5001  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Bitfury: "16nm... sales to public start shortly" on: March 30, 2016, 08:06:53 PM
That's the general assumption. Bitfury's good at being quiet about their stuff, so there's no telling for sure what exists and what doesn't, but from what we've heard there is no mass deployment of their new chips yet. They probably won't be building miners that see retail sales directly, but were planning on getting chips to third-party developers. I don't know that that has happened yet.
I assume there's some private miners out there with bitfury's new chip, but they must be silently replacing their current miners in datacenters to keep it secret. We don't know crap for sure now, the global hashrate could be 0.01% 16nm bitfury or 10%, nobody's sure. I liked the past with bitfury building their own miners, but sadly those days are over and the old stickminers by bitfury are gone. Who knows, they might never release this chip and hog it themselves so that difficulty drives skyward and bitmain will become our only hope. Purely speculation now.
5002  Other / Off-topic / Re: Just got back. on: March 30, 2016, 08:02:32 PM
Not really much except new miners. Bitcoin price has dropped slightly , on the expected trend. Nothing new, keep monitoring bitcoin. Ofc altcoins have big news but since this is a bitcoin forum i'm assuming you only care about bitcoin.
Bitfury made a new 16nm miner that has absolutely no documentation and could be fake, though the latter is probably false.
The antminer s7 has been released, on its 15th and probably (probably) last batch.
Sidehack's new Gekkoscience USB Miner came out, although it's too late and the only ones you'll get are from resellers trying to rake a profit. They've been selling for 75$ each on ebay, originally here for 25$. Understandable since they have the 2nd lowest efficiency of any miner except for the S7, at 0.35W/GH for the most part. Not even including underclock, but the overclock potential is enormous and it's been overclocked up to 25 gh/s off its base of 8 gh/s.
I'm lazy so I won't link anything, but feel free to search in the lookup bar and find your information.
5003  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: MOST COMMON MISTAKES OF A NEWBIE on: March 30, 2016, 07:53:22 PM
spamming in signature campaigns and being depressed that they got banned in the forum. It's sad but true, don't spam here. It's not welcomed and somebody will find you and they will..... ban you. XD it's a week at first but if i'm right after that a month or a year and then permaban. Don't spam and you probably won't get bad marks on your record, ever.
Don't do ponzis for fast bitcoin, they will scam you eventually and your money will be lost in oblivion. don't make the same mistake I did just a few months ago.
5004  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: I'm new to signature campaigns on: March 30, 2016, 07:50:39 PM
Firstly you should increase your rank, because most of ad campaigns don't accept Newbies. When you will get at least to Jr. Member, look for some information about ad campaigns, find the one which suits you best and register under it. Then keep posting constructive messages daily and start earning bitcoins.
Some do, for example 777coin. Ofc the pay is exceptionally low and it's not worth wasting your time gathering dust at such a low rank. At jr member pay becomes decent and you actually have motivation to make good posts instead of that crap dust that cheapo signature campaigns pay for their newbie friends. Just look for things that interest you on this forum and soon you'll be legendary member if you really want to, and then you'll have a good time and earn some pretty decent bitcoin from campaigns.
5005  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: My investments and planning with bitcoin on: March 30, 2016, 01:29:43 PM
I have decided to put some of my savings into bitcoin, I am keeping very little of it in fait, the rest being kept in the form of silver bullion in safe deposit boxes, and a third in cash.

I have bought £1,000 worth (at present its worth 1k) of bitcoin over time, and want to hold this until 6 months or so to a year after the halving, currently its worth around £1,000 I have kept it in a coinbase vault but have done the part where I print out the vault information so they themselves cannot decrypt the vault without my passcode (in theory they could keep it I know) and that I could  recover the private keys if they go bust.

I am thinking of investing in 30TH/s - 50 TH/s of mining equipment to solo mine, keeping it at a host for cheaper power. I worry though that buying Avalon or S7 rigs now is not a good idea as if the new 16nm stuff comes out and makes it practically worthless. I also have a 500GH/S solo mining experiment going on at home. I am not really into pool mining, but want to do a year of intense solo mining with around 30 - 50 TH/S and   then sell my hardware  when done, swallowing a loss if I do not hit blocks but if I hit blocks pocketing the block and selling the equipment. If a block is hit before 1 year has elapsed, switch to pool mining for the remainder then sell the hardware when finished. According t

I have not invested more than I can afford to loose, and thus am keeping a third of my savings in fait. I would rather do this than rent hash as at least I still have physical hardware to show for it.

My concern is with the new 16 nm miners, and the upcoming halving. Should I hang fire? I will hold what I bought which I will keep until after the halving, I am concerned that after the halving there may be a minor drop when everyone 'dumps' but then after the 'dump' and the supply isn't being replenished as fast as before, then that would be the time to sell. I have bought some litecoin and have some peercoin (I pointed 1pH to a solo mine for a few minutes for lol and hit 4 blocks, although one was an orphan), currently I earned roughly 0.16 BTC from those solves, hold or sell the peercoin?

