people dont mine hot air

all mainnodes at this moment are in update process

until this is finished chances are very high u mine worthless dmd on a fork

cryptsy is informed wallet on maintainance

i suggest dont do transactions/mining/POS until we give info its save

and a guide how u rejoin main network

also for that ones who understand this:

Quote
we did save all blocks and orgins of them and we will find u
blockchain leave no room to hide everything is visible
dont try to play games with a well maintained coin
if u wana destroy blockchains select a devless coin at DMD Diamond u are wrong
a well timed attack befor pow reward reduction this should have been
but not good enought it was and will only prove that DMD cant be broken that easy

Thanks

Okay I've got all that in my conf file except the bantime=600.  What does that bantime=600 do?

You're probably good with the default.

guess we would not write it into our suggested default conf for no reason
5007  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Diamond (DMD) Evolution v 2.0 | NEW wallet, 50% POS Active on: April 06, 2015, 08:25:52 AM
DMD will no longer be minable? almost all fallen pools or maintenance?  Huh
diamond will stay mineable but at reduced rewards (0.2 dmd every 100 sec)
https://chainz.cryptoid.info/dmd/#!extraction
regarding the both miningfield pools we have to ask miningfield
maybe he is upgrading them already to new wallet and prepare them for trigger

expect the next few days very chaotic regarding pools they will update wallets
and later on maybe fight with adjustments regarding change pow specs

i suggest as many people as possible setup their rigs for solomining

below a old solomining guide from HR i just adapted the diamond conf section

Okay, I've decided to solo mine. I was looking at my payouts from where I was mining Groestl, and with those payouts being at the bottom of the daily estimated range over a period of 48 to 72 hours (depending on the machine) on a pool accounting for around 25% of the network hashrate which should adequately smooth outliers and give an accurate long term average mine rate, I've decided that solo mining can't be worse, and with it now being stable, I think we should do our best to help get everyone up and running. Here's a quick, appetizer to hopefully get your mouths watering.

The abridged, super simplified, solo mining HOWTO Wink

Okay, this assumes you already have your rig built, OS and miner installed and configured. (I think that is a safe assumption for anyone who is waiting for a pool to come online.)

Solo mining, single rig

ONLY 3 THINGS TO DO:

  • set up your wallet config file
  • set up your wallet to run as a server
  • set up your miner batch file to point to the wallet

Wallet config file key items: everything, but there's only 10 lines

Cut and paste what's posted here

server=1
rpcallowip=127.0.0.1
rpcuser=somesecretuser
rpcpassword=themegaultranooneknowpassword
rpcport=17772
addnode=213.229.0.41
addnode=193.77.159.166
addnode=113.168.158.16
server=1
listen=1
daemon=1

  into your diamond.conf file inside the same directory/folder where your wallet is found

Above the “rpcport” line, add the following line: rpcallowip=127.0.0.1

Change the rpcuser and rpcpassword to something of your choosing

Save it as diamond.conf.

when u restart ur wallet it will run as a server

Setup your miner bat/script startup file by SIMPLY CHANGING 3 THINGS: your -o -u and -p switches (everything else stays the same)

-o 127.0.0.1:17772
-u your chosen user name that you gave to rpcuser in your diamond.conf file
-p your chosen password that you gave to rpcpassword in your diamond.conf file

Save and run. You're now mining solo.

Multiple Rig Setups

All the same as above, except you need to:

In your diamond.conf file change 127.0.0.1 to your subnet, for example 192.168.0.* (that's the most common, you could go with 192.168.*.* when in doubt)

(Don't forget to create any necessary firewall exceptions on your wallet machine.)

Change the -o switch in your bat/script startup file to the IP of your wallet machine, followed by a colon, and the rpcport number used (for example 192.168.0.30:17772 )

And you're off and running mining.  Grin

This was meant to be deliberately simplified so as to remove some of the fear from this 'endeavor' and encourage newbies to get their feet wet. Hopefully you'll all find lots of other helping hands here to help fill in the gaps and correct any mistakes I've made and/or add to what I've left out.

It's easy as 1-2-3. Good luck, and good mining!

And as nerioseole reminded us, there's a wealth of info out there, starting with google https://www.google.com/#q=multiple+rig+solo+mining , but I doubt you'll need it.

Thanks I added some more nodes to my .conf file and now it started downloading the blockchain again so Cheers mate Smiley

Hey Noob - welcome to Diamond!  I saw you around on the Spreadcoin forum!

