You do realise that the majority of the problems you describe are created by constant warfare and currency devaluation right?

We've welcomed people from all over the world, our nation is built on the backs of immigrant workers, we live in peace and harmony with one another, different races and different cultures, we have accepted and embraced them as our own, Americans.
Now our nation is trillions of dollars in debt, with millions of Americans living below the poverty line who rely on government assistance to survive, veterans who fought for our country are dying for lack of care from the government and people they fought to protect, and our school system is failing due to lack of funding, this is not the time for our nation to add more burden to its weight, this is not the time to welcome people who enter in our nation illegally and spend billions of dollars caring for them.
This view does not make me a racist.
I have friends from every race, nor do I care the races of those that enter our country illegally.
I believe in one thing, and that is to do what is right for this nation and its people, and spending billions of dollars, money that we have to borrow to spend, in aid to illegal immigrants is not good for our nation.
Our efforts and financial resources must be focused on improving the lives of our own citizens first, not those who come from other countries, illegally.
Americans First.

I agree with this. It's all a misdirected blame game. While government spending continually goes up and incomes go down then someone needs to be the bad guy. How about the person with the shiny car instead of the politician? http://iowahawk.typepad.com/iowahawk...ion-a-day.htmlGovernment spending as a percentage of GDP hasn't really dramatically increased. It is about The same as it was under Reagan. and? Continually increasing federal debt (currently $17,833,481,663,000) is a good thing. I forgot. Why don't we simply double down? It's not like the "rich" and evil CEO's can even afford to pay off what we borrow yearly anyway. We can use that additional credit to give more to the poor.

By the time I get to the age to receive any benefits from it, it will probably be crumbling apart or gone altogether. Yet 20% of my income gos to it. Thanks Obama.

Yes. What do you think? It has already failed. Now it's just time to watch the crash. In support of privatizing it. Or allowing a "private option" for those people who don't trust the government with their money any longer....
Must make everyone give up their wealth! It's for the safety of the children! Think of the children! Would this private option include required participation in some kind of program?

Okay Michelle Obama, show what your worth! Will you stand up and fight for millions of women who are being ravaged by misogyny? Or will you be petulant and weak, just like your husband?
Every time you talk about ISIS, I ask the same thing - what do you think we should be doing about them that we are not? Do you want us to go to war again? I find ISIS to be deplorable in the things they do. But we created this problem in Iraq when we invaded under false pretenses and deposed the stable - albeit tyrannical - government there. Under Saddam Hussein's government, women had a hell of a lot more rights than they have under the radical Islamic faction called ISIS. Stop blaming liberals for the mess your President created. We have had troops in Korea, Japan, Germany, Italy, etc., for 60+ years to keep the peace, and it has worked. Whether we should have gone into Iraq or not is irrelevant. We did go in, and we won. If Obama had kept a similar contingency force there, this would not be happening, but he's both incompetent and politically minded, so he refused to listen to his military leaders and diplomats who warned him that this would happen. Blaming Bush is a 'two wrongs make a right' logical fallacy, and a red herring. The decision to leave and pull out all the troops was Obama's and Obama's alone, so he is solely responsible for the consequences of his decision to leave Iraq unprotected.

Judge in Australia says incest may no longer be a taboo and the only reason it is criminal is potential birth abnormalities, which can be solved by abortionA judge in Australia has been criticised after saying incest may no longer be a taboo and that the community may now accept consensual sex between adult siblings. Judge Garry Neilson, from the district court in the state of New South Wales, likened incest to homosexuality, which was once regarded as criminal and "unnatural" but is now widely accepted. He said incest was now only a crime because it may lead to abnormalities in offspring but this rationale was increasingly irrelevant because of the availability of contraception and abortion. "A jury might find nothing untoward in the advance of a brother towards his sister once she had sexually matured, had sexual relationships with other men and was now 'available', not having [a] sexual partner," the judge said. "If this was the 1950s and you had a jury of 12 men there, which is what you'd invariably have, they would say it's unnatural for a man to be interested in another man or a man being interested in a boy. Those things have gone." http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/australiaandthepacific/australia/10958728/Australian-judge-says-incest-may-no-longer-be-a-taboo.html What can we image from people like this? What kind of culture and tradition they have? Maybe they have been raped in their first age and they want to recollect the abuse they have had.

