501  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: BITBURNER FURY Technical discussion on: January 21, 2014, 08:25:08 PM
I have one Bitburner Fury which has been running fine for months, but the USB port finally snapped off. What are my options, if any?

503  Economy / Goods / Re: Laser Engraved Bitcoin/Litecoin Cards (Public ID and BIP38 encrypted cards) on: January 20, 2014, 03:21:48 AM
Got mine yesterday, they're great! Edges just a bit rough, but very high quality overall. They're pretty much exactly how they seem from the website.

Posted about them here: http://object2212.com/?p=10

These are both beautiful designs, but the pig is sheer genius!

I go to BTC from some HYIP project where i lost 33000$ last year. It's not trolling, just my opinion - eligius have 300 BTC on credit before database collision, now after 30+ blocks more than 1 000 000 dollars on credit... IMHO, it's scam already, you just give him more and more and more !

(not sure where I used the term "database collision"....?)

Seriously?  You're going to try and accuse the most open of all of the mining pools of being a scam? I literally lol'd.  Feel free to give your coins to some closed pool with fees if you like.

For the record, every Eligius block pays at least 1 satoshi to the Eligius cold wallet for stats/tracking purposes.  Everything paid to the cold wallet from blocks found is eventually distributed to miners (even the individual satoshis!).

Admittedly, this will probably be the largest manual payout ever once everything is back in working order, but it will be done just the same as all the others.

Ok, software, server or DDoS collision, thats sounds better ? I talk only my opinion about that situation, situation looks like scam, smell like scam, etc. IMHO.

A very humble opinion. Like bugs are humble. And mud is humble.

Got my blade yesterday, and it's currently hashing at ~11GH/s. Setup was easy, essentially the same as an AM Blade (which is in the background in the pic.)

This shipped as soon as I ordered it. In-stock counts for a lot. Thanks!

I had a 1/7 order, and I received tracking info today -- and the package is in motion.
509  Economy / Goods / Re: Stainless steel bitcoin cold storage wallets on: January 17, 2014, 12:25:56 AM
I would be wary of any newbie selling could be the same people and scam, do they offer escrow?

Hey zolace, no we do not offer escrow, as we're an ecommerce site, not just a forum member here. With the amount of orders we have received in our time since launch, it would be crazy to handle! We are new to the bittalk community, but have already shipped many orders. We launched our product after about a month of research, and on the day after we launched, this coldcoin site was registered, and started advertising with photoshopped images of their cards. Im assuming they just saw our idea and decided to give it a shot, but who knows! As for the "not enough demand" reasoning, unless they had expectations that were way to high, we've found the demand to be more than expected.

We've defiantly received a lot of interest from the community, but a lot of scepticism as well after this coldcoins incident. That is why we are waiting until people from this community have received their orders before we advertise much more. Keep checking the forums over the next few days, I'm sure people will start reporting their orders!

Crypto Cards

First, let me clarify, I am not the “coldcoins” guy you’re speaking of. I’m just an unfortunate predecessor of the same name. Someone who has invested a considerable amount into a creating a remarkably unique cold storage collectible, under the ColdCoin name, before this unfortunate experiment.

I find it interesting that Chris Sweeting registered his domain a day after you announced your product.

I also find it interesting that he announced his product a few hours later. Just enough time to throw up a nice website and copy. Not long enough, however , to get manufacturing worked out or to even create a prototype (exceptions noted).

I find it interesting, yet likely a true coincidence, that he registered the coldcoins.co domain 6 days AFTER I registered the www.coldco.in .

And lastly (but not finally), I find it interesting that he registered the “coldcoins” username here just hours after I registered “ColdCoin.”

I presume he had intentions of creating a trusted and sustainable venture. I also figure the simplest explanation is he got ahead of himself and discovered unforeseen challenges after he had orders lining up. I don’t know. I made that up.

I find it disappointing though, that rather than owning the problem and making it right, right away, he appears to have disappeared from the forums and left a lot of people in the in the dark who still want to give him the benefit of the doubt.

Unfortunately, I discovered his product announcement while our first edition physical coins were well into the minting process. I already wrote the mint a hefty check (they declined to accept bitcoin).

I was pretty bummed to share the name, but I just figured the free market would work it out. I guess it has, but I’ll be answering to his reputation for quite some time.

Really I just wanted to say 2 things… no 3.

1)   I’m not him, he’s not me. 2 similar yet very different products.
2)   If you have ordered a metal card from coldcoins.co, and have not received a refund, I will give you one of our first run cold storage coins. Free. Just PM me your receipt info and I’ll take care of you (i hope there are very very few of you ;-)
3)   Once again, we are coldco.in . No affiliation whatsoever with coldcoins.co

-Shane

He didn't just leave people in the dark -- he took their money, so that's theft.

I'm interested in seeing what you've come up with, and have sent you a pm.
510  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [GROUP BUY WORLDWIDE]BTMine v1 Miner 200GH/s BTC 2.4 on: January 16, 2014, 04:34:53 PM
I ordered on the 7th, i have had no reply, no private message, no email. OP has 'disappeared', this appears to be falling apart.

I have received several responses, via email, pm and Skype. No tracking number yet, but BTMine has been very responsive.

I wasn't bad mouthing you.I was just saying that the website was new and the user was new. I was just warning of a possible scam. That's all. Good luck.  Cool

Implying that your competitor is scamming its customers is bad mouthing their reputation. Not to classy.

Sorry if you honestly didn't not have such intentions. I was just upset and a little shocked to see such comments.

Cheers

Its all good man. Sorry if i offended you.  Cool  I didn't mean truly nothing bad.

I think we were just all pretty irritated when coldcoins.co bailed after such a short time, and then said it will take weeks to do refunds. We'll see how that goes.

But it's great to see others working on this idea, it is a solid idea!
