5002  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Bitcoin, Dogecoin Gain After Musk's Tweets, But Will There Be Another Bull Run? on: August 08, 2021, 09:08:22 PM
These tweets that come from Elon Musk usually influence the pri e of dogecoin ,bitcoin and some other coins in the short run but not enough to cause a bull run.
One thing is for sure bitcoin needs serious reasons to cause a bull run, like new legislation which everyone is happy about this will cause price to go up.

But Will There Be Another Bull Run?
Yes these are cyclical in nature, today we might be in a bearish phase the next few weeks price could be in a bull run , it's all about the right time.
5003  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What happens to the coins after your death ? on: August 08, 2021, 08:45:23 PM
If that was going to happen am afraid to say these coins will be there just growing in value without anyone to claim them and I think this is a what happens with many crypto users bitcoins. And I think it's time to introduce family to this so that should anything happen they have some crypto to remember about should they decide to use it after am gone.
5004  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2020/21 on: August 08, 2021, 08:36:40 PM
It is rumoured that Bernardo Silva is preparing to talk to Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola. It is about a possible move to Barcelona.
Bernardo Silva could easily fit in well in that Barcelona team because  their play style fits him well but I also read some rumors of Bernardo being wanted by a rival team in the Premier League, should be Chelsea or something I really recall which team. Is Manchester City going to release all its most prized players so easily, I don't think so.
Quote
He actually played in many games in the last season. He got 5 goals and 9 assists in 45 games in total. But maybe he wants a change for himself and wants to play in a different league. He is still a quite young and talented player. And I assume that Barcelona would also like to have a qualified player like Silva.
Just how old is Bernardo Silva, if he is around 25 or so then he still has a lot to offer but should he be above 27 am afraid he only has a few more seasons to go
But the problem is that his market value is €70m. And we know that Barcelona are in a financial trouble now. So, I'm not sure about a transfer like this.
With what happened with Messi players would be discouraged to move to Spain because of this very reason.
5005  Bitcoin / Press / [2021-08-08] U.S. Senators Forge Crypto Tax Reporting Rules Over The Weekend on: August 08, 2021, 07:48:46 AM
Several U.S. Senators have been negotiating over the amendment language in a cryptocurrency tax reporting provision of the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act, which is one of many offsets designed to pay for the costs of the bill. These lawmakers are facing tremendous time pressure from the White House as well as the Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY), to the point that the possibility still exists the bill could be moved to a vote without the amendment being considered.

In May, Forbes reported the tax enforcement plan from Biden included crypto tax reporting and just a few days ago, the White House updated its fact sheet on the bill that among many ways to pay for the bill includes the “…strengthening of enforcement when it comes to crypto currencies.” The increased crypto tax reporting is expected to raise $28 billion over ten years, although the degree to which Senators continues to carve out exceptions in the current language over who must report as a ‘broker’ under IRS rules may result in a need to recalculate this number.

A new Amendment from Senator Mark Warner (D-VA) and Krysten Sinema (D-AZ), that according to reports in the Washington Post, is being pushed by the Treasury Department and the current Administration, was updated to exclude proof-of-stake validators as well as proof-of-work cryptocurrency miners from the crypto tax reporting provision. Warner noted to reporters that this was likely the final list of exemptions, which leaves software developers and decentralized platforms exposed to the new statute, should it pass.

Guys I have rarely seen this thread growing by several pages within a single day. This seems to be record breaking since it is known that Messi is going to leave Barcelona Wink Not that this thread hasn't always been pretty lively, but this is for sure an interesting one. Don't know if it was the same when Ronaldo transferred to Juventus, but maybe that was more obvious because Ronaldo was in a very bad mood there already.
Maybe because we have seen several big names in the game we love trading places from all continents of the world all at the same time, Spain has Messi ,Italy has Lukaku, England has had several players moving Grealish, Aguero and the list goes on, it's expected the thread to be active around these times.

Talking of Harry Kane, what is really happening between Tottenham ham and Manchester City.  What's really delaying this transfer from not happening, this has carried on for a long time... Kane himself has expressed the interest to move but seems Spurs keeps holding him back, when the English man be leaving.
5007  Economy / Exchanges / Re: First time Using cex.io and the last on: August 07, 2021, 10:19:29 PM
I was looking to buy btc from somewhere and use it on another site.

I purchased a small amount roughly £30 worth of btc and tried to withdraw, Upon trying was greeted by an error that i needed to deposit atleast another £40 to withdraw money.
I would of thought they would have to say when buying somewhere that to withdraw x amount is needed.
We all run into this especially if its a test transaction but I really feel they need to have something that will alert first time buyers the minimum withdraw the exchange has set because they can't have the option of a minimum buy of coins which is different from the allowed number of coins. For me I see this to be a hustle because the gain on fees on every transaction made.

Upon checking my payment page:
Your payment is under compliance review.
We will email you if any details are required.
Thus is new never seen this message before

Why do they not say any of this stuff before buying btc. what a regret using this site. will never use this place again.

