5021  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin and Education on: April 27, 2020, 08:51:32 AM
I still have a doubt if school would allow cryptocurrency topic/subject in their curriculum since it is very volatile in terms of price movements. Perhaps they would allow some but not necessarily gonna apply it for the subject since it's a risky investment if someone falls for it without giving the full knowledge about of the market movements. But in terms of blockchain i guess school might allow that since it is part of the new technology.
hehe sorry, I mean that too, the blockchain technology is included in the school curriculum because now the blockchain technology is very attention-grabbing and so it is very appropriate to be a school learning

It's actually crypto that's very attention grabbing and not really blockchain technology. People are interested when you say $1 to $1000 in a few years. Or $1000 to $20k in one year for Bitcoin.

But tell them about sha-256 and cryptography and they just say, boring!

I would agree but certainly blockchain technology can be very useful if students learn it early or at least some background as to how this technology works. I can still recall during my HS days, we have elective courses and computer are one of them, it was early, back then computers are not what it is used to be.

So in essence, maybe students would have a have a good start with crypto/blockchain technology. And maybe in the future, this kind of education will become handy to them, not just the investment side of it, but the technology as well.
5022  Economy / Economics / Re: How many people have been panic selling? I didn't. on: April 26, 2020, 11:22:51 PM
I did some panik sale for several times and it was really bad, i believe if i would had holded the tokens probably it would be a smarter decision.

Oh well, you should have at least learn from your mistakes and not to panic sell. If you are a long term investors, you shouldn't be affected, in my opinion. And those who panic sells have short term goals that's why they got nervous if they see the value of their money going down. Just remember this, every downturn in bitcoin and crypto in general is followed by a bounce back. We have seen it already, from as low as $3800 during the pandemic panic to the current price. So in just 5-6 weeks, we have bounce back already and doubled the last price we have, so think about that. So there's a lot of missed opportunity already if you sold during the flash crash.
5023  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Cardano Vs Ethereum Comparison on: April 26, 2020, 10:31:35 PM
I don’t understand why ETH is still considered a top cryptocurrency. this project has long stopped to justify investment in it. It seems to me that Cardano should have taken a leading position in this market for a long time.

Obviously, ETH is still the top altcoin isn't it? As far as justifying investment on it, well the bear market has put a tool on projects so ETH was affected as it is the crypto investments on ICO/IEO. Cardano is good but it didn't enjoy the support of many projects and now that we have Binance mainnet as main competitor, I highly doubt that Cardano can compete with ETH and BNB. And also we have Vitalik on ETH, which I would say the most recognisable name in crypto right now, so that is a plus factor why ETH still remain as the top altcoin up to now.
5024  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Crypto giveaway scams and how to spot them on: April 26, 2020, 02:08:02 PM
Yeah, I encountered some of this scam mostly on twitter, Sometimes they comment on well-known projects, copying the name and change a little bit on their username same on telegram too. I often join giveaways with verified icon on twitter to avoid this scam, also I check the website for official twitter account I don't join right away I review it first. Scammers are everywhere they will pm you with suspicious links don't ever click a link from a suspicious account just blocked and report them.

Yes, twitter is a honey pot for scammers and so are Youtube. That's why it looks like Youtube is really tightening everything specially hacks accounts and channel. And would also suggest to the community that whenever you see one popup in Youtube, report it right away. Very easy to spot, from Vitalik to Elon Musk to Bill Gates and Jeff Bezos fake giveaways. We all know that those rich people are not easily going to give everyone free money. Same for twitter, you can also report those accounts after you block them.
5025  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trading psychology on: April 26, 2020, 11:47:06 AM
The psychological aspect of trading is extremely important. Traders often have to think fast and make quick decisions, darting in and out of stocks on short notice. To accomplish this, they need a certain presence of mind. They also, by extension, need discipline, so they will stick with previously established trading plans and know when to book profits and losses. Emotions simply can't get in the way.

Understanding Fear
When traders get bad news about a certain stock or the general market, it's not uncommon to get scared. They may overreact and feel compelled to liquidate their holdingsand go to cash or to refrain from taking any risks. If they do that, they may avoid certain losses, but they also may miss out on gains

On the opposite side of the spectrum, there is also one emotion that it is already very important to control - GREED.

