OMG. I come home late last night to see it over $800. I come home early tonight and it's up over $850.

Dare I say CCMF?

What will I see in the morning?

This feels epic, the morning coffee taste is getting superb and glorious. We said we were coming here and we are.
It's mathematical and never forget we are talking about the best peer-to-peer electronic cash system!
Then we demand and supply, you all know better than me.

 Wink

Enjoy the ride (and a good coffee)

I like the rise in BTC (have 92 btc and still mining LTC) there's the rub thou ...side note LTC is still 3.60 this last week after all this WTF

oh well at least I move LTC to BTC as fast as possible but still annoying

then again better that BTC is pumping then the other way around!

5183  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Alpha Technology Litecoin (Scrypt) ASIC Miner Order Batch 1 Now! on: December 22, 2016, 04:26:54 AM
there are those who have returned 100% of the money?

Same got a credit card (amex) refund. The 1st dispute with amex failed. But they 2nd went through when I showed them the invoice
they got from alpha saying 'paid in full' and I pointed out it was really a 'pre-order' that was NOT the full price

The amex rep was pissed let me tell you..refunded me within an hour....probably 3 months after the 45 day deadline by the time all was done

that was also 2 years ago

but anyway for further reference....if this happens on some other item you get you can dispute again

side note: indigogo you always LOSE with amex and paypal..none of their stuff is covered be warned....tried to get 'btc ticker' for 79 buck and
was ripped off..just again as a side note...(not the btc ticker on bitcointalk here he is legit..the one I tired to get looked like a clock radio)
live an learn..

sorry about your lost $$$
5184  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: December 21, 2016, 06:06:23 AM
Yes. I think the problem is the later model B+ chips use a new GPU/IPL loader that does not support Wheezy. This is a real bitch.

Question: Does anyone have a blown out bridgeboard that I can buy? I have just about everything working on the qberty boards but I need to move a component on an original BB to check a trace and I don't want to wreck my reference bridgeboard to do it. Will pay .1btc plus shipping.

Meantime more boards repaired, few more brought back to life. Don't run them too hot; don't burn out the plugs.

I was paid .5 btc so likely that is not enough. Perhaps if those interested tossed in 20 bucks each
just to know a real clone bridge work around is out there might get you where you need to be

If enough want such or just assurances on future what they have bridge board fixes. ie you get
proper info from such a fund by getting a BB the 20 bucks is kinda an insurance to get you over such a
hump
5185  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: A4 Dominator - Pre-Order Group Buy - 280mh, roughly 1000w, $1800 + shipping on: December 19, 2016, 07:08:08 AM
Yes, LTC now at 3.63 and falling I won't be buying any more A4's at this price.  The price needs to come down.  Diff increase and lower LTC price is just too much for me to justify this price point and it does not appear to be improving any time soon.

Kinda what I said a few days ago -- However, this is a double edge sword. Part of me is now worried that if LTC doesn't recover and people stop buying the A4 that Inno might be in danger of not having the funding needed to provide us the support and things we need to fix our B1/B2 miners.

Inno does not care if people buy the A4 or not. It is pure profit now. They have built their data hall and loaded it with A4's. All of the unknown hash coming from China is from their mine. They will dump more LTC on the market and further depress prices. Eventually when they have made a boat load of cash and LTC price is sub $1.00 USD, they will drop prices on the A4 and dump them on people who will buy used machines in the hope of ROI in two to three years.

