5141  Economy / Economics / Re: Where the top world Elite Rich guys invest on: October 13, 2020, 08:22:11 AM
In my experience and as a personal opinion, there are four things rich people invest their wealth that makes them wealthier.

These are:
Arts: Why? Art is indeed lucrative, has a value that would only require small space to keep it. One piece of art might cost 2 million USD. If you use gold, 2 million worth of it requires too much space.

Realty/Real estate: Because why not? Titles and cashflow and also, of course, an asset are the things that will make you rich.

Financing: This is too self-explanatory. You will get to play the rich play when you have a financing business.

Entertainment: Market, market, market. This is one of the most scalable business models.

Investing in arts is one of the areas where its mostly just rich and super rich people investing in it. Buying a painting for more than a million is just not feasible for the average investors. Old paintings are great for investing as they never really lose their value, are outside of the Fiat trap and with modern conservation the pictures will survive a very long time. I wish I had the money to buy real art.

One more thing I see a lot for the super rich is that their cash levels are quite high compared to other investors. This probably so they can take advantage of low prices during crisis and buy very cheap.
5142  Other / Politics & Society / Re: A Good Salary vs A Career in the sector you love... on: October 13, 2020, 08:12:46 AM
I prefer good salary because as a family man all eyes on you, children school fees is there, children will wear clothes, children will eat food, with this i chose good salary than career you love that will not provide school fees, food to the family it can just make people honour you in the company.

I agree with you, working in a sector we love would be very nice but it can't be the ultimate goal. We need to think more about a career with a decent income so we can provide dir our families. I believe in every job we will encounter things we won't like. It's just normal. Which makes it's so much more important to have things outside of work to clear our minds. Balancing work and life is the most important for a long career.
5143  Other / Off-topic / Re: 2 years cigarette free on: October 13, 2020, 07:52:18 AM
I quit 2 years ago and I never felt better. I know it sounds strange but I read a book and I it was easy to quit. I strongly encourage everyone to do so because they can but they dont know that.

Congratulations buddy, that is great news. Keep it up.

I stopped smoking at the start of the corona pandemic, so far it's going good but I am afraid to start smoking again when the pandemic is over. With corona being really bad if you have preconditions in your lungs I got scared straight.

5145  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Card Counting in Blackjack on: October 13, 2020, 07:36:38 AM

In my opinion, card counting is applicable to online and physical casinos. I think iit works better in online casinos because there is nothing the house can do. There are other solutions and the solutions above are applicable mostly in physical casinos.

How to count cards in blackjack link:https://www.blackjackapprenticeship.com/how-to-count-cards/

I think it's very hard to card count in black jack these days. Going to a physical casino alone without a team is almost impossible. It is very suspicious if you are standing behind a table and just count the deck for 20 minutes and then suddenly jump on the table at start betting the maximum amount. Security will be pretty much be on top of you within the first hour of gambling and you just end up being banned from the casino. With a group of people - multiple spotter - at least 2 gamblers - 1-2 decoys - and a good exit strategy it might be possible.
5146  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Are we all fools on believing the word "HOLD"? on: October 13, 2020, 07:27:34 AM
Personally I do believe HODL is a valid investing mind frame.
Currently I only hold three coins, bitcoin, x42 protocol (this will be my biggest winner I am quite sure) and stratis, which I will probably sell because I really hate the whole 'strax' idea.

If you believe in a project, no only in what they promise but what they have delivered, you should definitely hodl. At least imo.

I agree with you, holding crypto coins is still a valid investment strategy in my opinion. The coins I am holding for long term are Bitcoins and ETH at the moment, smaller holdings in other cryptos I would trade more quickly. The thing about constantly trading your coins is that you have to pay a lot of transaction cost and you need to keep finding new investments. I think it's very hard to be better than the market constantly, so I just prefer to hold my coins instead of being forced to rebuy at a higher price in the future.
5147  Economy / Economics / Re: The 2nd generation of banking is going digital on: October 13, 2020, 07:18:42 AM
It is almost 1 year since the creation of this thread and the speculations had found it right. Could I think that the pandemic helping with the transition? Sound just a big coincidence but obviously, it was a reason why we have these changes and people had to take this opportunity as well as we care about our health. Yes, it wasn't already in the full phase of the transition but seeing a continuous development will help to get into the higher level of adoption.

Who would have thought 1 year ago how 2020 is going to be, no one thought about a global pandemic like corona. I think the pandemic had a huge influence on digitial banking. People are more scared to be infected with the virus and try to avoid physical contact wherever possible. Everyone has a mobile phone and a credit card these days. There is no problem anymore with contactless payments in stores and supermarkets. We can pay either with the phone or the card, no need anymore for cash. Digital Banking is the future for our generations.
5148  Other / Politics & Society / Re: if trump loses will he sell the USA out on: October 12, 2020, 04:19:30 PM
so heres trump with years worth of classified info in his head. and hes on the hook for 300+ million bucks in loans personally guaranteed by him to come due in the next several years. to someone(s) unknown.

so say he loses. that classified info likely worth far more than that. so he goes to his master, putin, sells it and lives a life of relative luxury in russia. or sells to the highest bidder(s) and just splits to a non extradition country.

plausible? he certainly seems to value his own skin more than the usa or its citizens. i figure he will sell us out in a new york minute.

