5141  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What will be the Faith of Casino business owners? on: February 11, 2020, 07:42:07 AM
Casinos are already banned in several places, in particular in countries where people have limited freedom, such as communist and authoritarian government countries.
But some countries want the tax that these casinos generate and thus allow them to flourish. Censorship is not healthy thing to do here specially when humans tend to take risks with money. Still there needs to be a balance and allowing people to take responsibilities will only bring in backlash from other political parties, like it is in the US. Trump owns casinos in Vegas while others envy it.

Quote
Either way, Bitcoin and most other cryptos (or all?) are not considered money, hence there's nothing to gamble.
This is another topic of discussion. It is the local government's decision which is considered.

Quote
I believe that most casinos will have no problem staying in operation even if such a law passes, since they can simply cost elsewhere.
Casino businesses will just move to other countries and operate under a new name.
5142  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Altcoins Bounty Hunters are almost alone! on: February 11, 2020, 07:38:19 AM
Altcoin bounty hunters aren't going to co-operate because I've raised such thought in the past, new bounty hunters most especially don't care what they get or how they are been treated by developers and bad bounty managers, some bounty hunters are even ready to work for weeks and get pennies like 10$ in return, seem big in their eye
Even 10$ is an exaggeration. Bounty tokens are nothing more than shitcoins. But when we have a bunch of users in this forum willing to get down to their knees and beg with open palms for these shitdrops then nothing can be done about them. They are not even in this section of the forum which is of discussion of services and probably most of them are not even literate enough to read these posts.

So it is of no use trying to make them stop. They have to stop by their free will.

This is not always the case with bounties, sometimes the project that was never listed on exchange will be the one to pay good rewards to bounty hunters and some times listed bounty projects will only share a penny of rewards among bounty hunters, you gotta take the risks
Both those scenarios are ending up the same way. Selling the coins which are worth nothing yeilds zero coins for the hunter and not having anywhere to sell is also zero coins. There is no risk/reward talk here. It is a complete scam, so to speak.
5143  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: My Electrum wallet just got hacked for $35k+ on: February 11, 2020, 07:28:01 AM
Someone hacked into my computer went through my notes and found the seed?
It is unsafe to store your wallet private key in a note taking software that can be logged from other devices in case someone gets access to your login credentials there. Sorry to say that if you are looking to store money in crytpocurrencies you should not store the keys in such notebooks. It is important that you also keep your devices clean of malware which could also be the source of data leak to hackers.

There is no much legal approach that you can take here unless you are living in some place where cryptocurrency is understood by the authorities. Still you can approach your cybercrime department but I doubt it would go anywhere.
5144  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Use of Altcoin. Do you know any altcoin that has so much potential as use case? on: February 10, 2020, 07:17:16 AM
If altcoins have no potential why are they on top ranked lists?
Top "ranks" are based on some metric. Look carefully and you will find it in the charts. It is going to be some price of every altcoin is you stack them all against another and they will get a rank there. That rank does not have any other subjective propagation. It is just a number in the list. No reason for that to have a potential use case.

Take for example BSV and other forked coins like ETC. They were made out of community demands. But are they of any use? Nope. But Why?

Because it is difficult and painful to make people accept and afford something that is difficult for them to understand. Crypto is not every person's cake. Most people cant understand how it works and it is a tough to make them understand.
5145  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What p2p games will you play? on: February 10, 2020, 07:11:34 AM
If you have noticed recently there was promotion about the P2P betting site related to binary trading (-snip-) it was stopped already and I guess only few are playing against each other. I have not see other p2p gambling sites but what sort of games do you think will work for p2p that you think you will play?
Well if that was binary trading, taking your word for it because I dont visit these sites at all, then it is not a P2P game. It is a another Market Vs Player game where you bet on the movements of a certain asset like bitcoin and predict its movements. It is basically another type of EV- gambling and is not comparable to the EV+ games out there like Poker and sports betting.

