5181  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Warning: Cardano can drops to 0.5$ and Ethereum to $800 on: June 01, 2021, 06:54:20 AM
Ignoring the common notion of "Anything can happen in crypto", I don't feel we will see that point right now for ETH. With the big update coming soon and ETH 2.0 in the near future, it will be hard for ETH to go below 1500$ and stay.
On the other hand, people might jump from Cardano to ETH and therefore dropping the value of it further down.

I kind of agree with you, but yeah, I never thought we'd see $100 in the last one, as much as I thought 1400 was overvalued, I thought it was pretty crazy how undervalued it was (and how long it stayed that way). And I thought this BEFORE I changed my opinion about Ethereum (used to stay away from it until around the time 2.0 discussions).

Time will tell as always.
5182  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is the FUD starting to wear off? on: June 01, 2021, 06:04:05 AM
Well we all have seen how tired BS can get recycled, often several times in a rally cycle, so I would expect there are going to be more discussions about it until end of the year before they move on to other things maybe like mining decentralization etc.

It's definitely super boring but by now time to accept this boring cycle is going to resume again at some point.

Same as tweet mania and fomo.
5183  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is $65,000 the peak of this bull market? on: June 01, 2021, 04:30:59 AM
For now, this is considered the peak since we don't know how high will it go. Remember that back in 2018, they also thought the same thing but 3 years later, we haven't touched that prices for about 5 months now.

Yeah and the years before that too all thoughts and predictions were blown out of the water. The last time anyone saw price below 1000 was in early 2017. Also four years now.

The thing also to say is 288k is very much in the play. Everyone is worried now but we shouldn't be, we're still way in profit now if you look at it from any angle.
5184  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: At what point do you stop buying the dip? on: May 31, 2021, 03:21:05 PM
I can't tell that we are finally in the bear season, seems to be not yet. $30k plus is still high to be considered as a bear price, what I can say to the current market position is still in the bullish season, we are just in price correction.
So buying this time could be at higher risk but of course, we are already exposed to that thing, nothing to worried about provided that we are investing potential coins, not shitcoins. Now, if we can get a profit of 30% or even 20%, you'll got be lucky and we should contented enough.

Yeah, hard to tell now actually. We're all still thinking on the same terms as 2017/18 but this already feels very different on many levels (market wise, defi wise and institutional wise) plus the fiat economy is still a sinking ship and we all know people are so nervous there they could jump ship onto bitcoin if it really goes badly in us economy (which may not happen for many more months).
5185  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League Discussion Thread on: May 31, 2021, 01:07:57 PM
Guardiola's strategy in the final may be questioned a lot because it looks different from before until reaching the final.
City would not win the UCL unless Pep stops thinking too much in the most important games of the competition, like the final yesterday, there was absolutely no reason not to stick with the team set-up that they have been using right from the group stage, I don't think I've watched a City match this season were they started without a defensive midfielder, but Pep chose to do so in the final, it's unacceptable to be honest, and Pep can take quite a lot of blame for city's failures last night.

I don't know guys. They say Pep keeps experimenting and changing and he shouldn't, should just be more straightforward, but I think he has won many times and in the past even local trebles, so obviously, it can work. Plus this was another English club so he must have tried to stop them from the past 2 losses' experience. Just didn't work out this time:)
5186  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Which assets should I invest in during the current market drop? on: May 31, 2021, 11:57:15 AM
I don't plan to collect coins that gain a lot of value in the bull of 2021. Coins that have just entered the market but did not receive enough attention due to the decrease in btc will be my preference. Many coins that made ATH in 2018 could not reach their old price in 2021, but rose with the new trend ones. I think the next bull will look like this boron.

So you're targeting the next bull run right? Sounds like a really neat strategy actually, considering all the coins that did grow this rally, who were all born in the last bear/winter. I think it's a better idea to wait for the rally to actually be over though, and then see which projects stick around and continue to develop.
5187  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is Binance Smart Chain the "New Ethereum"? on: May 31, 2021, 11:34:10 AM
I didn't know much about BSC until recently. From what I can see BSC can do everything that ETH can do and it is much faster and cheaper. It might be more centralized but for many things they are doing decentralization is not the most important thing. NFT's don't need any decentralization whatsoever. DeFi on ethereum is already somewhat centralized anyways because most nodes are running on cloud servers. BSC has managed to get so many projects built on their ecosystem in a short amount of time. At the rate it is growing it wouldn't surprise me if they flipped ethereum someday.

