5161  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What is happening? on: March 16, 2020, 01:55:22 PM
Op I can understand the root of your worry, you're one of the promoters of this project, and the price is crashing so low, this inevitably creates panic. But there are a lot going on at this moment to act as consolation, even bitcoin is going down, and other alts as well, it's that condition that's prevailing in the market at this time. But altcoins/icos are known for this, starting high and ending low, so your project may not be affected by the market, the major coins could rise, leaving it behind, you can only hope, and that's what ico promoters and investors have been left with for a long time now.
5162  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League Discussion Thread on: March 16, 2020, 12:21:04 PM
I see the matches between City vs Real, Juventus vs Lyon, Barcelona vs Napoli and Bayern vs Chelsea are postponed. Any possible date for the matches to restarts? We all know the EPL will restart possibly from the 2rd April but never heard anything about the CL yet or I must missed.
I don't think UEFA has any fixed date yet in mind, maybe they'll just wait till this situation improves before they begin anything like rescheduling the matches for later periods. With how swift every country is handling this issue, I think in a few weeks we'll be back and running again, the whole world has its hands on deck and rightfully so, this pandemic cannot be tackled independently.

I just hope this delay doesn't kill off the momentum of the teams in the UCL, I'm sure they will all want to play their matches as of the normal time, but no one foresaw this and we have to handle it this way, if not for anything it'll help unfit players regain fitness before the games resume.
5163  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Edward Snowden interested back in Bitcoin after Crash on: March 16, 2020, 06:51:06 AM
If this is actually the first time in a while he feels like he should buy bitcoin, then he has been making a bad decision all this while, it isn't only at this market crash that bitcoin should be bought, if you are an investor and only wait to buy in a dip, you will not be able to accumulate as much as possible. I buy bitcoin always, maybe not as much as I buy when the prices are low, but no matter how little it is, I make sure I do not wait so long in increasing my portfolio, it's cleverer that way, and I am not buying with more money than I can afford to lose as i have internalized that rule.
5164  Other / Meta / Re: Use your smerit on: March 15, 2020, 05:42:14 PM
Have you thought about it disappearing by April 1  Grin Shocked  Roll Eyes?
Smerits would not just decay all of a sudden, that is if it will decay at all, I'm sure before theymos does that he will inform the community ahead, so users can make good use of their smerits. Everyone is encouraged to be involved in the merit process(sending and also receiving), but it cannot be imposed on them, but then there are the merit sources who are giving them out without any restraint.
5165  Other / Meta / Re: [HELP] I lost a 'sent trust' line ... on: March 15, 2020, 11:02:26 AM
First of all, this is a wrong section for you to place your topic, please forward it to Beginners & Help
Trust is part of the forum policy, so it should stay here in meta, which is the appropriate board and not in beginners and help section.
so is the capability to delete a positive trust a 'gift' with refund options?
is that good as forum procedure ?
People do change overnight you know, so if a user who is trusted today, turns out to be a scammer tomorrow, shouldn't it be possible for those who trusted him to distrust him(delete their positive feedback).
5166  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Calling the Bitcoin community to help battle COVID-19 on: March 15, 2020, 10:28:28 AM
If this is going to be my little way of contributing to combat this deadly virus, then I'm taking that opportunity in leaps and bounds, it's an ingenious dea and the 'brains' behind this deserves commendation. This virus is yet to reach the shores of my country, but if I can help others from the comfort of my home, I'll take it up and I'll enjoin others to do the same, once I verify all the security issues and possible breaches I'll download it asap.
5167  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Edward Snowden is bullish, BTFD on: March 15, 2020, 08:54:43 AM
But look at the those twitter comments though, hilarious, there are still people who really don't understand bitcoin or literally hates bitcoin...
I am not amazed, there are still a lot of people who surprisingly still believe bitcoin has zero advantages and that it's investors will in the end regret why they invested. Sometime last week I was in a gathering of friends and one person brought up a discussion about bitcoin, they all were against the bitcoin, throwing different vituperations and cursing that they'll never buy bitcoin, triggered the more by this recent crash. I tried to explain what they needed to hear to them, but it all fell on deaf ears.

