While the US was and is playing cat and mouse in the middle east, China was busy getting their tentacles in Africa and now the US is trying to catch up.

(Reuters) - One serviceman was killed and 14 wounded, including a German general, when a man in Afghan army uniform opened fire on international and Afghan forces at a military training academy in Kabul on Tuesday, the German military and Afghan officials said.
ISAF, the international force in Afghanistan, said the attack took place at a British military training academy in the capital.
Germany's Der Spiegal reported that a two star U.S. general was killed in the attack. ISAF declined to comment but said one of its service members had been killed in the attack that took place at around noon.
"The wounded German general, whose life is no longer in danger, is being given medical treatment," it said.
The Afghan president was quick to condemn the attack, saying the delegation had been visiting the facility to help build Afghanistan's security forces.
Afghanistan's Defense Ministry confirmed the gunman was wearing an Afghan army uniform.
"Today at 12pm, a terrorist in army uniform opened fire on international partners and other Afghan officers, wounding several," the statement said.
Such attacks have eroded trust between the allies and complicated efforts to train Afghanistan's 350,000-strong security force.
In a similar attack on Tuesday, several were wounded in eastern Paktia province when a policeman opened fire on international and Afghan forces, police chief Zalmay Oryakhil said.
The Taliban says insider attacks reflect their ability to infiltrate the enemy, while ISAF officials say the incidents often arise over misunderstandings or altercations between troops.
In 2012, dozens of incidents forced international troops to take measures to reduce interaction with their Afghan partners and since then, the number of insider attacks has fallen sharply.
Adding to the tension, a NATO airstrike hit a vehicle carrying civilians in western Herat province, local officials said, killing four members of one family including two children.
"We strongly condemn the killings by foreign troops and we have reported this to the presidential palace," deputy provincial governor, Aseeluddin Jameh, told Reuters.
"The family was coming back from a wedding in Shindand district when they were hit."
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2014/08/05/us-general-killed-afghanistan_n_5650865.htmlApparently, HuffPo can't figure out whether it was a German or American General. It was American. I'll leave out my personal opinion of this.

International coverage Justin Amash wins Michigan Republican primary NSA critic, savaged in attack ads and targeted by security establishment, comfortably retains congressional nomination
Dan Roberts in Washington Wednesday 6 August 2014 00.56 EDT
A leading congressional critic of the National Security Agency, Justin Amash, successfully fended off political attacks on his patriotism on Thursday in a lively night of primary elections that also saw incumbents defeat a reindeer farmer from Michigan and radiologist who posted morbid X-rays on Facebook.
Amash – who led the first attempt in the House of Representatives to rein in the NSA after revelations of mass domestic surveillance by Edward Snowden – comfortably defeated Brian Ellis for the Republican party nomination in Michigan’s third district.
Ellis had campaigned heavily against Amash’s record on privacy issues and his separate calls for the closure of Guantánamo Bay, enlisting military veterans to record attack adverts that referred to him as “al-Qaida’s best friend in Congress”.
Amash’s well-funded challenger was also supported by powerful elements in Washington’s security establishment, including House intelligence committee chair Mike Rogers, making this primary election perhaps the first real test of public support for NSA critics at the ballot box.
In an emotional acceptance speech Amash demanded an apology from Ellis for running a “disgusting and despicable smear campaign” and claimed his win represented “a remarkable margin of victory” given the number of establishment interest groups against him.

REBEL LEADER JUSTIN AMASH WINS BIG IN MICHIGAN
by CHARLIE SPIERING 5 Aug 2014, 8:05 PM PDT
Rebellious Republican Rep. Justin Amash has won his re-election battle in Michigan’s 3rd district against his challenger Brian Ellis, a blow to the GOP Establishment which had put significant resources into the race.
Ellis conceded the race as Amash had 55 percent of the vote and Ellis had 44 percent with 44 percent of the precincts reporting.
Allies of Speaker John Boehner had rallied for pro-establishment candidate Republican Brian Ellis and to take out Amash, the first lawmaker to vote against Boehner for speaker on the House floor in January 2013.
Ellis, a Grand Rapids businessman, loaned his campaign over $1 million and earned the support of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and the Michigan Chamber of Commerce.
Ellis used his money for an onslaught of negative ads that painted Amash as "Al Qaeda's best friend" and accused the pro-life congressman of voting to allow “gender-selection abortions to continue."
After winning his 2010 election, Amash went to Congress at the age 30 making him the second-youngest sitting congressman in Congress.

