5142  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Maximalism on: June 05, 2021, 12:14:51 PM
Long term? But look at the past 10 years. Altcoins have grown, prospered, and yes 99% die, but if you have 50,000 alts, that still means 50 survive and every cycle of Bitcoin prosperity like now sees 10,000 more alt projects come up. I don't think it'll ever be only Bitcoin. Already we see spaces filled with memecoins privacy coins and smart contract coins. Everyone can and will coexist.
5143  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Is Scalping even viable in Cryptocurrencies? on: June 04, 2021, 03:40:13 PM
Here's something I don't tell a lot of people. Every time I get USDT and I want to sell it, I always put a limit order sell, for a price just a few points off the current one.

It has always hit. So I try to sell for a higher price to cover my fees of exchange and withdraw. Always works. Takes time.

Imagine scalpers doing this every day constantly across exchanges.
5144  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Full of get-rich-quick opportunities at Bitcointalk on: June 04, 2021, 03:05:33 PM
It's never a bad thing to trust newly coins you know but make sure to DYOR first and even trace its history before deciding to invest. Get rich quick schemes are anywhere. They are just waiting for someone to fall for it. So be wise and smart so you won't end up losing all your capital and your expected profits.

It's seldom a good thing though. I would always say, online, approach everything with skepticism. And in crypto, double that down to cynicism. If it's too good to be true, it always is and crypto doesn't even promise the world, it can't even generally keep up on the small promises (Referring to altcoins).
5145  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Are the older Meme coins a good investment? on: June 04, 2021, 01:00:42 PM
I have been wondering the same also for a while actually, especially some of those old memecoins that did very well in the beginning. Pepecoin is the one that strikes me a lot but yeah, I know Litedoge for sure, and that's even a community from both DOGE and LTC, should have been a good one but seems like no movement?
5146  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is bitcoin the best one to invest in? Or am i too late? :( on: June 04, 2021, 11:51:18 AM
It's never too late in my opinion related to the price movements that are still naturally affected by many things, the opportunity is still there in terms of holding.
Bitcoin is still the best and certainly a big possibility or opportunity to move up again, there are still many things that can make it go up again, many people are also increasingly believing in bitcoin.

There's a market, there's always opportunity, that's true in bull or bear. I guess for OP the question is an age old one that everyone new to Bitcoin asks: is it too late? We probably also thought about it, I'm glad I decided it wasn't, and entered, and even though I wish I made more but I'm happy I got in when I did, and I'm sure anyone who gets in now will be too. It won't be tomorrow or even next year, but eventually:)
5147  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2020/21 on: June 04, 2021, 11:16:05 AM
Will be interesting if Ronaldo back to La Liga than League 1.
How about Barcelona, do you think Ronaldo and Messi have a chance in one season to be in the same team? It look funny, but it's still very unlikely.
Nah I don't think CR7 will be ever in Barcelona, they are suffering enough with huge salaries and Real fans will treat him miserably after being a legend there.
He will move to PSG or ManU. Possible scenario is him moving to Juve to replace Mbappe who will move to Real Madrid imo.

Love Ronaldo in some ways, of course as a Barca fan he's now the enemy, and I've always liked Messi better as a person (but I will point out despite how Ronaldo is on the field, he's a super nice guy to people around him so I always liked that too)... but no. They respect each other too much to ever play in the same team that is Real/Barca.
5148  Economy / Speculation / Re: Before Season Downtrend in 2018, What happened? on: June 04, 2021, 09:49:28 AM
what happened? of course before the downtrend everything disappeared, meaning the bulls have disappeared!,
then the bears come, whether this is coming the bears or the bulls are still holding on,
if you look at the pattern it looks like bearish will come, yes but I could be wrong, because bear traps can also happen

Actually, the bulls stuck around for a while as I recall, or rather, the shill bulls did. John McAfee remember, started charging people in 2017 and 2018 all the shit he did and he was still furiously pumping shitalts like Verge I remember very well, soon after Bitcoin had started to lose value after the almost 20k ATH.
5149  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sportsbet.io "Soccer Blackjack" @ 21.00 odds on: June 04, 2021, 09:11:45 AM
Hey, as long as it's a push I don't mind because games like this can sometimes be tricky and a bus can happen anytime. There are some WORLD CUP qualifiers right now and even tomorrow and some U21 games so I guess we might have some of this ones. Argentina - Chila in about 1 hour looks a game that I might bet for 17+ on individuals and Argentina to win ( corners , goals and yellows ) as Messi is surely playing and this might be his last cup in 2022.

