5001  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Reputation at stake will you stop gambling on: March 25, 2020, 06:52:50 AM
I would stop gambling because that will hurt my reputation, if I am playing right at the situation. But the problem here is that your campaign competitors will try to use that to their advantage, and if they are to discover that then that will surely damage your reputation so in the end your reputation will not be mended even if I stop gambling.
True that they will not stop campaigning. But you can always play at your own private place and not let anybody know. Thats why cryptocurrency is there and there are online casinos to cater to the type of games that players wish to gamble on. It is indeed going to make your skin crawl if they shame you in public and believe me it is not something that anybody wants. So in that case you should just stop playing for some time and keep in mind that smear campaigns will run out with time because carry no proof and are just fake accusations.

If they do have a proof of your gambling habits then you are in trouble. But such extortionists are rare.
5002  Economy / Economics / Re: Help of cryptocurrency in globalization. on: March 25, 2020, 06:49:13 AM
For me, crypto can help us get job and income.
There are not that many jobs with full time crypto salaries. Some are half fiat half crypto and some are only fiat. You have to give a salary in the form in which your workers are able to buy their groceries quickly and not be prosecuted for that. Grin

Quote
Second thing I'm not agree with crypto bring globalized because blockchain do that, crypto is product and someday will replacement.
There's no safe in crypto/ currency world, we should do our best to protect our asset. Blockchain make transaction faster, that's benefits we can take and manage to help economy activity. Focus on technology and make sure not saving crypto because all transaction will end with currency.
I am not sure you understand correctly. Blockchain is the technology behind bitcoin. There is nothing called replacement here. Something new may come one day but that is still ages. Still one can keep pondering about it and never actually make any profit because they were too engrossed thinking about what happened in the future. Roll Eyes
5003  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Brought Bitcoin in 2017 and sold in 2018 on: March 25, 2020, 06:45:23 AM
This is an easier said than done thing. I mean about people buying Bitcoin for the sake of buying it and not for profit making. Is there anyone who goes into investment without aiming at profiting from it? Nah, I don't think so. As for the OP, such things happen. Business is either profit or loss.
It is possible that they bought bitcoin without the thought of keeping it as an investment. Rather using it for buying/selling stuff. It is a currency or a mode of payment.

If you can afford to then I would suggest continuing to hold what you have. Store your holdings securely and don't check up on price. If you hear about crypto in the news and from friends and family (who will have seen it in the news) then that is typically the time to sell.
Holding is the only thing that they can do. Unless they want to sell at loss and exit this unending cycle of anxiety and depression. The second option is actually not a bad thing to save one from the mental trauma. There were people who had taken loans to buy coins at that time and are still unable to pay back. Some of us are lucky to not have been a part of that.
5004  Economy / Economics / Re: World economy would benefit if all crypto work together on: March 25, 2020, 06:41:25 AM
For me collabaration will eliminate the competition and in turn will make the price of cryptocurrency stabilize, I may be wrong but that happens in different kinds of businesses.
It is not as easy as you say. Would a project trying to set up their coin in the competition want to collaborate and if so who would they collaborate with? They will have to do it with another shitcoin project meaning increasing pile of shitcoin. Grin

Dont compare this with companies running mainstream businesses. They are recognized and licensed to run with a legal support and they may wish to buy stakes from other companies. It is much different when it comes to crypto economy. Here it is like a wild west and will remain like this for a long time.
5005  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: About Compulsive gambling. on: March 24, 2020, 04:48:38 AM
It is really not easy to get over the addiction of gambling. Gambling is something which really can make people an insane addict.
That is the extreme type of addicts. One end of the spectrum and not the complete spectrum. There are casual gamblers too how go to Vegas for a stroll and burning some cash at hand. But they dont expect to win and come back soon enough.

