521  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] MON | Monocle | Merge Mined on VTC Vertcoin - No Premine - Scrypt-N on: May 02, 2014, 08:38:25 PM
Everyone don't panic about not receiving payments. Remember, P2Pool usually takes 1-5 hours for payments (depending on 1st,2nd,3rd) and payments continue to hit your wallet 1-5 hours after you stop mining.

Regardless of the frequency of payouts, it should average out.

1 MON every 10 hours = 1 MON per 10 hours
.1 MON x 1 hour = 1 MON per 10 hours

Yes and please bear in mind the payouts system in place is VERY temporary and provisional - it's kind of an ugly kludge (as grateful as I'm sure we all are to Erik for all his hard work to get it done in such limited time) but the real goal has to be to get a proper, multi-sharechain p2pool implementation that can handle merge coins properly asap. If anyone fancies contributing!

Can i see any stats if i am connectet to port 9555

i am a bit confused because i can not see my vert adress here -  http://p2pool.vtcpool.co.uk:9171/static/

I looks like every thing works now on http://192.168.2.70:9174/static/  For merged mining connect to http://192.168.2.70:9555
This is VERTCOIN NET 3.

I will have to check that payouts work like they should. Will monitor as much as I can.

Right now 1 MON is immature. And I guess we need to find a block in net 3 to see if VTC works right.

where are you located ?
523  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] MON | Monocle | Merge Mined on VTC Vertcoin - No Premine - Scrypt-N on: May 02, 2014, 05:50:10 PM
Could you explain how to mining solo
Step by Step

and what should be added to the configuration file

Thank you  Wink

Hi,

Solomining _only_ MON will be exactly the same with any other coin - add rpcuser and rpcpassword to the config file then connect your miner with those credentials.

Hi, could you post an example .conf file, and how it should look like?
Not anything fancy, just want to see how it should be put inside the file. Thx.
See page 6 or 7. I posted.
i think mining solo in the beginning wonīt be that big thing. Reward starts at 1.0 and increases over the next hours to full reward

Dark and Hiro (X11 coins) are so much unprofitable so why should a multipool join DRK

Yes, and also they can mine X11 coin like drk. Super iīll order 10. I am sure they can also mine the new not yet announced Hash0815 algo  Grin

Denial is the first stage of grief.

I have lost soo much money on VTC, it doesnīt matter to me.
I am sure if you order there you will lost much more than me
529  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [PRE-ANN] - The WhiteCoin Foundation - Community Planning & Discussion on: April 30, 2014, 07:42:48 AM
So what is the deal with posts about Mintpal delisting the coin. No deposit address. Either trade what you have in exchange or withdrawl them out. They carry like 85% of WC volume. Will that move to Cryptsy?

Mintpal is halting the coin. This is getting crazy.

Devs are touting how all these great things are happening... But MINTPAL HANDLES 90% OF WHITECOIN VOLUME!

Here is a link to MintPals Tweet - https://twitter.com/mintpalexchange/status/460266430819475456

I'm sorry but if they've halted all deposits and Withdrawls, meanwhile Devs are saying "Everything is Fantastic" = Something is Very VERY wrong!

If Mintpal takes the next step and halts trading, with a delisting happening, the coin is delisted, all orders will be stopped and coins could be stuck in Mintpal until the Devs fix whatever Mintpal says is seriously wrong... And those who own will just have to wait and watch the coins tumble on other exchanges before being able to withdrawl.

Never seen anything like this before.

He trys to shake out your coins. Use the ignore Button on this guy

The development of a Scrypt-N miner means that algo is doomed. X11 will be the main answer to ASICs (for the time being).

No, thea are also able to mine X11 as DRK and the new not yet announced Hash0815 algo  Grin
Super machine, sell all you DRK

ALSO: WE HAVE SECRETLY BEEN WORKING TO IMPLEMENT SUPPORT FOR SCRYPT-N SUPPORT UP TO N=16384!!!  We have been successful and now our ASIC is capable of mining any Scrypt-N coins such as Vertcoin

Assuming very low diff on MON at launch. I can mine it for a couple of hours solo and then switch to merged-mining pool.
I'll miss a lot only if with every MON block I also get VTC block, but I am sure it does not work in this way. Am I missing something?

Hi Sammy,

Yeah with each MON block you don't necessarily get a VTC block, although when merge mining if your hash meets both the VTC target _and_ the MON target difficulties, then that hash is both a VTC and MON block.

So, like you said, you don't miss a ton by solo-ing MON for a couple of hours at launch.

You can solo it using the wallet just like any other coin. Starting difficulty is higher than the normal 0.00024414 that is typically used, for MON the starting difficulty is 2.0

also we start with a increasing block reward on beginning

Mintpal : voted once again

That's unbelievable how some from-beyond-coins can be so high in the table.

This voting does say more about the business ethics of mintpal than about the importance of vertcoin  Shocked

Once there is a significant volume increase they will list it outside their voting system like they did with WC, AC and Cinni.
Only bittrex and poloniex volume made them list these coins.
Once a week they list now a coin users are willing to pay for get listed their coin.

