A moguce da je za tjedan. Zapamtio sam $50 u svakom slucaju.
Hahaha! Thanks

It's unbelievable how bad the security of these crypto-related accounts must have been. A simple 2FA device would have likely prevented this. I could see them receiving more liability if the hackers aren't found here. Where did you get the idea that individual accounts were hacked? If it was, as reported, an inside-job attack, no security settings on the user side would have any effect. Twitter's support team said "We detected what we believe to be a coordinated social engineering attack by people who successfully targeted some of our employees with access to internal systems and tools". And if you followed the news, you could see that it’s not just crypto-related accounts that were compromised. Many prominent handles were affected as well, such as, Joe Biden, Barack Obama, Bill Gates, Elon Musk and others... I doubt that none of them had 2FA enabled.

On a second thought, what if this is the main intention! they were actually after a sensitive info, then the rest of the funds were just a front to divert attention So you’re basically just repeating what’s been said before? Did you actually read the thread before replying? There are some rumors circulating on twitter that the scam was just a cover for something else. For example, stealing direct messages from users, destroying twitter's reputation or something like that.
The DMs from all of those people might indeed be worth more than the $100k he got from the simple doubling scam.
And you can also lock this topic. And if someone need more discussion or something to know they can look up at these topics.
If you had looked at the timestamp you would have noticed that this is the first topic on the subject and not the two you mentioned.

EDIT: Sorry, opet sam off-topic!

+1 for "gift manager" Well done, thank sir! wow from the link you pinned there there is a free lowest, woah is that true and it seems like there are sponsors like items with the btc logo what is a gift or sold maybe I will see the whole thing and thanks for the link
'Gift' seems to have a completely different meaning here... and, for some reason, completely elusive.

The DMs from all of those people might indeed be worth more than the $100k he got from the simple doubling scam.
While true I cannot help but wonder are people that dense? Do they really think the stored information they have on those social media sites is safe enough to the point they are willing to store important information there? I could understand a normal person doing it, after all what is the biggest secret an average person will hold? At worst they are cheating on their partner or something, but for those personalities that have access to privileged information storing anything important on those platforms is just asking for trouble and could comeback to kick their butts on the future. You'd be surprised how stupid 'smart' people can be. If that happens, some of the higher-up heads could roll.

Some BTC address that was published as part of the scam has already received over 5 BTC 12 BTC since the hacking of the twitter accounts. I can’t believe someone is still falling for such classic scams...
I doubt that number, some transactions have been started well after the tweets have been deleted and I have a weird feeling I've seen the same amount of around ~12 BTC in the last doubling scam, I'll check my post history since at that time I watched the addresses more carefully and they were simply swapping money across to inflate the numbers. You might be right. There were tweets from @chainalysis that they used multiple addresses for scam. Although I only saw one. Unsurprisingly, the hackers used some of the funds from the different scam addresses to pay into their main collection address to make it seem like more people are participating and benefiting from the scam. source: https://twitter.com/chainalysis/status/1283576353418338306?s=20I find it weird that a person smart enough to launch such an attack and which spent quite a lot of time planning it resorted in the end with all that knowledge to a stupid doubling scam, which I doubt it earned him that much money. Total waste of brain cells.
There are some rumors circulating on twitter that the scam was just a cover for something else. For example, stealing direct messages from users, destroying twitter's reputation or something like that.

There's definitely something suspicious about that one. Probably some kind of off-site bounty strategy.

Twitter posted about it saying it was a coordinated SE attack but wonder why the hacker posted from these celeb's accounts. It was so obvious that it was a scam attempt but Twitter also proved to be so vulnerable.
What do you mean by 'why the hacker posted from these celeb's accounts'? He first started with accounts from crypto exchanges and prominent people from the crypto world. After that, he continued with the accounts of celebrities with a large number of followers. I guess he didn’t know how long he would be able to sustain the scam so he first used the accounts to reach out to the largest number of potential victims.

It seems that 2FA is not helpful when it comes to insider attacks.
Nothing helps when you have insider job hack, but there must be some kind of protection that is working as Trump was not hacked yet Someone could abused this to cause much more harm in the world. Looks like the hacker didn't have much time to prepare this scam. He used the simplest method and tried to make maximum profit. But the truth is, with enough planning this could have been a lot worse. Combine human stupidity with fear and the sky is the limit!