Amash Beats Back Crony Republican's Primary Challenge
Robby Soave | Aug. 5, 2014 10:59 pm
Incumbent Rep. Justin Amash (R-Mich.) survived a closely-watched primary election Tuesday night, defeating challenger Brian Ellis 55 percent to 45 percent and retaining the Republican nomination for the west Michigan House seat. Ellis conceded around 10:30 p.m. ET, according to the Grand Rapids Press.
Amash, a liberty-friendly Republican whose principled opposition to NSA spying, crony capitalism, and foreign entanglements has earned him support from libertarians—as well as the enmity of the GOP establishment—was forecast to win the race weeks ago. However, his political survival was not always a matter of fact. Neoconservative Republicans and corporatist special interests backed Ellis early in the race. Their attempts to portray Amash as the "best friend" of both Nancy Pelosi and al-Qaida backfired, however. District voters told Slate's Dave Weigel that they were tired of Ellis's negative campaigning and agreed with Amash that it was wrong to trade liberty for security.
Having secured the Republican nomination, Amash is all but guaranteed to be re-elected in November. Undeniable good news: It seems a libertarian Congressman can fight an uncompromising battle against big government and big business and keep his seat, after all.

To those that were unaware of this, this race was deemed the most nasty in terms of smears and big money coming in to oust one of the premiere constitutional warriors in the US Congress. The big money puppet, chamber of commerce republican Brian Ellis, even spent upwards of a million USD to primary one of most popular grassroots favored representatives in the country. After Brat defeated Majority leader Eric Cantor the political class set their sights on Amash and subsequently got their asses handed to them once again. Justin Amash Quells an Establishment Revolt He was significantly outspent, but victorious nonetheless.
By Joel Gehrke AUGUST 6, 2014 1:00 AM
A libertarian, tea-party congressman just rolled to reelection in a congressional district that is home to some of the wealthiest people in the business wing of the Republican party.
Representative Justin Amash (R., Mich.) was outspent by his opponent, Brian Ellis, who had the support of the Chamber of Commerce and other House Republicans, but it was never even a tight race. “It’s been a pretty significant lead for the congressman throughout,” a Republican consultant and pollster in Michigan unaffiliated with either campaign told National Review Online Monday.
As of this writing, Amash enjoys a comfortable double-digit lead, garnering 57 percent of the vote to Ellis’s 43 percent.
Ellis’s campaign was supposed to demonstrate the political costs of the government shutdown — the primary was supposed to be another “establishment strikes back” moment in the 2014 election cycle. “I’m hearing it from everybody,” Ellis told The Hill in November of last year. “[The shutdown was] no way to run a country. It’s no way to govern.”
In the end, it was Ellis who was left with no way to govern. Amash spokesman Will Adams attributed his candidate’s success to the fact that there is “overwhelming grassroots support for Justin and almost no grassroots support for Ellis.”

Frightening dimension to forever evolving war on terrorThe Ebola scare may soon feed into the war on terror narrative. On Sunday Breitbart covered a report produced by the Customs and Border Protection (CBP) agency stating that an increasing number of people apprehended on the border are infected with the Ebola virus.
“At least 71 individuals from the three nations affected by the current Ebola outbreak have either turned themselves in or been caught attempting to illegally enter the U.S. by U.S. authorities between January 2014 and July 2014,” Breitbart reported.
The report also noted a significant number of illegal immigrants caught crossing the border are from Pakistan, Yemen and Somalia, countries where Islamic terrorists are active.
Texas Governor Rick Perry underscored this potential threat when he told CNN some illegal immigrants coming across the border are from countries with substantial terrorist ties.
The mention of possible terrorist infiltration and Ebola sets the stage for a scary prospect — a biological attack on America.
For the government this represents an opportunity to expand a terror narrative that has dominated domestic and foreign policy for over a decade. More... http://www.infowars.com/next-phase-of-the-ebola-crisis-terrorism/Who knows, this could all be a front to flip the war on terror script and get people begging for some sort of intervention again. Heck, even all of us are looking at this thing seriously.

... A cover story like a germ. It’s all about the germ. The demon. The strange attacker. (See, for example, this March 27th, Reuter’s article entitled “Beware of bats: Guinea issues bushmeat warning after Ebola outbreak”.) Forget everything else. The germ is the single enemy. Forget the fact, for example, that a recent study of 15 pharmacies and 5 hospital drug dispensaries in Sierra Leone discovered the widespread and unconscionable use of beta-lactam antibiotics. These drugs are highly toxic. One of their effects? Excessive bleeding.
Which just happens to be the scary “Ebola effect” that’s being trumpeted in the world press. (J Clin Microbiol, July 2013, 51(7), 2435-2438), and Annals of Internal Medicine Dec. 1986, “Potential for bleeding with the new beta-lactam antibiotics”) Forget the fact that pesticide companies are notorious for shipping banned toxic pesticidesto Africa. One effect of the chemicals? Bleeding. Forget that. It’s all about the germ and nothing but the germ. Forget the fact that, for decades, one of the leading causes of death in the Third World has been uncontrolled diarrhea. Electrolytes are drained from the body, and the adult or the baby dies. Any sane doctor would make it his first order of business to replace electrolytes with simple supplementation—but no, the standard medical line goes this way: The diarrhea is caused by germs in the intestinal tract, so we must pile on massive amounts of antibiotics to kill the germs. The drugs kill off all bacteria in the gut, including the necessary and beneficial ones, and the patient can’t absorb what little food he has access to, and he dies. Along the way, he can also bleed. ... More... http://www.infowars.com/ebola-covert-op-in-a-hypnotized-world/Keep in mind, I'm just the messenger here and wanted to stir up the pot a little.

