1.9.6 has a bug. You cant chose more than one source address. Firstly... if you chose a second one then the first one is deleted. Secondly. If you take some time than the source addresses are deleted because of the all-deleting redraw... so at the moment the priorize feature would be better than the actual state.

It doesnt look like friedcat didnt move the shares yet. As far as i wrote with nexus 6 that means that he will pay the divs to your addresses until the shares are really moved. The BTC are still in escrow until the shares are really transferred.

Finally i got at least 9BTC out.

ukyo please give a timeline when you will reveal the truth about the missing coins.

The forum lawyer didnt react yet. Someone wrote me he is in holiday now.
5185  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [ANN] LocalBitcoins.com - a location-based bitcoin to cash marketplace on: December 27, 2013, 01:16:38 AM
I've received several emails from localbitcoins indicating that someone requested that my password be reset.  I did not make such a request until tonight when I found that I was unable to log in.  Has anyone heard of this?  I've been logging in with the same password (and two-factor authentication) for longer than I care to admit, so I know I'm not mistyping the password, and caps lock was not on.

Here's the weird part:  When I DID request the password change, I didn't get an email.  I still haven't gotten an email.  I created a new account with a different email address and got the verification email.  Then I used that new account to try the password-reset function, and I didn't did get an email for the new one.

I suspect my account might be flagged (I hope!) and that is why I am not getting the password reset email.

Any insights would be appreciated!

Dave Scotese.

What mailprovider do you use? It happened in the past that accounts were hacked so that a copy were sent to another email address. With that someone could reset your pass and change email to his email. Or he somehow reads the email another way.

How often does profit from my investments update? I have the same for like 3 days.

I believe it changes instantly.

Since when did legal disputes happen where you cannot say you are in a legal dispute? When megaupload servers were seized we knew about it instantly and were able to follow the case reasonably well.

Could ukyo not have just said 1 month ago "we cannot return the coins now because of a legal dispute with the SEC".
Ukyo said in the beginning of November that he had "a rather important and very positive announcement" about weex. Remember that it doesn't have to be a problem with a government agency, it could be another company.

And why could the 6% be returned now and not earlier?
He had to create the claim site so he could manage the distribution of available coins and people could see the status of their stuck funds. He might also had to get it cleared legally.

Why should another company being able to froze funds that belong to other users? That would only make sense when not enough bitcoins are there anymore and someone got a title so that ukyo cant spend them in order to save the debt ukyo has with him. If that would be the case it would be totally unfair of ukyo because we couldnt join the lawsuit and probably the first suer will get his money, not we.

Anyway... i dont even get my 6%. Again i only get bitcoind is overloaded...

Is this list updated???

Doesnt look like it...
5189  Economy / Securities / Re: [BitFunder] Moving Forward/Resolution Process on: December 25, 2013, 01:14:02 AM
I now made a new password through weexchange and now it tells me everytime
Code:
Bitcoind resources currently overloaded, please try back in about 10 minutes.

*facepalm*

Why should it be overworked? Its not like it is a portal in a running website... its a claim portal only. That means maybe 5 requests a hour. Nothing that would justify bitcoind is overworked...

*sigh*
Many people have had that error and been able to claim their coins, so no need to worry (about the 6.175% at least).

I believe that it is a temporary fix to the problem Ukyo mentioned with bitcoind shortly before <the issue(s?)> happened and shit hit the fan. I think he said that it is the amount of keys in the wallet and not the amount of requests that are making bitcoind struggle.

If true then this would mean ukyo was able to import all the previous addresses and now have the same problem he had before. But that would mean the missing bitcoins arent at the old addresses anymore. Stolen or hacked or something.

Why does wagered change so much from one day to another? On the 19th and 20th 0BTC were bet, while there have been days when 300BTC were wagered.

Nearly no players?

At some point JD may want to set a cap on investor amounts.  Especially if BTCs start trading north of $1,000.  Who knows what that limit is?  But I think around 50,000 to 100,000 coins will do the trick as the largest pools out there are less than that amount.  Therefore, JD will have the largest bank roll and will be sustained over time.

Because why?

Because profits will be growing with lottery function and investors will keep dumping funds into it, diluting existing investors.  Also, if BTC trades at $10k, that implies a bankroll of half a Bil at 50,000 coins. Isn't that enough?  There will not be sufficient new money to utilise max profits.

120,000 coins is of course roughly 1% of all Btcs mined.  At that level, the casino would permanently hold 0.5% of all Bitcoins in the universe.

So you claim the profits will grow and new investors will invest and then the previous investors will earn less? First... why are previous investores better than newer ones? And your claim contradicts themselve. If profits grow and new investors come in then everything remains the same for all. If the profits would lower then many would divest which happened when kelly was set to 0.5%.

I think a big maximum win in USD is a real good advertising. Nothing that should be fighted against.

How safe is the website regarding website security and illegal luck games? Is it risky that its a .com, where is the owner living, where its hosted and so on? I have a not small amount invested (others probably have way more) so i would like to know.

Whats the biggest amount someone could withdraw? Anything near 9BTC?
I got around 7BTC out.

rockxie said, he had a stuck transfer of 250BTC, which would be around 15.4BTC to withdraw now.
We can only speculate whether that is the full amount he's owed though..

Ok... then its me only...

Whats the biggest amount someone could withdraw? Anything near 9BTC?
You can withdraw 6.175% of the amount you have stuck in WeExchange.

I know but i can login but not withdraw because the portal claims my password is wrong even though i could log in with it before. Ukyo didnt fix that so i was wondering if im the only one with a higher bitcoin amount that cant withdraw. Its still not fixed even though i complain since the start of the portal.

