5141  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Amir Khan vs Kell Brook - Feb 19, 2022 on: January 31, 2022, 12:36:06 PM

Oh yes, if they provide entertaining fight, expect to have another money fight to whoever wins this fight. Though it's still depends on the outcome of this fight and we will wait to see if both former champs still have their fighting abilities to shine, for now, all will be judged when these two meet inside the ring and start throwing punches.

I do hope to see a toe to toe exchanges of punches to add up with the entertaining part of this sport, for sure fans will love to see that. Roll Eyes Wink
Even if we like to see a toe to toe fighting I don't think Khan is willing to engage Brook has a powerful right straight, Khan's advantage is his speed, the only way can win against Brook is to do hit and run just like he did against powerful puncher but this time he needs good stamina so he can run in the whole fight once he goes toe to toe Brook will work on his uppercuts, Brooks has done a lot of damage with his uppercuts on his past fights.

And ever since Amir Khan is already exposed that he has a weak chin, I don't he is that confident anymore to fight toe to toe exchanging blows. It is probably also advised from his team to avoid trading powerful blows with Kell Brook. Kell Brook has strong punches that could knock Khan out unconscious.

Of course I don't believe that Khan will just run and run the entire fight like Mayweather but I also don't think he will brawl as if he's got a chin of steel. He will probably just maintain a safe distance with his jabs.

He has to change his style, he cannot go toe to toe already knowing he has a weak chin. I think he has to improve a bit and be quicker so he can score and avoid getting KO by his opponent, I know he has some good talent in boxing, he can use that but like I said, he has to avoid to fight toe to toe, he has to be smart all the time, never use his emotion, instead, always stick to the game plan.

I'm thinking that other way around though. I think with this fight, a lot is at stake and I don't see Khan running away, but instead will go toe to toe and prove that he can still fight and beat his rival in Kell Brook.

So there will be times in the fight that he will brawl and then maybe can get successes. But Kell Brook has a good chin and again, if he touch Khan during that brawl, maybe Khan will go down or at least barely standing, just like in the Maidana fight
5142  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Thurman vs Barrios - Feb 5 on: January 31, 2022, 11:13:45 AM
I like the odds on Thurman by KO win. I think Keith will go for a big win here and show the world that he is definitely back. Sort of sending messages to the rest of the welterweight that he is back to reclaim his title (and this is what he is saying when he is being interviewed for this fight).

So it doesn't matter what round will Thurman get the KO, maybe it going to be in late rounds.
But still, it will be a hard fight in the beginning for him, a lot of adjustments and then if the KO is there, he will go for it.

It's somehow expected that Thurman will go berserk mode in either the middle rounds or late rounds because in the first few rounds he'll probably overcome the ringrust effect first before he can fight comfortably and confidently. But sure that won't be a problem to him as he's a former world champion. Both fighters are so dedicated and determined to win this match, they have their own reasons why and we probably know that already, anyway we will see it soon.

Not only that, but Thurman is a slow starter, just like in the Manny fight. He started very slow and then get's how in the mid rounds but it was not enough as Manny has build a good lead in the fight.

So we will see if he will change this (but I highly doubt it), and we all know that ring rust will play a big factor for him in this fight. So probably he will just coast early trying to shake his ring rust and then if he found openings in the middle rounds then he can go and start for there.
5143  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is El Salvador in debt because of the bitcoin price drop? on: January 31, 2022, 10:30:35 AM
I don't think so, it's a country and 400 bitcoin in my opinion isn't a lot of money that it can make a dent in their treasury to the point that they're going to resort to having debt or borrowing money to supplement what was left by buying those bitcoins, I mean bitcoin is probably just a small aspect of the money that El Salvador is being spent into so there's probably other things that have made their debt bigger but that doesn't mean that those bitcoin didn't play any role.

