5101  Economy / Economics / Re: Which is better, staking or investing? on: October 19, 2020, 08:51:52 AM
I think the investment is a lot better than stacking. I personally do this. I have learned a lot about business and where to invest. So I think the investment is better and long term thing.

I agree with you, especially for beginners I would recommend investing themself. With staking you just rely on someone else while with investing you have to do all the research yourself. It's much more work but you are learning so much more than when just staking. Risk is involved in both types and you have to pay a fee for staking. The most I learned about crypto currencies was when I started investing with my own money.
5102  Other / Politics & Society / Re: What is the vaccine for? on: October 19, 2020, 08:46:47 AM
Apparently there is no permanent immunity from Covid-19, even if you had the corona virus once you can get infected again. This makes a big problem for vaccines because it will be likely that we also can't get a permanent immunity from the vaccine and would need to get vaccine on a regular basis. This sounds pretty much like the flu we are facing every year, where high risk patients and elderly people have to get a vaccine every year.
5103  Other / Off-topic / Re: What are some of your favorite PC games? on: October 19, 2020, 08:37:24 AM
Anyone here played Hearts of Iron 4? It's an awesome strategy game for PC. The graphics are not that great but there are so many possibilities. I watched a few youtube videos and started to play it myself lately. Very cool game and tons of positive reviews on steam.
5104  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Question: Is there any websites where I can gamble crypto under 18? on: October 19, 2020, 08:34:35 AM

Edit1: Thanks for everyone replying, I have decided to not online gamble as now I know it is illegal, so to people who was wondering my age, 15.

I am glad to read that our many replies actually helped to change your mind. 15 is not so bad, in a few years you can gamble and can actually see a casino from the inside. I still remember going the first time to casino in a suit, losing a bunch of money but still an awesome experience for a night out. Great food and wine. But overall you are not missing out on much. Also it's better to just save your crypto coins for now until your are 18.
5105  Other / Off-topic / Re: What kind of PC chair do you use? on: October 19, 2020, 08:09:42 AM
At the moment I am back to using a cheap IKEA chair. After moving into my new apartment I couldn't take all my stuff with my. So I had to rebuy some furniture and to save money I went for one of the cheapest options. My plan is for next year to buy a proper gaming chair again.
5106  Economy / Economics / Re: Government slowly open the economy, will it make the pandemic worst? on: October 19, 2020, 07:58:37 AM

The question is that are we really going to improve the economy?

Or make covid19 transmission worst of their decision?

In my opinion opening the economy even further right now will just increase the corona cases very fast. The problem we are facing right now is the second wave of the pandemic. In Europe for example every country is reporting rising corona cases and we can't really open the economy anymore. On the otherside we also can't have another lockdown this year. All the countries here are experiencing negative growth in GDP. We just can't afford another closing down of the economy. It's very hard to balance off human lifes vs the economy, but we need to find a mix.
5107  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How and where invest 500€ on: October 19, 2020, 07:48:06 AM
Hello,

I would like to start investment around 500€ into crypto but I need some advice cause i'am totally novice.

Do you have some advice ?
Some ressources to get information ?

Thanks

I would recommend to not blindly trust other people here on the forum. Better to do at least a little bit of your own research, it is always hard to do own research as a beginner, but that is also the way you learn a lot here.

Personally, I would recommend you to split your money up across multiple coins. As a good start I would put 50% in Bitcoins, and spread out the other 50% across alt coins such as ETH and LTC. These are all established coins where the risk of losing your money is fairly small. You can just buy and hold them.
5108  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do you trust newbies that starts projects? on: October 19, 2020, 07:37:23 AM
Yes, if they have the experience of managing a project very well they are good to carry on. Some of the project is not all about ranking that will make you do well because there are still project you will see you think it is newbie that run such project not knowing is some of the higher rank.
I think if they have the experience to manage the project very well they are good to carry out the position.

I agree with you, it's not a problem for newcomers to this forum to have their own project, but they need to work with experienced members on this forum. If there is no trustworthy member involved from this forum, I think the prospects are not that great and a lot of people will skip out on this forum. Personally, I give a lot of value on this forum. A project manager with many years of track record on this forum can make or break a new project.

BBC News - Covid reinfection: Man gets Covid twice and second hit 'more severe'
https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/health-54512034

This is exactly what was I afraid of. Unfortunately we still don't know these things through a lot of cases tested by scientists. But it seems that the immunity of corona is fading away  after a few months. Which makes a possible vaccine even harder to find. In the worst case we would need to get a Covid-19 vaccine every year (or maybe even twice a year) to refresh our immunity.

When looking at Europe at the moment, it seems that second wave is much more severe than the first. The first corona wave had a very sudden rise and dropped off quickly too. But now with the second wave it seems like it's much more gradient and spread out. I am afraid how the winter is going to be this year.
5111  Other / Off-topic / Re: simple - say NO to sugar on: October 19, 2020, 07:05:30 AM
It is simple - stop eating ANY industrial sugar Smiley eat ONLY natural sweet products

I can second that. Try avoiding industrial made sweets, maybe switch to fruits if you still grave for sugar. Or just skip it at once.
5112  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Card Counting in Blackjack on: October 18, 2020, 08:58:31 AM
If you are getting banned (from either an online or a real life casino) for counting cards while playing blackjack, either you should call your lawyer press charges, or blackjack needs to get removed as a game because it seems to me it has a serious bug.

I mean, how the fck one can tell you that you counted cards?

When he does,

How can you be sure that he is not saying that to block your legitimate win?