That's why the first lesson in trading is that you should control your emotions, you don't need to snap and make a decision with a blink of an eye. One thing to mitigate this is to to have an entry and exit plan. In short, stop-loss. It is important to have limits and if my chance you hit your exit strategy, then obviously, it need to be trigger and you need to take the profit. You need need to be greedy and stay inside as it might back fire on you in the long run.
5026  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why Security in Crypto Matters? on: April 26, 2020, 11:13:57 AM
So we should be very careful, educate ourselves first on how to protect our assets, like 2FA, good email practices etc.
You are right, of course, but there is only so much you can do to protect yourself if you hold your coins on an exchange or web wallet, and even the most careful and secure exchange or web wallet user is still exposed to exponentially greater risk than if they held their coins themselves. Using a unique email address with a long and random password, a different long and random password for the exchange, (both generated by an open source password manager), a secure 2FA method for both logging in and making any trades or withdrawals, ensuring your computer is absolutely free from malware, ensuring your internet connection is secure, etc., etc., will protect your individual account from being hacked. But there is absolutely nothing you can do to protect yourself from the exchange exit scamming, going bankrupt, shutting down, making a mistake with their security, compromising their own keys, losing access to their wallets, having their servers or wallets hacked, having malicious employees steal your funds, and the list goes on.

The only way to mitigate these risks is to not hold your coins on an exchange or web wallet at all.

Right, holding coins is not really a good practice as we have heard horror stories of crypto investors leaving huge amount of money to the tune of five to six figures in an exchange and the next day, it was either hack or pull an exit scam. I wouldn't put myself on that position either.

Yes, you can play and trade on an exchange, but you can't really say that you are secured there, with so many ways to get your money lost as you have mentioned. Moved your funds right away to a wallet that you have control or better yet, a hardware wallet.
5027  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Inoue vs Casimero Bantamweight Unification Fight on: April 26, 2020, 09:38:58 AM
It is also possible that Arum realizes that Casimero is really a dangerous opponent for Inoue that might derail his plan for the kid  Smiley.

Maybe this big break give him a peace of mind to realize that casimero is no joke, Inoue's got a very good ranking and it might be destroyed by Casimero, he is thinking of his possible future cash cow, lol... if Inoue will be beaten, his face value will drop, meaning less money for Arum.  Grin

I don't know, he already set up the fight and I think he knows that Inoue can beat Casimero. And if that is the case, then it could really put Inoue's name on the map and be the cash cow. Probably Arum sense that it's really better to move the fight and let Casimero have this sort of get busy fight and for sure the fight are going to be push later.
5028  Economy / Economics / Re: How Will the current pandemic affect the crypto market? on: April 25, 2020, 11:01:29 PM
All predictions depend on the behavior of the "combined" countries with this pandemic. After all, the current financial system is based on trust. Trusts that governments and central banks give paper value. If trust shakes during a pandemic, we may see a tendency to experiment with more new economies and thus prosperity.

Obviously, this is a pandemic, everyone is really affected, from first world to third world countries.
Government printing money is one way they deal with this crisis, but I doubt that this will be the solution.

In short, the persistence of the crisis means better chances of new Bitcoin ATH, while quick, ideal solutions by governments mean fewer chances of it.

That is, if people really thinks that crypto is a safe-haven. Crude oil is done for now, Stocks is on a swing, crypto? making good run, so I do hope that the narrative will hold during this covid-19 pandemic.
5029  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: CRYPTOCURRENCY IN NORTH KOREA on: April 25, 2020, 10:29:57 PM
The only area worth paying attention to is government hacking. I'm sure they would take grrreat pleasure cleaning out American companies. So far it seems to South Koreans and the Japanese who are the stupidest and leave themselves wide open.

I would love to know how they manage to launder the funds they spirit away.

Yes, North Korea has been targeting Japan and South Korea and to a certain extend American exchanges too. They probably work with other criminals like in this report Chinese nationals helped North Korea launder stolen cryptocurrency, US officials say. Or maybe those just submit fake KYC's that they have stolen and used it to open up an exchange account and then cash it out.
5030  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: [Scam] Youtube Channel Bitcoin Giveaway on: April 25, 2020, 11:55:27 AM
Wow! I have encountered this kind of scamming technique before. The problem here is some people will ride the hype and they will comment that they really do receive their share. How come they will double your bitcoin if you will send btc to them without doing anything? People should stay away on this kind of promotion.