At the current price, it's more or less $15 million, so yes it's not a lot of money. If they invested like billions so that could be questionable and maybe they could really be affected by the price drop. We all know that it is a huge gamble for El Salvador's president, but it's a calculated risk. The rewards might not be seen today, but it could be the returns in the next bull run could be huge dividends and that is the time that we can say that his experiment has succeeded.
5144  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 NBA Season on: January 31, 2022, 09:30:43 AM
I blame Frank Vogel. He used to be one of my favorite coaches before this year, but he’s absolutely terrible for the Lakers. A team with 5 hall of famers and Malik Monk is leading them… Dwight Howard playing at a top level and getting next to no minutes is downright disrespectful. If Frank Vogel is still the Lakers coach after the all star break then I’ll be shocked. He’s a great guy and like I said one of my favorite coaches, but he’s got to go if the Lakers want to have a chance of getting beyond the first round of the playoffs, and to be honest if he’s the coach I don’t see them getting past the play-in game.

I'm not sure why Vogel even deserved the credit for the Lakers winning.

Maybe they are still giving him the chance now because of the championship he brought to the Lakers in the bubble.

But yeah, it's definitely time to swap him out for someone else with fresh ideas and a better leader in my opinion. It's not an easy job and definitely not for anyone so the Buss family needs to choose wisely.

But honestly, the championship chances with LeBron at the helm is slim - he is aging at the end of the day.

True, I doubt that the Lakers could won the first round of playoffs if ever they qualify for this season. Maybe his system is no longer working and iits time for the Lakers to have a fresh start with no coach.

As for Lebron's chances, definitely gonna hurt him this season. At the beginning they are the favorite to win the championship but look at where they are right now.
5145  Local / Pamilihan / Re: NBA discussion, betting and etc. on: January 31, 2022, 03:02:50 AM

5146  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Casimero vs Butler ordered by WBO on: January 30, 2022, 02:40:52 PM
Now we can talk about betting again, hoping for the fully recovery of Casimero since I’m rooting for him and I still want him to see fighting Inoue after this match.

For betting, we will not see a good odds for Casimero as he is a champion.

I hope betting to him by Decision or Knockout will have a good odds so while we are cheering for Casimero, we will also have a chance to win a good amount in return.

Casimero @ 1.5 vs Butler @3 will be my odds speculation on that fight.

I speculate that it might be lower than that, so yeah, I agree with most posters that it's not worth to bet on the ML line for Casimero.

But for sure there will be other betting options for us and that's where the money is. And if you are really lucky betting on the exact round to which Casimero might win, it will be huge win.
5147  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: More DeFi Drama: Wonderland co-founder turns out to be convict and scammer on: January 30, 2022, 11:53:51 AM
I don't know why they think they can give this guy a second chance?

And since he is exposed already, I do hope that their projects will simple die. I mean there's no room for this kind of people. They have been proven scammers, they take people's money enjoy it and now trying to make another run out of unsuspecting victims.
5148  Economy / Speculation / Re: Prediction: Low was $34K or will be ~$25K on: January 30, 2022, 10:08:23 AM
I think $25k will be a good buy option, its just a question on when we are going to hit that price.

If people are going to wait, then probably this price will not be touch in the next couple of months. If people are buying even at the current price, then definitely we will not hit ~$30k. So hard to see what will be the floor prize at least for this year. So let's wait till April or at least the end of first quarter, lots of things could be in store for us, so better expect the unexpected.
5149  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Errol Spence Jr vs. Yordenis Ugas 3-Belt Welterweight Unification Match on: January 30, 2022, 09:18:56 AM
We are thrilled that manny has agreed to go ahead and Ugas has gone ahead to defend his title who once held the title. Ugas had co features and was preparing to fight on this date so he was ready. This is a big challenge as he now has to defend his first title against the boxing legend in a career defining fight. Ugas is prepared to take on this challenge I have worked hard and I know together that to fight against anything that manny will bring to the ring.
For me it's too early for Ugas to challenge Errol Spence, even he has beat Pacquiao but it's not enough. Ugas mostly play defensive and it's really bored to watch, while Errol Spence can play both offensive or defensive. Both of them ever fight with Porter in the same year (2019) the result Spence win while Ugas lose, it was a close fight against Spence but Ugas doesn't gave a good fight.

