5181  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin donation vs Bank donations on: June 05, 2020, 10:47:56 AM
Bitcoin donation is more secure when it comes to accounting, but majority of the people trust banks than blockchain as only few of us are educated with crypto, and also, they will always consider the volatility of crypto which is risky if the price will go down, if there is a stable coin, then probably that is the best choice.
With crypto, we still have few decades to go if not centuries for everyone to recognize crypto like they do fiat these days. And when we are talking about a charity it really is the trust you put to the organization with the good faith that the donations you are making will be given to the purpose they are raising the funds. I do not think anyone will be forced to show you their bank statements.
5182  Other / Meta / Re: Suggestion to update the obsolete moderators from various boards / child boards on: June 05, 2020, 10:44:10 AM
My imagination was that they get paid weekly or monthly basis a fixed salary. I had no idea that things could work like this. Good to hear the information and it seems a win-win position for both sides :-D
As a general disclaimer, don't get it in your head that moderation is a good 'job' (similarly to signature campaigns). One should look at it like heightened volunteer work with a small financial incentive: you're not moderating for the money, you're doing it to clear the forum of spam.

Correct, it's a volunteer position first and foremost. Moderators also weren't paid anything at all before ~mid-2013.
This information is new to me. I always had other crazy things in mind :-P
5183  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: How about adding 2FA for next wallet update? on: June 05, 2020, 10:36:15 AM
In Electrum, I think we have this option but with a third party server or something. It costs a little fees too. I have never used that so I do not have much idea.

Honestly speaking, without making it too complicated I think we are good.
5184  Other / Meta / Re: Online challenge, test your knowledge about Bitcointalk on: June 04, 2020, 12:48:14 PM

I took the challenge and got only this lol
I had in mind that I will get 15/15 :-P

Some questions were not very clear like that 35 activity in 35 periods etc.

Overall, the op was giving very good amount of thoughts in the questions. Good work.
5185  Economy / Services / Re: [OPEN] BestChange Signature Campaign on: June 04, 2020, 08:49:41 AM
@Best_Change you can add a rule about "Post bursting: Posting more than 4 posts during an hour, and 10 posts during the day are not allowed."
When I am in good mood and have things to talk in topics then in an hour I really do not count or feel to see how many posts I am making. This post bursting theory is not very much good-looking to me. It's for those members whose sole motivation is making posts to get paid in the sig campaign they are in.
5186  Economy / Services / Re: [CFNP] BestChange Signature Campaign on: June 03, 2020, 11:53:18 AM
Lol guys, all these are really confusing me. Too many options and talk. I am going to stick with what they have in the op however I will still prefer the oldest one. I am on the same page as Little Mouse. The one we had before was the better one so far.
5187  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Making A Difference Through Bitcoin. on: June 02, 2020, 04:09:14 PM

It would be nice to have a global supply of vetted, trusted individuals that could receive coin and use it properly, but we've seen that even people who scammed enough for their life still continue to steal.  Maybe this person is legit and honest.   But how can we tell when they make a new anonymous account?

Not sending coin to a newbie is still the best advice.
It's hard to trust newbie account in fact accounts with green trust and is active in the community. Other day I saw a post that green trusted user scammed 0.1 BTC. There are 100s of examples like this.

In OP case I carefully considered the case and the investigation team also gave their besr. We are not judging him but our internal decision was to pass his appeal unfortunately.

I totally support what you explained cause most all the picture on the social page of the OP organization are not good quality especially the picture with a Priest in it and it make me think the OP foundation is not genuine and the best way the OP would change the mind of Royse777 and the covid 19 support movement is for a green trust high rank member in Zimbabwe to vouch for him.
With that been said, all
We already proposed that but unfortunately he does not have one
5188  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Trx Fee on: June 02, 2020, 03:02:57 PM
If no miner includes your Tx in a block then your Tx never gets confirmed so it's not going to work without paying the miners.

Quote
do we pay anything other than miners' fee for a transaction?
No, as I understand.
5189  Economy / Services / Re: [CFNP] BestChange Signature Campaign on: June 02, 2020, 02:59:08 PM
I am sorry but this is an ugly looking sig, and I am going to hate to wear it. I hope the team changes this sig and update the OP.

I hope he agree, I like it too. Nice job mate.
The social icons are still overlapped and ugly.
5190  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Project Covid-19: Supply to 50 families in Nigeria outside my community {Update} on: June 02, 2020, 02:53:33 PM
Sorry just noticed the challenge game on your thread. Anyway I think I know whose to challenge that probably can help out on this cause. The challenge should be posted on this thread right? https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5243099.msg54455893#msg54455893 okay coming up soon.
Yes you post them on that thread. The rules are there so I hope it won't be too hard :-D

You are so busy mate, you probably didnt recognize the new avatar and signature of our campaign. (Should be updated the signature as per manager)

Really!
Honestly speaking, I am not following the campaign thread much. You are right. I am busy these days. I do more PMs than post each day/week lol. Maybe I need to ask Best_Change to pay me for PM communications too :-P

Jokes aside, I will look at the changes and will response. Thanks for mentioning.