Very easy, people or newbies are blindly trusting anyone, and it the dreaded greed sets in, all your logical decision are thrown out of the window and you instantly thinking on how you can make or double your money instantly.

Thanks to the OP, I have reported this youtube channel so that it will be taken down and there will be no more newbie victims here.
5031  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC 2 become hard currency, surge $300Kish. Gov Sieze Debase all other assets. on: April 25, 2020, 09:39:51 AM

I would go as far to say this could make it or some other cryptos go to the $300K plus

I wish I'd  see this price anytime soon, but I just can't believe it will happen at this time since the pandemic has been hitting us hard.

What you are saying is more like your own theory or personal opinion, but I'm certain majority don't trust bitcoin to grow that high.

Right, but going from 5 digit to 6 digit is very difficult to achieve so it might take some time probably next 5-10 years maybe. Remember that when we rose to $20k it was not that easy as it looks, takes years just to get to that all time high and then suddenly it was burst.

We have our own theory, but it is better to be realistic though in our prediction so that the obvious disappointment will not set in very early.
5032  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Fundraising threads on behalf of COVID-19. Don't trust, verify. on: April 25, 2020, 08:52:54 AM
Thanks for the fair warning, but it really looks like very suspicious in my end. So I have my doubts about this newbie account posting about this so called fund raising. Of course, there are still a lot of kind hearted person in this community, but it's better to be cautious and not to fall for this trick. You don't even need to verify it, a newbie account?? Hmm.

5033  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Good time to get some Ethereum? on: April 25, 2020, 08:25:06 AM
It's a Good time to get some Ethereum?

Ether has risen More than 70% since March 13 and may be about to rise further, It looks like the next ETH 2.0 launch seems to be raising the price of ETH.

https://www.coingecko.com/en/coins/ethereum

Ethereum still enjoy the support of crypto enthusiast, after all it is still the second coin and the top altcoin in the market, so definitely, if you're longer for a long term investment, it is one of the coin that you have to look at. ETH 2.0 will be a good hype, and then we still have the bitcoin block halving. Because we all know that when bitcoin goes on another bull run, it will have a domino effect and Ethereum will be one 'beneficiary' of this trickle. So if you have some extra funds, or wanted to increase your portfolio, Ethereum should be included, just saying.
5034  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why Security in Crypto Matters? on: April 25, 2020, 07:44:06 AM
I`m partially new on this topic, but I think that any funds that you intend to use virtually should be protected better than physical money. And if you send it somewhere, it should be your own responsibility. Maybe in future we will be able to create our own wallet systems lol.

That's why we have our old adage here: "Not your keys, not your coins'. So if you deposited your coins to an exchanges then you relinquished everything to them as they have now the full control over it. Well sending is very easy, you just have to get the senders btc address, but what goes after sending it to the exchanges is very different.

Although exchanges truly do their best to up and tempo and their security against those criminals. But usually criminals are like two steps of the game. Billions and billions worth of coins have been hacked and i seems that we are very helpless against this criminals. So we should be very careful, educate ourselves first on how to protect our assets, like 2FA, good email practices etc.
5035  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Stay away from Vindax on: April 24, 2020, 11:52:05 PM
Holy f*ck! What the scamming method. Feel sorry for you and thanks for warning people.

Lol, no need to exaggerate as I'm sure that Vindax has been doing this to a lot of their customers and maybe no one is complaining about it except the OP himself who is brave enough to exposed how Vindax is pulling this sort of scam quietly. I think with this expose, newbies should stay away from this exchange so that you won't be the next victim here. Mostly newbies are the target here. But you guys are lucky today because there are a lot of members here exposing those scam exchanges so heed their experience and call.
5036  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Now is the best time on: April 24, 2020, 11:18:31 PM
No where in the world is currently safe from Cov-19 and there is lockdown in every country today, this is the best time to gain people's trust, online job seeking have increased through Google search and new people are getting into crypto investment, what is the best time to release your project if it's not now?

Regardless of the Covid-19 pandemic, if your project is shit from the beginning, no one will invest on it to be honest. So it is still base on how well developed or how unique is your project. If it is something different then whether we are in the lockdown or not, there will be people that are going to be interested.

