5002  Other / Politics & Society / Re: China Increases Arrests After Repatriating 20 to North Korea on: August 12, 2014, 10:35:02 PM
Chinese are starting to complain about illegal North Koreans who are undercutting the Chinese wages, so I think that's the reason behind the arrests.

Interesting how that argument works in China and not in America. It's not like the people we should be deporting would be going to prison camps for life.
5003  Other / Politics & Society / Exclusive: Obama Told Lawmakers' Criticism of His Syria Policy is 'Horsesh*t' on: August 12, 2014, 10:32:35 PM

...
Just before the congressional recess, President Obama invited over a dozen Senate and House leaders from both parties to the White House to talk about foreign policy. According to two lawmakers inside the meeting, Obama became visibly agitated when confronted by bipartisan criticism of the White House’s policy of slow-rolling moderate Syrian rebels’ repeated requests for arms to fight the Assad regime and ISIS.

According to one of the lawmakers, Sen. Bob Corker asked the president a long question that included sharp criticisms of President Obama’s handling of a number of foreign policy issues—including Syria, ISIS, Russia, and Ukraine. Obama answered Corker at length. Then, the president defended his administration’s actions on Syria, saying that the notion that many have put forth regarding arming the rebels earlier would have led to better outcomes in Syria was “horseshit.”

On one hand, the critics are saying slowing arm shipments to these so-called rebels made ISIS and co better off. Obama say horseshit. But, a year or so ago we all knew these rebels were terrorists that were taking on Assad and now they've mutated or shapeshifted to the point that they're now most likely ISIS or closely related. In reality, this is a phony dichotomy as both policies here have benefited these terrorist rebels that are now having carte blanche in this region all the while being propped up originally by the CIA. When times are slow (peace) the black ops get busy to shuffle up the deck and pull out the aces to get the MIC rolling again in profits or at minimum, strike up domestic sentiments when they've tired of intervention. Just like the immigration crises, buff up the humanitarian situation making it an easier pill to swallow. Then once digested, focus can be turned away from domestic issues by the daily news circuit.

A group of North Korean defectors arrested last month in China were repatriated at the beginning of August, according to a diplomatic source.

“The group was repatriated via the Tumen River at the beginning of this month,” the source told Daily NK on August 12. He explained that repatriation procedure times vary but generally proceed a week after being taken into custody.

The 20 defectors, arrested by plainclothes security police in the Shandong and Yunnan Provinces of China, consist of four families, including a couple in their 60s, a baby, and others in their 20s and 30s.

Six Chinese guides assisting the group and a North Korean defector with South Korean citizenship were also apprehended at the time. “He will face charges in China but as far as we know will not be repatriated,” the source reported.

This incident closely follows another group repatriation, thought to have occurred at the end of July, of 11 people caught in Yanji and the nearby border town of Tumen.

China appears to be ramping up efforts to arrest North Korean defectors living there; the crackdown extends not only to recently defected individuals, but to those who have resided for longer periods of time in the country.

As you're sitting there perusing BTCtalk and wanting to punch something because the price hasn't gone to the moon yet, just sit back and think what lies ahead for these unlucky and ill-fated people thanks to the glorious Chinese government. Translate that w/ the criminal elements and otherwise making their way into America along the open southern border thanks to President Zero. I'll answer my first comment for you: 5-10 years in hard labor or reeducation camps where you're fed the equivalent of a bowl of rice (if you're lucky) as your entire meal for the day, working yourself to the bone for 12-16 hrs a day, beaten like an animal, forcible abortions or worse. Some will never see another day of 'freedom' again living in the DPRK. And, this is just a small sample size I came across today. Think about the ~quarter million that are living in these camps right now and have been for years or all their lives. Now, go ahead and vent your own problems or concerns. Lips sealed
5005  Other / Politics & Society / Spanish Priest, Being Treated For Ebola In A Madrid Hospital, Has Died on: August 12, 2014, 09:50:12 PM

A Spanish priest being treated for the Ebola virus at the Carlos III Hospital in Madrid died on Tuesday, Associated Press reported, citing hospital officials. Miguel Pajares had contracted the disease while he was working at the San Jose de Monrovia Hospital in Liberia's capital city, and was airlifted to Madrid last week.

Earlier reports had said that the 75-year old Pajares was to be treated with ZMapp, an untested drug being used in the treatment of two Americans infected with the virus. The Spanish drug safety agency had said that the government chose to make an “exceptional importation” of ZMapp because the patient could not be "treated satisfactorily with an authorized medication."