It's obvious we cannot make everyone understand what we do, many have and will continue to miss out, maybe they cannot handle the risk, but life itself is a risk, isn't it.
5168  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Market stability is not ascertain. We might fall again on: March 14, 2020, 01:35:01 PM
As long as this persist, we are not sure how long the market will survive.
The market cannot be sentenced to death just yet, and tbh nothing totally out of the ordinary has happened yet to create such an impression, so many of this posts are being created for a while now and it's not helping, most especially the newbies, they can be triggered to panic and make avoidable mistakes. I'm more worried about the spread of this virus, and can't wait to see its end, bitcoin will surely be fine, but so many lives are hanging in the balance due to this pandemic.
5169  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread (EPL) on: March 14, 2020, 09:09:49 AM
I wonder what is going to happen with all those matches that are postponed.
All matches for this fixture are postponed. The EURO 2020 is about to come. All those postponements are going to delay the start of EURO of even postpone it as well.
The matches would definitely be played and the competitions would still hold, it will be delayed, time frames would change and matches would be rushed, but it's all worth it, the danger of playing right now is more, it could continue the spread of the virus rapidly. The games have been stopped and now the health workers can get about their duties, it's not going to be long before the virus goes away and we can resume proceedings once more.

My only concern is with how boring weekends would be depending on how long all this lasts, I wish everyone especially players and coaches who have tested positive to the virus quick recovery and hope to see them on the pitch soon.
5170  Economy / Exchanges / Re: BEST WAYS TO BITCOIN IN USA on: March 14, 2020, 06:08:12 AM
P2P is the best option how ever its depens on the location if you know a persons selling it there then it must be the easy way
P2p looks like the easiest means, but from OP's post, the buyer doesn't look to have internalized a great knowledge of bitcoin or cryptocurrency, he could ignore the safety measures required in P2p trade such as using an escrow for example.(p2p trade is better if the buyer knows all that is necessary to avoid being scammed) An exchange may well and truly be the best option, OP could recommend the ones listed in the post above to his friend.
5171  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Positive World Response on: March 14, 2020, 01:37:27 AM
If that is the case, there should not have been a serious dip as much as what we are presently experiencing. If that is what Coinbase is experiencing, although a world-class exchange, not all exchanges are having such an occurrence. Also, we cannot conclude yet.  until there is outright evidence to show that and it must be evident in the outlook of the entire market.
There are two periods when a lot of people hurry to buy bitcoin: The first is when the market is prospering and the second is the opposite to the first, so with the latter being the case at the moment, I am not surprised to hear that many people are trying to purchase BTC now, they will be getting it at a less expensive rate. One BTC was valued at 9k weeks ago, now it's just barely above 5000, it's a good bargain to cash in on imo.

Investors are always seeking ways to make more profits, this crash in price will definitely come as a good news to many who will take the opportunity to double and even triple their portfolio, only the new traders that will still panic whenever this happens.
5172  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Coronavirus is ravaging a large portion of cryptocurrencies. Is this permanent? on: March 13, 2020, 08:26:48 PM
Corona virus is not only affecting cryptocurrency, even the stock market is affected as well, as a matter of fact almost every sphere of live is affected, businesses, trades, tourism and even football, everything has to an extent come to a halt, countries are checkmating entrants into their shores.

But just like other pandemics that has ravaged the world, for example the Ebola virus, this one will also with time be completely eradicated. The health systems of the various countries of the world deserve to be credited with how this scenario is handled, I believe it's only a matter of time till we see the last positive case of the virus.
5173  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Too good to be real projects on: March 13, 2020, 06:13:23 PM
the reason it's good to look beyond what's written on whitepaper and ask the team tactical questions to ascertain their level of knowledge on what they want to build. Most of the times they will ignore such questions, ban the person or even give irrelevant answer.
The managers and the team many times are proactive and they usually have laid down/already prepared answers to possible questions they will be expecting from their investors, so they despatch answers to questions asked expertly and without any troubles, which would not make the project a success or make them do or achieve any of the answers they gave to the questions they were asked.

