5121  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Another Corona Virus Tracking app malware founds it's way in Google Play on: March 19, 2020, 06:09:15 AM
In addition, I don't see the reasons to track those coronavirus around me. If there are cases in my location, local government will do serious orders to contain the virus. And basically, what you have to do is do what the health experts advised, staying away from crowd, keep your body as clean as possible (especially your hands), and try to stay inside your house as much as possible. That's all you need to do to protect yourself from the virus.
My thoughts exactly on a deeper look at this, with all the effective quarantne methods and the way the world is tackling this virus heads on; E.g in my state our internet network service providers send bulk(broadcast)messages to our mobile phones on the very essential and basic preventive measures, they also update us on areas that have been rampaged/ravaged and to stay away from those areas and at best stay at home. This is somewhat of a world wide crisis, prominent individuals have tested positive, information on what to do isn't concealed, it's so overt that it'll eventually come to your doorsteps, no need to download any app at all.
5122  Other / Meta / Re: Where to post a giveaway? on: March 19, 2020, 05:39:12 AM
I am ok with being asked to move or putting it in the right spot, but deleting the post without any context does not help me solve the problem.
Moderators have a lot of threads to move, delete, trash daily, do you think they will ever have time to message everyone of those posters to move their threads to the right section? You should read the rules, that's what they expect you to do, and on areas you still consider gray, you ask questions, just like your did in this thread.
5123  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: March 18, 2020, 10:39:17 PM
Matic is a good player for Manchester United but he is very old now.
One year extension is good in order to give him a place for retirement and help United find a player of the same dynamic and level compared to Matic.
I am not too sure if nemanja Matic has anything else to offer Manchester United, in my honest opinion I think they would be better off selling him right now they can still get something out of the transfer, he may get zero playing time in this one year extension period and that will reduce his market value(if he has any for now), except if he's planning to retire at Manchester United.
5124  Other / Meta / Re: Bitcointalk Forum - Facebook like website on: March 18, 2020, 10:04:15 PM
To think that I quit facebook for a long while now and this forum has made me not to think of logging in there again and someone wants us to go back to that is ridiculous, the forum may for some need some upgrading(because for users like myself, I'm fine with how things are now)and that's already in progress as the forums new software should be ready very soon, but it's going to be nothing like facebook.
5125  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Another Corona Virus Tracking app malware founds it's way in Google Play on: March 18, 2020, 08:54:25 PM
- btc address is still empty, thanks to our researchers, but we really don't know maybe someone in the
next coming weeks will fall for this trick
This is the surprising part, could it mean people now double check before they send out their money to this scammers, this trick is a bit different from the more popular giveaway scams, this scammers are trying to work on the psyche of people with the most trending issue in the world now: corona virus pandemic and I am surprised how it is yet to work/succeed. Another reason is "warning" threads like this, it will save many more people from sending BTC to that address.
5126  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Focus on your goal. on: March 18, 2020, 03:52:02 PM
If you're to actually "focus on your goal" and have contributions, quality ones to add to discussions on the forum, then it wouldn't be any business of yours if people are only concerned about how to earn or on ways they can make money through signature campaigns, you will just make your impact and rank up your own way, and that's what high ranked users who started with no merits did, I enjoin you to do the same.
5127  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: I Achieved It Finally!! Thank you, everyone, who helped me in my journey. on: March 18, 2020, 01:52:30 PM
If this post is for merit or not doesn't matter imo, one thing that's certain is that you have done well, and i congratulate you and also your efforts in starting off from 0 merits to more than 100, it's not a walk in the park, there are many members with more posts and activities than you but with no or fewer merits.

Some members are not actually warm-hearted  towards rank up threads, but i think it should not be disapproved, let those who think it's not possible to rank up, read and "buckle up" and try to achieve the same as well, congratulations @Henri Cartier

5129  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: 5 Tools to Help you in Bitcoin on: March 16, 2020, 03:25:55 PM
Telegram cannot contribute or help in trading success, it's just an app, yes it's more crypto friendly than other apps, but I see no benefit to be derived from it, the opposite is many times the case, those groups you are referring to on telegram are mostly fake groups with fake signals and they just want to make money, asking people to pay for signals that are just hinged on luck.

The others are helpful, except maybe number 5
If you want to stay informed to the latest cryptocurrency news you could finds it on twitter.
I'll prefer to get information on this forum(BTT)than on twitter, there are a lot of distorted/spurious information there.
5130  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What is happening? on: March 16, 2020, 01:55:22 PM
Op I can understand the root of your worry, you're one of the promoters of this project, and the price is crashing so low, this inevitably creates panic. But there are a lot going on at this moment to act as consolation, even bitcoin is going down, and other alts as well, it's that condition that's prevailing in the market at this time. But altcoins/icos are known for this, starting high and ending low, so your project may not be affected by the market, the major coins could rise, leaving it behind, you can only hope, and that's what ico promoters and investors have been left with for a long time now.
5131  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League Discussion Thread on: March 16, 2020, 12:21:04 PM
I see the matches between City vs Real, Juventus vs Lyon, Barcelona vs Napoli and Bayern vs Chelsea are postponed. Any possible date for the matches to restarts? We all know the EPL will restart possibly from the 2rd April but never heard anything about the CL yet or I must missed.
I don't think UEFA has any fixed date yet in mind, maybe they'll just wait till this situation improves before they begin anything like rescheduling the matches for later periods. With how swift every country is handling this issue, I think in a few weeks we'll be back and running again, the whole world has its hands on deck and rightfully so, this pandemic cannot be tackled independently.