I think the world cup qualifiers are quite later unless we go for the earlier games (but all are always going to be later for me haha). Hard to see the Latin American games being selected as those are even late for most people in Europe and Asia.

Brazil match looks very good to pick though so if that's it, we might have another crack at BJ:)
5150  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can BTC become the world central currency? on: June 04, 2021, 07:07:28 AM
to become a world currency, means replacing fiat currency. I think this is very difficult, we know that until now the government has not legalized it, maybe there are many considerations and calculating the advantages and disadvantages of BTC. and I think it is very difficult to equalize between poor, developing and developed countries

No it doesn't. US dollar is a world currency but it never needed to replace any other currencies. The same when China puts out digital yuan to be a world currency, it won't mean USD will disappear.

I think crypto people overestimated themselves and underestimated fiat when they said crypto would replace world money.
5151  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tennis League All Thread on: June 04, 2021, 05:54:09 AM
The favorites and old masters, Federer, Djokovic have advanced to the next round and Nadal also looks like he is climbing without any effort. He'll definitely whine a little that his backhand needs to be improved, but that's a high level whine.

Love this term, high level whine. We have a similar term which translates to "god problem" when we play football and someone scored a goal and he isn't happy because he should have slotted in further into a corner or shouldn't have headed so direct etc:) Looks like all the big guys are through setting up an exciting ending.
5152  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Can any one suggest best indicator for trading? on: June 04, 2021, 05:26:29 AM
I like RSI the most too as jackg explained, I like indicators but everything is done retrospectively, but sentiment is what seems to be more understandable to me. This means also following the Fear and Greed indicator along with RSI. It has not always been helpful in Elon territory though:)

One must be built different to watch this space, indeed;) The announcements come, and you have to speed over here to be the first;) But this means the thread is watched by a lot of people and why not, when the odds are so good:)

5154  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sportsbet.io "Blackjack Football Frenzy" @ 21.00 odds [Discussion thread] on: June 03, 2021, 03:49:33 PM
Have a feeling we will have a blackjack tonight. I had just about 1 mBTC on account collected from clubhouse reward to put on this one and was too lazy to deposit more. It will come back to bite me for sure Smiley

But if we get that both to score I will not complain too much since I am waiting for it on a nice multi ticket.

So far all the friendlies are so careful and not playing at all to their strengths (although last night we saw a couple of red cards from Romania and Wales, I think these were more careless fouls than mean-spirited challenges).

I think I forgot to claim my clubhouse rewards last month but I didn't lose much anyway and would have lost it betting on Netherlands.
5155  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How to earn some profit trading BTC on: June 03, 2021, 03:09:28 PM
So are people still using ByBit?  Grin

In any way, you are really pushing it to introduce "newbies" to Leverage trading and I will never recommend "newbies" to start with that type of trading. I will much rather introduce "newbies" to Spot trading, where they will get immediate delivery and where they can trade with lower risk. (debt trading can be a killer)  Tongue

In any way, your strategy will be best suited to a more experience Spot trader, than wants to dip his toes into something new and with a slightly higher risk.  Grin

I still see their ads a LOT on Etherscan so yeah I guess people still are using this. I mean, if they can afford to pay the huge PPC campaigns on that platform, and also on CMC I believe there are running campaigns there, then I suppose they must be able to still attract a lot of n00bs to the platform.
5156  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Discipline hodling altcoins in the face of challenges. on: June 03, 2021, 01:55:18 PM
being diamond hand DOESN'T mean stupidly holding by not regarding any problem you face, what most of people meant by weak hands in holding are those people who just follow the pump and dump scheme and fall into the trap not because they are in some financial problem but because they are being too greedy and can't endure the dumping.
If the problem is life threatening as you mentioned, and liquidating your asset could save you, it's a no brainer that you should do that, you can earn money any other time but if your life or well being is in danger, I doubt you can earn money the other day.

