504  Economy / Speculation / Re: So, everyone knows about Bitcoin now... why isn't the price going up? on: April 15, 2013, 09:56:07 PM
Nobody knows about Bitcoins!

I remember visiting a seminar once hosted by a nationally recognised marketing guy who was explaining to a room full of businessmen how to grow their business in the shortest period of time, with the use of very high class marketing.

He went to the trouble of explaining every single thing a business would need to do to get themselves up a level on the media radar - and at the end he predicted that less than 5% of people in the room would follow the plan!

So, why would someone who just saw a news report between something about a celebrity and the sport about some risky business related thing (bitcoin) go to the trouble that you need to go to to just own one?

This really is a long game and we are only in the first half, of the first game of the season!

I THINK THIS ABOUT SUMS IT UP thanks NWbitcoin,

people are not at all savvy about bitcoins yet not even the news head that is talking about it. also don't be scared about the price doping. I know that it sucks especially if you bout in high but i remember buying them for 2 and 5 dollars just months ago and of cores i spent them. i got some coins around twenty and 50 and 140 and 200 i bout some at 230 even, the whole time thinking "man if i only put in 2k in when they were 2 dollars each and i would have made 200,000.00 " well i got my wish, this will probably go down a bit more and when people start buying a few at say 60 or 70 then they will see it go up to 80 and 90 and more will buy then it will be 100 - 110 and people will start getting excited about it again. this will be in the 800 no problem. no not tomorrow, no not in a month, no not in two months but it will get there and you will be glad you bought some at 80.

dont be that guy (like me) who lives his life with the prefix of "if only i would have bought when it was 80" when it does go to 800 and it most likely will by years end (October November)you will 10x your money. 100=1,000 1,000=10,000 ---------your tax return 1684.92 will be 16,849.20. its up to you-

oh and when you bank on this, buy something with your profits, don't sell, find a retailer who sells what you want ie flat screen tv- you wont pay taxes on it!!! ya buddy more money saved. and  you will be suporting the bitcoin market.

K thats all from me, what do i know though I have no crystal ball, I just see trends and devote 8 + hours a day studying the one and only amazing bitcoin.

This will get me banned probably but I can't take it anymore!!  BITINSTANT WILL TAKE YOUR 500 AND NEVER CALL YOU OR GIVE YOU YOUR MONEY!!!!!!!!!!!!!! OVER A WEEK AND STILL NOTHING!!! I HATE BITINSTANT

on Saturday, no not yesterday but a week from yesterday, Saturday the 6th! I bought a 503.95 BITINSTANT money transfer to my account on Bitstamp. I have done this several times and some of them took more than an hour one took almost a whole day. but this one has taken OVER A WEEK!!!

This is an outrage! you can't just take someones money and not give them anything, not a phone call, not a message, not any bitcoins, not any money! ridiculous!

I have called several times with several messages, have done the insta message thing...live chat that is NOT live. have filled out the new form a few times and still no money.

I have asked the wonderful people on here what to do and they told me to PM charly on here so i did, several times, asking, pleading with him to review my case.

the automated email got from bitinstant minutes after i deposited the 500 to zipzap stated this

"""APIResponse: {"error": {"amount": ["You have only $-47.04 available. Check your account balance for details."]}}"""

how can this be when i just gave them cash money.

i have given bitinstant
1)cash
2)the benifit of the doubt, maybe they just got behind no big ill just wate a day
3)my phone number and email to contact me so we can work this out
4) all neccicery order numbers and documentation proving i paid the 5 one hunderd dollar bills
5) patients ...

#2and#5 have ran out!  the only respons that i got was yester day one full week after the deposit (and a lot has happend in that week!) it is as follows.

'"Our reserves are currently depleted at Bitstamp, but as soon as they are replenished I will issue a manual transfer. Sorry for the delay.

 ---
 Sincerely,
 Seth"'

FUNDS DEPLETED!?!!?!?! I GAVE YOU CASH. FIVE HUNDRED AND THREE DOLLARS AND 95 CENTS. THIS IS BULLSHIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

DO NOT USE BITINSTANT UNLESS YOU WANT TO BE RIPPED OFF AND YOUR MONEY TO DISSAPEAR AND HAVE NOBODY CALL OR WRITE YOU TO RESOLVE THE MATTER. F BITINSTANT. THEY RIPPED ME OFF

Why do you think this will get you banned?!

cuz i posted it in most forums....6-7.  and from my experience they don't like it when you say anything bad about bitcoin providers or vendors or services of bitcoin. I cant belive it take more than a week and two days and no body wants to contanct me. so if they are behind dont you think they would have cought up to over a week old problem by now?
506  Economy / Speculation / Re: Low bid orders and preparing for a crash (again). on: April 15, 2013, 06:02:44 PM
Personally , i never set bids for future crash. You never know how low it'll go.

