521  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Which is the Better Hardware Wallet for Beginners? on: March 26, 2024, 03:04:42 PM
However, if you prioritize advanced security features and affordability, Coldcard could be the preferred choice.
I personally wouldn't put the Coldcard in the affordable category. The Mk4 model costs $158. If you buy it with bitcoin, then you can get a 5% discount. The upcoming Coldcard Q1 was $200 as a pre-order, but this model is still not out for general sale.

My first hardware wallet was a Ledger Nano S but it had very limited and poor support for passphrases which is why later I replaced it with a Trezor.
What was the problem with the passphrase feature of the Nano S. Ledger allows you to access the passphrase-protected accounts in two ways: You can either enter the entire passphrase or connect the passphrase to a secondary PIN. So the next time you unlock your Ledger, you enter the second PIN instead of the primary one. Which option did you use?

I don't know if they look cheapish in hand or not, but I'd still go for one of them over a Coldcard if I was a beginner and those were the only two choices.
Me too. But we get a lot of complaints on the build quality of hardware wallets on this forum. And people are generally not very careful, even with more expensive items like smartphones. The Jade doesn't look to me like a sturdy-enough unit to withstand everyday use. And the price gives it away.

Write to me on Telegram-https://t.me/vad_chenko1
No, thanks. I don't use it. And even if I did, I wouldn't use it to trade with someone I don't know. The only way we could possibly strike a deal is via the forum's PM system.

Im interested for deal this
Thanks for the offer but I am not interested.
523  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Rant-Hardware Wallet Physical Quality on: March 25, 2024, 07:24:18 PM
i do not trust this stuff too.
What stuff exactly?

you can use tangem , ballet or billfodl
Tangem is closed-source. Why would you trust that if you don't trust some other solutions?

Ballet is not a hardware wallet. It falls under the paper wallet category regardless of what material it's made out of. This isn't a trustless solution. Someone else generated your private keys and placed those keys on the cards you buy. You have to trust those people not to do anything nasty, like keeping a copy of all generated private keys. It wouldn't be the first time something like that happened with these sort of things.

And Billfodl isn't a wallet in any type of form. It's a steel plate for backing up your seed phrase.

525  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Which is the Better Hardware Wallet for Beginners? on: March 25, 2024, 04:52:26 PM
My plan is to start with Jade and then upgrade to the Coldcard as i grow and advances in my understanding and involvement with Bitcoin
Starting with Jade isn't a bad idea, but if you want my advice, and I think many other users would agree, I would say that your upgrade should be towards the Foundation Passport instead of the Coldcard. Both are pretty pricey and ship from North America, and you should take that into consideration when you make your decision. I prefer buying such devices from the official shops, but know that you will pay a premium for that depending on where you live.

Dosta ljudi više voli koristiti multi-coin wallete zbog jednostavnosti.

Jel netko drugi probao?

eXch is back online now under the .cx domain. The temporary .pw domain redirects to the .cx domain. I also tested to TOR version of the exchange and it also loads fine. Whatever attack there was, it seems to have been resolved.

@eXch
Last week you made changes to your OP and pointed all links to the .pw domain. Will it remain like that from now on?
528  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: PeachBitcoin.com | P2P Bitcoin Exchange 🍑 #kycfree on: March 25, 2024, 04:25:17 PM
It's a pity that the app has a daily no-KYC exchange limit of around €1,000 forced upon them because of their Swiss regulator. You can, of course, trade more than that in one day, but you have to undergo KYC. I don't think there is a way to "cheat the system" even if you created a second/third account and used new payment methods. Your name and device info would probably give you away, among other things.
529  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: DIY Seed Storage on a soda can on: March 25, 2024, 04:16:54 PM
So are the chances not higher to end up losing the Coins?
Of course, they are. Add any additional complexity to a standard recovery phrase, and you increase the possibility of losing your bitcoin protected with such a system. It doesn't even have to be this complex to get you in trouble. Add a 13th/25th-word passphrase and loss it, and your coins will be gone, unless the passphrase can be bruteforced. Mess up with your multisig, and you'll lock your coins away from yourself. Use a completely random derivation path (for whatever reason) without writing down what you used somewhere, and you have again lost your coins, unless you figure it out.

I'm sure we'll work together great!
You have been on Bitcointalk for almost a decade despite your forum account being newbie. You didn't mention what you have and what your offer is. Send me a PM and let me know. I have already found two users I work with occasionally, but I am always ready to listen to new offers.
531  Economy / Gambling / Re: [Table] Withdrawal Fees and Withdrawal Amounts on Crypto Casinos on: March 25, 2024, 03:57:56 PM
<Snip>
Considering bitcoin's parabolic rise that happened in the last 1-2 months, I would expect that several casinos made changes to their fees and minimum withdrawable amounts. I will have to go through the entire list one day and check them one by one. Thanks for highlighting the changes you noticed.

I see api is working again.
Everything looks fine and loads nicely on my end.
532  Economy / Reputation / Re: Standing Strong Against Unjust Attacks: A Call for Community Support on: March 25, 2024, 02:45:30 PM
Couldn't help but laugh on how this discussion is proceeding after it popped up at the top of my list.
@JackpotRacer You are one of the biggest pieces of shit I have talked to in the last couple of years.

Your not only stupid you are also a stupid Signature Campaign Manager of Blackjack.fun as you think you will get a medal from the scammer Blackjack.fun for attacking me with LIES.
It's not 'your', it's 'you are', you illiterate moron.