ZMapp, which is manufactured by Mapp Biopharmaceutical Inc., of San Diego, is being used to treat two Americans at Atlanta's Emory University Hospital, but was never tested on a human being before the latest outbreak. The Ebola virus has killed more than 1,000 people and has affected 1,848 people in West Africa, according to estimates from the United Nations.

On the original sign up form I didn't list a BTC wallet addy as I figured adding on the claim form would be sufficient. Also, the duplicate sign up forms had me semi-confused until someone here clarified the matter to get me through. I checked back to see if stunna had me listed and he did.

Great to hear considering it's these business-to-business transactions that will drive considerable blockchain volumes on a more regular basis. Plus, getting more of the business class into BTC will create more demand for it and they'll be part of a new genre of people that have the means to buy into it more especially at elevated prices.

Creating more conflicts for the future and more armaments already in place to be used when needed.

Rand Paul Comments on Military Strikes in Iraq[/b

Quote
...

Paul spoke to several from the Campbellsville Chamber of Commerce about a number of issues including the situation in Iraq.

"I have mixed feelings about it. I'm not saying I'm completely opposed to helping with arms or maybe even bombing, but I am concerned that ISIS is big and powerful because we protected them in Syria for a year. Do you know who also hates ISIS and who is bombing them? Assad, the Syrian government. So a year ago, the same people who want to bomb ISIS wanted to bomb Syria last year. Syria and ISIS are on opposite sides of the war. We're now bombing both sides of one war that has spread into another country," said Paul.

Time to bring the troops home, and defend our country!
"We're now bombing both sides of one war that has spread into another country," said Paul.
^^^When Rand explains things that clearly you really see how he can be a great candidate.
True, you don't have to show your hand like his dad did/does regarding foreign policy and allow people to outright dismiss you or allow the media to demagogue you. Just let the facts speak for themselves w/o giving a one-sided radical statement. It's the chamber of commerce republicans that he needs to not be actively against him like they were his old man. Thread the needle when needed.
5010  Other / Politics & Society / Re: ~~~ Homeless Veterans ~~~ on: August 12, 2014, 09:24:18 PM
You don't really have to listen to the song but the on screen lyrics speaks alot with how our society and government works.
I think homeless veterans in our country shows some harsh reality.. when nobody can use your skills, you can get in such situation. It's rather shameful, you think you do something good for your country, but in the end the country doesn't care.
If you get into the military and are able to learn a skill (mechanic, cook, logistics, etc) you'll be well suited and able to get a job on the outside plus you're likely to not have seen active combat which could wind you up w/ mental issues. We all know that illegal immigrants get way better health treatment than veterans get so you might get the "thank you for your service" routine if you've served in combat but not much else.
5011  Economy / Speculation / Re: The end is coming. on: August 12, 2014, 07:47:19 PM
Just as I expected. Lets compare coins with their respective aths.
Btc 560 - 1200 dollar
Ppc 0,7 - >10 dollar.    LOOOOL
NMC 1,3 - 16 dollar
Ltc 4 - 47 dollar

We need to realize that the dumpings will continue. BTV will survive but it seems altcoins are losing the battle.
Lol at PPC specifically. It will get to 0,0 soon.

Yeah......the ultimate fate of the shitcoins was always pretty obvious but the way Litecoin is going is surprising me. It just seemed somehow to be the natural order of things that Litecoin would be #2 to Bitcoin, but it seems that there is only Bitcoin. Litecoin is just another shit-coin with zero practical uptake.