As a Titan owner (watching this thread) and equiv equip more or less...that COULD be a good thing for you guys...who already have an A4 and assuming you can get them
fixed/flashed

in 2014 KNC d/c making the Titans..thus difficulty was more or less stagnant then dropped as lower speed miners 1mh/10mh/40mh dropped off scrypt network at these prices
eventually scrypt price came back up and thus I'm still mining Titans with ROI at a profit over electric (2 years 1 month) and a period of NO big miners being made. You guys
could get lucky and it could be deja vu all over again Smiley

Thus...IF Innsilicon really does have a data hall and HAS decided at these scrypt prices they don't want to buy any more for their data hall if they have one (or if no Data hall by them the IPO guys who got data halls follow the same logic)
AND with all the consumer hassle on the A4 units....also probably not willing to drop price....they could walk away from the whole works like KNC did and you guys could mine
these for more than awhile...not like I see a lot of companies lately  wanting to make pow scrypt miners at these scrypt coin prices...also remember innsilcon announced these miners
and got IPO funding WHEN LTC price was at 5-8 bucks if I remember right..thus them even making any miners for scrypt may be a fluke

So they could walk from the consumer end of this ..stay with the data hall IPO stuff they have now (makes sense why piss in your own pool and raise difficulty thru others)
and wash their hands of it all like knc did.

If that is the case....as of right now imho the ONLY thing left that mines LTC or other scrypt pow now imho is KNC Titans (reworked with gen tarkins firmware and other mods
good for another 2 years) at 300mh more or less and the A4's that maybe you can firmware hash up to say 280mh again and stable. Only these 2 units are majority of the
network now imho.

THUS...if say it ever gets to the point that an A4 can't make electric over mining...and the KNC Titan is close enough...likely the same time...then there are NO lower end
machines to drop out of pow scrypt mining and NO new big ass scrypt miner devices coming out imho.....that means when the Titans/and A4's can't cut it anymore
then scrypt pow is dead.

So IF say LTC was to get back more to its traditional 0.006 and above ratio to BTC say and other scrypt coins in that price ballpark...Then my friends it could be (if lucky) 2015
all over again...and we have just enough difficulty to continue to float the boat and just enough LTC and/or scrypt pow coin prices to keep the boat moving..and hell
this could go on another 2 years w/o new equipment coming into play for scrypt pow

Just saying..if the Data Hall IPO investors have shot their wad and happy..and wish no more..and Innsilcon is discouraged and gonna eventually stop the tap on A4 units
well...because the consumer end of this is a pain for them....again in this (probably) unlikely scenario that could happen with the KNC Titans back in the day ..you too with
the A4's could repeat this trend...so maybe a repeat as I said 'deja vu'

But man we need some life in LTC ratio of 0.00455 or whatever to BTC and/or LTC price and a few more scrypt coins at also a mineable and agreeable price to fill the 'pond' for scrypt pow..right now its kinda light for just LTC gamecredit coin etc
and a couple others Sad Not a lot of confidence in price and not a lot of depth on what an A4/KNC Titan can mine that makes sense in pow/scrypt.

Anyway just a small chance of sunshine in all this...the assumption that the data hall guys have shot their wad at these scrypt pow coin prices and need no more A4's
and that Innsilcon may find the crummy consumer problems on the A4 to the masses are NOT worth the effort anymore...and fold the works like KNC did in 2015 after
a few months.

Anyway what happened in my KNC Titan world that has got me to this point of 2 years and 1 month of mining at still double in payout after electric then I could get with
the newest S9 BTC unit (at my data hall guys who are buying this equip no rent for them/and 6c kwh electric) So go figure.

(trying to instill some hope here from the bleachers...I don't have an A4 but can run my KNC revamped Titan 300mh units yet with your A4 units in such a scenario...a nice
daydream..but hey...we could get lucky Smiley

5186  Economy / Speculation / Re: If we didnt had idiots blocking segwit we would be sittting on 4 figures by now on: December 18, 2016, 12:19:22 PM

Well my xmas wish is an announcement of block size debate consensus....right about NOW would be nice...that would make all this moot as seg witness would be next
on the list of chores along with such consensus

Then again the whole block size debate has me confused and the supposed hostage taking of seg witness....that 'probably' imho the only way you'd get consenus from
anyone in BTC world is to basically make people hardfork all the time

(its like hearding cats)

If it's "fairly obvious", show us some evidence at least.