I am looking for good advice, thanks in advance!

Jacob

You need t check to see how much it's going to cost for that hosting first.  Once you have that you can plug the cost of the miner and the cost of hosting + power into a calculator and see if it's worth it.  As someone already said 50th isn't anything for solo mining:
Code:
The average time to generate a block at 50 thps, given difficulty of 165,496,835,118.226348876953,
 is 23 weeks, 3 days, 12 hours, 58 minutes, and 6 seconds
The average time isn't always correct, so you could possibly hit a block within 49 hours or less. Of course if you're REALLY unlucky, you might only hit a block after the halving. Now or never, as S7 prices are dropping rapidly and after the halving your miners will be worth nil, maybe 200 or so. Best to do something now, buy tons of coupons and buy out s7s or HODL and hope to make a profit, of which the second option will not earn you much most likely.
5006  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Anyone ever worked out the Electricity Cost alone of Bitcoin Mining??? on: March 30, 2016, 01:24:13 PM
[How do I move the power from the Sahara to the rest of the world?

Answer is you don't as it would be far too costly.  The grid  cost would be really high to set it up and really high to maintain it.

But it certainly could help people in Africa with their power needs.
Africa is big. Bringing power from the Sahara thousands of km away is very expensive and has tremendous losses in efficiency. It it would be cheap and easy, someone would have done it already.

I am from Emirates, I want to know How much per unit current takes for 1 Unit or 1 KW. People around me, No one knows about bitcoins here. I use to do with 3 friends here. We use to do cloudmining only, If we wanna start at here. How much it will take as investment.
It all depends, how much solar costs for you and if you're willing to pay the enormous cost of the initial investment and i think people know about bitcoin in the Emirates. I have a bunch of friends from the emirates and they both run 5 antminer s7s. Never invest in cloudmining, the risk is far too high and it takes too long to roi with that much risk involved.
5007  Economy / Digital goods / Re: Looking for a CSGO Smurf account! on: March 30, 2016, 01:09:51 PM
Hey guys. As the title says, I need a CSGO Smurf account. We were going to win a game and was on the last round, v when I dumbly shot my teammate for fun. Bam, 1 week CSGO comp ban.

So I'm looking for a Smurf, no higher than GN2, no lower than unranked. I want one with unrestricted play amounts, not limited to 2 comp wins. Basically:

 - Ranked account lower than GN3
 - No hacks used on the account
 - Preferably no scam reports on steamrep
 - You go first or escrow

Im looking for an account below $4, because I've seen GN accounts go for less than $3.

Thanks! PM me your offer!

