I feel you. I actually have loss in my investments in other cryptocurrenies. I just hold it for now and hoping that it will be bounce back to a higher price but it looks like nothing happens. For now, since it is loss, you better to hold it for now. I know that this will take too long. Right now, that is paper loss but when you withdraw it, sad to say, that is actual loss. So better to hold and wait until the price gets high.

That's a good idea to do both and good thing that you are aware about your monthly income. Having a job and trading is a good combination. While having fixed income per month at the same time you do trading in Bitcoin as another source of income. You can put some of your salary like 10% or more to buy Bitcoin and make it grow. But as of now, the price is high so you have to wait a bit to get this price lower.

Why? because you cannot say what will happen the following days or months if the prices will either go up or down. It is very risky and the rates are flactuating. As of right now my plan with my Bitcoin is to keep my local currency in my wallet until the price ot Bitcoin will go down. Becuase cannot but right now because it's too high. When the prices are falling that's the time you need to buy. Buy-Low and Sell-High. However, if the currency other than Bitcoin is looks like inactive and still falling, you better to hold it and wait until it rises. I value Bitcoin as another source of income aside from my monthly salary. Bitcoin also helps me to pay my monthly bills like electricity, water, insurance or even fund transfer to other people without hassle. Bitcoin also helps me to learn this modern type of investments which also I can share to my family, relatives and loved ones.

As of today's Bitcoin rate, it is better to sell it because I think thay this is the highest rate of Bitcoin. But before you sell it, you better to read new about the forecast if this will get higher for the next week or month. You only need to buy if the price is low.

I plan to sell if the rate or graph of the Bitcoin goes high. And sometime you really need to read the forecast if the value of Bitcoin will go higher or reach it's highest value. But when you notice if the trend is going down and before it really goes down, you really need to sell it.
