5083  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Please explain to me why BCH (Bitcoin Cash) is Satoshi's "true" vision. on: October 20, 2017, 08:40:51 AM
Read the whitepaper you will get your answers.
The whitepaper is highly outdated.

Contrary to popular belief I do think BCH is closer to the original bitcoin than current BTC.
It is not.

Please not I said ORIGINAL, I did not say TRUE or REAL.
Original is useless and was broken, thus this statement is inherently flawed. There is only one Bitcoin, the Bitcoin that we use today. Whether it is going in the direction that Satoshi envisioned or not is irrelevant and anyone who appeals to that is an idiot. Do they not realize the extensive amount of research that has done since his departure or "posts of his visions" and now?

That is because I believe as the ecosystem evolves, so will bitcoin. So the real bitcoin will be whatever we decide it to be. Make sense?
Bitcoin Core as the reference implementation and the current Bitcoin. Anything else, in the foreseeable future, is an altcoin.

5086  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Please explain to me why BCH (Bitcoin Cash) is Satoshi's "true" vision. on: October 20, 2017, 08:27:02 AM
Simple: That statement is a lie, and thus the answer is "It has literally nothing to do with Satoshi's true vision", not that that "vision" matters given that Bitcoin is not a frigging religion. Anyone who claims something like that is a paid shill or just a baboon.

5088  Economy / Services / Re: Looking for marketing manager (0.5 BTC - 3 BTC per month) on: October 20, 2017, 05:58:48 AM
You are pretty much offering a legitimate full time job here, with 0.5 BTC monthly, basically being a minimum wage job.
I don't know where you're talking about, but in the majority of countries $2800 (0.5 BTC) is well (or way) above the minimum.

Ask for pics of the person, have a video conference. Pretty much perform an interview on this person, like you would with a real life job application.
That reduces the amount of potential candidates though. Some prefer to remain anonymous, IYKWIM.
5089  Economy / Services / Re: Looking for marketing manager (0.5 BTC - 3 BTC per month) on: October 20, 2017, 05:36:06 AM
What's supposed to be 0.5 BTC - 3 BTC, the budget? Surely it can't be the payment that you're offering for this position per month, given that the later is over $15 000/mo.
The 15 000 USD is indeed our upper limit for this position (without expenses). Although, the lower number is more realistic for a new manager.
That seems like a very decent starting offer (with a generous upper bound) given what I've seen during recent times (e.g. ICOs paying only in their tokens). Just watch out for wannabe managers or those pretending to be such; we have often seen this with signature campaign managers. Evaluate their post history first.

Why'd you end the campaign? Was it not effective enough for you?
Exactly, the conversions weren't high enough.
Interesting. Well, I do not know whether Google Ads are going to be more effective. However, given the amount of spam that this forum has it is no surprise that your advertisements weren't as effective. Maybe you should try purchasing forum AD slots as well and see how that goes.

5092  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: August 1 and Bitcoin core wallet on: October 19, 2017, 07:32:41 PM
Is it safe to use the method below?
Do i need to send my BTC to a new wallet with new private key after or is it safe to have the wallet.dat i have now?

https://medium.com/@itsjameswhite/how-to-claim-bitcoin-cash-from-bitcoin-core-to-a-full-node-wallet-de661b8e7dda
It is best to transfer your BTC to a new wallet, and then import the private keys of the old wallet into a BCH wallet such as Bitcoin ABC.

What you need to do to spend your ABC coins is to just make a copy of your Core wallet.dat file. Then install the Bitcoin ABC client and put your copied wallet.dat file in the place where you want the ABC datadir to be (do this before starting ABC). Then start ABC and let it sync. When you want to spend your ABC coins, just use the ABC wallet. When you want to spend your Core coins, use the Bitcoin Core wallet.
Yes, that can work as well if you want to compromise all private keys. As said, best practice is to move over BTC to a new wallet as a safeguard.
5093  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Buying from Bitmain and sent BTC to the BCC/BCH address on: October 19, 2017, 07:24:44 PM
The person who owns the BCH address also owns the BTC equivalent. They are the same and you can import private keys from BTC to BCH and vice versa. So, all the seller has to do is import their BCH private key into a BTC wallet and send you the funds back.

Can anyone confirm these funds will never go to a newly created wallet/Receive address for me please?
The funds are already there as the transaction has confirmed.

Will the BTC funds be in the BCC/BCH wallet receive address of the company I sent them to, just not visible because of wrong currency?

Any help much appreciated, Reward will be paid too for help leading to the return of my hard earned funds. It's about £10,500 GBP at time of sending so talking at least a £1000 for it's safe return, if you want more make me an offer to consider.
The only one who can return the funds is the owner of the private key to 12PYBy89CUJkoJyar48E2Shys7GBMY4CxJ , which is your seller. There is no way for someone to earn that recovery reward other than explaining and suggesting next course of action.

We ran a signature campaign in the past. As you can see, we have always paid on time:

5095  Other / Meta / Re: [Poll] What do you think of the forum's usage of reCaptcha? on: October 19, 2017, 06:06:44 PM
It is fine other than:
1) The necessary use of JavaScript at the login page.
2) For people who log in and out frequently. This is not an issue for individuals such as myself, who are pretty much always logged in.
3) May be annoying to log in on the phone.

As long as it combats some forms of attacks, it is fine as is.

Am I late to the party?

I checked your account here, you really like to fuck up peoples account, you gave more than a 100 negative reports. You obviously like to play righteous God in here and stick your nose lot further than you should.
Like I said, you'll get yours, universe will take care of you sooner or later and when it does I sure hope you'll think of me!
Universe will take care of us for leaving ratings to shady individuals and criminals? Well then, I better get a few dozen space lambos.

Is it the easy way 1 enough? Can't someone made that digital signature?
I'd recommend at least doing easy way 2. However, even doing easy way 1 is better than what most people do which is nothing.
5098  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Gold and Segwit2x upcoming forks on: October 19, 2017, 06:20:12 AM
The problem is that in order to profit from the futures market, you need to hold funds on the exchange through the fork. You can sell the BT2 for BTC, but you'll take an equivalent loss if you sell the BT1 for BTC without waiting a month. I think the market is probably fairly accurate given the current market information, but it isn't worth the exchange risk to trade it. Hence the low volume.
That is not a problem of any kind as plenty of people are stupid enough to keep coins on exchanges, which is almost the same as keeping cash in the bank. In other words, they're not your coins but IOUs. As seen with the last Bcash fork, plenty of people had money there (although this made it harder to dump for them since it took time for the exchanges to credit). Now it may be the opposite. However, the exchange will put itself at risk by accepting Segwit2x deposits and withdrawals.

still no word from Trezor if they're going to be offering the Bitcoin Gold to Bitcoin holders.
They do not need to. You have the seed.
5099  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Core 0.15.0.1 Released on: October 18, 2017, 09:41:27 PM
Question/concern..

Not sure of all the "sauce" that goes into generating the public/private keys for bitcoin, but in any of it, is there any RSA Public key being used? If so seems there is a hack out now that's able to factor large prime numbers..

Just google "KRACK and ROCA" its so bad that even WPA2 clients are vulnerable..

Icon
No. ECDSA is not affected by that issue.