I'm awaiting arrival of my pre-order but the recent emails said it could take up to a few weeks for non-Euro orders. I'm sure there'll be a learning curve for me to use it properly but I spent a whole BTC on this back in the day so it'll definitely be a novelty for me.

You are right. It seems the Dogecoin pump and dump has ended and the bag-holders are left holding the bag. Dogecoin seems dead, and I see no advantage to litecoin to allow merged mining. Almost seems like the Doge "million and billionaires" want to offload their garbage on the Litecoin community. If that's what's really going on here then, barf.

Obama has cut spending, had to deal with Bush’s mess, does not have the SS surplus that Reagan, Bush and Bush used to hide much of their record deficits and much of Obama’s deficit is the caused by the shortage in the SS fund. Then Obama has had to deal with Republicans’ promise to screw up everything until we get rid of the Black President.
So get this through your heads. The Republicans are the one who waste money, they increase welfare (much of it is for the rich) and even with their record tax increases they set record deficits.
Good lord, why would you vote for a Republican?
They voted republican because Bush started two wars AND cut taxes at the same time, and they thought this was a grand idea. That is the conservative's idea of sound fiscal policy. When asked specifically what items he disagreed with on the Tea Party platform and why he feared them the above is his response. Totally incapable of any intelligent debate or to even stand up and defend his claims. But no one expected you to actually debate your claims or defend your stance because we all know that would take a few more brain cells that you posses. We agree with much of what the Tea Party says. We also agreed with the promises Reagan, Bush and Bush made. It just that they all turned out to be lies. We are still waiting for the Republicans’ no nation building, cuts in government spending, cuts in taxes and paying off the national debt. You know the things that happen under the Democrats. For one, it's the TP folks that are trying to hold the republican establishment's line on caving on debt hikes over and above the true fiscal hawks in the liberty republican movement. Both of the parties have a political class and ruling elite and they both compromise our rights away. But to sit here and act like democrats are somehow different and that they are this savior of a party that cuts spending, doesn't nation build or pays off any portion of the national debt is beyond laughable. Currently, there isn't any identifiable element in the democratic party that stands for any of those things like there is and growing w/i the republican party. Why left leaning people don't admit that on one hand or give credit where credit is due on the other just flat out baffles me. The GOP establishment uses people of this mindset because they whip you all up about the non-establishment's supposed social views and then gets you all riled up to the point of meddling in GOP primaries to vote for the corporate bankster/special interest MIC establishment republicans that you supposedly hate. It's maddening. At least there's a growing anti-establishment status in the GOP that is looking to clean house, not so much on the left side is all they do is circle the wagons w/ drone talking points and fairy tales instead of lambasting the frauds on their side.

Pretty sure we just fill in the claim link w/ our address (first timers) on the 17th and receive payment in the next few days. Anyways, I just checked back on this thread and seen there's an updated sig which I'll promptly change to.

1k USD is max, we will never reach more. today the price declined 5 USD, so bitcoin is dying . I don't know whether that was sarcasm or not. What's interesting is that you are around since April 2013, so you've experienced 1-2 bubbles. You should've learned by now that Bitcoin doesn't show any signs of dying right now. Why so pessimistic? Check out the smiley in the thread title post and it's clearly indicative of trolling. As long as Bitcoin sticks around and expands its usage, it's impossible for it not to go up in value. Heck, as fiat depreciates, this alone adds value to this crypto.

(CNSNews.com) - The total federal debt of the U.S. government has now increased more than $7 trillion during the slightly more than five and a half years Barack Obama has been president.
That is more than the debt increased under all U.S. presidents from George Washington through Bill Clinton combined, and it is more debt than was accumulated in the first 227 years of this nation's existence--from 1776 through 2003.
The total federal debt first passed the $7-trillion mark on Jan. 15, 2004, after President George W. Bush had been in office almost three years. More #s... http://www.cnsnews.com/news/article/terence-p-jeffrey/706025967449751-federal-debt-7t-under-obama

UPPER EAST SIDE (WABC) -- Mount Sinai Hospital is performing tests on a patient who had recently traveled to a West African country where Ebola has been reported, the hospital says.
A male patient with high fever and gastrointestinal symptoms came to the hospital's emergency room on Monday morning, officials said.
The hospital says the patient has been placed in strict isolation and is undergoing medical screenings to determine the cause of his symptoms.
"All necessary steps are being taken to ensure the safety of all patients, visitors and staff. We will continue to work closely with federal, state and city health officials to address and monitor this case, keep the community informed and provide the best quality care to all of our patients," the hospital wrote in a statement. That's right, right off 5th Avenue adjacent to Manhattan boundaries for all the liberals and nutballs in the media trying to downplay this potential tragic change of events. Not just in Atlanta in the dirty south but right smack dab in the middle of the financial heartland. Video and more... http://7online.com/health/mount-sinai-patient-tested-for-ebola-virus/239663/