Trump is a billionaire, why would he go to Russia? It doesn't make sense in my opinion. And what about his family? All his kids would have to go to Russia to then. I am pretty sure he wants for his Kids to stay in USA, maybe become president them selfs one day. He owns so many different real estate places in USA, imagine abandoning them. It would all be seized by the government if he does illegal stuff and leaves the country. I don't think so.
5149  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: I want to become a good member of this forum. on: October 12, 2020, 04:11:54 PM
I agree with your points, it's a good way to become an active member on this forum. In my opinion the best way for this forum, is to just be around. Sometimes you won't have the time to be as active as usual, and sometimes you will have plenty of time to be even more active. Just keep sticking around. You will see that many users on this forum have been around for 5+ years. Good luck on your endeavors.

5151  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: It's F'n happening ----- Polk VS. Negreanu HUNL Grudge Match on: October 12, 2020, 03:53:30 PM
^  Lol.  I mean yeah...  It's just better that way imho.  They're both elite pros and not a couple of microstakes noobs who need a cheat sheet.

I'm actually surprised why Doug just wouldn't let it go since he has a huge edge over Dnegs.

Edit:  And like Dnegs said..  'your best game, your format, your approved platform.'.  And Doug can't agree not to use his pf chart?

And I'm pretty sure it's not just a chart, it's a spreadsheet that auto computes ranges vs opponents' range and raise sizes.

Yeah Doug has a completely different way of analysing the game than Dnegs. Apparently he has been grinding lower stakes tables for month now is sharpening his game. But he will not be on the top I think as a few years ago. Poker is evolving so fast these days and more and more young kids are coming up crushing the pros. Where as Doug has an edge over Dnegs, younger players have an edge over Doug. I watched  the Heads Up session of Doug vs Landon Tice, he lost like $500 or so until he gave up.
5152  Other / Off-topic / Re: Why privacy matters on: October 12, 2020, 03:46:17 PM
Here are some tools that I recommend for Privacy.

Logless VPN, it is important to find one that doesn't keep logs for ultimate privacy:
https://nordvpn.com/
https://mullvad.net/

Wasabi Wallet, a privacy focused BTC wallet that implements CoinJoin over Tor:
https://wasabiwallet.io/

If you can develop a network of people to trade with, then you can avoid centralized exchanges. I find the marketplaces of various forums to be useful in buying and selling products and services with BTC, this can let you earn BTC without going on exchanges like Coinbase and to also buy services without exposing personal information that may be stored on traditional payment services.

NordVPN is great, I am using it for month now and would recommend it to anyone who is trying to get more privacy when being online. In my opinion people don't think much about privacy until they have a problem. For example when being the target of an identity scam people would be much more private with their personal data. Without such problems it's very common to share everything these days, it's the time of social media.
5153  Economy / Economics / Re: What is the cause of economy rise and fall. on: October 12, 2020, 03:40:50 PM
There are many reasons for economic ups and downs.  One of the causes of economic decline is famine, heavy rains, droughts and various natural calamities such as cyclones, tidal waves and fires.  And at the root of economic growth are the export of goods produced in the country, development in various industries etc.

To add some more to what you just told us; Terrorism, war,  and plaque caude huge decline to a country's economy. These causes to an area to have not enough food supplies, businesses, livelihoods, homes, and more thing that is necessary to one's growth. Eventually it will cause famine and will cause the state's or country's economy to decline afterwards.

The thing with War is that overall it has a bad impact for all the countries involved, but there are some people who are actually profiting from war. For example if you look at USA and the Iraq war there were many companies who profited a lot during that time. So while war was very bad for Iraq, it was actually not so bad for USA in economic terms.