Me neither. I did see all the fuss about NFTs earlier and Binance doing their own smart chain but I totally overlooked them until Pancakeswap suddenly became a challenger.

But it's all defi so I'm still very uncertain about the future of THAT sector. Basically everyone just staking stuff to earn more stuff. No utility other than that makes BSC a risky move for me.
5188  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2020/21 on: May 31, 2021, 11:03:31 AM
~~
We all appreciate his achievement in Real Madrid. He is a true legend both as a player and as a coach. Not all football players can be a great coach, especially being a legend coach like Zidane. I am also sad to know he leaves Real Madrid, but it is probably the best option for his career right now. I think he will also be successful in his next club, I hope he goes to Juventus. For Real Madrid fans, it is time to thanks him and say goodbye!!

He led (twice) that sinking ship and managed to break Barca's monopoly, so respect to him, as a player, as a coach, as a regular human being. I will always remember his contributions even as an "enemy" supporter. I wish him well and, I want to see him in the Premier League! It's getting so boring there without hot-headed people as I know Zidane can sometimes be in his deepest heart;)

Just sad to see him leave on that sour note.
5189  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Matic ,Solana and Zilliqa for giant movement on: May 31, 2021, 09:23:13 AM
You should never fall in rumour if eth 2.0 will make those projects dead. It's just another FUD for those platforms. Remember this old doesn't mean better than the new platform especially in the crypto when the new platform gets massive update compared with the old project. ZIL was a competitor for matic but i can say that matic is far better than ZIL in term of various things.
It's worth to convert your ZIl to matic rather than hodl it. DYOR.

Old doesn't mean better, but in the same argument, new doesn't mean better (which is what a lot of alts basically were trying to say in their marketing). Faster, bigger, newer, all don't mean better and Bitcoin kind of proves this daily as we speak.

End of the say Matic, Zil, Sol, what's the improvements over ETH that is tangible?
5190  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: DeFi hacks [history] on: May 31, 2021, 07:44:14 AM
Also, all of the other attacks are targetted towards Binance smart chain only. The skeptical me thinks that someone might be playing dirty. Solana to top 3 in coinmarketcap.com might prove this hehehehe.

I really hope someone goes and collects all this evidence and then tries to pin down these guys. My personal belief is that they aren't hackers but all are inside job developers with malicious intent, possibly installing loopholes made known the attackers. And then rugpulling at will. Binance Smart Chain only makes me think this for sure. Crime pays in crypto because enforcement doesn't come and catch them.
5191  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: BitcoinTalk's altcoin section vs. altcoinstalks.com on: May 31, 2021, 07:06:41 AM
Can't believe in numbers alone. This forum has had a lot of work done in terms of cleanup. 2017 2018? Those were horrendous times on the altcoin section here but ever since moderation implemented stronger measures (merit is the #1 feature I think really helped) and I think existing members used reporting function a lot, things have really improved. But in honesty, never really tried other forums for long so can't objectively speak but if you're not on bitcointalk, you're not visible.
5192  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2020/2021 on: May 31, 2021, 05:48:23 AM
PL is the best quality league. I don't think there are teams as surprising as there are in EPL. Leeds, West Ham, Sheff Utd. (last season), Leicester and so on and on.. Every teams has capability of surprising big teams unlike in LaLiga , or any other leagues. I think in every round we have atleast 1 or two surprises atleast in PL.

Btw anyone watched Championship Play-off final? We have Brentford as a winner and they are the last one from Championship to get promoted into PL. I am looking forward to their match and how their star Ivan Toney starts.

Look, I do like the premier league a lot, even though overall I watch only my team Barca and I have to say, the best quality league is always something difficult to argue.

You can argue most difficult, maybe, I agree, based on dominance. You can even argue most physical, I definitely agree.

But winning past few seasons with 100+ points says something also (Except obviously this one) right? If it's so easy to get 100+ points, is it because the league has low quality?

