Interesting times, seems like NXT ia coming down hard. It would be good to have opportunity to launch similar tokens in counterparty AE and opportunity to buy tokens with BTC.
IMO NXT seems to be too volatile and certainly weak coin in terms of liquidity.

I think 6 months mining period is the greatest advantage for EXO in longterm and I am sure in shortterm too. If you are in IPO and really trust in EXO then just start mining. There is many folks who want EXO and missed IPO. Next 6 months is just another form of IPO.
This is best start in crypto I've ever seen.
I believe that many miners starts mining from the beginning.

Why mining at all?
Do we really need it to secure the network? I donīt think so.
Maybe if the community votes against mining devs would change their mind.
do you think it need a vote ? its a joke, any investors would agree with it. mining it the key inovation for eXocoin, or else it like other 2rd coin, use other or same language implement the function like NXT. you cannot change it, just accept it. Why should mining be an innovation? Totally agree, mining is not innovation. Mining is one of distribution ways. Second is IPO. Mining was good if Ipo collect 10-20 btc. For 300 btc mining will kill investors hopes. Maybe make it POW/POS for more investors friendly. We could make poll for percentage of mining. I dont think so that it will harm investors, if the mining start 2-3 weeks after launch and multipools and asic cannot work properly, that should only bring attention and new users etc. There are still many guys who believe in POW over POS. Of course it would be nice to reduce % of mining and give the rest to the investors. |

What i understood about mining in this case, it is the first time when you can mine straight from to your client and dev have developed new algo etc, so that is a innovation.

Maybe what Gimre really meant was: Alpha: testnet
Beta: most likely REAL thing
This makes sense as I remember reading posts saying the beta will be the 'launch'. Hopefully our mutual confusion will be cleared up by a dev. Alpha = 100% testnet and monopoly money. Beta = Likely to be in the testnet for the first phase and then move to the main-net (with real stake and coins). It is still undecided whether nemesis block is on launch day or in beta. It doesn't make much difference imo. NEM Beta will include some special features. Even NEM open Alpha will likely include special features that are not in other coin's launch. For example: NIS codes for secure messaging have been completed and just need GUI to be on Open Alpha. Secure messaging is not even in Nxt NOW 9 month after the coin launch. Talk about the difference between one system's alpha and the other system's so-call advanced stage. NEM beta will include features that have never been in any other system. What are they ? We cannot tell you because the codes are not completed and there are some uncertainty in the implementation. However, there will be at least one special feature moving from NEM Alpha to NEM Beta. The current NEM roadmap is alpha -> beta -> release -> v1 completion AlphaThe alpha will be launching soon and will have many of the announced NEM features. The goal of the alpha is to show everyone what we've been working on the last few months and let them play with it and give feedback. Most importantly, it should be a starting point for other developers to build on top of NEM. Yep, over 1500 email accounts have been verified to get EXO, but if they get their coins instantly they gonna dump HARD. So could someone contact EXO-dev team and mention that problem and give advice who to change that? We should have some good promotion before the launch, but i think EXO will be big thing if they met their promises and client running stable. Any news about exchanges in launch? Could it be good to hire some PR person ? |
