5081  Other / Meta / Re: REST IN PEACE PARAIPAN on: April 24, 2014, 10:46:59 PM
Sad news to hear anybody pass away.   Sad

I'm guessing he was very influential member of our Bitcoin community, and just a decent, good person that life cut too short.

R.I.P. Paraipan.
5082  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Coinbrief.net - a New Digital Currency News Site, Mining Calculators, And More on: April 24, 2014, 10:43:12 PM
Hey, where's the Bitcoin Calculator?!   Huh

All I see is Dogecoin, Namecoin, Potcoin, Reddcoin, and Vertcoin.
5083  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Invest in CoinTerra ASIC 2 TH/s TerraMiner IV Bitcoin Miner on: April 24, 2014, 10:37:50 PM
Hm so alltogether better to not take the deal? He will give me money, but he say he can give me this same, bcs its more expensive then what he owe me.

Here's what you do.  You take the Cointerra, mine for 2 weeks with the free electricity, so that's roughly $50/day or $700, sell it on eBay for $3000, BOOM Profit!!!
5084  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Black Arrow 28nm 100Ghash Bitcoin ASIC from $1.99/GH/s, miners from $2.97/GH/s on: April 24, 2014, 10:26:07 PM
Has anyone done a bitcoin refund from minersource? Following the chain it seems like it was traded for fiat so i really don't want to hear the excuse that they will only give me half back what i paid.

I did a BTC refund at Minersource for an X-1. They paid me back in full BTC minus a reasonable transaction fee.

I wish I got my $ back, buying a pair of X1's was going to be my first entry into bitcoin mining. As a newcomer this is all very disappointing.  Embarrassed

We all played and lost the preorder game.  If you still want to mine and not wait until the end of May, you can get some in stock Antminer S1's for 0.63 BTC each.

our system is showing that surfer43 has been changing the signature back and forward. From us to pd and back.
sorry dude, you broke the terms and conditions.

Goddamn. Your system is awesome! Catching them cheaters and fucking them in the ass! That is sweet.

oh we have a list!!  more names and shames coming soon.

Wow, that's great!  Reckoning day for sig jumpers is a comin'

I like how you hung that dude out to dry for the whole board to see.  Not like another "dicey" sig campaign yet to be named.   Tongue

RGC, this won't delay payment for 3+ days like those other suckers right?   Roll Eyes
I get it you don't like other campaigns (I think you're referring to PrimeDice mostly) but is it really necessary to call them suckers?
Edit: And no, I am in no way associated with them.

Don't worry rhino, you should be able to join RGC after a couple weeks and get paid to post.   Cheesy

5087  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Gridseed questions on: April 24, 2014, 01:57:13 AM
People only use Gridseeds for Scrypt mining mostly due to their low power consumption
.
The new Gridseed Blade at 5 MH/s only mines Scrypt.

Some sites that ship Gridseeds internationally at decent rates:

5088  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: what do miners know what speculators don't on: April 24, 2014, 01:42:14 AM
Miners realize that mining will be 100% centralized by the end of 2015 which in turn will have a huge impact on the bit coin economy.

Can I have that crystal ball you have, because mine isn't working.   Tongue

Seriously, I need to plan a year ahead accordingly.
5089  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Andreas live on coinsiderthis.com on: April 23, 2014, 10:54:42 PM
Thanks for sharing this.  Andreas always composed and representing Bitcoin in the best way.

He even said he has to cut the interview short, because he's having lunch with Dorian and doesn't want to be late.  What a guy!   Grin
5090  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Dorian Nakamoto’s message to the bitcoin community on: April 23, 2014, 10:31:02 PM
I wonder if Newsweek still sticks to their position, that Dorian is the "Satoshi".  Damn you Leah!!   Angry

Well, anything to gain readers/viewers/clicks for their relaunch I guess.
5091  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: how many of you guys buy miners directly from China? on: April 23, 2014, 10:24:35 PM
Yup, another vote for China.  US manufacturers suck balls unfortunately.

Bitmain, Avalon, Lightning, Bit-tech, Dragon, JT Miner, Qiangminer, etc etc

All these guys actually ship miners from stock, no pre-order nonsense.

Out of the lot, Bitmain's the best, with the most popular miner in the world the S1.  Only exception with Bitmain is their initial S2 Batch 1 and 2 rollout, which hasn't been the best.
5092  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: POLL: What to name UK Bitcoin exchange - ReOpened on: April 23, 2014, 10:02:15 PM
Poll reopened at request of business partner

What happened?  He doesn't like mimex?  What would he rather have win: coinserve or bitvega?