-pokeytex
Hey man Ya I was checking out this coin before but didn't jump on it when I apparently should've lol But now I've encountered another problem with my wallet syncing.  It was at like 121000 blocks left and now I just went to check it and its at 497673 blocks to go?Huh? Why would it have jumped back like that? Can anyone give me any ideas why that might be? I used the nodes that it says for the .conf file in the OP so I don't understand why it would go back like 300k blocks while syncing?
it doesnt go back it just dedected that the chain is longer than it did expect before......
if u wana see progress look how much blocks u have
and compare that with actual blockcount at https://chainz.cryptoid.info/dmd/

problem is we are a very old coin and we had a lot improvements in history that required a hardfork
so when u sync up from 0 u go through this whole history

means in sync process u sometimes talk with very old wallets who are legit communication partners
for that old blocks that u sync but they are long disconnected from real network
and such wallets can report as max blockcount only a number as far as they where able to sync themself
(dont ask my why there wallets outdated 1 year are still up and running and owners dont update them (or at least stop them) the internet have its own kind of undead creatures it seems)

by run with the suggested diamond.conf entries and delete ur peers.dat u should not come in touch with that wallets

listen=1
noirc=1
addnode=193.68.21.19
addnode=54.191.208.14
addnode=54.255.133.30
addnode=54.86.164.216
bantime=600

later on when u sync higher u reach triggers that will make ur wallet disconnect old wallets and from that point on u are in clean area

@Spidersbox u run into same problem with old and new wallet version
old wallet version is used by a few pools without issue

so i expect something at ur setup/compile must be different to them

maybe someone who runs a pool can give ya a hint what might be the difference

it would be good if one pool owner upgrade to new wallet and confirm it runs fine
5010  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Diamond (DMD) Evolution v 2.0 | NEW wallet, 50% POS Active on: April 04, 2015, 07:09:14 PM
the sources are updated to 2.0.5.2
self compiling linux user can join in extended beta test
if no major issues found this is the release version

windows users who want a extended beta wallet pm me their email address

monday we update the official dowload links

all changes will go active together with pow reduction at 1000000 total coins

quick overview at specs after 1000000

pow blocktime 100s reward 0.2 (foundation share 0.01)
pos blocktime 100s 50% per year
pos min age 1 day

(the coinrolloutplan is unchanged just the blocktimes and the pow rewards are asjusted but create the same amount of coins as in coinrolloutplan
the future rewards reduction for pos stay at the same triggers as in original plan so 50% pos will stay active until 1500000 total coins (then 25% stage begins))

average blocktime will be between 50 and 60 sec so we even become a bit faster by this adjustments

some adapations in diff calc engine
increased support of minicomputers like rasperry pi / pi2

important for pool owners to adapt their pool code for foundation share at 1000000 to the lower value

around trigger 1000000 is suggest as much people as possible go solo mining until first pools are confirmed to be adapted successful

if yes do we have people who can compile a mac wallet?

not be so harsh shveicar

i think peercoin is a excellent coin together with their side projects like nubit and so on

but peercoin is no undervalued underdog close before a pow reward reduction

as a investor u have to look at a few parameter

first: is the actual price low or high
(buy in when its still low is the golden rule.....)

second: is it a project with longterm dedicated people
(else u waste  money into a soon dead coin....)

for both questions i can give u a hint

hint 1: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=580725.msg10615239#msg10615239

hint 2: https://chainz.cryptoid.info/dmd/block.dws?000002e9686a879460eb5497d51a99fa6d5cad4a9edabb5112bd915b7d2302fc.htm (look at the date....)

 Grin

i did nearly miss u

but now u are back

and better than ever

but lets continue our game to analyze ur claims

u say we steal from people who mine DMD

guess thats targeted at foundation share part of pow mining
( each generated POW block create 1 DMD for miner and  0.05 DMD for dmd diamond foundation
(and after pow reward reduction 0.2 for miner and 0.01 for foundation))

steal as far as i understand englisch is take from someone without him know and aggree to it

foundation share part of POW mining is described in our coin specs and by mine DMD u agree to the specs
(and foundation share isnt take away from miners reward but additional generated
see it as a slow release of dev funds to make sure it cant be abused for a quick dump and abandon coin)

so where exactly we fullfil definition of steal?