Quote
Gambling addiction needs a lot of interference of family in the life of a gambler along with proper medication. There are no ways that one can on his own get over the addiction.
In the extreme variety, it does need professional help but lets not make that as a general statement because it is not. Rather it follows a bell shaped curve where the maximum frequency is for those who are occasional players. They play for fun and at the most need the help of their close ones to stop them.
5006  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How to improve the usability of bitcoin? on: March 24, 2020, 04:43:55 AM
If common establishments like Starbucks or other coffee shops, and known supermarkets will accept bitcoin, I think that is already good application for bitcoin.
In the real world people still consider bitcoin to be criminals money and something to be afraid of. You cant expect an established multinational company to be accepting and endorsing the use of such a currency. When this happens there will be a lot of chaos from mainstream and thus end up being a bad move for coffeeshops. Its like committing career suicide.

If the public mentality of bitcoin improves then only it is possible.

Quote
However, most of us are still treating bitcoin as investment, in which, someday we are hoping that it will increase its value. And so as much as possible, we don't want to spend our bitcoin.
This changes with time. Currently people sold bitcoin because they need cash at hand to handle the situation. But when the times were better they were into investing more into it.
5007  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: This is My experience with iqmining.com on: March 24, 2020, 04:39:53 AM
That site is a ponzi/MLM scam. Do not put your money in it anymore than what you have already done.

Cloud mining sites are all scams. There is no doubt regarding this. Maybe Genesis is partially legit but there is still questions about it.

The only legit system is to invest in mining companies have have real mining farms being maintained properly and which are actually running. Though the profitability of such mining clusters are often just going to break even for the money used to develop it. The risk is high here and since difficulty rises with more miners joining in, the less the rewards. Comparing it to current price situation it is even worse.

However these are not justifications for why this specific site stopped paying. It is more likely they are going to exit scam and start under a new name and fool another person like the OP.
5008  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Number of borrowers on BTCPop on: March 24, 2020, 04:34:56 AM
Blockfi and celsius network until they go bust and you lose your money.
But honestly they are more likely to scam you of your money. We have seen how nicely scams are done in this sector havent we?

They can show their faces and owners but then one fine day they will shut down operations and claim it to be a hack or death of CEO and wallets locked forever and so on. Nobody can really be trusted in the crypto economy. It is not that every time the owners are at fault. The authorities are also involved but that is not for us to talk about without proof.

Now you might say that such risks are in other investments too. But in a self-owned pawn shop there are other problems. In a way both have their own pros and cons.
5009  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Will You Agree To Publicize Your Journey From Being Chronic Gambler on: March 23, 2020, 11:04:14 AM
I never trust such stories because most of them are self made to encourage people to gamble or make people believe that gambling is not an addicted game and even if you are addicted  you can be cured too. The fact is that gambling is very risky game and it is impossible to get cure from gambling addiction. Even if you get cured, most of the cases, its too late for you that you have already lost most part of your money.
True that. People see casino advertisements and winners testimonials of a huge lottery win but forget the fact that equally same number of people lost the ticket price and actually contributed to that person's win. It is a game or luck and because people like to play with their luck they want to gamble which leads to addiction.

Now most people are not aware of the bad effects of gambling because very few people actually show the debts that gamblers go into or the social problems of gambling. I am not saying that everyone falls into such problems but many do.
5010  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: i want to buy bitcoins in Hong Kong F2F on: March 23, 2020, 10:58:04 AM
i am currently based in Hong Kong, i want to buy bitcoins using cash so we can meet up in any public place and i will give you cash and you will give the the respective coins. i can either come to you or you come to me, or we can just simply meet at a Starbucks of our convenience.
Just some friendly advice if you looking to meet in a coffee shop. Make sure you bring some hired goons (you read that right) with you nearby because there have been robbery incidents in view of such exchanges and thus they are considered less secure.

This is of course disregarding the virus outbreak, depending on how badly the lockdown is in your country and how you all are handling it. Not sure if you are actually following the news since you asked for an exchange here anyway.

And I would always suggest online P2P trades as superior to F2F because of the security and lack of physical meeting.
5011  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: High rewards still possible I'm bounties? on: March 23, 2020, 10:54:06 AM
Is high rewards like 350,000$ for bounty hunters still possible this days? I know it's all down to the success of the project but is this still achievable? How many successful projects with such reward paid hunters since 2018 that you know?
LOL are you nuts? You expect to make money so quickly then you have to find your own methods and that is not bounties by any chance.

