5081  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: FOMO In Crypto; How to identify It on: June 14, 2020, 10:15:23 AM
The first sign of FOMO is that you will noticed that a certain coin is being promoted by so called crypto influencers. It could be in facebook, twitter or any other social media platforms and it will cause this so called FOMO.  What happens next, is anyone's guess, you can join the FOMO early and then exit when you have profited already. Or worst, you believed in this project and really think that it is the new big thing, unfortunately, it's too late when the dump comes along.
5082  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: JPMorgan: Bitcoin's Market Structure More Resilient Than other traditional asset on: June 14, 2020, 09:59:09 AM

Changing stance of one of the largest bank in the world. What does it signifies?
It signifies that nothing is permanent in this market, you can be a hater or perma-bear, but it doesn't mean you can't make a U-turn when you see you can make profit out of it. I wouldn't say that Jamie Dimon is hater though, he just spin everything around to make more money for the company he work for and of course for their customers.

5083  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: [Scam]: Nitrogen Sports Beta Testers on: June 13, 2020, 01:06:18 PM
So this is the second time in a month that cyber criminals have targeted NitrogenSports for this so called Firefox addons. And it's good that you have caught it before someone created an account and spread this scam in this community. I also did check NitrogenSports and it seems they are all aware of this potential malicious attempts using their name as there are warning banners when you login to their platform already.
Yep, 2x this month, I know that sooner or later they are going to make a run for it. I also have a account on Nitrogen Sports so they are already know that they are a target and they have informed their customers already. But it is best the I gave warning in this community regarding this kind of scams.
5084  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If Bitcoin Is Old Tech But.... on: June 13, 2020, 12:11:26 PM
If Bitcoin is old tech, hard to scale, and runs on a bloated network, why don't we turn our focus to another cryptocurrency which solves these challenges? Is Bitcoin just enjoying the benefits of the first? How long would this be?
How secure are those alternatives though? And what cryptocurrency you think that solves these challenges? Fork coins? Alt coins? So I would say that stability is far the reason why people prefer bitcoin over any other altcoin we have in the market.
5085  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Most trusted projects ruined me !! on: June 13, 2020, 11:09:23 AM
Late 2017 and early 2018 i was holding lots of coins and tokens from the ico's in that some i really trusted with solution and team (not only me most of crypto community trusted).
Trust is very subject, in my opinion. Just because the team and the solution is viable doesn't mean that you have to trust and hold their coins.

Now this coins or token became nothing . But some projects i entered  to sell for small margin profit these projects given profit . So holding token or coin for long term is meaningless.
That's really too bad, and this just reflect the good and the bad image of cryptocurrency. Sometimes you got lucky and win big. But majority of holders of 2017, got rekt, you are not the first and won't be the last case to regret their decisions.
5086  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: SEC asset freeze "Modern Money Team" on: June 13, 2020, 09:56:41 AM
It will be interesting to see how long this criminals will serve jail time. This is no joke, that's a lot of money "stolen" to begin with. They have violated "Section 10(b) and Rule 10b-5 thereunder of the Securities Exchange Act of 1934 and Section 17(a) of the Securities Act of 1933". I'm not a lawyer but it seems that this is a Federal law, so probably more than 10 - 20 years?
We all know how justice system works in the US, and that the law they violated seems very hard to win so probably the judge will handed them jail time just like the rest of criminals who violated the SEC Act of 1934, swift and hard 25 years max.

5088  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Manny Pacquiao Might Fight Golovkin on: June 12, 2020, 11:01:59 AM
Not being bias, but I think Pacquiao is one of the strongest boxer I have ever known. Eventhough he gained all the fame he is still humble.

In the ring, his punches are heavy, fast and though he is getting old, he may be quite move as fast as his mid30s, he makes sure that his punches count. I have seen it all in his fights.
Lol, how can you say that you are not bias when you see Pacquiao as one of the strongest boxer?
 Grin

Regarding golovkin, i think he is still on his rising journey. His biggest fight in my opinion is with canelo.
Heavy punches and speed are remarkable.

I think pacquiao and golovkin fight will be exciting. Hope Manny can keep up with the speed. I think golovkin has that advantage, when it comes to punches, i will go with pacman.
Golovkin is not on his rising journey, he has a lot of wear and tear already and he is almost at the twilight of his career.

How Do We Avoid Pump and Dump Coins?
~
Or, just stick with bitcoin and don't buy any altcoins? That'll avoid all of them.
As much as we don't like altcoins, they are part of the whole cryptocurrency market.

[..]
I just use their definition as basis only, much simplier to understand.

[..]

Thanks for the info, will add it up.

[..]

I think our first experience with this kind of fraudulent people are thru Telegram and they are really good at making us very comfortable and believed on everything they say that's why we fell for it.

