well no exploit even not be mentioning on lasted blackhat or defcon main talks conferences . well at least talking to myself to be honest .. I wasn't really paying attention to any CMS forum talk hacking .. but to be fair all those bb,php forum based have a fair history of hacking ... and as I said it's safe only because people are not poking enough yet ... it's like you are safe because you are running one of those OS http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Atari_DOSor http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/TRON_Project That's the point of hacking: exploiting vulnerabilities not discovered and patched by security specialists. Besides most account "hacks" on Bitcointalk.org are happening due to user error: inputing your login data in phishing websites, getting your computer infected with malware that tracks key strokes.

Why is this pointless: 1. The post will be deleted by the hacker if the account gets compromised. 2. Quotes without the original post mean absolutely nothong as they can be freely modified. 3. The hacker will know where to look exactly for the post with the address. 4. It is inconvenient for theymos to look for deleted posts. As hilariousandco mentioned, I suggest doing this instead: -snip- you can send a PM to an account that won't delete it (you could use DefaultTrust for this). After you send it, check your outbox and make a note of the PM's ID (visible in the quote URL). -snip-
Well sorry for trying to help..... Just a heads up, don't take it the wrong way.

I'm definitely interested in a site so PM me as well. Personally after LTC I would look to just become the cryptsy of dice. Add every coin under the sun. I'm not a believer in any of them but profit is profit, turn the alt coins into BTC the day commission is taken.
I don't think that would be worth it. Too many management, technical and support issues if dooglus made the site accept not just several altcoins. I'd say, just accept the most popular ones like LTC, maybe NXT as well and wait for any others rising up in popularity.

STOP POSTING "SIGN UPDATED" OR YOUR WALLET ADDRESS MOD IS GONNA END UP CLOSING THE THREAD AGAIN! JUST SAY ADD ME TO THE LIST OR I WANNA BE PART OF HONORCOIN
Better yet, don't. Send a PM instead of spamming here. BTW, "add me to the list" or "I wanna be part if <insert coin name here>" is also spam. Report such posts when you notice them. Send a PM to whom and for what? Dev is a scammer and dissapeared already. This thread must be closed. It's not my concern whether he scammed or not: such cases are not moderated to prevent abuse. I'm just warning everyone regarding spammy posts.

Bump. Still selling both games, just PM or write here if you have any questions or want to buy.

I think moved it. Please report site announcements that are in the Services section when you see them.
I reported a similar thread yesterday to be mode to service announcement. It is still sitting in the services section. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=342443.0Only specific mods can moderate some threads. Just wait a bit: global mods usually get tons of reports that need to be handled.

Trust is not moderated except rare occasions when the trust feedback is spam/advertising/etc. Tl;dr: no.

why doesnt theymos respond to PM ? he reads threads... but not PMs... kinda pointless.. perhaps we need someone who can read PMs and help ppl.
Im sure themymos read the PM. The PM however is missing something very important. -snip- I've checked before sending. Looks right. -----BEGIN BITCOIN SIGNED MESSAGE----- My account technomancer has been hacked/lost. Please reset the email to xxx@xxx.com. Not related with any bitcointalk account. a reference that the address 1USDaf42U2ytrCqHVsC3uHmYHrdeA59B8 was used by the person who controlled the account in the first place. I can make a PM like that. Thats no proof that technomancer is my account. The way this works is very clear. If you can prove with a single PM that you own the account you are fine. If you are unable to make this PM you make a new account. Technomancer, Bitcoinmafia and all the others that are whining and begging here currently are unable to make this PM. Why should theymos change the mail on those account if there is no proof? -----BEGIN BITCOIN SIGNED MESSAGE----- My account technomancer has been hacked/lost. Please reset the email to xxx@xxx.com. I already asked this but thanks for a clearer explanation. Maybe he'll understand it now. We already did that. I'm waiting theymos to recover account this time. The system we have now to correct things manually upon identification is plenty good when you consider it requires no further changes to maintain.
It's not a massive problem anyway.
Oh, trust me: sometimes it is. Though it depends on the timeframe, but overall there are lots of posts that I move everyday. Some seem like honest mistakes, while some did that intentionally. Back on topic, I think that even some rules can be enforced easier this way. For example a question: "Is this thread is about a website?" AND IF ANSWERED YES "Have you already made a thread about it?" would reduce on duplicate threads if the poster just didn't know the rules. I suppose topics aren't posted that often, so to ask a few questions to guide the post to the correct forum wouldn't be too bothersome. The trouble I find is that you can't get a decent mapping between answers and forums without asking lots of questions. Your proposal to ask questions to tackle the problem of duplicate threads could be useful, however once people are savvy to the mechanism they will simply click no, allowing them to post the topic. Also there may be legitimate cases to make a new topic. I like the idea of using the questions to tackle other problems, rather than the miscategorisation issue, which is a complex one. Topics are made quite often, just many of them get deleted or moved fast. Also, if you made a duplicate post with the mechanism in place, one could safely assume this intent was malicious. Well, I wouldn't say that it would be a safe assumption that the intent was malicious, I mean would these questions be in multiple languages, or would it only be on the main, English forums? They needn't be questions if you want the user to think about what they are posting, just simply assumptions that the agree to before making the post. It would be like having some forum rules spelt out in front of the user before creating the post. I think that it has a very limited use case - they could simply make the thread under a different user. I still think that the idea of having some mechanism to make users think about what they are posting. Ultimately the onus is still on the community and staff to clean up the mess. There are local mods who can translate the messages. Aside from that, this kind of categorization could be done just for Jr. Members and bellow. Great way to introduce new members to the rules.

Mods/admins don't moderate or deal with scams. The community policies itself over these matters.
I can confirm that. Moderating scams leaves too much room for authority abuse.

Guys I've been trying to let people know all day, including alerting the admins here, Honorcoin is the culprit. They send people to their website to register for 'free' coins and as part of the registration process they ask for the Bitcointalk forum name, a password and an email address.
Honorcoin? The irony. I'll never understand why people clamour for all these free yet always worthless crapcoins, especially when this is what you end up getting. People expect free money. But as you can see here, nothing comes free except cheese in a mousetrap.
