He has history ... and seriously guys please keep the pissing contests to the other sections of the forum.
Need I remind you this is a "Development and Technical Discussion" topic, we have enough crap to wade through elsewhere.

Go up into the jungle of the Congo, where your smartphone battery was mined, and try to buy something with your bitcoins yeah, cause that's the crucial use case for 99.99% of the users of money

REYKJAVIK, ICELAND, December 23, 2013 -- DataCell, Inc. ( www.datacell.com) -- In response to huge demands from the Bitcoin mining industry, DataCell is pleased to announce the forthcoming launch of a dedicated facility based in Iceland. Our new co-location facility, planned for completion in early 2014, will offer miners by far the highest power density and rack space utilisation in use of any provider. With electricity prices less than half the price of central Europe and easier cooling Iceland is the perfect place for mining. Wow, yet another prediction comes to fruition. Iceland is going to a major bitcoin mine for the world ... weird yet logical.

Ummm, actually Snowden has exposed whole Institutions full of Fourth Amendment criminals, perpetrating crimes wantonly and persistently over many years.
Charges, prosecutions and punishments should be fitting for such criminals. Let the chips fall where they may. Choose your sides wisely, history does not play well for losers.

I find it unlikely that the 1% will just hand over their wealth to the nerds. Be prepared for a fight.
.... this is one thing the 1% pretty much have the same vote as everybody else ... if no-one is using your crap money, it doesn't matter how much of it you have. Bitcoin is about non-violence. current problem is almost 100% of the world uses the "crap" money its harder for the 0.1% who have a better solution to make a btc economy when 99.9% are stuck on the old system .....at least in the early days ... no-one said it would be easy, but that is why early adopters deserve bigger payout because the odds are smaller the smaller the usage, in equal proportion to the risk that it will become widespread. Btw, everytime one of the 1% buys some bitcoin they are indeed handing over their wealth to nerds ... and pure greed will just about ensure that they keep doing it more and more even though it is probably not in their long term interests, we'll see how much those grand money holding 'elite' truly understand money won't we, I guess?

... just give all your fiat to your wife, I'm sure she'll find something to do with it Just be careful of the denominations, or she could end up getting handcuffed to a pole: http://www.wnd.com/2005/04/29732/I don't want to live on this planet anymore. Just leave your bitcoins in safe hands if you decide to checkout (I can take care of them ) ... the world would be a worse place without ya btw.

Commenting on the incident, Baltimore County police spokesman Bill Toohey told the Sun: “It’s a sign that we’re all a little nervous in the post-9/11 world.”
wtf? ... they saw some $2 bills and pissed themselves in fear? who are these people 3 year olds? Edit: looks like it is a story from 2005, maybe things have got better since then

reads to me like you understand very little about politics and even less about monetary science ... fwiw Start here https://mises.org/daily/3204 and here http://mises.org/document/3970 and don't stop digging, maybe then come back and spout off? Money is a value information technology, politics seems to always want to add a layer of moralistic, compromising kruft on top, regardless of the tech. involved. Decentralisation allows value information technologies to become truly apolitical, kruft-free and superior in many ways that all users can benefit from.

Thanks for sharing. It's proof that rich investors are going to get richer off of Bitcoin. These stories are interesting but I prefer hearing about new start ups that actually accept Bitcoins for product over mega miners looking for a quick buck or companies that cater to miners looking for a quick buck. Oh well, I suppose without mining profit Bitcoin wouldn't be nearly as successful as it is now.
I don't know ... I like to think people will look at a story like this and think "ok, this bitcoin is some serious shit, look at that hardcore hardware!" ... basically when you examine a big bank today what you should really want to know about is what their IT hardware set-up looks like ... after all vast majority of money is a fiat number in a database server somewhere. money is in essence a value information technology ... get the IT bit wrong and the value will disappear

to me, right from day one bitcoin has always seemed to posses a uniquely japanese flavour that i can't quite put my finger on ...
is it satoshi nakamoto? mt. gox welcomed in japan? the strong ethical incentive structures towards network collaboration ahead of competition?
... and all in stark contrast with BoJ's insane money-printing experiments and desperate straits that the centralised fiat experiment has got their economy into, it feels like Japan has a date with destiny in bitcoin or their fates have been inextricably entwined from the beginning ...

http://www.zerohedge.com/news/2013-12-20/china-bails-out-money-markets-second-day-row-following-repo-rate-blow-out China's central bank said it had injected over 300 billion yuan ($49.2 billion) into the nation's money markets over a three-day period as interbank interest rates surged to their highest levels since June.
The interest rates banks charge each other for short-term loans jumped to 8.2%, the highest level since the June cash squeeze.
The stress in the banking system is starting to spread elsewhere, with stocks in Shanghai falling for a ninth straight day to the weakest level in four months while government bonds dropped, pushing the 10-yield up to near the highest in eight years.
yeah, that almighty yuan alright ... the place is about to go tits up buddy, pay attention ... ... sheesh where did this latest crop of idiots on bitcointalk arrive from, Wall Street?

The NSA wasted that 10 Million dollars so aimlessly.
These people do not deserve the money they get.
Clearly neither the money nor the unbridled power they have lusted after all these years ... sunlight is the best, and only, disinfectant for this kind of rot.

Wo wo wow! NSA have a backdoor in SHA? Srsly? All cryptanalytics worldwide are NSA undercover agents. This thoughts made me wet
I guess two sock-puppets is always better than one in dumb govt. drone way of thinking ... bigger budgets, less accountability.

"In God we trust. Everyone else, we monitor".
Sounds like a good policy. As if anyone else would be 'better' if they were in that position.
Check yourselves before criticizing the 'government' please...
Except they use the full force of secrecy laws and corrupt judges (and who knows what other nefarious means) and the Iron Fist of the State to specifically avoid all monitoring ... check yourself before defending corruption please ... Fool check yourself before bitching about 'corruption' in a developed first world nation/ 'nefarious', 'iron fist' LOL Do you think you can even post like this if you were under REAL tyranny? Mouthing off like no tomorrow. Jesus Christ you naive fuck. Typical Statist apologist ... all class defending the indefensible. The NSA are a soft tyranny, you have no clue. Have a nice day sweetie.