That's the catch with censorship.

If big blockers are censored, explain how this guy gets a free pass to start new threads daily and bump old ones on a regular basis.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=196289
Well, that's an interesting example, but speaking only from my own experience with mods here I don't feel it's a place for open discussion any more, certainly compared to other bitcoin forums. This seems more like the volunteer division of the blockstream marketing department.

I'm not claiming this as conclusive, only that I've seen enough for me to disengage.

What I found here or heard is that if you lose your account the only way to get it back is to "prove' such with your btc address on the main page and a private key for such
(any paper wallet with such even empty will do) then you can 'prove' it by sending the private msg that bitcoin has (forget the name) using your private key to sign such

did it once for a usb drive it was a pain of a way to make a sale

I see adam has NO btc address on a profile..thus screwed ..thus his access is never coming back it seems...had friends with accounts here hacked..without above the mods
won't even answer you email

so if you have not done so..make a blank paper btc wallet with private keys it can even be frigging never have btc in it..put it on your profile (for tips hah) and then worse
comes to worse and hacked you can get your account back..pain thou it may be

anyway what I've heard from more then one guy who had his account info lost in 2014 when this site was 'breached'
5188  Economy / Goods / Re: Testing the water. WTS (Maybe) My Soul. on: December 17, 2016, 10:28:56 AM
So I got to thinking and im wondering how many btc might be offered to buy my soul. How anyone ever even tried to sell a soul before for bitcoin? What would you guys offer for my soul.

Your too late. From what I can tell most of society and folks have already done so. They may not realize when it happened..but from the state of the world..it must happen often
and in great numbers..no other explanation!

(hell I'm agnostic and it still rings true) Smiley

So anyway that 'boat has sailed' imho Smiley

5189  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I am sorry to say, Mike Hearn was right. on: December 17, 2016, 10:26:35 AM
Or maybe we could wait and see how things with SegWit goes (even If it doesn't look so good so far) : https://blockchain.info/charts/bip-9-segwit and then decide whether he was right or wrong and I'm sure developers will come up with another plan If it fails.

hmmm..not sure what camp I'm in ..but knowing the BTC holders that I know..and trying to reach consensus....only a 'hard fork' to force everyone on the train may be the only solution.

w/o seg witness no lightning network..but then again if BTC core sees BTC as 'just' a store of value like gold (and price is going up) and want the decentralization from mining ..well

this deadlock could go on another 2 years imho.

sheesh
5190  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Thoughts on Zcash? on: December 17, 2016, 10:22:16 AM
I think too many people was screaming and shouting about zcash and that made it too hyped and led to the big disaster it is now. I will buy some eventually but not before I see it flatline for a few months first.
It will need over a year to get recover about its price. Supply was telling a lot about the future of zcash. It will stay at the low level for some years later. A lot of the big miner was dumping it until the next year in my speculation.

that big miner being the 'founders' and their 20% take the first 4 years.. is my guess (assuming I know how this works correctly...which is debatable)
5191  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: December 17, 2016, 08:49:52 AM
Cool. Just got home to see $793USD.

Hopefully this is the start of a fine weekend.

Looks like it will be at or over 800 by Christmas or sooner Cheesy

5192  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: A4 Drop Card Issues - Jig Reflash Thread on: December 17, 2016, 06:53:20 AM
As soon as I get the jig I will tear down the rigs and get you the pictures.
I was wondering what state you are located.. I think its better to just have the Jig at one place and not ship it around and chance it getting damaged. I am located in MO
OK just checked your profile.I see your in CO.. Any time frame when you will get it?

They told me they shipped it with DHL last night.  So I don't know the ETA yet for the jig to arrive.  If we can get these jigs cloned that would be the best of all worlds if we can do it at a reasonable cost.