2. Customers should be treated with much more respect. Stop calling them "whales" and that kind of things. You are doing exactly the opposite of what "serious" casinos do, specially brick and mortar ones. Customers must feel comfortable betting at Just Dice. We have to try to make them feel good even when they lose, so it's more likely that they come back. People don't like feeling stupid.

this could be addressed somewhat with separate chats. one for investors only, one for big gamblers, one for anyone, who knows what else.

Exactly. Look at a normal casino. The owners discussing with the players about the investments? An owner asking a sheikh not to play anymore because he fears he could win too much? Thats so completely stupid.

Investors and players has to be divided. It has to be a player experience for players and an investors experience for investors. That really shouldnt be discussed in one thread or chat. The more when some scary investors are able to crush the investment for all investors because they are, sorry, stupid enough to tell players to stop playing and even can convince the site owner to set the website to mathematically suboptimal settings.
Such things REALLY shouldnt happen. That has to change.
5196  Economy / Securities / Re: [BitFunder] Moving Forward/Resolution Process on: December 22, 2013, 04:27:05 PM
Ukyo... when will you check the problem with my withdraw? I can log in normally at the portal. Username LYCOZ. Then i have to put in the withdraw address and the password again. But when i did that i get:

error: Invalid Password

And thats it.

Please check this. My pass contains every kind of special sign and is 30 signs long. Please fix this!

Might be that the second form is limited in the password sign lenght or cant handle special signs.

...at least there is no risk that the coins vanish because the other trader accepts "the offer" even though it might be for a wrong currency or for a wrong value.

This cannot happen because you have to release them once you are satisfied you have the money for the contract - usually during the face to face meeting.

I guess you overread my "at least there is no risk...". Smiley

Hey everyone,

I finally made it back home. During my trip the backup server decided it was a great time to fail. This caused the main systems to fill up with logs due to current extreme logging that is in place and break cookie data. i.e. cookie data was unavailable meaning new logins were not possible and anyone logged in had empty cookie data so the system showed 0's.

I have already got everything cleaned back up.

I am going to _try_ to get the AM claim port up on Monday and then building in the loan claiming.

-Ukyo

In case you repaired this... it didnt hold long time. Its back to zero. And did you check the password error i wrote about? I could log in with my details but withdrawing with my password gets me a wrong password error.
5199  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: [ANNOUNCE] Electrum - Lightweight Bitcoin Client on: December 21, 2013, 08:57:45 PM
Since i dont like to connect to random servers with different limitations i would like an automatic reconnect option for the server one wants to use. At the moment i can use the autoconnect and get random servers or i can disable that and have to life with connecting servers by hand from time to time because a lost connection isnt automatically reestablished.
5200  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Just-Dice.com : Invest in 1% House Edge Dice Game on: December 21, 2013, 08:55:16 PM
I love this business model. I have invested a bit and will probably invest more. I'd like to make some suggestions:

1. Maximum bet should be whatever gives the highest return to Just-Dice (following the Kelly Criterion). Not only it increases our expected profit, but it attracts more people looking to hit the jackpot. And people hitting a gigantic jackpot is also great for marketing. If some risk adverse investors prefer to have lower returns and volatility, they can simple divest a portion of their actual share. Another option, if it's cheap enough to implement, would be letting investors choose how much they are willing to risk in a single bet.

3. I don't get why some of you complain so much when some customers make a lot of money. Don't you understand that they are losing in the long run? I wish we had thousands of high rollers gambling all day. They win sometimes, it's inevitable, they wouldn't be willing to participate if they couldn't win. Every time they bet, we win 0.01 of that amount, that's the only thing that matters. There's no winning strategy, each bet has the same negative expected value. The only thing that we must care about is people being able to bet profitably, by knowing what the dice result will be.

4. We should give more options to customers. For example, whether the next dice roll will be odd or not. Or whether it will finish with a 5. There are lots of possible options. I know they can be "made" by defining the chance you want to have for the next bet, but there's people that prefers to bet on something else than higher/lower than X. Or, even better, add more casino games, using the same bankroll.

Even though im new too... your points are something i really support. The behaviour has to change. If the risk or thrill is too much for someone then either dont invest or maybe JD might give a changeable investor risk option (I even would like to see kelly > 1%).

And a more interesting player experience is the root of attracting more players... which at the end is the power running that website.

I can imagine... if there is a $-Value beneath the max profit... it will work wonders in the brains of players... i mean even with the current exchange price of 630USD the 170.83BTC would translate to 107,622.90 USD. Thats really something dont you think?

I have read wikipedia about kelly criterion but i dont really get how much bigger the risk is when using kelly 2% instead 1%. I mean doesnt it mean for JD that at kelly 1% 1% of the house can be won. I see JD is only at 0.5% what is even below the optimum kelly describes. But even with 2%... its a percent value... the house cant really be beaten this way or am i wrong? It can go down very much but each new bet with max win of the house 2% means the house will be less than before... so the max win will be less then. If it would be a fixed value then of course... at 2% the house could be beaten in 50 wins. Which sounds like it will happen very rare. But its not even a fixed value. Its a percent value. That means you cant win back the losses as fast as you could with fixed values but the same goes with the losses. They will slow down. I dont see yet why 2% should be so much worse than 1%.

By the way... i really would like to see the optimum kelly criterion at JD again. I mean if someone calculates whats the optimum value then i dont see why a scary investor should be able to change this. Dooglus changed it at the end but as far as i read someone convinced him who was feared of whales and the more. I really would like an alternative here. First the optimum kelly 1% is calculated and proved so it should be used as standard. And secondly... each investor should be able to set his own risk level.

I might donate something for this feature being implemented and i guess others would too. Because that way scared investors and bullish investors could play this to the fullest.