Nothing besides BTC has any staying value as all the eco-crypto VC money is going into BTC peripherals. Namecoin might have some value because they have some payment thing going w/ making websites but even that's a bit murky in my memory. Furthermore, the shitcoins have been popping up like weeds for the last year and people are getting sick of the pump and dumps which is what nearly all of them are and thus have taken the wind out of the alt market imo. I still have a friend that jumps from one coin to the next hoping to make some extra BTC by playing it right but is usually left holding juju beans. There's always some cool PR video being passed around by the swindlers of these new coins and they always play-up certain alleged advantages that end up fooling the unseasoned minds.
5012  Other / Politics & Society / Re: O using Americans in Iraq as ‘collateral’ to maintain Dem support for airstrikes on: August 12, 2014, 07:42:13 PM
To elaborate even further, these sources from Congress are acting like the Prez is doing his own thing again and they have no idea where this authority is coming from on the heels of Prez 0 attempting to get rid of AUMF in Iraq. When in actuality, it's the CIA that's meddling under the table and behind the scenes creating the conflict on one hand and then arming the other side on the other. I feel bad for civilians that are operating in a government capacity in areas where the CIA is operating and dealing arms w/ terrorists.
5013  Other / Politics & Society / Re: U.S. Aircraft Strike ISIS Targets in Iraq on: August 12, 2014, 07:38:56 PM
In relation to the article post by umair^ it seems that much of these light armaments are of Russian origin. Like, CIA sources are sitting on random caches of these in unknown areas just waiting to funnel these in under the table. Should be obvious to most people by now what kind of actions this CIA is usually involved in. They likely funded, armed and trained these so-called militants/rebels/terrorist ISIS motherfuckers in or around Jordan to beef them up to claim certain parts of Syria who now crept into Iraq to destabilize once again making the case or need to arm/support the opposition that fully completes the circle that they originally started to begin with.

US to directly arm Kurdish peshmerga forces in bid to thwart Isis offensive

Weaponry, said to be light arms and ammunition, to be brokered though CIA who are better positioned to supply militia

The Obama administration has announced it will arm the militia forces of Iraqi Kurdistan, to prevent the fall of the final bastion of pro-US territory in Iraq.

The weaponry is said to be light arms and ammunition, brokered not through the Department of Defense – which supplies Baghdad and its security forces with heavy weaponry – but the CIA, which is better positioned to supply the Kurdish peshmerga with Russian-made guns like AK-47s that the US military does not use. The news was first reported by the Associated Press.

Acting on his own again. He needs media headlines to read that American civilians are being killed to justify doing this thing all over again. Neocons want to go all in again for MIC profits so in reality, they're all on the same side. Congress just sits back and does nothing as usual even though they control the purse strings, or they used to.

5017  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Top Obama Aide: Rand Paul Is ‘Most Intriguing’ Republican on: August 12, 2014, 07:19:23 PM
If you vote Libertarian then you're throwing away your vote. In other words, if you vote Libertarian then you don't care about the election results.

Voting isn't about choosing the perfect candidate. Its about doing everything you can to help your country. In this country the GOP is the only decent option.

So you vote for the one you think will win instead of the one you want to win? That's a waste of a vote and it perpetuates the problem, it also undermines the purpose of hosting an election at all... Officials could just be appointed based on "popular opinion."

An honest vote is never wasted. To give up without effort is weak minded and feeble. If you want to vote Republican, then vote Republican... Don't tell Libertarians not to vote Libertarian.

Please vote honestly.
I used to be of that mindset until Ron Paul ran for President in '08 and created the Campaign for Liberty with the expressed plan of restoring the GOP to its roots of the non-intervention era of Mr. Republican Sen. Taft. And also, there was sound monetary and fiscal policies in the GOP back then where it was the Democrats stemming from the Wilson era that were the big government growers leading to Roosevelt's New Deal.

Many formerly libertarians that thought they were all alone became energized and began working w/i the GOP by getting elected as precinct delegates then going to county, district and state conventions to pick national delegates, nat'l cmte-persons, and state and local party leaderships. Since then, there's been a fair amount of libertarian republicans elected to local, state and federal offices more so than ever before in modern times. I spend 10 years of my youth meandering in the Libertarian Party and was so excited to get a few %s more in the next election for whatever office. But now, I'm seeing much more success spending my money and time to push for getting libertarian republicans elected. Things won't change overnight but like a marathon, you take it steady and never quit especially if you're achieving results and making the power money fight you and still winning. Just got reelected to my delegate position in last week's primary and will be active in picking nat'l delegates to go to the RNC for the Presidential nomination in 2016.

The guy definitely is pretty smart but that likely takes away from his charisma. But, he did drive home the nuts and bolts about the passage of time and ir-reversibility which is what Bitcoin is all about. Abundant resources chasing a finite medium of exchange necessitates the rise in price presuming the market cap keeps expanding.

Nice opinion piece. Most of the commentors are ignorant, though.

What's new? Most of the comments I see on non-bitcoin specific sites are full of ignoramuses.

It's amazing how so many of these unwashed minds in terms of Bitcoins feel so high and mighty to make forecasts, predictions or otherwise on something they know little about. I suppose once they've read some FUD that becomes their research project and blinds them.
