Here's a very small, very obvious problem:
What do you think of when you hear the words crypto-currency ?
Crypt as in tomb/grave, cryptic as in complex/overcomplicated, encrypt as in encode/hide something....see where I'm going here?
The very phrase that we use to describe our alternative currency movement is full of bad associations for Joe Public.
I strongly suggest that no-one ever uses the word crypto ever again....at least not where Joe Public can hear you.
"internet cash" or "internet currency" is what I use to describe Bitcoin to people. I think digital or virtual currency is acceptable too. Open source, peer to peer money for people that might've taken a computer class. ![Cool](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/cool.gif)

Not a funny segment, but I'll take the media exposure.
Just to have it talked about is a good thing though. Sooner or later, we'll have a prominent speaker or representative on one of these talk shows that'll explain it in a good light.

If this is real Holm, please post a vid once you get the miner for us sceptical folk. Always good to see dreams come true! ![Tongue](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/tongue.gif)

Sorry to hear you have to shut down your old miners, hope they ROI'd and then some for you. ![Cry](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/cry.gif) Takcoin and Mazacoin seem to be decent Alt SHA-256 coins you can get a bunch of, then trade to BTC on Cryptsy.

I would jump on that 8.4 BTC offer in a heartbeat, there's a chinese seller in the Group Buys section selling 1 TH/s miners for roughly 4.4 BTC right now.

Hello Bitmain,
Thanks for offer, you are very good and trust company with on stock miners (i have ANTminer), but:
2.2 BTC will never make ROI on miners with next difficulty - next extimate 2300000000 will make 1.27 BTC/month. So miner 2.2 BTC will never refund in mining :|
It's the best offer in the market for now, but the price is to big for the market reality.
Maybe You are developing something stronger that S1?
Regards.
You sure you wouldn't be making profit? Like after 4 months of mining wouldn't everything be paid off? Explain please. I can't even find the post, it's 3 months back! A long time in bitcoin mining. According to Bitcoinwisdom, he would've ROI'd in late March, so let's say he jumped the gun a bit. ![Cool](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/cool.gif) I think he was expecting to ROI in a month or something, which almost no miner does.

I think everyone needs to calm down, we have 8 WHOLE DAYS before shipping starts. Thats more than enough time for everything to fall into place, I mean sure they don't have a working prototype but who does a week before shipping. I think it's just best for all of us to not question Black Arrow and we should just sit back and watch the clock tick. Until they have failed us by not making a shipping date we should give them the benefit of the doubt, it's not like they wouldn't tell us if they weren't going to make it.
Have you by any chance been living under a rock or on Mars they already failed all of there customers once, so I don't think they really deserve the benefit of the doubt. Pretty sure kingcolex was being sarcastic. As for the working prototype, I think they mentioned "hashboard" in the most recent update so I'm assuming that's the working prototype. May is almost here, so we'll see what BA has in store for it's customers.

3 x Antminer S1's will do about 600 GHs, overclocked and will cost 3 x 0.877 = 2.631 BTC. So your 550 GHs Jupiter should cost about 2.5 BTC, no?
That would work if technology is similar (which it isn't) and 0.877 for 180-200 GHs at 350-405W is the fair price (which it isn't). Do the math: Antminers at 0.877 have a breakeven point at more than four months with free power. Regards. Technically it's 0.855 BTC with Bitmain's price drops. ![Cheesy](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/cheesy.gif) But yes, it's about 3 or 4 months, breakeven at current difficulty.

Paypal doesn't deal with Bitcoin only ACH and credit card transfers.
You would have to convert your Bitcoin to fiat via your bank first, then send to Paypal.

SilkRoad, are you friggin' nuts?!!? ![Huh](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/huh.gif) Things like SilkRoad, Gox, and Neo & Bee are what's holding Bitcoin back. As long as the perception from regulators that Bitcoin is "haven for criminals, drug dealers, and money laundering", it'll take that much longer for acceptance. Get your drugs from the local drug dealer like a normal person. ![Tongue](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/tongue.gif)

Honestly since there's only 3 options, I'd do B or convert to fiat when it reaches $1000. I could always re-invest back to BTC, but also take care of any bills, debt, family I have immediately.
If there was a half/half choice, I would really pick that. Half Fiat/Half BTC.

Bitmain not only offers a great product at a fair price, but they are also putting an end to a lot of the shenanigans pulled by other hardware manufactures by forcing them to alter behavior in order to stay competitive. Just say no to pre-orders! ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) That pretty much sums it up right there. Quality control issues with the S2 and general communication issues aside, they're the only miner manufacturer that ships from stock at a decent price. They changed how us, as customers, view all companies. If they don't ship within days and the price doesn't lower with the current BTC price, we immediately get turned off. The 5 or 6 month waiting period or longer is no longer acceptable as industry norm. Now if they could have S2's in stock and lower the S2 price like they do the S1 price. ![Tongue](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/tongue.gif)

Please no Magic and Exchange together.
We already had one Goxing enough for our Bitcoin lifetimes.

That'd be so awesome if regressing in technology would lead to faster hashrates. If I could mine with my Commodore 64, I'd be a Bitcoin Billionaire! ![Grin](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/grin.gif)

I like Coinabit, because it contains Bit and Coin in the name. ![Cool](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/cool.gif) Anything besides Mimex I think.

Where's the head core programmer dude, Wladimir?
What about the crazy programmer dude, Amir Taaki?
What about Overstock CEO, Patrick Byrne?
Overall solid list, just some notable omissions here and there.

Now just need to keep the positive momentum going with more adoption with companies, positive news, and just spreading the news to the masses.
Adoption is increasing, albeit silently. Right now it is the small and medium scale merchants who are adopting BTC. Anyway let's concentrate on them rather than going after big names such as Amazon, Ebay and Facebook. We have already got at least one large-scale seller on our side (Overstock). And I am satisfied with it. ![Grin](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/grin.gif) True, it seems that small businesses have the most to gain, as far as profit margin goes, from Bitcoin: http://www.coindesk.com/small-businesses-enjoy-success-accepting-bitcoin/

If you're going to get an Antminer, get the S1, not the U1. At least you can sell the Antminer S1 after you're done mining with it in a couple months.
