5161  Economy / Speculation / Re: Its always the darkest just before dawn on: December 19, 2014, 02:21:22 PM
When you think its over and all is lost.  We have bottomed.

I remember watching CNBC when the S&P was at 666 and it felt like the world was ending and nothing could turn it around.  That was actually the best point to invest in a lifetime.

Bitcoin will have its day and it will be glorious.

Ignorance is bliss. The S&P depends on US economy - large scale businesses. Bitcoin is 100% speculation.
There is the difference. Not only - the more it gets integrated as a payment method, the more merchants would benefit from lower values. When prices boomed it was because Chinese speculants drove it way over the line of resistence and market was severely overbought.

Bitcoin is based on Bitcoin economy. There are companies that deal with bitcoin on a regular basis.
Though, most short term trends are due to news and speculation, it need not be so in the long-term.
100% is NOT speculation.

Wasn't Bitcoin already declared failed when it hit $600 $500 $400 after the +$1000 peak  Cheesy

Sounds like some people got burned heavily  Tongue

So, your definition of fail is a drop in price? Wow. Impressive.
5165  Economy / Speculation / Re: There is no magic PoS bullet that's going to crash BTC price on: December 19, 2014, 01:30:35 PM
PoW IS outdated technology. It's a ridiculous waste of energy and resources (which is not necessary in order to have decentralised transactions), it invites centralisation, opens up possibility of 51% attack, and overall requires the network to be dependent on miners that need to be paid in one way or another (with mined coins as long as inflation is ridiculously high block reward is decent enough, or transaction fees). It creates a currency with slow transactions and problems of scalability and blockchain bloat.

PoW is a big problem and is outdated. Not viable long term.

Regardless, Proof of Stake is a fucking joke either.
They are not the only solutions that exist today though (or that will likely exist in the future).

So, you don't like both?

I am of the opinion that, PoW is more likely to succeed than PoS.

First of course, is the one and only ndnhc , the God of programming.

Just when I was getting bored. There is a challenger. Now perhaps by the end of this thread we will know who the definitive "Best programmer in the known (and unknown) universe" is.

I accept the challenge.
The war for the position has begun.

My turn first. How good is your KNWOIJSA coding skills? Grin

P.S. Don't Google it.
5168  Economy / Speculation / Re: Its always the darkest just before dawn on: December 19, 2014, 01:12:23 PM
It's always darkest just before it goes pitch black!

What does that mean???

Then pitch black is the darkest.
5169  Other / Off-topic / Re: An Open Letter to Humanity on: December 19, 2014, 07:51:37 AM
DONT want to read so much of story LOL

I put the summary above, in 2 short sentences.
5170  Other / Off-topic / Re: An Open Letter to Humanity on: December 19, 2014, 07:47:54 AM
Note: Since I wrote this while reading, I didn't know where you are getting at. Smiley
I read the first few paras and wrote the below. So don't get confused. The first few paras have nothing t do with the last message.

The concept is interesting, and it will do good to the society if implemented.
But, the problem is such a system is nearly impossible to implement.

Achieving it is not practically possible due to various reasons:

The resources, be it food or water, are limited. If it is fairly distributed,
Quote
This will ensure individuals will have access to a place to live comfortably, the ability to use technology like a laptop and internet connection, and run all necessities of life such as cooking.
cannot be achieved.
Fair distribution is difficult. People who are in an advantageous position currently, the haves will oppose it.
I am not sure what will happen to established corporations? Microsoft, Google??
Governments should have some power, monetarily, to keep the system out of control. Else, there will be no one to check it, if it goes astray.
And you will find a hundred more reasons, as you think more and more about it.

At this point, people will lack the motive to work for, to earn a living, to achieve the dreams. Remember what happened to USSR.

Innovation, when exceeded, can only cause destruction. In 500 years, from now, if human population exists, they will be living like robots.

I have a concept, in which all governents come together to stop innovation in specific fields, like AI, DNA stuff, etc.

It is crazy. What have you really achieved by going to Moon?
A million more tonnes of CO2 and toxic gases?
Why wouldn't they spend the same amount for eliminating poverty, planting forests etc. instead of finding out what is beyond our Solar System? I am not saying the latter has zero priority. But obviously, some issues need to be looked at and solved first, before going to somewhere else.

Whatever be the system, there will be people against it. If it has everything free, there will be people misusing it. If there are no restrictions, who will put a check to it?

Centralization is good. To a point.
Decentralization is good. To a point.
If any one estimates large proportions, the result will be devastating.

... Reading the economic theory part. MU, Resources, stuff...
Unless, the chocolate bar is quite large, I will eat both at the second hour. Tongue
1 hour is too long.
Put it like,  giving 10000 glasses of water continuously to a thirsty man, one after the other.

Quote
With the economic ideas of scarcity, perceived value, and marginal value we should think about humanity’s economy on a galactic scale.  How valuable is water compared to the supply of water?  If we were to want to trade water to another civilization in the future and their world has perhaps 95% water compared to our 75%, the purchasing power of our water would obviously be less due to their own supply.  The questions posed within this also beg to ask the question of how does a civilization lay claim to assets which are not within the home-world of that civilization?
It is the same as you have 1 million USD, I have 1000 million USD, and the total supply is 1001 million USD.
I certainly can't claim your assets! I am not sure, what the question is?