Point is that there is enough suspicion regarding these binary trading and options things to point them to be borderline scams. I am yet to find any honest person claiming that they made money from them unless they are getting paid to promote them.
5146  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Crypto 2020! Gains or Losses? on: February 10, 2020, 07:07:47 AM
We all have suffered losses in 2018 and 2019! But, finally 2020 comes with a ray of hope for Bitcoin holders!
How do you generalize the fact that everyone has suffered losses when you yourself claim to have made profit?  Roll Eyes

Quote
I already made a cool 3x from Jan 2020 through Binance and Bitmex.
Sure leverage trading is a good way to make money so what is the point? You are risking money to do a leverage trade and gambling on what a position for bitcoin to touch within a certain time frame. It is no different from gambling like a addicted dice roller. If someone is willing to make money from trading then they would go for spot trading and not leverage unless they have been doing it for a long time.

Stop trying to do shady business here luring noobs into PMing you when you try to sell them bullshit trading signals.
5147  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: StepChain on: February 10, 2020, 07:03:54 AM
Bounty campaign for StepChain has completed long ago. Buy why bounty hunters are still posting their posts now? Is it still continuing? Reply admin?
You should ask this to the admins directly on their telegram groups if you are looking to get an answer. The campaign might be going on behind the scenes or the bounty hunters are not reading, I will not go directly to the second option and make them look bad because that is what bounty hunters are good at : Not reading rules and topic updates. There is a possibility that the campaign is still giving out some incentives.

I dont think the bounty managers check other sections of the forum like this one so you probably would not get a straight answer except if a hunter themselves posts about it. Which is again rare because hunters also spam the forum instead of reading the topics in other sections.
5148  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: What are the most viral crypto projects on: February 09, 2020, 09:16:14 AM
Speaking of hype project I think BSV is one that and it is viral recently because it reached the top 5 ranking volume in CMC.
Reaching top five rank is not something means legitimacy which everyone should know. It is the result of their black PR methods and shills on different social media to misguide people. Even in this century people still have faith in someone who had no credibility instead of doing their own research. If not enough evidence is present about legitimacy then following a no-touch policy is still difficult for greedy people.

Quote
But yeah, it has a negative PR. There are a lot of criticisms against them and even one of the biggest trading company delisted BSV, Binance to delist BSV.
That is bad for the shills but what I mean by negative PR is a clickbait to make people think that something bad is going to happen so they get interested in reading it but the article is actually shilling about the project and nothing bad actually happens. This type of articles and videos on youtube have a good click:view ratio.
5149  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: who still use freebitco on: February 09, 2020, 08:53:54 AM
I've never been able to make any big bitcoin from the website and yet I heard good news from different users, just my luck or I'm doing something wrong?
LOL "Big" bitcoin? If you want big bitcoin amounts just buy them. Dont waste time on faucet hunting it is a waste of time in this era of 10k USD bitcoin price. Of course freebitco.in is a legit site and they have been running for several years now with a clean track record of paying out all winners. There is nothing wrong in your doing, you are just not lucky enough to win something big.

I was lucky enough to win the 200$ payout for the 10000 number roll one fine morning which I posted in this forum. You can find it here -
Got 200$ from Freebitcoin today morning, call that a BIG WIN

And they are also having a thread which listed all of lucky winners who got $200 or got second prize https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1850855.0
Yup and I was one of the first few posters in that thread Grin
5150  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Crypto Talk on: February 09, 2020, 08:47:12 AM
I agree the spam post there is very high but am sure the admins are working on payment, they can't be working for free, thus, they can as well exercise their work properly by kicking out spam posters,
It is a marketing method of yobit, the exchange behind this forum. They give warnings to the users and after a few months allow them to appeal and ban them again, this cycle continues. They run because they want the spammers to continue coming. Its like a compromise between spam and keeping the forum alive, which many times administration needs to do to keep the ship afloat.

