So what's the news on vtc?

The new merge-mineable chain MON (Monocle), released by the VTC dev team goes live this coming Friday. More details at https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=585817

For everyone else watching the MON news, please re-read the OP which has now had more details added to it.

P2pool node operators who wish to give their users and extra incentive to mine with them by adding MON merged-mining should also check out the MON OP and subscribe to the node operators mailing list so we can contact you over the next few days to get the pool-side software and HOWTO to you in plenty of time before release.

Node operators who sign up to the list will also receive an encrypted tarball of the source early, with passwords released at launch, so you can have everything ready as soon as possible on launch day.

Vertans,

Just an FYI that the Sovereign Share Vertcoin Pool just went live. Who, What is Sovereign Share you might ask? The creator of a highly secure - arguable the most secure - encryption protocol to date.

Why choose the Sovereign Share VTC Pool?

1. GoDaddy SSL with root domain (https://sovereignshare.com) EV SSL verified. We are a legitimate company looking to support this alt currency.
2. Relatively low mining fee: 1%
3. Hardened server

It's very new, so there is a lot of room to grow. Love the progression Vertcoin has made in the alt coin space. Hope to see it continue to flourish!

Feel free to email vtc@sovereignshare.com with comments or suggestions.

Cheers,

Sovereign Share LLC

PS: While your at it, download the Sovereign Share Android app and start encrypting your private communications. Windows client available as well. It's free and extra attention to privacy is important these days.

Windows Client (must register to DL): http://sspriv.at

Is it possible some miners were pre-configured for launch day ? private gpu miners ? almost every coin does that and if they say they don't their fucking lying.
Did VTC botnets get fired up ? maybe but that is not what that moron was saying.. he was dramatizing and slandering this coin over normal activity seen on all coins.

tired of stupid noobs crying instamine..
but i have complained on almost every coin when they pull gpu miners etc out of their ass long after the coin was released.. that scammy routine gets old.

short reply from me, the guy who released vertminer.

Yes, i had a GPU miner ready at ~17.00 GMT and i mined with 2x 7950.
At 23.00 or 24.00 GMT i decided to spread this to the IRC channel because no pools or GPU miner was public available.
During the next hours there was a massive community support to compile this for windows (many thanks to Aleks) and to setup the first pools so everyone could mine VTC with a GPU miner.
-> a GPU miner + Pools was available for everyone within 24 hours after coin launch, not days or even weeks later.

And as you can see, with 2x 7950s it was not real possible to make such a hugh amount of coins. Believe it or not, i am not even in the Top10.

I do not know who the other guys or groups are, but i am sure this was no one from the dev team (e.g. i have send some VTC to Bushido because he only had a Laptop to mine...)

I know this statement will not stop the FUD but at least everyone can read it and think about the bullshit from IPO and/or premined coin guys.

thanks for taking the time to speak.. appreciated.

Bufius explained it very well and you can backcheck that with the history, which is all in the thread. There were also quite a few of us openly discussing Vertcoin on freenode IRC after they shared the program with everyone.

Do we have much Chinese PR?

Someone made this thread a long time ago (long time ago in the Cryptoworld, at least). https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=443393.0

You can share it elsewhere or reply to the thread if you know Chinese. I don't know if that part of bitcointalk is very active, or if this thread was translated properly.

This new site http://www.coingecko.com/ is comforting me, Vertcoin is pretty strong even if I would have thought that Vertcoin had a better ranking in developers

I will definitely be watching that site. Pretty sure it will be the major reference in the near future.
Thanks for sharing.
Only in one area Vtc is relative week which is less important its liquidity so if We add it on mintpal they have huge volumes(about 2000 btc per day trading) and low fees 0.15% it will add huge liquidity  . We will be right after BTC ,LTC,DOGE which are 4th place so VTC and seems most undervalued crypto.
For adding on minpal keep voting
https://www.mintpal.com/voting. if You don't have account register do some 0.001 btc (5 usd) trade and You can vote 5 times each hour.

Adding it will be just a matter of time I expect. We won't be helping with that if it happens.

Of course there's also nothing stopping someone setting up a "MON only" traditional MPOS pool (the wallet daemon can be mined in directly without also mining vtc at the same time), but the incentive to do so would be small.

That's unbelievable how some from-beyond-coins can be so high in the table.

This voting does say more about the business ethics of mintpal than about the importance of vertcoin  Shocked