For me Spence will still undefeated, until he fight with Crawford... it will be 50/50.

If it's too early, then who would he challenge? I guess there's no other fighter that he could challenge to prove himself, it's either Spence or Crawford and I think here he is taking one step at a time, if he wins here, that will be the biggest win of his boxing career as he will be a unified champion.

I think Ugas has been calling many fighters but they don't want to face him. So it's good that after beating Manny, he will have to face another champion in Spence. So both have the belts, and this might be the winner facing Crawford next for unification. Others have expecting Spence to win here so that we will see a mega fight in the future: Crawford vs Spence Jr for the title of the best welterweight.
5150  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: January 30, 2022, 07:11:43 AM
We won the Grizzlies bet but unlucky for me with my 76ers bet as the Kings gave them a hard time in the first half. Joel Embiid though managed to make a strong run in the 2nd half and squeezed a win.
I just dodged a bullet taking a bet for GSW. Even in live betting, I cannot see an opportunity to insert my support for the team. -8.5 was there for a long time even when Nets was on the lead before the end of the first half. Just went for overscore instead.

Just surprised that the Nets was able to come back in this game.

It's because the Nets makes a huge comeback in the 3rd quarter as well. They even took a brief 3 point lead in the 4th.

The last time I checked the score was 70-51 Warriors leading in the 3rd quarter with 7 minutes to go. It's good that your live betting didn't went it, it happens to me sometimes as the odds changes very quick and then the line open and closes very fast as well. Going back to the game, it was just 4 point win for the Warriors? And Curry just scored 19 points?

Curry didn't have double digit score in the 1st half as it was Wiggins who took the scoring load. But when the game somewhat become close, he hit some crucial three point and so is Klay Thompson. So still a a Curry + Thompson in the end to close out the show.
5151  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: top holders on: January 29, 2022, 01:35:52 PM
Only shitcoins have huge percentage holding by top holders, this is a game of death for real  Grin I exited a meme token because of this an few days later these whales started selling and the price was greatly affected, equally distribution of tokens brings balance to a project and erase the fact that one person can crash the whole project value just by selling his or her bag

So got lucky and exited on time bro, if not, they you could be the next victim of whales trying to manipulate the price of a shitcoin and meme coins. And right, this is a dangerous game that we are in because of this one. For us small and average joe investors, it's a game of death because we are putting our hard earn money and gambling it to make profits. But if this whales are playing, the whole game will change and to their advantage.
5152  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 NBA Season on: January 29, 2022, 12:57:39 PM
Heat will win this, I also favor them to win on their home court, however, the betting line or the point spread is very high, I think the Clippers will be able to cover it as they are still very competitive despite losing their 2 all stars (Leonard and George).  I know I will enjoy watching this game, I hope my expectation that it will be a close game will happen.  Smiley

Yeah, the Heat looks clearly the favorite in this match. However, there are rumors that Butler is questionable tonight. So it might be a close game if he doesn't play. It's also worth noting these teams have already faced each other this season, and the Clippers showed that they can beat the Heat.

I also read about that too, this season is really interesting because there's more factor we need to consider before we bet on our desired team as we can't know for sure in advance who will play. Rumor has it that Butler won't be around against the Clippers as he's still undergoing some recondition, I suppose. But he played and lead the game today together with Bam Adebayo while taking the advantage that the key players of Clippers is not around and he made 26 points

Final score: MIA 121 - 114 LAC

He did, but it was still a close game and I'm impressed with how the Clippers are playing so far. They don't need a star player like PG, they are playing well as a team, it's just unfortunate that they don't have enough talent to compete against a top team like the Miami Heat.