If counting the cards breaks blackjack, then blackjack shouldn't exist because it is flawed design.

Good luck with pressing charges against a casino for removing you from their casino. It's a private proverty, their place, they make up the rules. You have no chance against it. When playing their games you agree to their rules. I don't see any chances of winning against a big casino. Also they have plenty of lawyers ready for such issues, while you will have to hire one yourself and pay for it. Not sure if that is such good idea afterall.

Black Jack is a profitable game for casino, I don't think they wan't to remove it. And with more advanced shuffling systems around it's getting harder for us to exploit the system. Afterall card counting is helping us to shift the odds in our favor. We shouldn't pressure casinos into removing the game.
5113  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Poker Worthwhile freerolls and low stakes high prize and fun games on: October 17, 2020, 08:45:23 AM

Do you play on ACR instead?

i do, but haven't in several months. i got screwed over by a couple server failures there and withdrew my bankroll to SwC out of frustration a while back. but i do miss ACR's guaranteed tourneys. SwC is a joke by comparison. i'm much better in large fields too.

Have you guys tried out GGPoker? There software is pretty cool.

Today I won a satellite to 22$ bounty builder for $2.20

And right now this one (24th spot)

Wow nice one Globbo. You really have a good gameplay and patience if you keep finishing so high in these tournaments.

I think I need to work out a rough schedule and try to set it regularly. Then people can roughly know if I'm about.

That would be cool, especially now with the winter and the bad weather coming I think I will be playing more poker and watch Twitch.

Good luck for this weekend.
5114  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What do think about skill games? on: October 16, 2020, 10:18:07 PM
I was running so good in black jack in the last few months. I kept always breaking even or finish with a nice profit. But now after 2 weeks of gambling a bit more, I am down over $180, which is really frustrating. I kept trusting my strategy and believed in the skill aspect of the game. After running hot for so long I kept forgetting about the luck factor more and more. The rest of my bankroll is for my poker games so now I need to take a break from black jack until November. The last weeks just made me realise that luck is still a big part of gambling.
5115  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sports betting: how much knowledge is too much on: October 16, 2020, 12:59:37 PM
One concept which is very important in trading is probably also very important for betting in sports fames, it's called "noise". When there is a particular information published in the newspaper and everyone reads it, some people might think its very useful information. But because everyone knows it the information is already reflected in the prices and odds. So it might be the case when we know a lot we that we think all of it is news, when in fact its not that useful. In this regard its definitely possible we know too much. Too much noise might cloud our decision making. Sometimes it's just better to take a step back and reevaluate what we do know instead of trying to find more and more information.
5116  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you read the TOS of a gambling site? Honest answer please. on: October 16, 2020, 12:40:50 PM
I want to make a survey from gamblers in the forum if they are really reading the TOS of the gambling sites they are playing with.

Therefore, I request you to vote and give an explanation on why you voted yes or no?

To be fully honest, I don't read the TOS on most casino websites. Only in around 15 - 20% of the cases I actually look at the TOS. In the other cases I rely on reviews from other people. Usually I play on casinow who have been around for some time and have a positive track record. My first check is always this forum if anyone had some issues before and raises some red flags.
5117  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: New Normal Game Setup - a success or a failure? on: October 16, 2020, 08:27:13 AM
Entire sports events were getting affected out of the pandemic, but if a league for the year isn't conducted then it'll surely affect the fanbase during the next year's games. Upon this it is a must to adjust to the prevailing pandemic. Almost in every game some players have got affected, but with the rest the leagues are being played. Hope the entire thing goes normal over the time.

I think how most of the leagues managed this year was alright. It could have been better, but also much worse. I really enjoyed in the first weeks of the lockdown to watch some of the old games on TV. Also they tried to resume the games as fast as possible. Playing games without viewers in the stadium seems like a good trade off in the beginning and now letting at least some fans back in the stadiums is good. If they had cancelled all the leagues this year it would have been horrible.
5118  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin will replace oil and Gold on: October 16, 2020, 08:16:51 AM
Governments all around the World Secretly start using together with banks the bitcoins.
Oil is done so They replace bitcoin instead of oil.

The btc volatility might go like daily 50k-100k price Changes.

Bitcoin will be instutionalized permanently.
The Global market prices Liqutation postion will be fluctuated by Bitcoin price.

I said this before but nobody didnt listen but now its here!!

I don't think bitcoins can replace an actual commodity so easily. In my mind bitcoin is more of a currency than a commodity. Because you cant use bitcoins to fuel your car and plane. Same for gold, as long as we are using gold for jewellery there will be people paying a lot of money for it.  These two commodities have been used by humans for a long time. They can't just disappear.

What is more likely that we will see bitcoins as the main international currency, so all these commodities would be quoted in bitcoins rather than USD.
5119  Other / Off-topic / Re: I drank 1.5 gallons of beer yesterday on: October 16, 2020, 08:08:53 AM
Oh boy, that is a lot of beer. I usually don't drink more than 1-2 beers a night for years. The last time I got really drunk on beer was during university. You must be very dehydrated today. Good job buddy  Grin
5120  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Esports Prediction & Discussion Thread on: October 15, 2020, 07:30:47 PM

I love watching CS matches so CSGO have been the only eSports I usually bet on for me.

Same fore me, CSGO are the most interesting games to watch. I used to play a lot a few years ago but now I just watch and sometimes bet. Dota and LOL is also cool from time to time to watch.

Anyone has a good bet for the Grand Final of IEM New York on Sunday? Should get pretty interesting with Liquid and EG, probably my two favourites.