Now I am not sure if you are referring to a bounty pool of 35k USD or an individual prize of approximately that amount. While the first one may be feasible but the second one is not possible in today's date. You should keep this thought out of your mind now and then decide what to do next. There are ways to make money if you wish and want to put your efforts in. Bounties are just meager rewards for participating nothing more.
5012  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Quiet Bounty Time on: March 23, 2020, 10:46:06 AM
Merit has also reduced participation by over 50%, as many many hunters had multiple accounts.
I believe coinlocket found one guy with over 1000 alt accounts
Thousands of accounts were being used as alt account from a single human owner to farm the bounty rewards. Thats why the DT members decide to negative trust every account which was detected to be cheating campaigns of being sold accounts. However merit did make it a stalemate for many such cheaters. Unable to rank up these account by shitposting they are now of no use since it is tough to earn merits just like that.

I think it is better this way. But the ICOs may find out new methods to kep bounty hunters still the forum is less plagued by such users.
5013  Economy / Lending / Re: Need loan help on: March 22, 2020, 07:21:16 AM
My official university salary is 7200 UAH (263$) But this position is required for work in another enterprises, which has 400% profitability.
Get a job and then pay back your payday loan. For that you should go to a pawn shop who have a bunch of goons named Debt collectors to beat you up when you default the loan.

Quote
Create the online charity auction, which will be publicly supported for 6 months, but the'y don't offer the money wright now.
Kickstarter is not a bad option.

Quote
I hope for a good people, that can help, but not for ones that are ready to hang up for every cent just to have a big profit.
But here are probably no such, I found a wrong forum ...
Good people no longer exist if you have that mindset. If you are begging for money and not offering something as collateral then you will be publicly shamed. This is a business, there is no question of good or bad. Offer a valid collateral to get a loan. Cool

Quote
And yes, I have repeatedly lent money to people when I had it and that was $ 100 and $ 200 and $ 500 and I didn't know when they coming back. Often money was not returned. I was not impoverished, but enriched spiritually.
Stop lying. If you did that then you would have a good feedback score on that site or personally knowing these borrowers. You could leverage that to ask for a loan (<<read scam) from someone.
5014  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Margin trading. Where to start? on: March 22, 2020, 06:08:31 AM
The fact is that I always meet a fairly large amount of information that professional traders main type of earnings is margin trading, which gives a very large profit.
Margin trading takes up the bigger share if you compare it with spot trading. The outcome is bigger and thus is attracts a lot of people specially during times of high market movements. There is chance to make money in both ups and downs here.

Quote
But at the same time, everyone who reads such lines should understand that the professionalism of such traders should be at a great height, with a very large amount of knowledge and experience.
They are professionals here but you cannot deny that they wont have some sort of inside knowledge or that they are having a team monitoring the world news every now and then so they dont miss out on trades.

Quote
Margin trading makes it possible to use large amounts of capital for trading that a third party provides to the user, and you need to take into account the fact that it is almost like a kind of loan, non-payment of which leads to big problems.
Well that is the risk of margin trading. You have to use some money to be able to ask for a leverage and then use that to place the contracts.
5015  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Anything could be gambling on: March 22, 2020, 06:02:43 AM
In an honest sense everything in life is a gamble. Just the risk is different. We are playing with chance in every aspect of life, just from the moment of being born from the womb to the tomb. Still we develop skills and try to game the system to our advantage.

The attitude to gamble comes from willingness to take the risk. This is something that anyone likes to do and thus gambling is an inherent nature of humans.

Whenever there is something at stake, and it is always there, it is a gamble. Now a sports game may have odds in favor of those who know the game and their expertise and not completely luck based.
5016  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: When is altcoin season??? on: March 22, 2020, 05:59:16 AM
Bitcoin dominance Increases when more and more people buy and simply hold BTC.
Bitcoin dominance is the percentage of bitcoin to altcoins in a market based on market capitalization. If you are talking in terms on a no-fiat usage then the statement is correct. But if there is fiat involved then the money increasing the portion of bitcoin is not coming from altcoins but total market cap will increase.