this coin have no premine no dev funds
the foundation share is the best possible way to support a coin team
and still be sure they dont dump their 1-10% premine on market and leave the coin alone

and after 1000000 total coin trigger the foundation share will be around 7.2 DMD a day

we have to think hard how we can abuse that ..........

we need like half month of ot to fund the DMD Multipool lotto price

i hope u realize that we spend far more for servers and stuff to keep the services around dmd  running

than the foundation share earned

we did gather most of it and keep it for upcoming projects

we have someone who is good at prepare a press release in this community?

i think we need to prepare what will be its content and when this is done we can decide when to launch it

goal should not be a name and coin specs.......

we need something that create the wish to learn more about this coin

so not provide a lot info is the goal

but make them remember the name and want to know more about it

he was close to buy in again.....

The virtual trade market needs this DMD same as all modern technology need Diamond for servive... Wink

modern technology need industrial  grade diamonds for a lot stuff special in area cutting

gem grade diamonds are needed for nothing beside make some girls happy and some men broke

but we here produce crypto grade diamonds

and the value of that will be decided by us

what we as community are able create in area diamond powered services and apps
and maybe even trends and digital luxury will create demand

this will be a effort we all have to make if we want to have success

what we as dmd diamond foundation can do is provide a stable coin rollout plan and limited supply

and as we all learned in school

value is decided by supply and demand

5018  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Diamond (DMD) Evolution v 2.0 | NEW wallet, 50% POS Active on: April 02, 2015, 04:42:58 PM

DMD Multipool
DMD Cloudmining
Reactor

From reading through SGT posts it seems his big problem was with the Reactor. I understand cryto on a very basic level and i get the basic idea of the reactor and the roll it plays. I was looking for a reply to his accusations of some of the transactions the reactor made. I do understand your point about arguing in forums is a loss loss situation. Personally from my amateur point of view I would feel better if there was no such thing as a reactor because from the way i understand it the very thing the reactor is protecting could be the very thing the reactor was secretly set up to do.

multiple dmd cloudmining investors confirmed they got their reactor payout
sgt who is no investor claim its scam...... does that make sense?

he claim reactor send coins to just one address

and so they are not split between users

he doesnt know how they are split

we use the same engine that payout normal DMD cloudminng payouts

a dmd cloudmining payout works the way that what cloudmining earned in BTC get send to cryptsy
there it buy as much dmd as it can that dmd are send back to dmd cloudmining server and instant split and send to the users

this run full automated with scripts

2 times a month the dmd cloudmining payout is increased with reactor stake earnings

this is done in a way that while a normal btc dmd conversion round is started the reactor DMD are send to cryptsy

when the dmd cloudmining scripts withdraw the dmd from cryptsy they withdraw all
the bought one and the reactor one and split them between dmd cloudmining shareholders

does that sound fishy or unlogical to use a already existing automated script that works great to split the reactor payouts?

regarding security riscs which we did reduce to a absolute minimum

there are like 10 people who did contribute to the reactor and all are informed about the risc and choose to take it

(basical the risc is lower (because we did take care a lot about secure setup) or equal (if u are a security profi) to stake at home and someone hack ur PC)

any follow up questions?

I thought you guys were packing up this Scam and leaving this forum?

I am new to this coin and did take the time to read over all your comments. I am also new to crypto the alt coins are really cool but I see one big problem. a lot of coins are like a ghost town when it comes to the developers or people in charge. I almost want to create my own coin just so I can be a part of it without worrying if its a scam. I really like this coin and I hope its not some bullshit scam.

u are fresh here but still loaded with his arguments by reading his postings

so feel free ask me anything u need to be answered to lose fear of a possible scam or fraud operation

the DMD Diamond coin itself is 100% scamfree its no premine
open source anyone can check the code there is no backdoor
and running since close to 2 years maintained by DMD Diamond Foundation

so all ur questions i expect can be only targeted on  initiatives and services that build around the coin

like

DMD Multipool
DMD Cloudmining
Reactor

if u think questions regarding the coin itself need to be answered too sure u can ask them
but there i really think its clear visible that there is no scam even possible
how u could scam? a coin dont belong to anyone people mine it or stake it
we have no influence on it we cant "steal" their coins
we could release a wallet with "bad" code but cryptsy scan every wallet before installing it thats why they are so slow.....

i would prefer to answer ur questions at