And in La Liga would you not agree Barca and Real have surprised us with losses to "bottom" clubs?
5193  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Warning: Cardano can drops to 0.5$ and Ethereum to $800 on: May 31, 2021, 05:11:14 AM
No need for the warning, in fact I think the warning should be put to historical context.

Remember, the ATH for Ethereum in the last crypto rally was $1400. And it fell all the way to below $90 TWICE. Not even 10% of ATH.

Now 10% of ATH is just over $400. $800 is very possible believe me.
5194  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Super Cup 2021 on: May 30, 2021, 06:57:26 PM
Villareal cause I support Spain over England;) It's 1 million euros prize money too so it means less for Chelsea than it does for Villareal that's for sure!

It's like an expensive but also prestigious charity cup shield, I would say Emery is looking forward very much to get a win over another big club for this!
5195  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Dogecoin become more stable than Bitcoin on: May 30, 2021, 05:21:25 PM
Dogeocoin couple of days 0.5% minus only. It became a stable coin  Grin

People feel more confident to invest now in dogecoin.

Seems like it stop being a pump and dump and people hold it long term.

Wjhy not check the market now and tell us if Dogecoin is still stable than Bitcoin

https://coinmarketcap.com/

Dogecoin drops more than half of Its ATH while Bitcoin is only fall by 40+% as of this moment.

Exactly! People are looking at BTC DOGE value so they think it's stable but Bitcoin has been losing value against USD while DOGE is losing value over BTC, so the dollar value is far worse for DOGE, same for almost every alt commonly traded against Bitcoin. People don't learn that's the problem.
5196  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League Discussion Thread on: May 30, 2021, 05:10:26 PM
Few weeks to the UCL finals, I believed and predicted that Mancity will win. But few minutes to the final when I saw the line up, it became obvious to me that Chelsea will take the day.
Tuchel came up with a strong midfield and a natural striker.
Mancity in the other hand came up with strong midfield without a natural striker. I was shocked Guardiola came up with his well mastered tactics by all.

It is therefore very important that when gambling, we should wait till the eleventh hour to know the formation of the club, form of the players, weather, mentality of the team for that day's match. I lost my money but I have learnt my lessons.

Show us your betslips then. Easy for anyone to say this but if you're only "learning your lessons" now then you're definitely not long in gambling. Plenty of people think there are lessons to learn but learn the wrong ones. Good luck to you though;)

There are many ways to do sportsbet but for sure the wisest ways are to wait as close to the game as possible unless you are an odds hunter then you don't really do too much analysis.
5197  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2020/21 on: May 30, 2021, 03:43:04 PM
I agree with you that Real Madrid should strengthen their squad for the next season. For example, they would make use of a top striker like you said. Kane is really decisive to leave Tottenham this summer. And Real Madrid could try to benefit from this opportunity.

I'm not a Real supporter but I think I know enough to say that the fans there didn't like Gareth Bale at all and were happy to let him go back to Spurs. Now to replace him with yet another Spurs star maybe I'm not sure they'll react well. Not that Kane is going to end up the same case as him... english? vs welsh? hehe
5198  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: DeFi hacks [history] on: May 30, 2021, 03:06:17 PM
Safemoon is not the first coin to use the word safe and trust and whatever, they're all the same. They have some kind of audit for smart contract but I still feel 99% of devs in defi aren't as smart as the hackers OR are a group of people themselves all behind the scenes of these rug pulls. The law will catch up one day hopefully.
5199  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Has the Perfect Bitcoin yet to be inveted ? on: May 29, 2021, 07:50:49 PM
If what you mean is price, of course, altcoins that can surpass BTC have happened. YFI can be given as an example. But it is very difficult to leave BTC behind in terms of market value. I don't think this can happen.

Obviously he wasn't talking about price! Altcoins moving past BTC is so easy to do. Create a low market cap, trade it to a million times, burn whatever supply and hold your small and only circulating bags forever.

Price means nothing, as your own YFI example points out;)

Market value? That's basically price right?
5200  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: May 29, 2021, 07:15:35 PM
Wow. Alaba to Real for 5 years is a magnificent deal, if we can tie down a similar age player at Barca I'd be happy. That's literally the best years of a pro footballer's life all in for a good deal at Real.

Anyone think Atletico going to break a record bank to further strengthen their squad or are they going to keep same level of strength and experience there?