So they still need PG13 though, I think he is the heart of the team. Reggie Jackson is good but he doesn't have the clutch that George brings to the team. And they are in a roller coaster ride since George went down, in short they are inconsistent. Just like in today's game, when you think they will at least have a good chance, they fell short.
5153  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin to hit $100k? on: January 29, 2022, 11:49:47 AM
So we might as well look at the next bull run to see and materialized a $100k or higher price. By the looks of the current movement, we are in the bearish cycle already.
Even in the next bullrun, there is no guarantee the price of Bitcoin to reach $100k. So, don't expect too much $100k, better to set your goal for a realistic price. To be honest, I am no longer expecting the Bitcoin price to achieve $100k, especially this year. I don't know whether we are in the bearish market or not, but the price must take a very long time to achieve $100k. It is only a dream to expect Bitcoin price of $100k this year, just forget it.  Tongue

For me there is no other price but $100k target for the next bull run, or least the price could land to 6 digits. The bull run in 2017 ended up in around $20k, and in 2021 its about $69k. So you do that math for the next great bull run. So there's no wrong of expecting a $100k maybe 2024-2025? Still a long way to go but hey, we can prepare right now and stack up sats just to set up everything and prepare for the future runs, just saying.
5154  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: January 29, 2022, 11:17:55 AM

Bucks vs Knicks, The Bucks needed a win to snap their losing skid right now and the Knicks might be a perfect victim. And it will be in their homecourt so I guess -9.5 for the Bucks in this game.

The line is really too high considering that the Knicks is a decent team. But I like the line, it tells us to bet on the Knicks but what would happen in this game is that the Bucks will dominate them and win by more than 10 points, I hope my expectation will come into reality.

I'm with you mate, though the spread was pretty high, I'm still confident that the Bucks could defeat the NY Knicks for more than 10 points tomorrow and I have faith that they will bounce back in their own homecourt after their huge loss against the Cavaliers with 16 points.

Bucks will try to bounce back after that loss from the Cavs,

Taking the risk for the handicap might be challenging, but we know that Bucks can really cover this if they have
a good run during the game.

If still the combination of Giannis, Middleton and Holiday jive a good blend, it's worth the risk sparing some
coins in this game, Best of Luck!

Congratulations mate, and to all who put their bets on the Bucks. Surely it wasn't an easy handicap but luckily they've defeated the NY Knicks and managed to score 123 points with a 15 points difference.
As expected, Giannis led the game and made 38 points alone with ofcourse the help of Middleton and Holiday who also managed to contribute a total of 44 points.

Yes, it was a good game for the Bucks, Giannis another monster game and then Middleton was quiet early scoring just 9 points at the half but then finished the game with 20. And then Holiday, not just scoring by orchestrating the offense with 10 assists. So at least they are now back in winning form, good for 4th place in East.

@mirakal - congrats bro, no know the drill, will tail you again in our local thread, hehehe.
5155  Local / Pamilihan / Re: NBA discussion, betting and etc. on: January 28, 2022, 05:23:44 PM

Best of luck sa akin. hehe.

So goodluck na satin dalawa ngayon hehehe.
5156  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Why people keep "investing" money in shit/memecoins? Genuine question. on: January 28, 2022, 01:06:09 PM
It is something that bugs me till today. Are they mostly newbies trying to find a path to enter cryptouniverse or experienced people who are just gambling to score a moonshot on luck?

This is the "meme" rank on coinmarketcap, there's millions on deflationary tokens with no effort from the "devs" at all. Just copy/paste a code, copy/paste a whitepaper, eventually pay few bucks for a domain and that's it.
Why people fall for that, yet?

Those who have invested on them are inexperience or who think that they can be crypto millionaire instantly. Just like what happen to the hype on Doge coin because of Elon Musk, many job on the bandwagon, pushing the price to ATH. And then those who are smart exited with profited and those who are inexperienced are left out and think that it can still go up. But they are trap inside and the only way to get out is to suffer some losses. So that's inexperience for you. A gamble that they could have won if they know what they are doing.
5157  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Thurman vs Barrios - Feb 5 on: January 28, 2022, 12:38:38 PM
Seems Thurman is 100% ready in this fight. As per his interview:

Quote
What do you have in your sights for 2022?