Are they still gonna 'open source' this stuff for you guys? Hell with these jigs and such..perhaps you'd have enough info someone could improve the firmware and the SD software too boot
..it's not like (imho) innsilicon is gonna put a lot of effort into this Smiley Just me watching this drama from the bleachers...don't have a unit...and at current LTC prices and their 1900 price
with shipping looking more unlikely Smiley

Innsilicon seems to be following KNC's scrypt and then adding some 'dread' to that process. Perhaps it is a front? KNC China.... Smiley All so very, very familiar. (BFL,KNC,A4's)

Got my unit this evening and have been working to get it setup.  I am using a LEPA 1600 watt PSU, but the 2 units won't start up with it.  I can get the red lights blinking, but when I start the units up, everything just shuts off.  I can start each unit individually, but not sure whats going on when trying to run both.  Any ideas?

you may need 2 psu's even thou it should work with the one...(imho) I have heard of problems like this with titan cubes 1600 psu's should run 4 cubes easy but only could run 2
may be the same thing?

Sadly they need to drop the price down in line with what Bitmain is charging for the S9 if they want to see sales continue.

On the other hand you all may be now in the equivalent KNC Titan twilight zone. 😄

ASSUMING that this last big difficulty hump was the data hall first in line IPO Money
Do you really want any more (assuming you get your fixes) going out in mass
Like toasters?

Heh. You should be wishing for another couple years of flat difficulty like I had.

Uncomfortable an't it? You want more toys. But they are your difficulty doom. 😳

It was mentioned further back in the thread that they would pay lightfoot to perform upgrades in the US.  But it didn't pertain to me so I haven't followed how that developed.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1523298.msg17131771#msg17131771
Yup. At this point they seem to be thinking along the lines of sending some jigs to the US and having customers pass them around instead of swapping the MCUs. That could be one way to do it.

If I was doing reflow work, I'd charge .2 to .25 btc or so per board to swap the mcu's. Reason being:

Takes about 10 minutes to unpack, place, flux, and pre heat a board.
10 minutes to pull the MCU and cool the board down
10 minutes to place the new chip, heat up, and reflow the new component
30 minutes to hook it up and test it to make sure it works then re-box it.

So, hour a board. At .3btc per hour (my hourly billing rate for reflow work) that's a bit of a bargain but I can probably do two boards in parallel on the IR preheater.

For that I would also need a few 1.0 boards from Inno plus a bag of chips to get the process documented and down to a science.

What might make sense is to have the big mining shops get the jigs and reflash their dozens of boards, but the one-two offs send it over here to be swapped. Or they can send me a jig and I'll do it for .1btc per board to cover the time for overhead.

Heh. Under warranty they should be giving customers vouchers you would get paid from at
Your rates. They could then monitor each fix at set price. So much for their warranty on plus minus
Within 10% hash rate and a working unit.

Moot now not worth getting at 1900 usd with shipping as with ltc it is at 3.86 usd at 280mh if you could get
Such it is 141.80 a month at 11c kWh elec lol

Edit: above price mistyped. I meant ltc was at $3.68 usd above.

Inno should be covering the cost to get the miners reflashed.  That is what Chloe indicated in her email.  Hopefully Lightfoot will be hearing from Inno soon.

It might be helpful if someone were to compile a list of locations and number of units that need to be shipped to a central point (Lightfoot?), and back and provide that to Chloe. It's probably pointless getting shipping quotes as I'd assume Inno would use thier DHL discount to keep the costs low.
Haven't heard from them since Saturday, so don't send things to me :-) . My main question to them was how do they intend to fix (hat on the mcu, swap the mcu, reprogram via jtag, reprogram using jig), number of fixes needed per board (one component or several), any traces that need to be laid/landed, and number of boards to figure out if/how/what cost I can do it.

Meantime there are always Titans to fix :-)

For your services they should send you a unit for the a test rig.

Also ask when they are gonna open source as they said. You could pass that info off to gen Tarkin  imho