Normal accounts only sell for around 7$, and generally smurf accounts are sold higher. good luck, i've never seen an account be sold so low for a smurf before. I do have a smurf account right now, but i'm only going to sell it for around 7$.
5008  Other / Off-topic / Re: 50 $ in 2 hours??? on: March 30, 2016, 01:07:01 PM
it's pretty easy if you gamble, just go onto a coin flip website and hope that you can double 25$ instantly. not promoting any websites, but seriously gambling is  the only way to get paid that high. most people only get paid ~15$ an hour in real life, so don't be expecting any high pay from a digital job for bitcoin.
5009  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Cloud Mining - Please help a newbie on: March 30, 2016, 12:57:23 PM
cloud mining has a bad reputation nowadays because often what happens is that people steal your funds right as things look good. ofc not all of them are scams but you never know, so be careful and don't invest in cloud mining. Even if it is legit, the profit is miniscule and it takes maybe years to at least roi with the difficulty, and a legit service often takes out money for electricity costs, so don't do it. Use your bitcoin elsewhere.
5010  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: I'm new to signature campaigns on: March 30, 2016, 12:46:26 PM
Just make posts on this forum and try not to spam. Ofc not many signature campaigns accept people of your rank, so for now try to get a higher rank on the forum and soon you'll be rolling in bitcoin dough.. it gets very easy at jr member and as you get to higher ranks as the pay gets really big and soon you'll have a big amount of btc to spend.
5011  Other / Off-topic / Re: How many cats are on this bed? (count carefully) on: March 30, 2016, 12:36:56 AM
5 cats on the bed and one on the window. LOL. Cheesy
It would be nicer to count the cats if the photo was clear.
It's not clear on purpose, otherwise we'd be able to see right through this thing. There's a reason things like this are in 1990 .png file resolution, what's the point if you can see this in 2 seconds? imo not 5 unless those cats are mutated af and are aliens.
5012  Other / Off-topic / Re: What are some of your favorite PC games? on: March 30, 2016, 12:34:18 AM
game(s)?
I'm sorry but I spend 10 hours a day playing cs:go. Used to be semi pro and still rek everybody on ESEA and CEVO pugs as well as FACEIT. Never gets old, and I look forward to being a legitimate pro in the future. I had a bayonet fade and a m4 howl ingame... too late to fall back now Smiley
If you need advice you can always pm me, I have plenty of tips and i'm global in cs:go and had 2400 hours on css and cs 1.6 combined.
5013  Other / Off-topic / Re: Finally an Hero Member ! on: March 30, 2016, 12:29:56 AM
Congrats. Now have the fun of knowing you'll need to spend double or more time to get to legendary member if you at all get there. Don't worry, you're far enough and if you ever need to stop you could sell your account for a tidy sum on the forum. It's sad but true, accounts here are sold every day and there is no way to stop it. Have fun knowing that you'll earn more per day with a signature campaign now if you ever do join one.
5014  Other / Off-topic / Re: How many cats are on this bed? (count carefully) on: March 30, 2016, 12:28:03 AM
looks like 7 with 2 appearing with the black and white one in the middle. Not much time put into this and i am fairly sure it's 6 or 7. Ofc we could be seeing some kind of military futuristic grade camouflage here, and there are 85 more cats on the bed, but assuming you're a regular civilian, 6-7 would be a good guess.
5015  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: Blocks are full. Are pool owners sleeping ? on: March 30, 2016, 12:24:57 AM
..aand that's where we get these 1-2 week long transaction backlogs where fees become obscenely high and blocks are full 75% of the time. I remember just 2 months ago blocks were fine and even free transactions were processing very quickly. Now you need to go above the recommended fee to get that same speed. Where did we go wrong? I'm sure we all know.
5016  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Bitcoins lost in the abyss on: March 29, 2016, 10:29:07 PM
the -000 looks odd for a hash. Try removing that in your search for you coins.
The transaction times have had major delays in the last 2 weeks, when was the transaction made and how much was the miner's fee did you apply to the transaction so to speed it up?
This is a really odd transaction with the -000, as even with and without it the transaction cannot be found. Maybe try retransporting these bitcoins to another wallet and see if that brings up an error. -000 could be an error code, but it's very unlikely. The transaction probably is not unconfirmed as unconfirmed transactions quickly become returned to wallet usually within 5 days, assuming it has been near 5.
5017  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Bitfury: "16nm... sales to public start shortly" on: March 29, 2016, 10:24:15 PM
I highly doubt Bitfury will disappear for anything like the reasons ASICMiner vanished.

Also, yeah dev chips would be super. Or even just some documentation.
Bitfury has existed for quite a while now, going from ~100nm chips to now apparently 14-16nm. ASICMiner was a shaky thing to begin with, and as of now Bitfury is a serious possible competitior to a company like Bitmain. It's just so odd how there is nearly no data on these chips and no documentation. They might have even never been made.

we saw them demoed on the youtube videos.  I would like to think they were real.

so by never been made I would guess you mean never made in bulk.
yup, and def not sold, otherwise we'd be seeing a spike in hashrate and difficulty skyrocketing to infinity (of course the recent spikes could be these chips being turned off and on but I don't think that's it). These things will happen not now, but when the chips are actively sold and distributed. For now we mine and hope that these new chips will save us..

5019  Economy / Services / Re: YoBit.Net - Signature Campaign - Realtime Payouts (daily) on: March 29, 2016, 02:54:23 PM
Yobit thanks for payment!
Your campaign is the best.
I like it.
really fast and easy, it's cool!

Yes, even if rewards are bit low , you can post 140 posts in a week..no other company has this.
I will join this in future.

Bit-x is paying too for 140 post per week.. and they are paying high than this campaign.. this is very low campaign rate but yobit is the best in other campaign like bitvest and 777coin.. they are delay in paying and also second trade for low payment per week but 35 post only per week..
Admittedly yobit pays pretty little bitcoin, but there really isn't a higher paying signature campaign with this few restrictions on the entire forum. There's a few exceptions, like for example if you were to join a ultrahighpaying signature campaign or if you rented it out yourself, which can pay lots of $$$ if you are a high enough rank. Yobit pays enough for the average person like me, but it's a great place to grow on. The bad thing is you can't rejoin, so plan carefully as this is one of the best campaigns Smiley
5020  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [POOL CHOICE] o3o on: March 29, 2016, 02:43:13 PM
Solo is so impossible atm assuming you have the best luck ever you will never hit a block. I've run Block Erupters for  1 1/2 years now, and my highest share was 23M. Def not worth it, solo on an altcoin. You might hit a block there, but def not here. It takes me a week to even hit a 1M share, and that's once or twice a month on avg for 1 block erupter for me.
