5121  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Open source hardware wallets on: January 11, 2021, 05:23:57 AM
for me I prefer open source wallets, this makes me to prefer open source hardware wallets but I am thinking if it is possible there is any hardware wallet that is open source in a way it will not be partially open source and partially close source but completely open source. I know three common hardware wallets now:

Only it seems to me that there are too many open source wallets in one proposal? Smiley

I think you will be interested in this topic. Since it fully describes all the advantages and disadvantages of wallets that interest you. It is enough to search the forum a little.

Newbies who have different interests in the forum also have different ideas about the merit system.
Look a real newbie who is genuinely learning and really interested in cryptocurrencies. He has no idea what merit is. And having received it does not know what to do with it.
But unfortunately, most of the newbies evaluate the forum as a source of income. And they understand better than you and me that they need merits. Here all sorts of entrepreneurship work for them. Someone tries to create heaps of new topics every day, with the most commonplace questions or copying articles from the Internet, trying to attract attention. And someone just begs, doing absolutely nothing.
The main thing that these people miss is learning and communication. In to earn a penny, they lose the most precious thing, this is their time.
5123  Other / Meta / How many times can I change my account password? on: January 10, 2021, 01:34:45 PM
Is there a limit on the number of password change attempts? For example, if a person changes their password every other day, would this be considered a suspicious activity?

I met an interesting profile on the site https://bpip.org/Profile?p=Yatsan
I want to ask, is this some kind of error, or really, there were attempts to change the password at such an interval? Did something happen when you changed your password?
I say right away that this is just an accidental find. Nothing personal.

5125  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do not be too happy on: January 10, 2021, 07:23:14 AM
Everyone always has a choice. Buy bitcoin or not. The maximum number of bitcoins is limited to 21 million. Anyone has the right to redeem as much as he wishes. Anyone who understands and believes in the future of bitcoin will try to invest in it as early as possible. The more the popularity of bitcoin becomes, the more it will be bought by large companies. Everything seems logical.
Now the question. If Bitcoin is not so popular, and it is not bought up by huge companies, how can it become the world's reserve currency?
Anyone who understands the significance of bitcoin is quick to respond to their place in it. So it was and will be.
5126  Other / Meta / Re: Isn't this considered merit begging? on: January 10, 2021, 06:35:24 AM
I've checked his post history and it doesn't seem to me like it is so great that he deserves those merits just for asking. I'd like to know what you think about.

I will not debate if his post was merit begging or not but i don't like the approach of seeing the post history before giving the merits. If anyone has posted something which you like or it is something of value, you should give him merit even though he has been posting garbage in the past.

Perhaps this is correct when the message itself attracts attention and the hand itself moves to give merit. Let's look from the other side, a man stands with a sign on his neck for help, his car is behind him, and there is a stolen diplomat with dollars in it. Will you help him? Surely doubt it. Go to the forum with this mindset. Who needs merits? Especially if he's a beginner? Anyone who is in a hurry to start participating in subscriptions. Merits are not important to a person who came for knowledge. They come to him. And then immediately from the first messages, interest in the merits. Moreover, he is in a hurry, knowing the conditions for increasing the rank.

also i think by looking to the rank up system that soon you will be with member rank too because to be a member you should get at least 60 posts and 10 merits , so keep it up and i hope soon i will join you as well .
5127  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Lost in my life on: January 09, 2021, 11:49:56 AM
Before writing a reply, I have read your message history. Are you a driver who works in an office? I think I understood you correctly? Just a tip: if you came to a forum where people who are ready to help communicate with you, respond in kind.
No need to complain. Everyone, believe me, has problems. If everyone complains, the forum will need to be renamed "tears of losers"
On the contrary, I can say that you are on the right track.
Start investing in bitcoin. In cryptocurrency, you can take $5 and buy the relevant amount of cryptocurrency with it. Do this on an ongoing basis. Bitcoin has a very low entry threshold. And thus, one day you will receive a larger amount than you invested. If you came to the forum, then read, ask. And in no case try to pass off someone else's information like yours. If you decide to create a topic about something, then work on it, do not copy or change the text, and provide a link to the source.