Don't be disappointed, you are not the first one and won't be the last. That's why we need to remind everyone here.
5090  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Why quality tokens play a key role to crypto exchange? on: June 12, 2020, 08:58:51 AM
Crypto is decentralised and exchanges are in the business of making money. That's why you will find top tier to low tier exchanges today because no one can stop someone to established their own exchanges. The problem is that there are people behind who uses exchanges, specially low tier to scam people. And there are exchanges who fake their volumes and liquidity.

So can we force exchanges just to accept high quality project to be listed on them?

5092  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Sending 130$ , with a transaction fee of million ! on: June 11, 2020, 11:06:51 PM
I think this is a trick to get attention. Because in order to have such a huge fortune (over $ 2 million), every transaction needs to be very careful and carefully checked, so that confusion is not possible. Therefore, I still think this is just a way to draw attention to crypto
Of course, with this kind of mistakes and as blockchain is transparent, sooner or later it will draw some attention. But I doubt that it was done by mistakes, this is very shady and the only reason that this individual did this is to hide something and colluding or conspiring with the miners with his illegal wealth here. Very intelligent move, but sorry everything is being seen in blockchain.
5093  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Manny Pacquiao Might Fight Golovkin on: June 11, 2020, 07:15:16 PM
Obviously I will put my bet on Manny Pacquiao. The fact that they are considering this match means Manny can win against Gennady "Triple G" Golovkin. Though can Manny really do the weight change? If this will be the fight, I will really beat on MP. Another boxer against him with a height advantage, Manny can knock him down or beat him up.

Uhmm, I think you are just a very avid fan of the Pacman that you bet on him without first examining the opponent and this time you will lost your bet but fortunately for you mate, this fight is not gonna happen. In the first place, team Pacman is not considering this fight, it's only Roach who spread this rumor and he ain't the trainer of Manny anymore, he will be in Manny's corner as a consultant AFAIK.

Manny have the luxury of cherry picking his next opponent and it would be between the two Garcia's (Danny and Mikey) if he can't get that rematch with Floyd Mayweather.

Reading your post, yeah I guess you could say I am an avid fan of him. Been betting to him since he's putting a show on every flashy ring he went up to, either Las Vegas or in other places. Though it is not that I am underestimating his enemy. Triple G is a great boxer, I just remembered how people debate like this when Manny fought against Margarito which is also a great boxer with a great advantage in height against Manny. I just thought that it would be the same.
You can't compare Margarito and Triple, the only similarities is that they are both tall and natural bigger guy than Manny Pacquaio. And Margarito was very slow and just move forward because he has a great chin. Manny did destroy him and it was a different version of Manny back then. Today, Pacquaio have lost his step and seems to be gassing out in later round like what we have seen against Thurman.
5094  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: We are in a Bitcoin Rally, not an Altcoin Rally on: June 11, 2020, 06:34:22 PM
I wouldn't say that we are in a rally, but bitcoin has already bounce back and recovered from the last lower lows for this year and its been touted as the best speculative asset for this year so far. For altcoin markets to rally? Well they have to wait for bitcoin to go on a bull run to have a trickle effect. So far altcoin investors are shifting their investment to bitcoin, so I'm not seeing any altcoin rally, perhaps just few occasional pumps here and there.
5095  Other / Beginners & Help / What is Pump and Dump Scheme? on: June 11, 2020, 11:50:54 AM
We always heard the term "Pump and Dump", so I created a beginners guide on it.

What is Pump and Dump Scheme?

Investopedia defines it as "scheme that attempts to boost the price of a stock (or in this case cryptocurrency) through recommendations based on false, misleading or greatly exaggerated statements."

How Does it Works?

Typically a person or group of persons will:

1. Buy a lot of shitcoins in advance at a very low price

2. Then they shill that shitcoin all over, from this community to other social media sites, including emails, paid press release with catchy phrase like "the next bitcoin", or the next "100x-1000x coins"

3. Usually you will find this groups in Telegram promoting "trading signals"

4. Crypto investors bought the hype, the price of that shitcoins gradually increases and skyrocket.

5. And when the trading volume is at the peak, the group will start to call for a sell to their members

6. However, they have sold already and what's left is just a few money shared by low level members

How Do We Spot a Pump and Dump Scheme?

1. Shitcoin that you haven't heard before suddenly being promoted in a lot of social media platforms like Facebook and Twitter

2. The people behind the coin has a history of shady projects

3. The price of the shitcoin grows tremendously in matter of days

How Do We Avoid Pump and Dump Coins?