Diamond hands does mean holding no matter what though, and there is a fine fine line in crypto between stupidity and foolishness, or smart patience. Bitcoin proved diamond hands to be the latter but we can never really know until we get the wisdom of hindsight:)

I have been diamond bag holders for too many alts to count, for example:)
5157  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2020/21 on: June 03, 2021, 01:01:43 PM
All respect for him but I don't think this is the same guy from 15 years ago. Anyway, no worries, I should be happy as Barca.
Everton began the season very good with effects from James but he is similar to Metsut Ozil. They are not strong enough to play in Premier League. Generally, Everton have lower quality than Spurs.

I think Carlo Ancelotti is a good coach and is good for Real Madrid when they will have a transitional time with the old squad. Carlo has a good CV with club's Presidents and director boards. He has yet had serious conflicts with players in clubs he managed as well.

If Real Madrid want to have a normal season, no conflicts between players and coach, Carlo is a good option for them.

Never really watched him play so I'm not sure if I could make the comparison. Ozil was talented but he didn't seem to have the mental attitude to bring his physicality up to the levels required in England.

Ancelotti was well loved, and he is a fan favorite but it isn't always a happy reunion for managers who forgot the club is not the same one they left long ago. Still, best wishes.
5158  Economy / Speculation / Re: Everyone is fearfull. Someone said this is time to be greedy on: June 03, 2021, 11:58:51 AM
This trap is going to eat a lot of greedy inexperienced holders;)
It means there is a case to be made for people who just.. never sell? I mean people like me who rarely ever sells rarely ever loses money neither, I do not care if it is 30k and I do not care if it is 60k, I am just waiting until I am rich enough to retire and until that day I will not sell. Which means those "greedy" holders do not end up losing money as long as they do not sell under what they have bought it for and that is the thing that makes this much more fun.

For sure! I know I'm not the only one just hodling for long term almost as a kind of savings. Don't get me wrong, I don't believe all my eggs should be in one basket so I still have regular savings, but I try to also put in as much as I can into Bitcoin (not by buying but just keeping what I earn and selling only what I need).

I am not waiting to be rich, but I want to have something extra to fall back on if life goes bad.
5159  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Betting to Risk Free Fights on: June 03, 2021, 11:01:36 AM
Nothing is risk free in betting, unless there are terms and conditions of course;)

Stake for example right now has a risk free bet on UFC. Bet on one guy, and if he loses, you get your money back as a free bet (so okay not entirely risk free because you HAVE to spend that freebet on 2x to get it back in cash).

But Sportsbet have had promos for Euro where if you lose, your bet is Void (money back).
5160  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is the FUD starting to wear off? on: June 03, 2021, 06:57:39 AM
I was not referring to the current sideways trading but to the FUD cycle, as is the topic of this thread:)

I find it super boring because it's not even creative anymore, it's just the same old recycled crap on the same old unupdated and unresearched elements of the FUD.
You know FUD is like a book, it always have a revised edition, it has no end. It is just depends on a person if after he/she read the revised edition, then still believe it. Usually, newbies and weak hands are always the victim of FUD. However, it also has a positive impact on other investors because fud can make a dump of the market, a good time to buy and it is an opportunity that traders and investors have been waiting for.

I actually really hate revised editions of books. It's almost like a sign that they are worthless books. Dictionaries update, textbooks revise, but the content is more or less the same, although you tend to see big updates remove stuff or enter new stuff.

FUD is different. It's like there is a textbook and some people only found them later on and say wow I never knew this existed.

Like Elon and Bitcoin mining consumption. That was so funny to see.