The beginning of time maybe. Caveman Era. I've always wanted to know how humanity began and progressed through time. It'd be awesome to see it with my own eyes.

I think that this is a hoax. The ISIS / ISIL is composed of fighters from all around the world, including regions where the Female Genital Mutilation is practiced (such as Somalia, Egypt and Sudan), as well as those from regions where it is not practiced (such as Chechenya and Uzbekistan). Since the latter group is having a majority, this will never be carried out.
The 'religion of peace' strikes again. And there you have it. Bush created ISIS. What is islam doing to stop ISIS from murdering, rioting and now mutilation?

Obama/democrats forced through a law that everyone knew couldn't work, and now that it's not working Obama is trying to change the law on the fly and democrats with hopes of getting re-elected are running from it and him.
He's the president of the greatest country in the world. Elected properly by the Constitution/electorate of the United States of America. I honestly don't mind if He breaks a few local, state, national, and/or international law(s), if he thinks it is in the best interest of the USA. I say give the Man the benefit of the doubt, and assume he's not a mastermind evil genius plotting to take away our rights and liberties.

Simple question: Can you give me a good reason why we should not delay fines associated with the affordable care act given the troubles we had with the website and the initial misjudgements in terms of how long it would take the system to adjust outside of "it's the law!"?
Simple question: give that that was just one symptom of how shitty the law is, can you give me one good reason why the dates should have been delayed rather than the law cancelled altogether?

If the president isn't going to follow the law he passed, why should anyone follow any law?
That's like suggesting that if a judge decided to take extenuating circumstances into consideration and reduced punishment for a crime that would normally legally warrant death that such a move would automatically encourage lawlessness. History shows that lenience under the right circumstance is actually very important for social stability. I agree with 7960, the circumstances are nothing alike. If the law allows the judge discretion in sentencing or to consider mitigating circumstances, then it is OK. What Obama is doing is more like a judge ignoring a mandatory minimum sentence to impose what he feels is more just. That judge would be reversed on appeal and maybe censured. So in other words you can't come up with a reason outside of "it's the law" either. I'm not very familiar with the case, but couldn't he just pass an executive order on the issue? I understand the valid concern of the preservation of legal institutions and rule of law, but 7960s motives have nothing to do with concern for others.

The irony is, all these modern methods of execution were probably conceived of to appease the anti-death penalty crowd. No they moan about how long it takes. Would you be happier if we went back to hanging or firing squads? If so, say so.

I don't get the opportunity to watch much TV. I liked the first season of Person of Interest. Jim Caviezel is a very fine actor. Haven't seen any of it this year. Northern Exposure is a favorite. Very quirky characters similar to the eccentric folks I knew when I lived in the N California mountains. The greatest TV comedy series of all time only ran for 6 episodes: Police Squad, In Color! It was the ancestor of the Naked Gun movies but I liked the TV actors better than those in the films. The Brits do great comedy. My favorite is Fawlty Towers with John Cleese. And the Black Adder series with Rowan Atkinson is brilliant. I really loved a Canadian mockumentary about a junior hockey team, The Tournament. It was too funny!

I should also point out I think it will be very chaotic if the infighting in the House of Saud starts while Obama is still in power. Perhaps it's bias, but I don't think he has a game plan to take advantage of events to edge towards an outcome most beneficial to the US. No one could guarantee one, of course. How much influence do you think ANY US president would have in an internal struggle among the Al Sauds and the internal religious institutions? Do you honestly think that we'll really have any significant say in the end there regardless of who is in office? Our public backing of any individual candidate in Saudi Arabia is more likely to hurt them domestically than help them. In order to come out on top, any Prince in likely going to need to court the religious institutions and being a friend of the US isn't likely to help with that. This is an interesting response, and telling in a way. You're asking me how much "say" the US will have. The answer if Obama is president is virtually none, because I doubt he has any plans. However, like or hate him, Bush would have had plans. And they would be based on the interests of the current leaders, simply because he did have a relationship there. Is that a guarantee of anything? Of course not. But he would have had an opportunity. Which is about all you can have, non militarily. Now I'm confident we both know that a direct endorsement of any candidate would backfire. But that is the same in any country. If Israel directly endorsed any candidate, it would probably destroy their chances. If any other country did, it would have the same result. That's elementary and pointless to even mention, so I'm surprised you mentioned it. I find it telling in the sense that the likely reason you did is that you believe Obama to be unprepared for it also.
