5181  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Will central banks create their own digital currencies? on: November 17, 2020, 04:49:50 AM
"Will central banks create their own digital currencies?"

Yes, of course they will, there are no options here.
These are not random events, but necessary changes, without which it will be difficult for the world to develop further.

They will run off a choice because the trend with Bitcoin cannot be stopped despite their hard work to warn and to make stories out of it. Investors are flocking to the market to get their bitcoins. also, there are lots of altcoins being created and you have some Defi platform that still gaining some popularity all over the crypto industry. They need to grab this opportunity by making their own digital currencies and ideas are running out as well they need to have some unique idea on their own.
5182  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: A gambler living in England makes a $5M bet on Trump on: November 17, 2020, 04:07:36 AM
I think that gambler will be fine, he's probably very rich. Very rich gamblers regularly lose millions in one night at the casino or poker table.

He could be a trust fund baby with investments in the stock market, then under Trump his portfolio grew by much more than 5 millions, so he figured he would bet that amount on him !

I think that's the best explanation for this bet. He might be one of the rich men in the country and betting that high amount doesn't really make him sweat when he lost the game. We are the only one who thinks he is now sad with what he had lost when that is not the case. For us, that amount of money is already a life turning point but for them, it's just mere entertainment.
5183  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: PayPal Reaches 85% of Binance.US Volume on: November 17, 2020, 03:47:22 AM
Paypal is gaining more volume because of the popularity. Actually, the announcement of paypal when they said users can use bitcoin on paypal was a positive fundamental news. In the other hand, Binance.us is losing volume because there are some regulation issues on it and as far as I know the cz said people should withdraw their funds from BinanceUS. There are two reasons of why PayPal gaining more and more over time.

In other words, most of those people are from BinanceUS and they switch to Paypal for some other purposes like for example the statement you said from above. Just like the Okex right now, they are having issues with the internal affairs of their exchange and they disable the withdrawal for a month now. they didn't announce what is the real reasons behind it they just told their investors to wait patiently which is not good. This will cost their investors to buy from another source just like what happened to the BinanceUS.
5184  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2021 NBA Season on: November 17, 2020, 03:23:59 AM
The trading season has just started yesterday and some star players have been already traded already. like Chris Paul goes to Phoenix Suns and the Oklahoma Thunder receives Rubio, Oubre, Jerome, Lecque, and draft compensation in the deal.

Try your phone without it being connected to the router (just using your data plan). You could also try the usual trick that solves a large part of ordinary issues: turn it all off and back on again (router, laptop, etc.)

I turned off the router and turned it on again and also I flush the DNS which you can see in the image below. Everything is good now, I wonder which one of them did the job. Thanks for all your help guys, I really appreciate it. the problem has been resolved now.

I can see the image again.  Grin Grin

What do you see when you ping the image proxy, ip.bitcointalk.org, indicated above by @jackg?
(https://ip-lookup.net/domain.php or cmd with ping should return 45.55.191.107)

This is the result

Also, I checked my phone to see if the problem is only on my computer but damn! my phone is showing the same result. No Image as well  Cry

are there any other images you are having problems with ? avatars, user signature, forum banners etc ?
what browser & adblocker plugin are you using ?

Only images on posts, user signatures, and avatars are fine. I can view them as usual.

I'm using this kind of Ad-Block and still, I already turn it off. But nothing has changed, I still can't view the images that have been posted all over the forum. I'm hoping someone could help me with this or maybe someone already had this problem in the past and successfully fixed it. Any suggestion will do  Cry Cry

5188  Other / Meta / Re: Image won't load on: November 16, 2020, 03:29:47 PM
I can see the image you posted though? Can you?

Is there a chance you or your firewall have blocked the domain ip.bitcointalk.org?

Although I post that image above, I cannot see it myself.

I already turn off my firewall but still, No Luck   Cry

5189  Other / Meta / Image won't load on: November 16, 2020, 03:20:58 PM
Does anyone know how I can fix it?

There's something wrong with my account, it won't load any image from Bitcointalk.

I already cleared my browser's cache and run my CCleaner. Nothing has changed.

I wonder if any of you guys had experienced this problem. as for me, it has been 3 days since I saw an image in the forum. Signature and avatar are fine. the only problem is the image on posts. for example in the topic of Hhampuz in services.

there's no image and also, I can't see the image above too.
5190  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2021 NBA Season on: November 16, 2020, 05:13:47 AM

Hopefully Derrick Rose will have a ring before he retires.

That injury really changes his future, he is still earning a decent salary but the recognition was already lost.
I guess he should be playing with star players or a team that has a decent chance of winning a championship.

However, we don't know his principle in life as a player, he wants to bring his team to win like in the past but things changes everything already.