5128  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Operation ElectroRAT Attacker Creates Fake Companies to Drain Your Crypto Wallet on: January 09, 2021, 11:03:43 AM

Just always being careful and do not check or click any link thay could be a malware or will lead you to phishing site. Once you visited a fake site it will be remembered and then the next time you visit into the site which you are lookong for then you will be redirected to the fake site because you have already visited it and your device do remeber the site. Being careful is one big thing that could save your funds especially bitcoins where most hackers and phishers wanted to obtain.

It's good when there are people who warn inexperienced newbies with advice not to click on malicious links or download all kinds of software. But there is a moment that beginners that, cannot determine what is needed and what is not.
Welsh, everything was painted perfectly. And I also prefer Qubes OS, but sometimes it is possible to use regular sandbox programs. With their help, you can create an isolated space that will be protected from all sorts of malicious programs.

5129  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What do we do with finance? (Taxation and Taxes on Bitcoin) on: January 09, 2021, 08:57:29 AM
It all depends on the country in which you live. For example, a law on digital financial assets came into force in Russia. Now it is allowed to own cryptocurrency, but it cannot be used as a means of payment. Now you need to file your digital currency ownership tax return. It is also assumed that citizens are required to report to the tax authorities if their transactions exceed the amount determined by the government.
True, it is not completely clear how they will monitor those who do not pay taxes.
5130  Economy / Reputation / Re: Known Alts of any-one - A User Generated List Mk III (2021 Q1) on: January 09, 2021, 07:54:26 AM
As I said, there are a lot of purchased accounts in the Philippine section. It's only a matter of time so that sooner or later they show themselves.
Buying accounts aren't prohibited but we must make sure that they will never abuse this, if these accounts were to be found on the same Campaign then tagged them.

Please remind me of at least one case when it was revealed that the account was purchased, and it was not marked with negative trust?
Therefore, yes, buying is not prohibited. But it is not welcome, and as a rule, a tag is always put on such accounts.
Participation or non-participation of purchased accounts in one subscription company is another story. Rather, it is closer to the multi-account rule.
5131  Economy / Reputation / Re: Known Alts of any-one - A User Generated List Mk III (2021 Q1) on: January 08, 2021, 01:35:27 PM

Someone can recherche more user "Kupid002" and user "arwin100" are also liar, cheater or sold account of same Account Farmer.

I agree with you. These accounts are also too suspicious. Generally in the Philippines department, there are a lot of accounts that have been purchased.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1360322.msg14339282#msg14339282

I was initially surprised by the statement that the account could be broken twice.

i recieve an email that Darwin02 is once again hacked by that time i manage to lock the account .

I didn't post anything to recover it again its very painful to be hacked many times so i gave up on that  account and locked the account instead, so no one can use it and I don't have time yet to be back here.

The question involuntarily arises, what is wrong with the owner? What passwords does he come up with?
But after reading this message, everything falls into place.

Magkano kaya presyo nun?

Is the account still available?

As I said, there are a lot of purchased accounts in the Philippine section. It's only a matter of time so that sooner or later they show themselves.
5132  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Another sad story, 2.6 BTC lost. on: January 08, 2021, 12:36:36 PM
I am not an expert on such information, but are there no programs that allow data recovery from a formatted disk? Surely some specialists are ready to take on such work for some kind of remuneration.
In any case, as they say, the "law of meanness" worked
The "cherry on the cake" was the moment of entering the password, which was not there. I think that many of us have encountered similar situations. Trusting a password manager, or an encrypted flash drive that is almost impossible to recover, especially if some program like TrueCrypt is involved in encryption, is always somewhat dangerous.
Unfortunately, the Christmas present turned out to be too expensive, and all that remains is to express our sympathy to the victim.
5133  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: need some help getting into bitcoin on: January 08, 2021, 11:50:39 AM
Today, news about the growth of bitcoins will not only be joyful for all holders, but it can also negatively affect those who hear about big profits and become nervous, trying to have time to invest their savings in bitcoin.
I see that the OP is one of those people. And you did well to come to the forum to consult with more experienced participants. News in my country often writes that some elderly old woman, who decided to increase her pension, gave all her savings to people who promised to help her and eventually disappeared, leaving her without money.
I understand everything, the excitement and bustle of people at such times have always been and will be. But OP, take the time to calm down and learn as much as possible about how to get it right. Take some time to read the forum. There is also a lot of information on the official bitcoin.org website. Pay attention to the first tip that is given there.