That's why you set staggered buy orders all the way down...you don't know how low it will go or where it will settle, but you can lower your cost basis quite a bit and possibly profit on the bounce (or by holding mid to long term depending on your own investment strategy).

so your not a bear your a bounce. all you want is to make money off the bounce. a bear want it to go down and down and down. well you would spend alot of money on eventualy.000000000000000001 penny per bit. no bear is a true bear they are a bounce. they want to buy cheep coins and when they go UP they will profit. well. so. a bounce hugh. not a bear a bounce.  Cool
507  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: I CANT TAKE IT ANYMORE AUGHHH on: April 15, 2013, 03:11:36 AM
Hmm. This puts a dent in my plans to cash out through Bitinstant's Paypal manager. Their reviews page is just awful too, but I thought I'd be able to handle it. What are other ways that I can cash out to USD? I'd prefer the quickest method over the "least percentile fee" method.

try coinbase. they only charge 1% fee not 4% like bitinstant. it does take a bit for them to verify your account like 2-3 day set up. after that they transfer into your account just like that.

Heyyyyyyyy ... when's THIS bubble gonna pop?  Cheesy

the earth will become a tiring and chaotic place full of people (increasingly where life has less value) and either governments fail us or they institute population control.

humans are profoundly irresponsible when it comes to reproduction.

sounds horrible but when there is a natural disaster and lots go away....yet sad and horrible for those families, you have to agree that it is a necessary evil. never mind you don't have to agree with it. its a horrible thing but in general this earth is about done with people and it will continue to throw things at us to reduce and control the population. IMO thats why dr are not good people. they are messing with what nature and millions of years of evolution has planed. that is the natural processes of natural selection. you let people live that otherwise would not have without the modern technologies of medicine and medical advancements then you continue to have a population overwhelming the earth in every way imaginable. there will be consequences for such blatant disregard for this amazing place we have been given to live.
511  Economy / Speculation / Re: Prediction for this coming week, BTC to $150 by Friday 19-04-2013 on: April 14, 2013, 05:41:56 AM
WOW... I'm amazed also. Based on your brief posting history here I figured you would be one of our new permabears. Seems you are more reasonable than that. I think being perma anything is a tad extreme, leaves no room for error. hehe Grin

I've never been perma-anything other than perma-right Smiley
So far, I haven't been wrong about a single prediction I've made on this forum yet.

I held when people were selling at 160 and 190.
I sold at 235 the morning before the bubble burst.
When it burst and dropped to 150, people said buy, but I said it would continue to sub-100.
At 79 I bought up and sold at 100+.
I correctly stated yesterday's run-up to 130 was a bull trap, and it's since dropped to 100.

I've been right every single time, and I will be right on this. We will see 150+ by week's end, possibly 160. From there it will stabilize and slowly appreciate, no bubble burst this time Smiley

cocky much....i hear yay will do that to ya though.
512  Economy / Speculation / Re: The Crash Then and Now - 2011 v 2013 how big are the differences? on: April 14, 2013, 05:36:28 AM
The big difference between now and 2011?...a new group of suckers.

Same get rich quick attitude, same "new paradigm" talk, just different people.

What's old is new again.  Roll Eyes

Says the guy who:

1. Has  bitcointalk forum account

2. Has  bitcoin address in his signature

hmm yes you can be a part of that vision too lol.

God damn it smoothie! you always say what I want to! haha. Smoothie FTW

so a bear that wants coins to drop to 10 no to 5 no to 1 no to 25 cents no to .00000001 no even lower. even though you have a bitcoin add as a signature, "hey give me your bitcoins so I can not make money off them". tell me mr bear at what point do you stop being a bear and become a bull? if its up to you they would be as worthless as a picture of a bear in a dollar bill? if your wish comes true then you will have to troll some other Internet sight.... does the DOW or S&P 500 have little forums dedicated to there cause? how adorable you would be in there, with your little avatar picture and your whitty contributions. and at the bottom you could have your stock account number so people can give you money or stocks for the stock you are complaining about.
513  Economy / Speculation / Re: The coin is stable! Stop speculating and start spending! on: April 14, 2013, 05:11:35 AM
Sorry. I appreciate your enthusiasm, but nothing about Bitcoin will be stable for years to come.

I wish it could be different. I really do. But it can't.

cool a cristal ball..... i always wanted one of those

no realy though i think the day its stable is the day im done with bitcoins. 5-6 years.

hooorayyyy!!! haha I know I give you shit but I give everyone shit on here . seriously though i like this story and I agree many many many more people are trying to get in to this bitcoin thing but it takes a week or two to get it all set up to rock and roll. when the money start in and i mean a crazy lot of money we are going to see huge gains, not just from high rollers but the middle class the one that say hey i think ill take a shot at this for a grand or two. telling ya its the calm before the storm.

sick bull pick too!!!!! gotta have that for my profile pic haha

Panglossian drivel.

your amazing - cheers mate.
517  Economy / Speculation / Re: Do you think BTC has settled around $100? on: April 14, 2013, 01:52:21 AM
Normally, I'd agree, since people tend to seriously discount the psychological power of familiar, even numbers, like $100.  But there are far more powerful market forces at work, in both directions.  I think we've got some serious tugging yet to happen, in both directions, before things settle down again.  A few days, at a minimum.

