Is the idea just to goto their exchange and send them whatever sats I have and request it back to the wallet on-chain address? I don't understand how that will create inbound/outbound capacity if I do that?  Each LN channel is like a pile of coins, "shared" between (only) 2 parties. At the moment, all coins are on your side, so the other party can't send you anything. If you send some coins first, you can receive some back later (except for 1.2% channel reserve). The other party (the node) will do the same to the next node, creating a chain of channels that all move some of their coins to the other party. Am I supposed to create a channel first? No, it should work if the nodes are connected already. If you go to coinplaza you set up that you send them bitcoins on the lightning network and inreturn they send you bitcoins on the main chain. Connecting to the coinplaza node is a different thing. |

Oh man... I think I've really done it now... I finally got LND working (apparently, you need to have "datadir" specified in bitcoin.conf so LND can find the bitcoin datadir!?!?)... and I got ZAP wallet setup with it as well... Meant to fund it with 100,000 sats... accidentally sent 1,000,000  You can refund yourself the 900000 sats via CoinPlaza.IT by sending them funds via LN and receiving them back via the chain. You will have 900,000 inbound and 100,000 outbound capacity without having to buy it from any third party nodes. I've found 0.0025 transfers works ok (I have a channel open to them) but higher amounts (on just about any channel) don't always go through) |

I have a Zap LN wallet running 24/7 on my PC. There are updates/activities however, I've checked the nodes that I have opened channels to and my wallet doesn't show up as being connected, hence no one can connect to me.
The same with my Eclair wallets running on my mobile phone and tablet. (which aren't on 24/7)
Any suggestions?
I'm also looking for a PC LN wallet that will accept twelve words not twenty-four.

Do you trust that exchange? Interface is poor for a crypto exchange. Anyway, is this platform already working like buying tickets for games? Is there other link that you can check aside from their website? Well... people thought that Cryptsy, Mt Gox and Cryptopia were all safe. My suggestion is to leave only the coins you can afford to loose, and only then have enough for the actual trades you want done. |
