Good morning Bitcoinland.

First real volume in weeks I see, and it's a $10 dumpdown.

Enough to get the trolls 'n' sox worked up to the lather point.

I immediately stuffed a couple of grand into my wallet to go buy a few more coins, then realized my neighborhood 4% fee BTC ATM is only open Monday-Friday. Since Decentral actually raised it's ATM fees to 9% this is a deal-breaker.

Hopefully these cheap prices will last until Monday morning. Why do these things always seem to happen on weekends or when I'm out of town? Sigh.

BTW, for those who expressed concern, it seems I've beaten the pneumonia. Went to the hospital for a follow-up on Thursday and was given a clean bill of health.

Also, for those who find my morning greetings repetitive and boring, what about Abercrombie's "Is crypto done?" post on every little dip? Does he actually think it's clever or funny? LOL

get well soon, jimbo and dont forget to rest...

Thanx. Resting is all I'm doing.

Had to cancel out of a campground gig on Saturday that I was really looking forward to, after spending Friday in the hospital on IV antibiotics. Seems what I thought was toker's cough was pneumonia. Gave me a chance to follow the Blue Jays' flurry of trade deadline acquisitions though.

Since then I've been mostly sleeping, absorbing antibiotics, and watching the Jays climb back into a post-season spot.

My bitcoins are doing just fine and are the least of my worries at this point. If we're still under $290 when I get my strength back and get out, I'll buy a few more.

Forgive my ill-mannared acting by not asking about you and wishing you a speedy recovery and all the best Jimbo ?

Welcome back to the bitcoinland and I hope that you will always be here in our long journey.

Take care dear Smiley

Thanx for your concern, but I'm a tough old goat and it'll take a lot more than a few Streptococcus Pneumoniae to keep me down.

Good morning Bitcoinland.

Been on the sick list for a few days but I didn't seem to miss anything except maybe the usual trollfest when it temporarily dipped below $280.

No sign of the anticipated end-of-week crash that China was supposed to wreak upon us.

Business as usual.

Good morning Bitcoinland.

Back over $290 after a small dip. $280 still seems safe for now.

Dare I use the word "sideways"?

Good morning/afternoon/evening/night (depending on your time zone Cheesy ) people interested in Bitcoin.

Would I be pointing out the obvious by stating that we're still in the $290s poised for an assault on $300?

I hope that didn't offend anyone.  Grin

Jimbo, please don't change your usual Good Morning Bitcoinland reply on here and let haters hate more and more, they will end eating themselves  Wink

Thanks Fakhoury. I appreciate your feedback. Don't worry, it was a one-time statement.

I am deeply offended by your post. Please, stop spamming this thread, which is reserved to high quality posts.

I'm sorry madmat.

Next time I'll try to stick to brony gifs, altcoin shilling, rocket trains and colorful lines on charts in this thread of consistently high quality posts.

If it goes down to 230 or below I will gladly toss in more than me weekly 3% I normally do. Heck, still waiting on the sub 200, I got very lucky earlier this year and caught the crash below 200 and happened to have money to buy a little bit. IMO, a return on my 1.5 BTC buy has shown great return if I have to cash out now. More than if I had put it into a saving account for sure.

Indeed.

I jumped all over January's dip, missed the $160 rock bottom but bought double digits at about $175, my biggest single-day purchase since early 2013. I'm hoping they'll be doubled in value soon.

Way better than a savings account and way safer too.

Well good morning Bitcoinland.

You know there are things like timezones right?

LOL

I just stumbled on this post now.

Yes of course I know about time zones, an invention of Sanford Fleming, I believe. You seem to be missing the point of my repetition.

It's always morning, afternoon, evening or night somewhere in the world, but it's always morning in Bitcoinland.

It's like my formerly frequent references to coffee. When I realized some people totally missed the metaphor and thought I was talking about the beverage, I toned it down a notch.

I can't believe that some people reacted so negatively to what was intended to be a pleasant daily hello and recap of the day's status.

At least your comment was civilized. Some people actually seemed perturbed and made a more hostile response. To these people I'll just say, "Get a life".

Cheers.  Smiley

Beijing market is in meltdown, so expect some temporary gains in Bitcoin. Next few hours will be interesting.

But we will be back to 230 by Friday.

If that is the case you should be more than happy to take 10 bucks over your spot price then, after all, giving you 10 dollar profit.

More profitable to sell at 290 and buy them back at the lower price. If you are a hoddler, then you may not get that.

What this holder doesn't get is how you can be so sure it's going to be appreciably lower on Friday, let alone all the way down to $230.

Sounds like a typical beartard pipe dream.

I have to say I find it pretty stupid how many people behave so childish when the price pumps a bit...

lol! what do you expect? this is the "speculation" board and the "price movement" thread, if you are looking for elevated conversation you should look elsewhere.

This place is also full of aspiring traders, who as we all know, are mostly kids.

yea I started trading Bitcoin back in the times and had no idea what I am doing... But now that I have a good understanding of markets in general following all the "bitcoin trading experts" it's kinda strange...

I switched almost completely to trading forex which feels much more fundamental. Everybody seems so much more mature compared to any place I joined for trading Bitcoin... The Whale Club teamspeak has some smart people in it but the loud "WE ARE GOING TO THE MOON, IT'S FOMO TIME, I am going to Jerk off now" guys are also there...

When I first acquired bitcoins in early 2013, I tried my hand at daytrading.

I did OK mainly by anticipating DDOS attacks on Gox but then again, anyone can make money during a serious bull run.

I then realized that despite my successes, it was a suckers game. It was  zero-sum situation where the only ones guaranteed to really make money were the exchange operators. Gambling against others with vastly more resources and experience just didn't make sense.

That's why I buy the dips, accumulate coins, and wait for Bitcoin to achieve the success I truly believe it will.

I'll leave casinos, daytrading, online poker, and lotteries to the gamblers.

Wow. I turn my back to do a few chores before heading back to town and I miss all the fun.

Hope I didn't miss the chance to buy a few more coins before $300 gets left behind.

All this really does is negate today's earlier dip and move us up a smidgen over yesterday's gain.

Right direction though, and on decent volume.