Quote
I guess what am trying to say is the admins can put a little more effort to reduce spam post, majority of the spam there came from during the competition but even after that many user just don't put a little effort on their post, it is because the admins here together with some members are working hard to reduce spam is the reason we are experiencing such almost free spam environment, they can do same if they want to.
It is impossible for humans to fight spammers who are acting like bots. But thing is moderators there are probably paid well and have a lot of free time at hand to be constantly fighting spam. I mean I dont have so much time at hand so cant compare it. Of course this does not lead to anything productive from the forum.
5151  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling Site's Investing (Is it worth it?) on: February 09, 2020, 08:40:39 AM
When you made your investment back in 2016 how did you find out about it?
Did the site advertise they needed investments, where you referred by someone, did you come by it by accident...?
Another user on this forum had told me to visit the site and check out the less house edge compared to Primedice. So I did so and even though the site design seems much less attractive than PD, I was interested in the investment feature and used it than roll anything. I feel it is important for a bankroll investor to be a strict non gambler but should know clearly how the money is made and lost in gambling. Affiliate marketing and bankroll investment are the two important EV+ profit possibilities in a casino where other EV+ games not available.

-snip-
Its all good we are having a coffeeshop debate here after all, no hard feelings. Grin
5152  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling Site's Investing (Is it worth it?) on: February 08, 2020, 08:06:12 AM
It is enough to read comments in this thread to know that investing in a casino bankroll is very rare and I don't know personally any Bitcointalk member who actually did it.
Considering the fact that this section is heavily spammed by many users, I still feel sad that you did not read my post in the first page of this thread.

I just explained about my experience there even though I never call any such option as success, it was worth it. In case you missed it read it here and I will forgive you Cheesy - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5223846.msg53788695#msg53788695

Isn't investing in a bankroll the equivalent of gambling? Because if investors have to carry lose then most likely it's also a gamble.
Yes but dont forget that being an investor is the opposite side of the table. You are the house now, or a part of the house.

Quote
I have seen couple to casino who are giving opportunities to invest on bankroll and a return a percentage from their total house edge.
Actually they are very few. The casino also carries risk of the investors in case of bankruptcy. But again like I said in my previous post in this thread linked above, it is a long term investment if you want a decent ROI.

Quote
I didn't invested on such as platform. But if the platform is trusted enough then it would be a passive income for lazy people like me. So most important thing is how trusted your investing casino.
Wrong statement in the bolded part. If you are looking to make money from bankroll investing then you are not going to break even at short term or even long term. This is comparable to fixed deposit bank investment. It is a method to diversify your assets in different sectors one of them being bankroll of casinos. It should not be the only one if you are looking to make money, but a constant source of profit in a long term portfolio.
5153  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Crypto Talk on: February 08, 2020, 07:55:58 AM
i know the place is still new, but i expect the admins to do more to limit the number of low posters in there, too much of them can affect the entire platform and its purpose.
Meh the administration there is having a touch time keeping control of the spam. You dont want to be a moderator there unless you get paid a huge remuneration per week for that shitload of shitposting.

In my opinion if you are looking to get some quality posts bitcointalk is still the better place, even if we have problems with spam and shitposting the average quality has improved based on some studies done by the individual forum members. Compared to CT, we are at a much better position. even though some sections are a bit clogged with spam.

The quantity outweighs the quality on CT, no surprise there. Cheesy
5154  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: switch exchanges on: February 08, 2020, 07:52:18 AM
Can I receive BTC from an exchange (exchange ‘A’) with electrum wallet, and send the BTC to another exchange (exchange ‘B’)?

. . or does it have to be used with the same exchange where the BTC was bought?
You can also deposit on Exchange B from Exchange A using the deposit address of Exchange B as the withdrawal address of Exchange A when you cash out from there. But I would not suggest you to do this because there are some risks involved in this. It is always safer to first withdraw to the personal wallet and then deposit on the next exchange.

Like OSS said, bitcoins are not specific to a exchange and like DWM14 said, be careful about the SegWit/Non-SegWit wallet address and check which one is supported by Exchange B first before sending.
5155  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Be careful of the fake airdrops/giveaways on facebook on: February 08, 2020, 07:47:04 AM
Facebook is still a small place for scammers, have you done reach on many projects on twitter? there are hundreds of fake giveaways, startup projects roaming freely and waiting to trap innocent victims on twitter, its like a den of thieves
I think awareness and a mind to research with logical thinking can bust these scammers well ahead of time. For a start one can always assume that nobody gives out money for free. There is ALWAYS a catch in it whether you recognized it yet or not, there is always a catch. You cannot make money from thin air, it is not possible and the economy would collapse if that would happen.