You will always have time to lose the accumulated value, it is much more difficult to restore everything later.
5134  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is this the right time to reinvest into Bitcoin? on: January 08, 2021, 11:23:44 AM
The time for investing, I think, is long overdue. It is different to/from everyone. And everyone has different possibilities. But if you look at the history of the development of bitcoin, then the one that invested in it and did not sell it always wins. It doesn't matter when the entry point was. Of course, much today is afraid to start, thinking that after such a run, Bitcoin can collapse, as it did before. But start thinking positively. Too many events have happened to such a beautiful growth of Bitcoin. Perhaps you shouldn't wait, but it's time to start acting for those who still doubt. But draw your own conclusions. Even with this growth, more bitcoin is being bought than it is being sold. Ask yourself the question, how long will you wait while others buy everything?
5135  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Discussion on: January 08, 2021, 10:29:36 AM
There are people who, by their very nature, love to take risks. Bitcoin is for people like that. If your friend is an adventurer who loves new trends, loves freedom, and does not count his funds from paycheck to paycheck, he will like Bitcoin. You can assess his abilities.
If we talk about investments, then I can say that any investment can always be risky. Whether you invest fiat money or cryptocurrency. I lost much more on investments, which seemed to guarantee high-interest rates, but over time the projects simply disappeared.
But, after going through my own mistakes, I believe more in bitcoin than in the money that I have entrusted to the bank.
5136  Economy / Speculation / Re: When The Inevitable Happens With The Dump - What Will Bitcoin Be Worth? on: January 08, 2021, 08:48:59 AM
In a recent interview with Bloomberg Bitpay commercial director Sonny Singh suggested that if investors start selling their bitcoins earlier than planned, the bitcoin rate could fall to $20,000. And also, because institutional investors purchased bitcoin at the level of $20,000, they will not let it fall below.
But in fact, bitcoin is so unpredictable that only he can know his future.

5138  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin gradually clinching to $40k on: January 07, 2021, 11:02:00 AM
Today's bitcoin price is being pushed by institutional investors who are looking to buy more and more bitcoins, thus putting pressure on the market and driving up the price. Analysts at Glassnode provided a report that only 22% of free bitcoins remained. Since institutional investors have bought most of the available bitcoin supply. Also, 78% of Bitcoin is illiquid.
https://twitter.com/glassnode/status/1344020551942238212

And thus, this suggests that the rally will continue, and bitcoin will be able to reach a price not only 40 thousand. But also a much higher price.
5139  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Who the hell is doing this? on: January 07, 2021, 09:53:29 AM
While the lazy waits and is indignant, the one who loves to act buys. Even with the growth of bitcoin, there are and will be buyers today. The new ATH has already exceeded $37,600. And I don’t think that this price will scare anyone away from the purchase. The supply of bitcoin is limited and thus, interest in it will soon lead to the fact that it will become a key element in the financial system. Therefore, it is no surprise that bitcoin is being bought more and more by leading companies as an insurance asset.
5140  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Bounty on: January 07, 2021, 09:30:34 AM
If you have a lot of free time, then bounty will be useful for you to independently realize whether you need to do this or not.
If you value your time, then heed the advice of those who have not achieved success in such projects and today will never want to participate in them.
You are a beginner. Join the conversation on the forum. Read, study, ask everything that interests you. This way you can, after a while, independently understand what you need from this forum. You will have questions that are much more interesting than participation in bounty programs. You will rise in rank.
In the future, as a reward for your zeal for knowledge, subscription companies will be available where payment is made in bitcoin.
Participation in a bounty sometimes does not bring people practically anything, and in the future it causes people to be disappointed.
Try to learn from other people's mistakes.