Such a hard-working player needs to have his own ring as Leonard has. when he wins the championship for the Raptors. However, he always landed on the team who are not strong enough to compete in the playoffs and the results they always lose. I think whatever his decision with the game is must be respected because he is a good example of a player who doesn't care about his records. He played the game to the extent he injured himself very often.
5191  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin - Reinforced by the pandemic on: November 16, 2020, 04:22:51 AM
From the start, I am more confident about bitcoin being the best investment because of its unique features in the market. despite the bearish trend last year, it holds its spot in the top one and it only took a few months before it recovered its price again. right now, if it's gonna stay at this high price for long, I'm sure it will also rise someday and renew its old ATH. I think most of the people are already happy to see the result of the price today.
5192  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcoin&Crypto vocabulary. on: November 16, 2020, 03:41:42 AM
I want to read these massive lists sometimes because I think right now I already missed some important terminology that currently used in the crypto world. Especially those on the Defi platform. Thanks for compiling this massive list for us hope you will give us more such as these kinds of helpful thread in the future. +1 for you OP  Grin
5193  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gamblers lose more money than win. on: November 16, 2020, 03:18:56 AM
We always chase our loses and we are greedy most of the time in gambling, which is so hard to stop. The casinos job is to entertain us but more importantly to collect money from us, and they have to invest on good machines, and a more elegant design so many will feel comfortable playing with them and we cannot blame them for that. If you really want to win in gambling, stop playing because as long as you play time will come for you to lose money.

That's right! people should consider playing moderately instead of going to play recklessly with their salary. In our place, they make it a habit to play every time they get their 15 days salary thinking that it will double their money. It didn't, instead, they lose it all and ended up getting some debt from the other people. This kind of mindset should be changed because it is unhealthy both for the player and his family. Only a few people can master such skills where they will stop themselves to play if they sense nothing is going right their way but most of the time, people who play are like the people above.
5194  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Lebanon to launch digital currency in face of economic and financial turmoil on: November 16, 2020, 02:56:41 AM
They really need it because their country is not doing well both their economy and country are at the stake of being ruin because of their corrupt government. This time they want to make their own digital currency which is good. This is the time of cryptocurrency and some countries that are not doing well with their economy should quickly switch to this strategy. Most of the people in their country don't understand what's going on because most of them are illiterate about cryptocurrency but after a few months, everything will highlight to them by their government.

5196  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Does China FUD matter anymore? on: November 15, 2020, 06:23:15 AM
Based on the following, I'm assuming the so-called continued crackdown on crypto in China is becoming less and less relevant if users are merely moving away from Chinese exchanges. Anyone have more understanding of this? It also seems that China changes it's mind so often that almost nothing legally sticks in the end anyway.

Quote from: CoinDesk
Bitcoin flows to Binance from Huobi reached an all-time high since the Huobi chief operating officer, Robin Zhu, allegedly went missing on Nov. 2. According to data provided by CryptoQuant, a total number of 18,652 bitcoin, worth nearly $300 million, was transferred from Huobi to Binance from that day until Nov. 11.

Source: https://www.coindesk.com/china-exchanges-crackdown-binance-huobi-okex

I still remember the "China FUD" in the past, it used to be one of the worst types of FUD I thought. Now it just reads like old news going round in a circle again.

Base on the movement of the market, the kind of news like this won't matter that much anymore in the crypto industry. However, they have some better ways to hide the main reason for his disappearance and most of the crypto users leave nothing but to speculate. Okex exchange, on the other hand, has something fishy with their exchanges, they don't give us a valid reason on why our funds stuck on their exchange. there are rumors that this Huobi incident links to what is happening in the Okex exchange right now where they disable the withdrawal for about a month now. Anyway, that just some rumors but still, we want to know the truth.

5197  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Yet another Defi platform got hacked again on: November 15, 2020, 05:56:02 AM
They are vulnerable to attacks too. Just like DEX and centralized exchanges, they are not exempted from the attacks and abused of hackers. $2m of DAI is a big amount of loss. The reason why everybody has to think before investing to a Defi is because you're allowing your money to stay on them and if an attack like this occurred, it's likely that your fund will also be part of it which is we don't want to happen. That's one major reason why it's better for me to buy and hold.

They really need to make their system fully secured or else those scammers will rampage their platform in no time. These bad guys are just taking some caution when they attacked some exchanges, I feel bad for that Defi platform they might not have any alternative to recover the funds of their customers. Now the incidents have been made public, those who are frowned at this kind of attack, need to revise their strategies and check the possible reasons why those hacked got some access to that victim's Defi platform.
5198  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2021 NBA Season on: November 15, 2020, 05:30:22 AM
I can still consider Rose as one of the best players in the NBA though.
He had huge potential, and of course, he could be one of the best players, but injuries are haunting him throughout his career.  I don't even remember the number of his injuries (ACL, meniscus, ankle, etc...)

The guy is lucky to walk tbh.
I wish we could know what would happen to him if he is injury free. Could be at HOF discussion right now.

despite those years where he hasn't played much and injury caught him in the middle of crucial seasons, he showed outstanding skills these last two years where he proved he can still play and have a chance to bring their team to the championship if given a chance to play with the star players in this era. Where do you think D-Rose should go this upcoming season?

5199  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Great news for XRP coin holders? on: November 15, 2020, 04:23:37 AM
Will it really work? I mean I still have some decent amount of XRP in my possession because I believe they will gonna increase like a double amount if those people invest in bitcoin and ETH will convert their assets into XRP someday. I don't know if something like this airdrop will trigger the price in the market to increase, because even though much legit and good news than this one doesn't really get the price of XRP back to about $0.4 again in the crypto market.
5200  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Casino workers forced into unpaid leave on: November 15, 2020, 04:02:22 AM
Their employers have gambled with their lives and future, those who are left need to think of some way to get out of such situations in the future. They really need to consider and think about what happened to their job mates. That's fine when they think of another way like finding another job because that job that they're currently working is not gonna promise them some good things in the future. despite their hard work, they still consider their employees to be useless and just give them unpaid leave.