1. Educate yourself. We really can't stress that enough. If you join crypto-sphere, learn and equip yourself with knowledge

2. Don't get excited and don't FOMO.

3. Always Do Your Own Research (DYOR)

4. Don't pay or join any pumping groups

5096  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Manny Pacquiao Might Fight Golovkin on: June 10, 2020, 10:15:34 AM
Golovkin is the most feared fighter in the Welterweight division and a natural Welterweight and still reigning despite facing a pretty good boxer Canelo. Manny maybe his first true test, i only wish that they've faced sooner when they we're still in there prime.
Please get your facts straight before posting, GGG never campaign in the welterweight division in this entire career. He was a natural Middleweight, 160 lbs, so I don't know if you really know your boxing or what.
5097  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: CoCa Cola now Accept bitcoin on Australia and New Zealand. on: June 10, 2020, 08:55:31 AM
No, bitcoin holders are not that stupid to spend their precious BTC just to buy Coke in a vending
We don't know, maybe bitcoin holders will try just for the experience, but we don't know if they are wiling to download the wallet though, it's a different story. This is just like using bitcoin atm, the fees are high but there are still bitcoin enthusiast who still uses it.

I wouldn't say that this is closer to adoption, but definitely, seeing a BTC logo in a Coca-cola vending machine is unusual and might excite no-coiners. So I still consider this a good advertisement more for bitcoin than Coca-cola.
5098  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: President Duterte is Urging all citizens of the Philippines to learn Bitcoin on: June 10, 2020, 07:52:11 AM
@YuginKadoya - You are already Legendary member, but it seems that you can easily fall for this kind of trick.

The Philippine DOF (Department of Finance) already give a warning about it last month.

https://www.dof.gov.ph/dof-warns-public-vs-bogus-cryptocurrency-platform/

DOF warns public vs bogus cryptocurrency platform

Quote
The Department of Finance (DOF) has warned the public about fake news and malicious misinformation alleging that the Philippines is creating “a platform for the citizens of the Philippines to start generating income with cryptocurrency.”

Peddlers of such fake news have alleged in an article that the government has created a platform called “Bitcoin Lifestyle” and that President Duterte “is urging all citizens of Philippines to learn about Bitcoin Lifestyle quickly to get involved.”

“There is no such effort by the government,” Finance assistant secretary Antonio Joselito Lambino II said.

“We categorically deny that there is such a move, and warn the public against potentially harmful financial transactions with those behind the article,” added Lambino, who is DOF spokesman and head of its Strategy, Economics and Results Group (SERG).

The fake news also suggested that “The Government of Philippines asserts that tax revenues (from Bitcoin Lifestyle) will be huge and will benefit all citizens, and most of it will go to the financing of Philippines’s retirement and to counteract the crisis of learning support services.”

“This is false. We urge the public to exercise caution in their investments, and to keep their expectations of returns realistic,” the Lambino said.

Lambino also urged the public to report similarly suspicious investment schemes to the Enforcement and Investor Protection Department of the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), with telephone number 8818-5704.

“We warn unscrupulous individuals and groups attempting to lure the public into unauthorized and deceptive investment schemes that the government is monitoring the public space for such schemes, and will take appropriate legal and regulatory action,” he added.

5099  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC next Movement......... on: June 09, 2020, 08:21:19 PM
Well, the biggest trouble is no matter which direction you look at the charts, no matter how well you know your indicators, no matter how well you can read the future, the price of bitcoin all depends on the people with money, either bitcoin or fiat, they are the ones who decide it. There is no indicator of me deciding to sell, nor for me to buy, which means markets could never predict whenever I will want to buy or sell.
Supply and demand.

Obviously that is why bitcoin price is so volatile, it does move up and down with insane spreads since it could never be predicted and people are following whatever bandwagon we have at that moment. Hopefully we will go up, I have a big saved aside and I have been wanting to cash out and buy some stuff for a while but I will wait until at least $12k.
Bitcoin is a good asset, but people tend to forgot how unstable it is. We all do love to see TA in this community, but as the saying goes, there's no guarantee as where the price will go, so for me there are only two likely scenarios: either go up or go down. TA will just validated the facts, let's see if it can get to $12k.
5100  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: SCAM IN AN OBVIOUS DIMENSION on: June 09, 2020, 07:20:43 PM
The best practices to avoid being unnecessarily scammed are to:
1. avoid falling for too good to be true investment offers
The best weapon against this fraudsters is not to be greedy. Otherwise, you will easily get trap and fall for this gimmick.

2. avoid dealing over the telegram groups
Haven't done any dealings over telegram, and people should think twice about doing it.

3. avoid those who bump into your telegram pm to offer a trade or business deal.
Again, like Discord, telegram is a haven for criminals and scammers.

4. research any investment platform before you invest into it.
Most important part of investing that people really forget. Research and research about the project or product that you are thinking to pour your money. This is one way street, once you deposit then your money is gone.