Did you forget the huge respect you had for my campaign manager a couple of weeks ago? Remember, when you were kissing his ass, hoping that would get me in trouble? Let me remind you:

To tell you the truth, I am not sure your signature campaign manager will like your very offensive comment about him. I don't like it because he is a very serious campaign manager as far as I can tell.
BTW I wrote him in a very polite way and in normal text color as I respect him and he did not offend me. so no reason to attack him

I removed the childish red color and the bold text that you wrote in. I hope you won't struggle to recognize that this is your writing without it. I bolded the part that shows the "huge amount of respect" you have for him. It's very interesting how it all changed from that to him being a "stupid signature campaign manager." But, hey, that's the way you roll.

A little summary:

1. You tried to get me in trouble with my campaign manager by reporting my posts to him and praising him publicly. You hoped something would happen to me. Nothing happened, you failed.
2. After that ship sailed and he obviously doesn't agree with you, you reverted back to your usual tactic: Call everyone that disagrees with me and doesn't see things my way, signature spammers, stupid, etc.
3. Your latest masterpiece is the most pathetic one so far. You are now trying to stir up drama between icopress and Blackjack.Fun, by saying how his comments are not doing the casino any favors. Are you hoping they will agree with you, and drop him as their campaign manager? Do you really thing that is going to work? Good luck with that, let us know how it goes. Grin

@ineedhelpplease

I am sorry that you have been falsely accused by @icopress

But chapeau for your direct question, because it shows that you have read a lot and understood it very well.

I will check if I have merits and merit you as you are one of not many decent members here.
Oh, look! Praises and candy for someone who agrees with something you said. Who could have seen that coming?

Only use Coldcard if you are a software engineer or very tech savvy unless you want to drive yourself nuts learning to use it.
That's a bit too much. You don't need to be a software engineer to use it. I am not, and I could easily figure it out if I was interested in buying one. You have tutorials online and a bunch of YouTube videos to help you.

Another advantage of Jade is the low price of $50 much cheaper than the others.
Jade costs €62 or around $65. The shipping is not included. If you want to have it shipped and delivered outside of North America from the official store, you are looking at an additional €20-30 + customs and import tax (if applicable) at the destination country. There are 10% discount codes one could use to lower the price slightly.

Jade has  the one undeniable advantage in comparison with Trezor Safe 3. Contrary to the latter Jade can be paired with the software counterpart via QR code which makes it a fully air-gapped device that doesn't require physical connection to online machine.
This is correct, but just to add to what you said. You have to connect it via USB cable or Bluetooth to the Blockstream Green software wallet during the initial installation. That's how you install the firmware. After that, you can work it with QR codes.

Btw, I have never looked into how the Jade's battery is charged. I assume with the supplied charging and data cable that comes in the package. In that case, that's another connection to internet-connected machines.
535  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Can't view any funds in Sparrow Wallet on: March 24, 2024, 08:15:53 AM
I just downloaded Wasabi wallet and Nunchuck wallet no problem setting up and seeing my funds and tx history even from my hidden wallets.
Very quick and easy to set up from Coldcard and everything worked right away. Much easier to use than Sparrow.
Have you imported your seed that you originally generated on Trezor across all these hot wallets you mentioned in your posts? Blue Wallet, Sparrow, Nunchuck, etc.?
What is the end goal here, and what is wrong with your Trezor HW? Did it stop working?

538  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Which is the Better Hardware Wallet for Beginners? on: March 23, 2024, 05:15:59 PM
To be completely honest, I wouldn't consider either of them as beginner-friendly. But if I was forced to choose, I would say Blockstream Jade is more beginner friendly.

The Coldcard is an airgapped wallet. More precisely, it's an offline signer that requires that you import a previously created unsigned transaction from a companion wallet, sign it, export it, and broadcast it through an online wallet. This isn't difficult to learn, but is still slightly more complicated than how a Trezor functions, for example. With a traditional hardware wallet, you create and broadcast transactions on the same device. Coldcard will require that you export and import the master public keys into a hot wallet you will later use for transaction broadcasting.

I prefer the Jade because of its stateless signing capability. It can reset itself after each use, removing all keys from it when you turn it of. Before usage, you can import those same keys with a SeedQR code. The Jade is also cheaper than the Coldcard, and it's open-source. Coldcard is source-verifiable. I think the Coldcard is a better built product while the Jade looks cheapish.
539  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Can't view any funds in Sparrow Wallet on: March 23, 2024, 05:05:42 PM
Let's try to figure out what exactly you have done.
I have never done anything with JSON files, so I don't know what kind of recovery that is.

You currently have a Trezor. Do you have multiple funded bitcoin addresses? Could you check on a blockchain explorer if the coins are still there? You can use Mempool.space for instance.

When you set up your Trezor, you were shown a recovery phrase. Have you imported that recovery phrase into your Coldcard? Did it work? After you do that, you could export your master public key from the Coldcard and import that into Sparrow wallet. That should allow you to see your old balances and generate new receiving addresses. You then have to move PSBTs back and forth from the Coldcard and the Sparrow wallet.

When you imported the JSON file, did Sparrow wallet show any transaction history? Did it show the same addresses you used before with your Trezor? Did it show the same address format you saw before (addresses beginning with 1, 3, or bc1)? Perhaps the issue is a wrong derivation path or something related to the JSON file.
540  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Trezor's Twitter (X) Account Hacked on: March 23, 2024, 04:39:20 PM
I've never had an account of mine "hacked" (false term, social engineering is far more accurate) and TBH, I don't even understand why is SIM/SMS relevant with 2FA apps such as Google Authenticator.
Yes, it's not a real hack in the traditional sense of the world. The PR representative was tricked into clicking on a link that looked like some kind of calendar entry meant to schedule an interview between the impersonator and Trezor's CEO. Whoever it was, they gave the trickster account access on a platter. Trezor has also stated that they didn't use SMS for 2FA, but a more secure method (not that it helped in this scenario).