Those are good too.
5093  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Time to upgrade on: April 23, 2014, 08:56:43 PM
Uh, time to upgrade what?

Are you trying to say this is your mining operation?  Because I sure don't believe you.

Why don't you try convincing us?   Cool
5094  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: nTek Computers | World's Most Powerful Bitcoin Miner - 2.4Th/s (to 3.2Th/s) on: April 23, 2014, 08:10:39 PM
I also wanted to add a link to our blog so everyone can see the actual hardware we have been designing, building, and testing and to prove that the nTek 1.2Th/s miner is close to completion:

http://ntekcomputers.com/blogs/news

Thank you for the comments on our rendering abilities. We did NOT hire any outside consultants to make the 3D renderings and the animation. Several of our team members are experts in 3D design technology so we thought we would put those skills to the test to show how the innovative nTek cooling system works and why it is so unique.

We also put a note on the animation stating that it is digitally rendered as a disclaimer. Sorry for the confusion, we should have made a note on the original forum post. Our design team appreciates your comments though! ;-)

Pricing still not competitive enough bud.  If your company can't get even in the same ballpark as this group buy:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=575499.0;topicseen

No one is going to touch your products at retail price.  Not. A. Damn. Soul.

If you want to go even lower, you can get 1 TH/s for $2350 including shipping here:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=409701.0

They even use the same A1 chips Ntek uses!   Tongue
5095  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: AntMiner S2 1TH/s Miner (1w/GH/s) on: April 23, 2014, 08:01:25 PM
Bitmain - we have had a great relationship for the past few months.  Sadly, it looks like it's ending.
You are no longer competitive given the S2's fragility and high price.  There are better options that are built more solidly and don't cost as much.
But I'll keep watching.  Hopefully you come to market with a product as great as the S1's were for their time.

+1
+1000

You are going to loose a lot of customers if you keep this up.

+100 BTC...just kidding...second this though...

SP10 is $3000 + shipping...for 1.4T...
A1 Clones...Dragon...and siblings...1TH... are @2300 + shipping...

Far away from $3,199...IMHO...

Where do you see an SP10 that ships this month for $3000?

I think he means the June SP10 for $3495:

Exactly, there's something wrong with their pricing model.  If they're basing it on their competitors, they're not even in the ball park.

If they're basing on they're past success, you can see many Batch 1 and 2 buyers having some buyer's remorse, and some balking at the Batch 3 "price slash".

In reality if the S1 is 200 GH/s @$400 or .831 BTC, the S2 should be roughly $2000 or 4.155 BTC.  I know I know, lower electrical output usage blah blah....It's the same damn chips as the S1 undervolted and underclocked!

Looking back, it really is crazy that Batch 1 and 2 sold out like gangbusters at that pricepoint $3599.  But hey they've dropped the price for Batch 3 to $3199 and $100 coupon for repeat customers.  Success!

ANyone looking for Minersource they are posting on the spoondolies tech thread lol

It seems that Bobsag3 is going to Israel to meet the staff at spoondolies ! Very nice ...

I don't blame him, at least he gets to see and touch real mining equipment with his eyes and hands.

Not the floating 3d renders and heatsink prototypes us dumbasses are used to by BA!   Cheesy
5098  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Can i mine on: April 23, 2014, 06:14:24 PM
Can you?  Sure!

Should you?  NOOOOOOOOOOO!

Not at the current difficulty and BTC Price.  Wouldn't make sense for you.

Okay.....is this an announcement thread, are you selling something, or just saying hello.

Not sure what's going on.
5100  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Announcement: Bitmain launches AntMiner solution, 0.68 J/GH on chip on: April 23, 2014, 03:09:40 PM
ok, was doing some math.  From a short-term (6 months), doesn't it make more sense to just use the S1s?  At the current prices, I can't use that much electricity difference to justify the price difference.  Am I missing something?  Also with the Dragon and others under the $3,000 price tag, it seems a little over priced even for Bitmain.  Just trying to figure out what I might be missing.

You're not missing anything, it's way overpriced.  Especially for the quality (or lack of quality) of the S2's.

The entire S2 launch has been a moneygrab, just to put a 1 TH/s miner out on the market, knowing their customer base would gobble it up due to the success of the S1.

Hope they go back to basics for the S3 offering, whenever that is.