Then, provided its mainstream image can emerge untarnished enough, hopefully a slow, steady upward march can resume.

+1 thankyou I agree. the tugging will give way to buyers though. to the moon by end of year. you will only wish yo had bout your 100 coins now and not at 1,486.(next big drop)
518  Economy / Speculation / Re: News Just In! Bitcoin crash not caused by rush to sell, but by rush to buy!!! on: April 14, 2013, 01:46:28 AM
Translation: OP has lots of BTC and wants to pump the price up

why are yo not suporting him you sold out and so why not huuurrraaa this! so you can buy back in at a lower rate.

btw did you ever buy anything with all your coins you had??? just a question dont hate on me
519  Economy / Speculation / Re: Crash will bottom at $30, you heard it hear first. on: April 14, 2013, 01:43:53 AM
LOL now that you said it the price will never go that low for very long or ever at all.

SMOOTHIE- your my hero Smiley
520  Economy / Speculation / why bitcoins are going to succeed, the reason nobody is talking about. on: April 14, 2013, 01:42:21 AM
an amazing thread I just wanted to share -

First of all, Bitcoin is going to make it to the mainstream because of the HUMAN FACTOR - Incentive. People are always talking about the pitfalls of the current system - the laggy centralized exchanges, the instability, no decentralized exchange, the fiat payment problems etc. All these problems are going to be solved over time. How? Incentive. Consider who these early adopters are. These speculators include some of the brightest technical and creative minds in the world today, all working and helping each other to solve the same problems. They all own Bitcoins, all their potential fortunes are tied to communally solving these dilemmas, they gain nothing from secrecy and competition, and they are not going to fail. See, this is very new.

Before, a startup company may have hired or included the best coders and strategists they could find, perhaps offered them future stock options to provide incentive to work harder. But these projects were not made public because they needed privacy, otherwise ideas and information might be stolen and used by possible competitors. But in doing so they missed out on the input of the world talent pool.

On the other end of the spectrum are open source Internet projects. Everybody come and work as you please - projects. But because these projects were open to the public, there was no central company to fund any of these coders. Sure, they no doubt worked hard, as it was a hobby or a personal cause - but that nowhere near matches the Bitcoin project momentum. An open source project to replace the currency system for the financial benefit of everyone involved, with the brightest minds in the world able to hop on as they please.

So yes, you are going to have the best, brightest, and richest working towards a common goal. All the while little people - like me - cheer them on, doing whatever little things we can to help(advertising), praying that they succeed.
Microsoft, Google, IBM have never been able to match such a workforce.
We already have more "working employees", all incentivized with "stock options", than they EVER will. You must understand, this is the first project of it's kind in human history. All these petty beginning-stage problems will be overcome - why? Simply because because for the first time we all WANT them to be overcome. You must account for the solutions to problems that we don't understand yet - because they are being attacked by a motivated workforce quality we have never seen before. The problems will eventually be solved, and this is why Bitcoin will make it to the mainstream.

Now once Bitcoin does get there(or perhaps just before) we will run into a problem that many people have pointed out. Market instability. Hoarding by the rich investors, the people who have 10's of thousands of Bitcoins. Detractors rightly say that these overly rich early speculators will simply have too much damn money for there to be room for a stable economy. The graphs bounce with every move they make. However, you are still thinking in terms of the archaic currencies we use today. New systems require new ways of thinking. If this problem is obvious to you, do you not think it is obvious to them and their financial advisers as well?

In the present archaic system these activities continue because the government can just print more currency in order to balance or stimulate the economy, and keep these barons in power. Since this is not possible with Bitcoin, the ultra rich will be forced to do it out of their own pocket. No choice. It is now in their best interest - if they want to have a market to spend those billions in. They will have to spend of some of their money to stimulate the economy in order make their wealth usable, and the distribution of wealth will equal out slightly. The market will stabilize. And because there will be no bureaucracy to support these billionaires' financial staying power, finally the little people will have a chance to make their own fortunes out of hard work and ingenuity in a truly free market. The rich will have to maintain their wealth in the same way.
This is an unprecedented turn of history. It is an evolutionary stage of society that cannot be stopped. To you soon-to-be-rich: remember your responsibilities.
We are finally all in this together.

My fellow humans, Welcome to Bitcoin.

( full disclosure I copied pasted this from bobdude17 and IMO it was just to good to not put where the majority of people go on this forum...or at least i thought more people should see this. just wanted to share it and I hope i do not insult the original post person (bobdude17) but imitation is the best form of flattery, THANK YOU! )  Grin Grin Grin Grin