Just like one should not trust a passerby with their change similarly one should not trust anyone on the internet with their money. Mostly newbies fall for these scams and in a way scammers make a good living from it.
5156  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: What are the most viral crypto projects on: February 08, 2020, 07:44:16 AM
Basically a project that "runs" on hype will go viral. But an even better method to make it viral is a negative PR. They will promote a project that one has never heard of in a sense as if the project owners/product are doing a bad thing. Because negative news draws more crowd than a positive news and functions as a perfect clickbait due to psychological factors they go viral way more. People will want to know more about it and there you have it, a unethical method/yellow journalism.

Personally no I havent seen any project go "viral" after that 2017 q4 pump during which some project did become big by riding the blockchain hype. But if some project is doing that then I would be sure to put a red flag on it.
5157  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: We are HIRING join to new global project !!!!!!! on: February 07, 2020, 11:46:16 AM
It would be better if you post about the project first before asking for people to join it. Do you have a Announcement thread here about your project or are you looking for someone to work that out too? Either way you would get more genuine and useful contacts here if you post about the project at least a little bit and the budget that you are willing to spend.

Without having posted a budget it would be a waste of time for anybody trying to make some money working on your "project". Wink
5158  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling Site's Investing (Is it worth it?) on: February 07, 2020, 08:49:37 AM
Bankroll investment IS a long term investment like more than 2-3 years is ideal.

I have tried the crypto-games bitcoin investment for 1year turning my 0.1 BTC to 0.15 BTC approximately leaving out the small withdrawal fee. This was back in 2016 when bitcoin price will still below 1k USD. So if you have some excess coins laying around in wallet and want to take the risk and allow them to grow a bit while you take a time out from trading on them then it is a good option to go for.

Possible risks are (in general):
1. Site goes out of business one fine day.
2. Site turns scam. Again this is a general risk. Crypto games is a very trusted site, but I am speaking in general.
3. Site bankroll robbery/hack
4. The coin you invested is not immediately divestable without a early withdrawal penalty fee.

Does a high roller matter to the investors? Essentially No. Because the long term simulation of any EV- game is profit for the casino/investors and loss for the players. Since you are in it for the long term, you are essentially covered from long term losses. On short term you may see some losses in balance sheet, but keep patience and you will see figures go up.
5159  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: to be able to get a large profit in today's trading is very difficult! on: February 07, 2020, 08:42:57 AM
It's wrong using altcoins to trade, they aren't that too great and reliable it's better to use bitcoin and one stable coin like TUSD or USDC as trading pair but alas there will be mistakes in predictions because no one can guarantee the movement of bitcoin
You are comparing it wrongly. There is bitcoin/USD trading and there is altcoin/bitcoin as well as altcoin/fiat (like USD) trading. Which one is good over other? Nobody can say. It is a personal preference.

Mistakes in prediction is not wrong, but natural. Although we always scorn people when they predict wrongly, it was always a prediction and not a fact. I do not understand the rationality behind blaming someone for their prediction. That is why such sites nowadays all have disclaimers to tell people to do their own research. Now if the prediction comes right then nobody praises the predictor but only look for their own gains. Such selfishness is seen with humans.

It is difficult to trade is such ways and so listening to someone's predictions like I said, is not the way to go. You have to do your own research and invest accordingly.
5160  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Using Crypto at Gas Stations on: February 07, 2020, 08:13:13 AM
Using mobile phomes near gas stations is not allowed, but i don't think it will cause a fire and a huge explosion in the gas stations because scientists and other shows in the televisions already proved that it is not dangerous to use mobile phones near a gas stations.
I see, lets hope that is true for now. Would need to do some more research on this though to ease the mind. Would be good if you could post some articles regarding this too. Smiley

Quote
Anyways, using crypto or digital currency as a payment method in gas stations would really be convenient for us because we don't need to wait for our change when making a payment. Long lines at the gas stations might decrease with the help of fast transaction of cryptocurrency.
Well think about the public who are using a gas station. We have the influential ones and we have the low income drivers of taxis so it is similar in terms of users for any other common commodity like grocery. What is mean is that every new entrepreneurship needs to evaluate the population that is going to use the service. Are they tech-savvy? If yes then the use could be big. If no, then there will be problems in marketing the service with proper income.