“I want my world titles back. This is the first step to putting myself back in championship contention. I see the welterweight division like a horse race. Everybody is running full-speed trying to get to the finish line -  and the finish line is where you are crowned king of the division.

https://www.boxingscene.com/thurman-i-skills-reclaim-my-number-one-spot-147--163717

And from his own words, he wanted his title back, meaning he will contend to fight the best in this division. With the likes of Spence, Crawford and even Ugas, the welterweight division is pretty much on fire right now.
5158  Economy / Economics / Re: One nation one currency... on: January 28, 2022, 11:50:53 AM
From the beginning of humans, we have created boundaries between ourselves by lots of conflict over the century. Our greediness and eagerness for more power make us intelligent animals. Humans are capable of their own destruction. But what if those never happen? what will be the scenario of the current world if there is only one nation and one currency and humans invest their full strength for human resource development and the development of science and technology? What do you think is that even possible in the future and what will be the benefits and inconvenience of it?

I do think that this is possible and hope humanity can reach to have only one country with one currency. This would also mean to have only one government that takes care of all the people in the world. As long as that one country is based upon freedom and equality it should be the goal. The biggest hurdle to reach that a world is religion in my opinion. Religions are different all around the world, people pray differently and have different customs, and every religious person says that his god is the real one. Too many wars have been fought in the name of God. We need equality for the world to work together. The more technology advances the less religious people there will be. In a few hundred years we could have only one country on earth with one currency.

With all the conflicts around the globe right now? may it be political, or religion I doubt that we will have hope on humanity to reach an agreement and have one country with one currency. It will take a great deal on the leaders around the world to unite and form this one. Even in the UN and other governing bodies, like G7 there is already conflict and back stabbing, so this is not a viable proposal in my opinion.

How on earth that you afford to Keep holding mate? meaning you are a wealthy person that denies taking your big profit because you can still afford holding while you are one to be considered as Early Adopter ?

Man you are so great and this post is worth sharing, How i wish i have the guts to do how you portray your role being a Bitcoin Holder.

I'm not rich but at the same time I'm confident that I may never win the lottery, so BTC is my only chance to become rich and live a worry free life so until I see it happening won't sell a bit Smiley

Good mindset mate, I think I will go with it and hopefully I can be a good holder just like you.

Yep for those who are thinking of hitting a lottery, the chances are slim. So instead, it's better to invest on bitcoin, by all means possible, DCA or if you have capital from time to time and then just hold and protect it in your wallet. Maybe a good wallet like a hardware wallet will be a good one if you are thinking of doing what @virtualdn has done in the last 109 years.
5160  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: January 28, 2022, 04:45:05 AM
Everyone seemed to be trusting the 76ers here to win. Well, as I always said, I still don't like the Lakers due to inconsistency, therefore I will also fade them tonight and go with the 76ers -4. Good luck everyone, let's win tonight.  Smiley

No LeBron tonight makes that a pretty good move. I’m still trying to decide if I want to bet against the Lakers or not. Surely seems like the right move. Might have to take a quick look at the odds before the game starts here in a few minutes. I honestly don’t think the Lakers can beat them without LeBron or AD, especially if Howard isn’t going to be getting minutes. Seems like a no brainer, but after yesterday’s no brainer worked out, I feel like this might be a gamblers trap. LOL, if there is such a thing. Still, Sixers got this… Maybe I will toss a few sats at them.

I wasn't aware that Lebron is not going to play, but I still have the Sixers with a handicap win so I guess everyone is happy in riding with the Sixers.

The Warriors vs Wolves game is still close though, I have -6.5 but they just lead by 5 points in the middle of the 3rd quarter. And the Warriors are strong in the 3rd quarter so I'm expecting that they are going to close it out with a good lead or at least have the handicap already.