The economy at the moment depends fully on the corona pandemic in my opinion. If we can contain it this year or not will decide if the economies go up or down next year.
5154  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Bitcoin sportsbook bonuses on: October 12, 2020, 11:12:23 AM
So far I have used bonuses only a few times at sports betting sites. The problem I see most of the times with the bonuses is that there are lot of conditions you need to fulfill to use the bonuses, usually they are limited in time and on particular bets. I find that casinos have a lot of more requirements for sports bets than for the normal casino or for playing poker. I usually prefer a flat 100% bonus for a casino than some complex free bets for sports. During the last World Cup I used a bonus which forced me to use bets with odds above 2.5 on at least 5 bets in a row.
5155  Other / Off-topic / Re: Xbox Series S for 299! on: October 12, 2020, 11:06:13 AM
I not such a big console gamer, still using my PS3 at home from time to time. Overall I prefer playing on a PC instead of a console. But if I would be buying a new console this year it would definitely be an XBox. The new PlayStation is just too expensive and they are ripping of people with new games. The pricing of the new PS5 games is crazy, European have to pay more than USA and Asien players. This is not fair and we should all Boykott the new PS5.
5156  Economy / Economics / Re: Pandemic: good for the bitcoin market or bad? on: October 12, 2020, 10:56:49 AM
Good day,
forgive a newbie question please. I am new on the bitcoin scene and I am also pretty fresh in economics. I am learning, I suppose that is what I wanted to say. I was an ignorant for a way to long and now I trying to gain knowledge to be a little wiser. I got a bit lost because of the pandemic and I wonder is it good to invest in bitcoin and stock market nowadays or should I wait and see what is the market response going to be. I was pretty sure I got a hang of it but the situation changes so dynamically that it is hard for me to follow.

So far the bitcoin and Alt coin community made it pretty well through the corona pandemic. The bitcoin price has stayed almost the entire time above $10,000. We see that market evolved a lot over the last 5 years. Investors have more confidence in cryptos these days. But I still think the pandemic is bad for cryptos, because people have less money to spend and unemployment is rising all around the world. Without the pandemic this year the bitcoin price would likely be much higher.
5157  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you believe NBA is rigged? on: October 12, 2020, 10:28:43 AM
Well, if those chances are proved, a lot of NBA officials should be filed for fraud and bad management. Rigging something that big would also affect the players which shows none of them wanna rig the game they love. For now it really seems impossible.
I don't think the cheating that occurs in the world of sport will affect gambler on such a large scale. It sound very unlikely that the gambling houses will control a well-known sport like the NBA to their advantage. But if this were to happen then I don't think there would be anything more exciting in the sporting world to be at stake because everything was set up.

I agree with you, the NBA is just too big go be controlled why bookmakers. So far I didn't see any real proof that the NBA is rigged. I believe if such a proof would exist the the global fallout for the sport would be massive. Every newspaper would be reporting such a news. The average gambler would probably stop completely to bet on NBA games because who knows which games are fixed and which aren't. And imagine if the NBA players would have to go to jail. Its very unrealistic.
5158  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Athiest are the ultimate free thinker? on: October 12, 2020, 10:08:50 AM
I think so, yes. Atheists are usually much more open minded than religious people. Without the constrains of a religion humans can challenge their beliefs much easier. For example, ask a physicist professor if he beliefs in God. The answer will be in 90% of the cases no. Or the famous roman philosophs from 2000 years ago. Their texts are still valid today and most of them are build on atheists beliefs. I think as free thinker we need to lose all constrains to be fully open minded. Also you barely see atheists trying to convince other people that God doesn't exist. You will find much more religious people trying to convince others that their religion is the right one and the others are false.
5159  Economy / Economics / Re: The only thing goes up is debts! It’s inevitable! on: October 12, 2020, 10:01:35 AM
You can't never compare the years already passed through to the present, in fact we ordinary people do not expect these tragic happening in our world today. We are all new to this experience, only this year 2020 we are experiencing lockdowns, student studies at home and the collapse of the economy due to the bankruptcy of small and large companies. And almost all countries are experiencing debts to save their citizens from this pandemic, and we can do nothing about it.

I don't know about that. For me history seems to always repeat it's self. For example, look at Venezuela or Turkey they are fighting with insanely high inflation numbers. Nothing new, in the past many countries faced similar problems. Or for example grand monther, she saw 5 different currencies in her lifetime. Things might look a bit more stable these days but it's no guarantee that history will repeat itself. In current times we are seeing a crisis roughly every 10 years since World War 1. The common response after such a crisis was to go into debt and try 5o stabilize the economy. So far no country has fully repaid their debt. Its a cycle of increasing debt.
5160  Other / Politics & Society / Re: It's time to tell the EU to eff off on: October 12, 2020, 09:46:03 AM
They have ripped us off by taking our fish, and selling them back to us, as they have stripped our fishing grounds. This resulted in the loss of a lot of jobs for our fishermen. It's time to rebuild the fish stocks for the benefit of the eco system as well as the UK. I think all foreign fishing vessels should be banned for at least 5 years, as they don't respect the sustainability of the marine life.

We voted for a clean break from the EU. Now after 5 years, it time that we got it.

I wish for a clean break too. There is no room for cherry picking for the UK. The trade talks are so hostile in the last month that we should just end them. Let's go back to WTO terms and just wait a few years
UK will be coming back eventually and ask for a trade deal. Than we can have real negotiations
At the moment it's just a farce. We just need to look at Switzerland last month, they had a referendum to end free movement of people and voted against it 60/40. No cherry picking!