I just hope this delay doesn't kill off the momentum of the teams in the UCL, I'm sure they will all want to play their matches as of the normal time, but no one foresaw this and we have to handle it this way, if not for anything it'll help unfit players regain fitness before the games resume.
5132  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Edward Snowden interested back in Bitcoin after Crash on: March 16, 2020, 06:51:06 AM
If this is actually the first time in a while he feels like he should buy bitcoin, then he has been making a bad decision all this while, it isn't only at this market crash that bitcoin should be bought, if you are an investor and only wait to buy in a dip, you will not be able to accumulate as much as possible. I buy bitcoin always, maybe not as much as I buy when the prices are low, but no matter how little it is, I make sure I do not wait so long in increasing my portfolio, it's cleverer that way, and I am not buying with more money than I can afford to lose as i have internalized that rule.
5133  Other / Meta / Re: Use your smerit on: March 15, 2020, 05:42:14 PM
Have you thought about it disappearing by April 1  Grin Shocked  Roll Eyes?
Smerits would not just decay all of a sudden, that is if it will decay at all, I'm sure before theymos does that he will inform the community ahead, so users can make good use of their smerits. Everyone is encouraged to be involved in the merit process(sending and also receiving), but it cannot be imposed on them, but then there are the merit sources who are giving them out without any restraint.
5134  Other / Meta / Re: [HELP] I lost a 'sent trust' line ... on: March 15, 2020, 11:02:26 AM
First of all, this is a wrong section for you to place your topic, please forward it to Beginners & Help
Trust is part of the forum policy, so it should stay here in meta, which is the appropriate board and not in beginners and help section.
so is the capability to delete a positive trust a 'gift' with refund options?
is that good as forum procedure ?
People do change overnight you know, so if a user who is trusted today, turns out to be a scammer tomorrow, shouldn't it be possible for those who trusted him to distrust him(delete their positive feedback).
5135  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Calling the Bitcoin community to help battle COVID-19 on: March 15, 2020, 10:28:28 AM
If this is going to be my little way of contributing to combat this deadly virus, then I'm taking that opportunity in leaps and bounds, it's an ingenious dea and the 'brains' behind this deserves commendation. This virus is yet to reach the shores of my country, but if I can help others from the comfort of my home, I'll take it up and I'll enjoin others to do the same, once I verify all the security issues and possible breaches I'll download it asap.
5136  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Edward Snowden is bullish, BTFD on: March 15, 2020, 08:54:43 AM
But look at the those twitter comments though, hilarious, there are still people who really don't understand bitcoin or literally hates bitcoin...
I am not amazed, there are still a lot of people who surprisingly still believe bitcoin has zero advantages and that it's investors will in the end regret why they invested. Sometime last week I was in a gathering of friends and one person brought up a discussion about bitcoin, they all were against the bitcoin, throwing different vituperations and cursing that they'll never buy bitcoin, triggered the more by this recent crash. I tried to explain what they needed to hear to them, but it all fell on deaf ears.

It's obvious we cannot make everyone understand what we do, many have and will continue to miss out, maybe they cannot handle the risk, but life itself is a risk, isn't it.
5137  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Market stability is not ascertain. We might fall again on: March 14, 2020, 01:35:01 PM
As long as this persist, we are not sure how long the market will survive.
The market cannot be sentenced to death just yet, and tbh nothing totally out of the ordinary has happened yet to create such an impression, so many of this posts are being created for a while now and it's not helping, most especially the newbies, they can be triggered to panic and make avoidable mistakes. I'm more worried about the spread of this virus, and can't wait to see its end, bitcoin will surely be fine, but so many lives are hanging in the balance due to this pandemic.
5138  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread (EPL) on: March 14, 2020, 09:09:49 AM
I wonder what is going to happen with all those matches that are postponed.
All matches for this fixture are postponed. The EURO 2020 is about to come. All those postponements are going to delay the start of EURO of even postpone it as well.
The matches would definitely be played and the competitions would still hold, it will be delayed, time frames would change and matches would be rushed, but it's all worth it, the danger of playing right now is more, it could continue the spread of the virus rapidly. The games have been stopped and now the health workers can get about their duties, it's not going to be long before the virus goes away and we can resume proceedings once more.

My only concern is with how boring weekends would be depending on how long all this lasts, I wish everyone especially players and coaches who have tested positive to the virus quick recovery and hope to see them on the pitch soon.
5139  Economy / Exchanges / Re: BEST WAYS TO BITCOIN IN USA on: March 14, 2020, 06:08:12 AM
P2P is the best option how ever its depens on the location if you know a persons selling it there then it must be the easy way
P2p looks like the easiest means, but from OP's post, the buyer doesn't look to have internalized a great knowledge of bitcoin or cryptocurrency, he could ignore the safety measures required in P2p trade such as using an escrow for example.(p2p trade is better if the buyer knows all that is necessary to avoid being scammed) An exchange may well and truly be the best option, OP could recommend the ones listed in the post above to his friend.
5140  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Positive World Response on: March 14, 2020, 01:37:27 AM
If that is the case, there should not have been a serious dip as much as what we are presently experiencing. If that is what Coinbase is experiencing, although a world-class exchange, not all exchanges are having such an occurrence. Also, we cannot conclude yet.  until there is outright evidence to show that and it must be evident in the outlook of the entire market.
There are two periods when a lot of people hurry to buy bitcoin: The first is when the market is prospering and the second is the opposite to the first, so with the latter being the case at the moment, I am not surprised to hear that many people are trying to purchase BTC now, they will be getting it at a less expensive rate. One BTC was valued at 9k weeks ago, now it's just barely above 5000, it's a good bargain to cash in on imo.

Investors are always seeking ways to make more profits, this crash in price will definitely come as a good news to many who will take the opportunity to double and even triple their portfolio, only the new traders that will still panic whenever this happens.