Cheers,
5191  Other / Meta / Re: Suggestion to update the obsolete moderators from various boards / child boards on: June 02, 2020, 02:46:33 PM
Staff aren't paid a salary per se. If you don't handle any reports then you won't get paid anything. The more reports you handle the more you'll be paid, but it's capped at a certain amount depending on your moderator rank. There's no obligation for staff to handle any or even x amount of reports per month, but if you're inactive after a while theymos will usually remove them from staff. Sometimes he forgets to remove them from specific sub boards though hence why their names are still there, though for other mods if they're not active they certainly wont be getting paid anything.
My imagination was that they get paid weekly or monthly basis a fixed salary. I had no idea that things could work like this. Good to hear the information and it seems a win-win position for both sides :-D
5192  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Project Covid-19: Supply to 50 families in Nigeria outside my community {Update} on: June 02, 2020, 08:55:20 AM
Im glad I donated some of my funds from campaign to @Royse777 for this project. Knowing that small contribution could helped a lot is really an overwhelming feeling. We all appreciate your contributions here on forum and also to your people. Please continue this mate we are not gonna get tired to support you.
These are some works which are still in is progress or done successfully:

The latest one is: Supplying food for 50 families in Bangladesh which is in progress too. Nothing would be possible without the help of the community. Thanks for all the supports you guys are showing however still we need more from you.

I see not many users are playing the 2-step challenge game. We need more user to do it to create awareness. Not having three users who made good connection with you in this forum is impossible :-D
5193  Other / Meta / Re: Suggestion to update the obsolete moderators from various boards / child boards on: June 02, 2020, 08:43:16 AM
This just crossed my mind. There are few mods who are in-active and does this mean that these were not a paid job for them? If I am not wrong then mods are getting paid for the work they do, right?
5194  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: [RED ALERT] marlboroza attempt to "conquer" bitcointalk with his friends. on: June 02, 2020, 08:40:20 AM
In my opinion marboroza is one of the best investigator whose investigation analysis are highly quality indeed. I sometimes get surprised to see how he dig up the evidences from long buried posts. Of -course not every time a person can be 100% accurate.

I think he as group of car clown or something LOL
5195  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin hits $10k, Coinbase goes down (again) on: June 02, 2020, 07:48:48 AM
I'm also not using coinbase for long time and I think this thing is not good since this could give us a doubt on what is really up to them on why this maintenance thing always happening when there's a price surge happening.
Well I do not see any doubt. It's not that they find themselves in a place where it uses bandwidth exponentially. There might be a little increase of traffic but this should not be something to take the entire site down.

It is planned ofc.
5196  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin hits $10k, Coinbase goes down (again) on: June 02, 2020, 07:16:34 AM
This seems a continuous process from coinbase. It's funny how these things happens every time when bitcoin price ups and I doubt it's not their internal policy. They could have this policy that if BTC spikes then lock the database or the system for a while so that it keeps their interest safe.

I have gone out from coinbase long time ago.
5197  Economy / Services / Re: Translator needed on: June 02, 2020, 07:08:08 AM
Sorry my bad, I almost forget to update the list with your work. I have sent you some merit and will update the list.

For everyone else, we still need more translations. Please check this list and if your local language is not listed them please consider translating it in your own language.

Cheers
5198  Other / Meta / Re: Mikeywith Merit Source Application (Bitcoin Mining) on: June 01, 2020, 01:24:21 PM
You are one of the worthy user to have this voluntary job. I have full support for you.

Bugger. Another worthy rival rears his ugly head. In truth, he's consistently outclassed me on most every level. If one were ever to see him troll around, I bet he'd be better at that too. Not to say he's not light and humorous too when appropriate. I support his application without reservation or even grudge.
How about the application you made?
5199  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Making A Difference Through Bitcoin. on: May 30, 2020, 08:27:33 AM
Hello Engels57,
I hope you are doing well. I already disapproved your appeal when you first approached to me. Then when I saw this topic, I wanted to give you another try. We really want to help genuine users/people. But when it comes to long distance and a user do not have much information available online - it gets defficult and it's was difficult for me and my partner too.

Few days ago, I decided to hire some private investigator who are expert in researching backgrounds based on the information one has available online. They are still with us and will help us to make sure that we are sending the aids to the right people. I am not telling that we all will be 100% accurate but our approach will be to ensure we are very close to currect.

On the basis of their votes, 75% was NO for you so, unfortunately we can not help you.

I wish good luck on your venture. When your mind is clear and your goal is set then no obstacles can stop you. Good luck buddy.

Cheers,