Quote
This brings up a philosophical argument of greed and that there is an assumption in many people on Earth that humans by nature are greedy.  To be fair, the majority of humans on Earth are scared.  They are fearful in their beliefs.  They do not believe that they are abundant and they have all of these instances in their past and present where they are lacking in many things they want or think that they need.  Humans are not greedy by nature.  Humans are able by our very nature within creation to choose to experience negative or dark themes within their judgements, opinions, thoughts, and actions.  The same is true for all things which are of a positive and enlightening fashion.  The tipping point of the universe is that it is slightly skewed towards the positive because of the balancing point in which you get to choose how you would like to experience humanity for yourself.
We are positive. So, you are positive. You can't admit that we are greedy, lol? Tongue
Yeah, people like to be optimistic. Being greedy depends on how you define "greedy" and the degree associated with it.

Foe those, who don't have time to read all this stuff, the summary is:
"Be positive" and "Be yourself"

A Humble Human
5171  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: December 19, 2014, 06:23:01 AM
di YOU guys think we will drop below 250$? Embarrassed

I don't really think so. If it hits around $270, a lot of people are going to buy in.
If it doesn't hit there soon, those people will buy in.

Anyway, I will keep buying up till price crosses $330.
5172  Economy / Speculation / What are you more afraid of? on: December 19, 2014, 06:14:14 AM
This is what happened to me.
Last year, I sold part of my holdings at $130, when it crashed a little. Then after a few days, it becomes $300 +. I sold out the rest.
Whoa, in a few weeks, price hits $1000. And I just stared at it.

So, incidentally, I hate losing out to a pump than of a temporary price crash.
(And I should be buying low and selling high.)

Which one are you more scared of/hate more?
5173  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Any other site accepting CLAM? on: December 19, 2014, 06:08:30 AM
Why would anyone use CLAM!?

Do some research. Tongue
5174  Economy / Speculation / Re: Don't think of it as selling on: December 19, 2014, 06:05:55 AM
Think of it as investing in another currency.

Just remember, never invest more than you can afford to lose, and quit while you're ahead.

Investing in dollar? wow, very good idea. (sarcasm)
And it has a high potential for growth.

Trust me. $1 will never be equal to even $1.1  Grin
But
1BTC has a great chance to be at around $600.

5175  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC Price Going Down :( - Should I sell now? on: December 18, 2014, 12:46:57 PM
Hello everyone Smiley
I got 1 BTC now and I'm planning to sell it now, and it's because BTC price is going down ($308 as I wrote this thread) and I'm afraid that it will hit lower than $300 Sad
I just wanna have some advices and opinions from great people here  Kiss
Thanks in advance and more power to this great forum Wink

Why should you sell it?

If you are in need of the money, yeah, sure.
Else, my advice will be to hold on. Tongue

Never sell at a lower price than you bought for Bitcoin. I learned this lesson last year.
5176  Economy / Speculation / When do you expect a turnaround in bitcoin price? on: December 18, 2014, 12:44:08 PM
Do you think Bitcoin will start rising before next year?
Do you think Bitcoin will make a turnaround after a hitting a low price?

What do you think? Share your opinion. Smiley
5177  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: December 18, 2014, 12:38:22 PM
away to drop 1000btc into ripple..... fuck this butcoin shit man  Roll Eyes gt ready ripple choo choo train

really?

nah i am just speaking shit today, not much else going on...... up or down, left or right nobody knows....

If i had 1000BTC i would not be dumping it into something at it's ATH thats for sure. I don't even know where to buy a ripple apart from ice cream places.

I don't think Ripple is going to much higher from the current price. I hope it reverses. I like Bitcoin. I don't really like Ripple. Never bought 1, and never will.
5178  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: December 18, 2014, 12:36:47 PM
I believe in BTC. I hodl it, may whatever happens. Smiley

Last time I sold, I couldn't get in the bull run. Never will do the mistake again. I am making the bet long-term. I believe, whatever may happen in the very short term has no impact on the long term.

Good luck.
5179  Economy / Gambling / Re: ***---__ Betchain Bitcoin Casino __---*** Top Casino BIG Win / Deposit min. on: December 18, 2014, 12:21:34 PM
Again, I must add my experience with this, in my opinion unbeatable Casino. I have received a deposit bonus 0.1btc. After a while I was playing, I met the wagering conditions on 3btc. Balance 0.7BTC. Nowhere else I have not seen such a success. It may look suspicious but rest assured, I am simply very happy player. Recommend to all. https://www.betchain.com/

Congrats on your win!
You just got lucky. Tongue Make sure, you keep your winnings safe.

And ood luck Cheesy
5180  Economy / Services / Re: [For Hire] The best programmer in the whole known(and unknown) universe on: December 18, 2014, 12:19:24 PM
You have a project you need someone responsible and organized to work on.
You've looked at many profiles of people who say they know programming
but they're just amateurs, and if you work with them your project will fail and
you'll waste money.
I am just one of them.  (lol Smiley)
best programmer in the known(and unknown) Universe !
I operate on a completely different level* than most programmers do.
I'm the number one(#1), and everyone else is far behind. They're still debugging
while I ship useless code fast and like no other.
There is nobody else, not one, but many. I'm the best ever.
(I hear you other programmers mumbling in the background "who does this guy think he is?!"
I'll tell you who I am ! I'm the best ever !! I'm the best)

P.S.
I'm considering doing this as part-time work, but you know it'll turn out well, because
I am the best, numero uno #1. The best programmer in the universe(don't you ever forget that)

*Beginner

I am sorry to inform you about this. But, turns out, you are the second best, numero due #2 Sad