What this is to say is that investors should not always judge the legitimacy of the project with the way the team answers questions they are asked or with how knowledgeable they may seem, it may just all be a scheme.
5174  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League Discussion Thread on: March 13, 2020, 04:20:10 PM
Football matches aren't won by statistics as there're different strategy to win a matches. A team might decide to sit deep to defend and counter attack their opponents when the opportunity presents itself resulting to them most likely winning the game. Atl Madrid are known for doing exactly that. That Liverpool dominated most stats is mostly due to the fact Atl Madrid allowed them to.
And Liverpool are also not a team that dominates when it comes to possession, they are mostly an all out attack team, relying mostly on plenty of crosses. Atheletio made them dominate possession just as you said, they(Athletico)love to sit back, tighten up their defense and are decisive in attack, this presented a field day for Liverpool to dominate the possession and boss the game.

To be fair to Liverpool, they should have won the game, they were the better team and should have scored more goals than Athletico, but in football a second can change anything, sadly Adrian turned out to be the villain at the end of the day as Diego simeone and his men progressed. Liverpool have only the EPL to win now, not as successful as they would have wanted I'm sure.
5175  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin's price, and mental health. on: March 13, 2020, 02:19:40 PM
Dismay, uncertainty and fear are great 'killers' and can even lead to more loss for an investor after they must have pressed the panic button, it hasn't been too long bitcoin price was at the range value of 3-4k, but the market saw a welcome improvement to around 9-10k, but it all seems like we are back to the nadir once again, but it's not anything to die for, it's unstable and that's certain, it will also go back up and also inevitably also go low again, it's something like a circle we are used to already.

If you want to pull out, do so, but if you want to recover if you are already in a loss, be patient.
5176  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: [Share]: Satoshi's Original Whitepaper Audiobook on: March 12, 2020, 04:48:16 PM
I'm not sure what the community consensus would be on this; but a rewrite of the Bitcoin whitepaper aimed at introducing complete beginners to the world of cryptocurrency, and Bitcoin might be helpful.
Maybe if it's not made to look like it is a rewrite of the bitcoin whitepaper, but an introduction of another version a lot of users would support the idea. The bitcoin whitepaper is a hallowed piece and proposing a rewrite of it may send a wrong message to people. naming it: Introducing an abridged, easier to understand version of the bitcoin whitepaper would sound better imo, I support this idea, it will be easily assimilated by newbies.

Leipzig vs spurs is a very open match with either teams still at 50/50 chances to qualify.
Leipzig has the upper hand Imo, definitely not 50/50 for me, they came to England and beat spurs, getting themselves a very important away goal, they have one foot in the quarter final, they just need to complete the job tonight.

I am not giving spurs any chance at all in this game, their recent performances has been far from impressive and I'm tipping Leipzig to win this second leg, completing a clean sweep, home and away. If this happens, Mou will come under real criticism, if he/spurs can't win a round of 16 game against Leipzig, then why did spurs sign him?
5179  Economy / Lending / Re: Crypto loans and trading on: March 08, 2020, 04:00:04 PM
You should take a loan from the bank, convert it to cryptocurrency and invest with it, or borrow from those who know and see you in real life. You cannot take loans on the forum just yet, you are a newbie and newbies who ask for loans are suspected to be scammers.
5180  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: negative trust on: March 08, 2020, 01:36:12 PM
You cannot remove a feedback yourself, if you are givien a negative feedback by any user, the feedback can only be changed by the user who tagged you. Though if the feedback doesn't hold any ground and the user who puts it refuses to change it, then other members on DT can give counter feedbacks(positives)against such ratings.

The advantage of a genuine negative rating is that it protects other users or visitors of the forum from such user, they would learn that the forum distrusts such member and it could save them from falling into grief if they trade with such user. Though there are a lot of erroneous feedback flying around the forum so LoyceV's Beginners guide to correct use of the Trust system is a must read.