The question is .. what will it do to the price of VTC....

I think nobody can answer this question. VTC price is on the downside since weeks and i have no idea why.
Mining VTC on power cost is within EU impossible ( let me know if you have other experiance and where it is still possible )
If we have now a coin ontop that is also exchangable maybe miners dump more VTC, mabe they hold, maybe they only dump monocle,
maybe ....

With upcomming scrypt asics ( and already on the networks ) VTC should do much better, but ...

Cryptoworld is getting more and more only playing lottery.
536  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][DRK] DarkCoin | First Anonymous Coin | First X11 | First DGW | ASIC Resistant on: April 28, 2014, 12:52:02 PM
I think people are selling darkcoin to move into dogecoin because of the halvening!
Not really. The last halving didn't do anything.

Halving could result a lost of nethash. As WC has halved one hour later Nethash also halved.

Doge nethash wonīt half, but where to go with you scrypt rig ?
537  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][DRK] DarkCoin | First Anonymous Coin | First X11 | First DGW | ASIC Resistant on: April 28, 2014, 12:48:02 PM

So what's everyone's predictions for the near future? Waiting to see some movement due to RC2 release? Going to try and short DRK?

If you have enough, try to short and buy back later. I had no luck with playing these games.

Whitecoin. What to expect in next few days. Turbulence. Be aware and prepare!

I want to let everyone know that once the new wallet comes online and exchanges allow deposits, we should expect a dump. Weak hands, scared, emotionally influenced, and impatient people will sell. Depending on price when open trading resumes will dictate how massive the dump will be. Some will wait for the price to rise and then dump. Trolling will probably start up again too. Not to worry and all is 100% expected. Whether you sell or not is up to you.

We have mobile wallets in the mix now too, currently being developed. Those who will hold their coins will be rewarded. Even if we only see 3k satoshi, everyone who has WC wins. Of course we aim higher, MUCH higher Smiley

Seattletu..... I'm so sorry bro! I feel so bad! I could cry for you! You are good people! Call cops! $22,000. Felony? your chances are better since large amounts involved. See if there were cameras watching the area around where your shit was stolen. Witnesses. etc etc. I have the address from where you sent me that lil bit if you need it. And I got 150 WC for you if you want it... Wink

I have to back this up.  I believe in WC and am currently holding, not selling.  However, the new wallet will likely be released within hours, or any minute for that matter. WC holders need to be aware:

All transactions of WC in and out of exchanges has been halted for 36 hours.  Meaning the only ones trading are people who already had their coins in the exchange.

The SECOND the wallet is released and WC holders can transfer their coins into the exchanges, there will no doubt be a massive, massive influx of coins hitting the market.

The buy support is already thin.  I ran these estimates on BitcoinWisdom using the trade estimator. Be aware of this folks!

If we see at 15 Million influx of coins to Mintpal, the price to liquidate those will drop to roughly 611, based on current buy orders.  In all likelihood the price will drop lower, as buyers seeing the drop will pull their buy orders expecting a lower price. 15 Million WC is only 5% of the Market Cap.

If we see 30 Million coins, or 10% of the market cap hit the market, in order for those buyers to sell the price would crash to 98. That's right- 98.

I am willing to bet that only a very small percentage, perhaps 20% or less, is actually in the exchanges at the moment.  Meaning 80% is in lockdown, and as soon as the wallet is released no doubt a lot of nervous traders will be moving their coins to sell. I don't feel my predictions, or estimates of 5 and 10% are overstated. They could very well be underestimated and the fall out far worse.

I am not posting this to cause a panic.  But panic and massive sell offs as soon as the wallet is released is very likely to happen, I just think everyone should be aware of what we are likely to see this morning.

The price will hopefully recover as the development team has been and will be hard at work fixing the bugs and promoting this coin.

But an exodus of mass proportion is on the horizon. What you decide to do is up to you.

Me? I think I may just log off for a few days... And try not to watch. Although I doubt I'll be able to have the willpower to do so.

Strato

A few hours ago you posted into DRK threat to support and buy WC. Whatīs now . Do you want to shake out WC from people here ?

Diff is too high, price is too low better buy it than mine

where do you come from ? What do you pay for 1 kwh power
540  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][DRK] DarkCoin | First Anonymous Coin | First X11 | First DGW | ASIC Resistant on: April 28, 2014, 06:48:34 AM
The miners now competition is fierce, income is not very high.

Of course...network power has more than doubled recently

NetHash is around 28GH. Thats only around 9-10 GH of scrypt hashpower.

So all i understand is that the reward goes down with higher diffculty. If reward goes down and you have to share
it with more users your reward is going down much more than on coins that donīt use dgw.

On current reward and powercost of my mining rig i can buy x2 more coins than mining them.
There should be not a lot of countries in EU you can mine DRK cheaper than buy them.