As far as job online though, yes, probably the best time to hone your resume and try to search that will fit your skills. But it will be difficult as well, as you are going to compete with other people who are seeking jobs online, just saying.
5037  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [ BOXING ]: Fury vs Wilder III in Las Vegas on 18th July 2020 !!! on: April 24, 2020, 10:33:22 PM
This fight will be move to October 3, this year according to the article I read.

https://talksport.com/sport/boxing/677648/boxing-news-tyson-fury-vs-deontay-wilder-3-date-start-time-coronavirus-pandemic/

Quote
Fury vs Wilder 3: Date and time
Fury is slated to fight Wilder for the third time next after the Bronze Bomber took up his rematch clause.

The date and location of the bout has not officially been confirmed yet and was expected to be held at the MGM Grand again on July 18.

That has had to be changed due to the ongoing issues surrounding the pandemic and the fight is now reportedly set to take place on October 3 in Las Vegas again.

More time for Wilder to prepare, this is a revenge fight, he has to take it seriously and accept defeat if ever he will lose in this fight again.

Yes more time to prepare or just delaying the inevitable. Sometimes fights that are postpone put a lot of mental stress specially if you are the one chasing and wanting to make a big revenge win in the case of Wilder. Maybe he is taking the training lightly and not to push himself and overtrain. So many variables right now because of this pandemic that really affected a lot of sporting events. But then again, if Wilder shows the same self, no adjustment and just really on his power, then I guess it will be the same result.
5038  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Importance of Double Checking while playing Roulette? on: April 24, 2020, 01:22:02 PM
It's a newbie mistake but every now and then some people still fall for it. There are cases in which bets are doubled unbeknownst to the user especially if they clicked the "2x bet on loss" function. This still happens even though it's very clear what will happen if someone clicked on that. This doesn't seem to be similar in your case, although you still might have clicked on adding 1 whole ETH (does this function exist on your platform?) without you knowing consciously since you're in the heat of the moment.

Human mistakes happens despite being a pro or newbie. Sometimes gambling requires a lot of thinking and thinking of ways to win and strategy. Thus making you press unnecessary buttons.
I even tick the odds percentage unknowingly, and wonder why my bets keep losing. I think gambling sites should add another warning popup message, so that when a users mistakenly clicks "double bet button" a warning sign pops.

I doubt that gambling sites will implement it though. I mean how do they know that you click it by mistakes. I myself did a lot of mistakes not just in roulette but many games and most of the time I was late when I realised my mistakes. Maybe there are few occasions that it bring me more money because of that mistakes and I'm glad that I was lucky then. But everyone should be cautious and not get excited and just started to roll, check your bets first before you regret everything.
5039  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Blockchain Usage By Businesses on: April 24, 2020, 12:26:45 PM
Blockchain technology has made it easier for businesses to do business together because it has dramatically simplified the production process. Is it really great for businesses in the long run?

Depends on what business are you describing here. There could be mid-tier businesses and companies that doesn't need blockchain per se, perhaps their good old and legacy systems are enough to capture the data, translate it to a business process to improve their production. I think in the last two years or so, everyone really thinks that blockchain is the solution to everything, but voting process to companies who even understand the concept of blockchain or how it can help them.

So for me, I would say not all business are geared toward having a blockchain technology, maybe just a simple database will be suffice. But a companies that processes large set of data, let says a supply chain company, then I did blockchain will help them a lot to streamline everything and of course that business decisions base on the data can spell success or failure of a company.
5040  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin spread rapidly on ‘China Twitter’ the price will rise before halving on: April 24, 2020, 11:40:40 AM
Give the OP a break, maybe he is just excited about that event. However, I would agree with the rest of the guys here, China is just one country here, and to be honest, we all know their anti-bitcoin stance so I doubt that they are going to be the first entity to push the price or start this bull run before the halving. As for the keywords "Bitcoin Halving", obviously, as we get closer to the date, there will be spikes but it doesn't equate that Chinese are going to invest on it right away. Let's wait what the world economy is going first because of this Covid-19 pandemic before we can speculate a bitcoin bull run. Because as much as we downplay the pandemic, it still has some effect to the market.