Very annoying right...I think its a trap set by them, they know most customers will never use these services if they knew about all these prerequisites, so what better way to apply them after deposting funds.
5008  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can you protect your Bitcoin from market volatility? on: August 07, 2021, 10:00:25 PM
Good write up OP but what I see here just makes you more knowledgeable about the crypto ecosystem and kind of opens up your mind to what crypto can throw at you, and possibly makes you smarter on how you make your cryptoinvestments..
But lets talk facts, I don't think there is a way to protect yourself from market volatility if you own some bitcoin or crypto. This phenomenon  affects everyone of us and the second you choose to get into cryptocurrency that fence that you had protecting you from crypto is demolished.
5009  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why is BTC still top1 on the cryptomarket? on: August 07, 2021, 09:23:21 PM
Bitcoin is number one because it was the first coin developed as a cryptocurrency and a recognized coin by the community too, it deserves the recognition as number one coin no questions  asked. Any other coin that came after bitcoin became known as an altcoin and because  of this bitcoin could not be buried in the haystack.
And besides this I should think it has the most money pumped into it.
5010  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why should you own at least one Bitcoin? on: August 07, 2021, 06:55:15 PM
You need to own 1 bitcoin so that in the future it could become your retirement package as price is expected to rise with time,so if you want an idea of how you can use bitcoin, take it as a parallel savings account for your kids, save some money for your kids and family both in fiat and crypto (bitcoin). In a few years time you are likely to find the bitcoin pot to be more valuable than your fiat savings account. If you have never looked at bitxoin this way here is a savings project for you, happy  savings.

5011  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Olympics 2020/2021 : Discussion & Predictions on: August 07, 2021, 06:09:29 PM
Just read on espn Bruce Springsteen daughter won silver in horse riding, or whatever the proper name is.  I don't know anything about that sport but does anyone know if she was expected to medal this Olympics.  Pretty successful family I'd say lol.
Congratulations to her.

Talking of horses did you guys catch up with the story making headlines of the sumo statue that spooked their horses...

Riders say a life-size sumo wrestler positioned next to an obstacle on the Olympic equestrian course may have distracted several horses in qualifying for the individual jumping final

Equestrian jumpers aren't keen on surprises. Neither are the horses, and it takes years of training to keep them from getting spooked.

Of course, no horse in Tuesday night's Olympic jumping qualifier had ever seen anything like obstacle No. 10.

“As you come around, you see a big guy’s (butt),” British rider Harry Charles said.

There's a lot to look at,” Ireland's Cian O'Connor added.

“It is very realistic,” echoed Israel's Teddy Vlock.

Riders say a life-size sumo wrestler positioned next to the 10th obstacle on the 14-jump Olympic course may have distracted several horses in qualifying for the individual jumping final Tuesday night. A few pairings pulled up short of the barrier, accumulating enough penalty points to prevent entry into Wednesday's finals.

5012  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: why some are still loosing money in crypto on: August 07, 2021, 05:18:24 PM
Personally I don't believe people do lose money in crypto,  the only way this could happen is either investing in these crypto scams that claim to give you back ten fold of your investments ...which is to good to be true and people should tell this is a scam.
The other possibility of losing money is through panic selling because price goes against your preferred direction and you chose to sell to salvage whatever money is left.

Men's Olympic Soccer Final Odds Comparison:

Spain vs Brazil (Final)

Stake|2.55|2.75|3.3|
Trust Dice|2.5|2.75|3.25|
Wolf.Bet|-|-|-|

5 minutes before the start of the match. I think Brazil looks like a favorite only because of the name and the fact that they are the reigning champions. In fact, the chances are most likely equal, therefore, if there is a desire, it is more profitable to bet on Spain. I will wait for the result of the first half and think about betting.
The odds for Brazil were to generous and anybody that knows this should have staked some coins on them, I was expecting Brazil to have a price of 1.5 there about but they got priced at over 2.5 odds.
Half time scores between Brazil and Spain (1-0) and as expected Brazil are currently in the lead thanks to a goal from Cunha despite Richarlison missing a penalty earlier on, match remains evenly contested, can Brazil hold on to their lead ,let's watch and see.

and this fun fact.

I like the efficiency the Bermuda team have, send 2 athletes and from the two, one delivers a gold medal 🏅.  Other countries should emulate this to avoid investing so much resources without returning  home without medals.
5014  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: some people uneducate about Bitcoins on: August 07, 2021, 08:12:49 AM

Why does some people always say negative about Bitcoins?

1. Lack of knowledge about Bitcoins, uneducate People only saw the negative sides of Bitcoins
It's easy to say bad things about bitcoin if you are on the other side of the fence because you don't have the right knowledge but once you get to know how bitcoin works these negative sentiments are never heard.

2. Some of them say negative feedback because of their experience on some sites about Bitcoins,  because now a days Bitcoin are popular but there are many site will scam you if you are spontaneous to invest in not trusted sites.