Quote
Bitcoin dominance decreases when more and more people sell BTC.
For altcoin precisely and not fiat.

Quote
So altcoins fate is purely depend on BTCs price reaction or altcoins are independent???
Altcoins could be independent if they are actually having something to develop and something has a market of its own to generate a demand/supply crisis so as to raise the price of that coin. This is generally not seen with all of the altcoin launched till date so the end result is that thy piggyback on the price of bitcoin.
5017  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Where ETH will go if it breaks down $80? on: March 22, 2020, 05:53:43 AM
Many traders and investors put trust in ETH.
Nah, those who bought it during the ICO were optimistic because it was the start of the ICO craze. They have sold at 1k USD and are now enjoying the money if possible. They bought it at <10$ during that period. Rest who have been holding all this time have been stupid.

Quote
But recently ETH performance is very bad, in every market crash, ETH has biggest fall.
It is a speculative asset. You cannot expect such an asset to always go up. Thats against the rules. Grin

Quote
Do you think ETH will be around $10-$15 again if its $80 support is broken?
It can even go back to 1$ if people are going to dump it in this badly stricken bear market. Be ready to stop trading for a while on altcoins. It is better to wait it out.
5018  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How is Bitcoin useful as a currency if so few services accept it? on: March 21, 2020, 06:18:32 AM
What I don't understand, and I haven't been able to find the answer to, is if I own some bitcoin, how does that help me buy groceries at the market, or gas for my car? The market I go to doesn't accept bitcoin and neither do the gas stations.
Bitcoin is also illegal to use in some countries. Check online to get list and if your country is among those then you are having no option at hand but to wait for th government to work out something.

Quote
If I can't do that, how is bitcoin worth anything to me?
Bitcoin is earned or gifted or minted. So someone had to buy that coin for being able to own that. Since it was sent to you, that moneytary value is your now.

If you mined that coin then the work done by your device to mine it is worth that coin.

Quote
Also, how are people supposedly getting rich with bitcoin?
By trading it and speculating its prices. Stop putting in third party links in between words.

Quote
I thought it was a currency, where we can buy things. Then I find that it's also a commodity where we can trade it.
Gold can be used as a currency and as a commodity. You can compare with bitcoin.

Quote
The fact that a single bitcoin was approximately equal to a few cents when it first came out, but now is worth tens of thousands, is very troubling.
In what sense? Compare this to any other asset which has grown in value over time and suddenly it is no longer troubling.
5019  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Risk management , how ? on: March 21, 2020, 06:12:22 AM
The most important things in risk management are working with errors and minimizing their consequences.
It is more in terms of how to manage risk and not how to evaluate losses based on errors. I think you got something wrong there. Correction of errors are for post-trading evaluation.

You manage risk by doing research on the projects you are investing in and their regular reports to keep track of their growth and development. Investors want a good quarterly report nothing more.

Quote
As a rule, errors occur most often due to psychological conditions, in other words, when you are emotionally involved in trading.
Errors cannot be judged like that. It is easy to judge them after committing them but not always possible to change the outcome when the event is actually occurring.

Quote
The first thing you should do in the process of your training in trading is to work with your emotional states, because it depends on him how your thinking will work, interruptions and mistakes, or clearly and harmoniously.
If a person is not emotionally well, why would they trade. Of course here comes the question of people who are trying to get rich quick and those who are professionally trading everyday.
5020  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Learn to play Dice on: March 21, 2020, 06:08:01 AM
Very right, even martingale strategy will only work for a certain amount of time and can't be trusted also to work all the time.
This thought process is wrong. Martingale is based on two assumptions to be profitable. One that bankroll is infinite and Second that outcome maximum value of the casino is also infinite. Both of these are false in reality. So martingale will end up as martinfail no matter how you do it unless you dont play any strategy.

Quote
You should know how to strategize on attacking this strategy. Because if you don't, the chance will pass before you know it. The strategies are simple but how you apply it is another thing.
Strategies dont work in EV- games. What you think for a short period of green streak to be a workign strategy is just because the simulation of such a play yields some greens and some reds, but the net outcome is a loss for the player. In EV- games you have to depend on your luck and just play with it.
