining not finding blocks?
Nothing to do with mining, this is just the client. The *coin code does not seem to be very good at resolving a fork situation. Just curious... why do you keep then open?

i dont know why I'm this excited, I'm not going to get my 2nd node by the time my funds clear)
I always have mixed feelings when price goes up. I'm glad that my DRK is more valuable, but I'm sad I haven't had time to hoard more (also just under 2k). I have no intention of selling in the short term, so if I could choose I think I would like the price to stay low for some more time... but I can't... so let's enjoy the ride!!! ![Grin](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/grin.gif)

Not for me. Just checked.

stupidest fucking coin idea ever. it all happens in the future.
It is weird and it may go to hell --along with most other cryptos--, but many great things looked stupid in the beginning. Why not give it a chance? You have to admit that, at least, this is not another copycat.

To be fair, I also predict some gnashing of teeth from myself, because I could pick up a lot more DRK, it's just that the wife would certainly kill me if it all went wrong.
Wives love fiat ![Wink](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/wink.gif) Mine has stopped asking and I have stopped telling ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif)

I've been busy. Just looked and woosh so many comments, which is great, but I'm a bit confused about how to proceed. There are a lot of competing views. It's to be expected but makes it a bit hard to get anywhere. I guess I'll go through it again and try to find where the consensus lies.
Do whatever you believe is right. Everyone "knows" about design, so the number of opinions will be as high as the number of people. You are the one doing it, you know better.

It depends on what crashing means. Argentina has already defaulted on their debts recently and many people hoard USD instead of Argentinan pesos. Inflation in probably higher than official data shows. Politics is broken since decades ago. To me that seems like they have already crashed.

All we need now is rc2 to come. To the moon ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) For dummies please, what is RC2 ?? tx Release Candidate 2. Last week RC1 was launched and RC2 should be here soon.

For a coin to be adopted by any sector it is not enough with wanting it. The team maybe skilled in computer science (or not, I don't know them), but you need more than that. You don't have any connection with the entertainment sector that gives you any credibility.

Guys, if we want the DRK price to stabilize at higher levels then believers of DRK should not sell around 20 looking to buy again around 15. This "shorting" technique is fine but I think is counterproductive at this point. Lets hold and if you want more DRK just pay the current prices which is a great investment anyway, that way we dont create extra selling pressure. Just my 2 duffs.
+99 Yup, but I think there is no way to avoid this: -DRK has one of the most clear price channels between the serious coins, so day traders and other speculators will always be around. -Some early entrants have a lot and some are full time dedicated to this project (please let's not get into that discussion again). It is normal that, if they are unloading a part, they want to optimize it. We all would do the same.

As said in the previous comment, this is probably not the best moment to launch an IPO. I too like what you propose, but I find it difficult to trust people I don't know if you don't show more. I understand that you have jobs, but anonymity is a no-no for me if you want my money. Regarding percentages, the higher the better for success of an IPO. As for the time of distribution, four years is too much, but I like it not being purely premined, so I'd say one to two years.

The best way to get an answer that is to start at cbp.gov and find a way to contact someone to ask them, because what matters is what they think, not what the other departments think. Personally, if I were travelling to the US, I would go to that site, find a way to contact the appropriate department there, get a response, print it out, and keep it with me in case my laptop was examined and bitcoin did come up.
That's the best approach, but it is highly unlikely that you will get written answers to the questions because no one knows. Even if you get answers, the official in charge of letting you in may think differently and none of us can know what he'll do. Be cautious! and update this thread if you get any info from them.

Somewhere in this forum there is a pre announcement of Munich Project (it's a coin but they still don't have a name). They propose something similar to what I think you say: IPO investors get their share spread during the first four years to avoid dumpers.
