Yea, I was expecting a big day. I had a feeling people were telling their family members, over the thanksgiving holiday, that GBTC was an easy to get into Bitcoin. The GBTC I bought back in July 2015 is up 4,300%. I never expected such gains so fast in an IRA. Crypto gains for the last 18 months have been fantastic, cheers! |

Unlike the previous bubbles it took us all year to get to $10,000. It was a slow and steady rise.

As the price rises, I find it harder to let go of my moneros. I would feel much better spending them when the price is somewhere between $800-$1,000!  |

Someone should make a thread where we guess exact prize. I am quite certain price will go over USD ATH before the end of the year. If it will go beyond to $200 is also possible but that is not so sure thing anymore. If it will stay above $200 on Dec.31? I would give 25% chance to that. I doubt XMR will spend any time in the $200 range. The price will creep toward $150 before exploding all the way to $300, and then peak near $425 by mid December. With all the money pouring into cryptos I don't see why not, especially this coin. Monero looks ultra-bullish right now, so many good things happening around Monero! |

This is way off topic but I have bitcoin paper wallets that I want to split the bcash from and buy more monero. Whats the best way to go about doing this?
https://github.com/Bitcoin-ABC/bitcoin-abc and have fun downloading the full bitcoin blockchain, then just import your private keys. You don't need to sync. Move Bitcoin to new addresses, then import old private keys in electrum cash wallet. Just wanted to be clear; When I move my coins from a paper wallet, I should move it to a new paper wallet or an exchange like coinbase? Then I import the old private keys to https://electroncash.org/?Either choice will work. New paper wallet is more secure. Unless you plan to trade, I'd avoid an exchange. Bitcoin borned new universe where time counted in blocks. And it is only Level 1 of new financial system OSI model. Are you concerned in block size? Then you should know that Ethernet has Maximum Transfer Unit of a packet of only 1500 bytes. But TCP/IP doesnt care about this. Long live Lightening!
If one were to extrapolate data from when masterluc last posted in this thread (Jan 16, 2017 around $800) then we can expect a price of $65,721 around September 2018. Get your wallets ready. |

I doubt the amount because guys like TheKoziTwo were involved earlier than Risto. He created the first Monero exchange and was in a much better position to acquire a such a large amount, but IIRC he indicated he had less than half of that. Buying 700k coins during that time on the open market doesn't seem possible without a massive price run (which never really happened. USD high post Mintpal pump was like $3). And I doubt he was making any significant OTC purchases either. The community wasn't that big at the time.
EDIT: back to speculation. If XMR breaks $110 this week we will be on target to $425 by December.
I'm curious how you arrive at that figure. Has it really been pulled from somewhere the sun don't shine or is there a rational basis for it? It's a very rough assumption based on past market runs. Monero went from about $3 to $15 last year (5x increase), from about $12 (March 10th) to a high of $60 earlier this year (5x increase), then from $30 on July 16th to $150 (5x increase). So if our last strong support was at $85 then I'm predicting our next 5x run will bring us to $425, which should happen no later than December 15th (45 day interval). EDIT: Also, the Nov. 1st 2016 run from $4 to $18.5 almost fits the pattern. According to that data, we should hit several thousand dollars next year. |

Can someone tell me what's the deal with alt coins? Are they holding their $ value? Or is it as bad as it looks?
Theyre holding their fiat value and LTC is actually UP %15 today. |
