As of today we have a little more fire power in Washington. Here is an update from Jim Harper. By Jim Harper, Global Policy Counsel• July 9, 2014
I’m pleased to report that we’ve retained an outside lobbying firm to carry information about Bitcoin to Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C. Thorsen French Advocacy is a small, well-respected, bipartisan firm whose leaders I’ve known for more than fifteen years. Their task is to introduce Bitcoin and the foundation to Capitol Hill offices, demystify our favorite protocol, explain its benefits, and show that...

That's like $63.00. And as stated by the poster, it ships to an FFL.

RodeosX,, 5399 diehl ln, 63049 is on 10 acres of land, with possible 10 acres next to it available. How much raw land and where are you looking if you don't mind me asking?
Hi, Mostly I'm looking for 40+ acre tracts. But Maybe less space for high quality land. Like with waterfront for example. I'll look at the ones you have posted. But I would prefer a place in Wisconsin. -Cheers

I'm still not clear on the chronology here. You deposited bitcoin, then a few mins. later it moved out of your wallet? Because that means you were robbed. This certainly could happen that fast. In fact it could happen in much less than 1 second.
Some questions that may help: What type of two factor authentication do you use?
What OS are you using? Oh, I see now. Have you ever downloaded any bitcoin related software that is not open source? Do you have the transaction ID that moved the BTC out of your wallet?
This info should help figure out what is going on.

I really don't understand why some peoples think it's dying when the price is going down. Bitcoin is stronger than he ever was at the moment. It's not the altcoin market here.
If you really think BTC is dying just sell all and don't come back.
I doubt the OP believes anything of the sort. I bet he created this second account because he knows better. It's just another of the million weak attempts to drive the price down a few bucks for a quick profit. As ridiculous as it sounds, it sometimes works. It is especially effective against the bitcoin "investor". Many people buy some bitcoin to take them to the moon. They don't understand what they have bought, or know about the price fluctuation pattern in bitcoin. When the price drops 20% and they see that "bitcoin is dying!!!!!" they panic sell at a loss. And who is there with a funded account ready to buy? Why the FUDster of course. The next day the price goes back up and the FUDster sells. This has been going on since maybe 3rd. quarter 2012. Don't be a fool and think someone else knows something you do not.

Thanks for the offer but I'll have to pass, can't smoke weed or drink beer there. sounds like a hellhole ![Cheesy](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/cheesy.gif) Beer is allowed there. If it is like other gulf states, non-Muslim tourists can drink in designated areas. But again, it will your help your business dealings to be respectful and not drink.

Oh great. Another newbie has pronounced bitcoin dead. That makes 12,472 fails to date!

I'm thinking about going in the fall. For business, not fun. You get cred in Dubai for non-partying. No drinks, no skin showing. Very little fun. lol

I'm looking for real estate that is buy-able in bitcoin also. Not a house, just large tracts of raw land. When I buy one I will have to pay capitol gains on the appreciation in value. Not sure how they do it in the UK, but I think you may owe also. The only loophole I can think of is in Denmark. You may be able to get a house without capitol gains there.

I like to think I was realistic before and I am realistic after the auction.

How about a trade? Perhaps a program that forgives some of your debt in exchange for volunteering. You could chose Americorp, military service, peace corp, or other federal service organizations. You would not only get a break on your debt, but a resume line.

If you have super-powers, I don't see why you need money. ![Huh](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/huh.gif) Couldn't you use your powers to get the money. Like hover over a fountain while collecting coins that have been thrown in? I mean your saying your fasting in preparation. That does not sound expensive.

That god damn chart.
LOL ![Cheesy](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/cheesy.gif) Not again.

I don't know about them paying it off...But they need to be looked at. ...
I think we are basically in agreement. Something has to be done or we may loose our global advantage in education. I would start by not taking a loan under those terms. Rates must have a market and if enough people refuse to pay more than 4% then that will become the rate. (assuming it is still profitable). A lot of blame also lies with the schools. They are used to spending as much as they like and expecting that students will accept rate hikes and keep paying. That era is gone. Schools are going to have to get lean and competitive to survive. Bottom line for me is that these changes are going to come from students who refuse contracts and not from government. It is not the governments role to protect you from your own bad decisions by giving you money taken from people who made better choices.

Sure go ahead it.... Wait, you mean with the tax money I sent them? Hell no!
Why should the government do that? They did not help with my tuition, nor did they pay off my home loan. So I should not have to pay off someone's loan then compete for jobs against them. If a student can't pay off their loans then they should drop out. Welcome to the real world.
So when did you graduate college, how much loans did you acquire? What % were you getting charged. My guess is you have no idea what is happening to college students at the moment or how unfair it is to be a younger person. Just a guess but that is what it sounds like, My guess is you are around 45-50. You are right about my age! But I as a teacher I am aware of the ballooning student debt and the unholy laws that preclude debt elimination. However, that does not lead me to the idea that the government should pay off the loans. Loans are contracts entered into freely. You obligate yourself when you sign. It is unfair to young people that so many of our systems and policies have an utter disregard for the future. But that is the world we all have to live in now. If you are like me and dislike this reality then let's change the world. That's a much better option than asking for a bailout without changing the conditions that led to the problem.

What programs/software could i use, if there is any that could detect if the files i'm downloading is safe or not? Is malwarebytes enough? ![Huh](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/huh.gif) This why i love open source software. For example, bitcoin-QT. The reason I can safely assume that it is virus free is because nothing is hidden. The source code is released along with the executable file. Any mal-ware in the code would be easily spotted. Proprietary software keeps the source code hidden and you must rely on anti-virus software, which might not work.