Am certain these sites have something to do with investments and promising to payback extra coins and end result is people getting scammed. The problem is people want to get rich overnight this is not what bitcoin is about, people are better off buying the crypto and being hodlers.
5015  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is Altcoin Safe for Investment on: August 06, 2021, 06:37:46 PM
Anything besides bitcoin is an altcoin! And to say is it safe to invest in altcoins is too general of a question!
For your information one of the best performing coins comes from altcoins on any given day,, not even bitcoin comes close in spite being the number one coin.

Just because altcoins could be worth the investment doesn't mean any coin qualifies, you need to know what the projects you interested in and what they are all about, is the team active, Is the coin/project viable to survive in the long term, once these questions are answered then you have your coin.
5016  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Xiomi Portugal start accepting crypto on: August 06, 2021, 05:57:23 PM
This news is quite strange in the sense that Xiomi is a Chinese company...multinational company of course which comes from a state where crypto is not welcome. But what's interesting about all this is xiomi have decided to open its doors for crypto away from its home clearly shows that crypto is a game changer for any business and shows they want crypto to be part of their business. But how is the environment for crypto in Portugal is it a welcome technology there.

Lots of rumours flying around that Messi is going to Mls, dude is still playing actively I don't see any reason why he will move to Mls at this stage, it's either he go to Psg which is very likely or move to Manchester city because of Pep Guadiola, as for the edit that Arsenal fans did, its not possible for Messi to come to Arsenal  Grin, he would like to play in champions league
Lol this one is a good joke and funny too. MLS isn't ready to receive a player like Messi yet but being a free agent you never no where offers will be coming from but from the look of things it's looking more likely like a PSG move.
Should PSG sign him, I see one of the front men leaving for another club as the competition for a spot will be to high but not to get ahead of ourselves it will be interesting to see how PSG attack line will look like after the deal is inked.
5018  Bitcoin / Press / [2021-07-08] Bitcoin fixes this’ — US Infrastructure Bill would add $250B to deb on: August 06, 2021, 03:59:30 PM
Bitcoin fixes this’ — US Infrastructure Bill would add $250B to debt mountain

The United States tax bill, which could hurt Bitcoin (BTC) and crypto holders, will “continue the plunder of future generations,” Cameron Winklevoss argues.

According to new estimates, the proposed Infrastructure Bill currently under discussion in Washington would pile on an extra quarter of a trillion dollars in debt.

Bill may add $256 billion in debt
As the contentious bill makes its way through government, crypto voices continue to warn about a potential tax nightmare, which, they argue, can still be easily avoided.

As Cointelegraph reported, language in the Bill may place undue demands on hodlers and businesses alike.

An effort is currently underway from pro-Bitcoin senators and the crypto industry to change the Bill’s phrasing to reduce the future burden.

Nonetheless, the Bill in and of itself is a cause for concern on an economic level, Winklevoss said.

“The infrastructure bill is estimated to add another $256B to the federal budget deficit,” the Gemini exchange co-founder tweeted Friday.

“It will not be fully paid for. The plunder of future generations continues. Bitcoin fixes this.”
His words come the week after the Federal Reserve saw a new record on its balance sheet, which topped $8.24 trillion for the first time on July 26.

5019  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2020/21 on: August 06, 2021, 08:35:06 AM
https://www.transfermarkt.com/lionel-messi-will-leave-barcelona-laliga-structures-make-deal-impossible/view/news/390547

I was really surprised to hear that Lionel Messi wouldn't be able to play at Barcelona anymore. Until yesterday, everything seemed fine and Barcelona were getting close to signing Lionel Messi with a 50 percent wage cut.
Personally, I wasn't that surprised. I mean, penning down the deal dragged on and on, you could see it coming. If Messi was to stay in the Club, the deal could have been sealed even before he started the Copa América tournament.

It's a little similar to what happened with Ramos and Real Madrid.
True, Barcelona should not try to play victim here and take the news like it's a surprise when they knew how La Liga runs the show. As much as we could love to see Messi keep playing at Barcelona, these two parties new their fate to come.

What lead to the departure

Under La Liga rules that were introduced in 2013, there is a floating salary cap for all teams which limits player wages and acquisition costs to 70 percent of club revenues.

In order to meet that requirement after a drastic reduction in revenues due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, FC Barcelona entered this summer offseason needing to shed well over $200 million in salaries just to sign Messi. But the limited transfer activity across Europe meant that the Blaugrana were nowhere close to that figure, and on Aug. 5, the club and player came to the realization that the signing could not happen under the circumstances.

The announcement of a massive private equity investment into La Liga and its clubs only the day before was interpreted by many as helping Barcelona balance the season’s player budget in a way that virtually guaranteed the Messi deal materializing. Projections based on La Liga’s revenue-sharing formulas had Barcelona benefiting from a cash infusion of over $300 million, of which 15 percent would be used for player signings.

Abraham blow
Arsenal have been dealt a blow in their pursuit of Chelsea striker Tammy Abraham.

According to transfer expert Gianluca Di Marzio, Atalanta are keen to sign the England international this month, with Inter Milan interested in their frontman Duvan Zapata to replace Romelu Lukaku, who appears to be on his way to Stamford Bridge.

The report claims that Abraham wants to join a club in the Champions League
