For anyone wondering, if the list I've been making is correct, there are still 181 valid numbers to go.

We might be here for months. Grin

Well, 180 with the guess above me.
524  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Official CaVirtex.com Thread on: April 02, 2014, 08:50:37 AM
CAVIRTEX just threw the word in to make them look better.

While somewhat concerning and disappointing, that alone doesn't justify the degree to which you are freaking out.

They are registered with FINTRAC as an MSB, as we all know.

Using a mailbox as a business address is not unusual in Canada, as was also pointed out to you.

The fact that anyone can register with FINTRAC, even you, doesn't mean you will meet all the obligations and remain a 'member in good standing' if you will.

Are you serious? After I blast FINTRAC with pics of the virtex site and then copies of text from here they will no longer be registered.

MAILBOX is fine.. BUT THEY SHOULd STILL HAVE A REAL ADDRESS...ok.. I'll concede that one. Care to explain the work from home CS reps? How about all the fake names? what about the LIES about a license that does not exist.

If you want to trust an exchange who acts like a lemonade stand more then a real business be my guest!

I want to make sure everyone understands how grave an issue this is though and I'll follow up with FINTRAC in the morning.

Holy crap, settle down a bit!  You want to make everyone understand, but coming across like raving lunatic isn't helping your case. At the end of the day, who are you? Why should we trust your motives?

You say we should use vault of satochi, what makes them anymore trustworthy?

It looks more and more that NO-ONE can be trusted when it comes to Bitcoin. I really hope I'm wrong, because if I'm not, it will be the death of Bitcoin. Human greed will win again.

Well if my list is correct there are roughly 250 numbers that have not been guessed yet.

wow, there are only around 750 unique guess in these 1400 posts?
So, on average, each number has been guessed almost twice lol.

Pretty much. I stopped keeping track of the amount of duplicate guesses, it started to take to much time. There are lots of numbers that I see pop up and automatically know they've been tried since I've seen them pop up so many times.

As numismatics has stated, 666 has been guessed 10 times so far, I'm sure there are a lot more close to that.

410

531  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: people buying used miners on: March 28, 2014, 09:55:31 PM
I am a noob to mining and I am have been reading.  I first started reading about the block eruptors and thought it would have been a cool setup but then thought twice about it when I read somewhere on here if you are not mining upwards of 200 Gh/s it isnt worth it.  Then I fgured the cost of making a rig that would put out that kind of power with eruptors and the cost isnt worth it.  So I found the Antminer S1 Dual Blade.  I see them around $700.  I was wondering for anyones opinion on this machine actually making its money back with say litecoin and a rate of .08 Kw/h electricity costs.  I was trying to use one of the calculators I found but I wasnt sure I was entering the correct info.  Thanks in advance.

You can't mine Litecoin with an antminer S1. Litecoin is a scrypt coin and the S1 can only mine SHA-256 coins. As for making your money back mining Bitcoin, not likely.

i dont know why not all my post don't count as activity..

Activity is based on how long you are a member for the most part, not how many posts you make.

It's explained here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=177133.0

No activity troll. Let it die. They feed on attention and will starve without it.

Lol, nah. I'm just a lurker. Been here since late 2011 and made a name last spring to contact someone. I saved this thread to come back and make fun of later cause it was just too good of a chance to pass up.

The moon was already achieved, for those of us who got in early enough. Looks like you got in around november, thanks for getting me to the moon.

That makes you even more of an asshole.   You must be a real small person if you need to make yourself feel better by making fun of other peoples misfortunes.  Remember, karma can be a real bitch, and it's likely to slap you in the head eventually.

lol this thread is great. Op is in the poor house, place, right now. No house to be poor in....

Yeah its hilarious the man is out a lot of money right now.  It's no wonder there is no hope for humans going forward when so many laugh at other peoples misfortunes.

I agree, these timeouts are really annoying. It seems that there have been more the last few days. Before that everything seemed to run more smoothly.
Are these caused by DDoS attacks?

The forum was fine for me up until today.  Maybe it's because of the amount of users logged in right now?  With the price crashing right now I could see a lot more people logging in wanting to see whats going on.

Considering the price of Bitcoin right now, they may be removing it very quickly.

They probably use bitpay or coinbase, it doesn't affect them.

Still a bit of a noob when it comes to this, can you explain how it doesn't affect them?

Bitpay and coinbase, instantly converts bitcoins to dollars, so they are always get the same amount of dollars instead of bitcoins. Bitcoin is just being a medium of transferring wealth. So if for argument sake we say 1 BTC = $5 and I buy $5 worth of tokens using bitcoin it would cost me 1 BTC. Then 20 mins later it takes 2 BTC = $5 and I buy $5 worth of tokens with bitcoins it would cost me 2 BTC. They are still getting $5 but it costing a different amount of bitcoins, they are taking no risk.

That makes sense to me know, thanks for the explanation.

540  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: people buying used miners on: March 27, 2014, 11:23:30 PM
Well most miners could be considered used. I'm not sure why people buy from ebay while they are cheaper in China. Yes it takes longer but  is +50% price justifying few days of delay? Maybe if the seller is from your country and in the end you don't pay VAT...

For some people it is a lot more convenient to pay with a credit card than it is to pay with Bitcoin.  For some, buying coin isn't all that easy. It's also a way for people to buy equipment without having the money up front.  It's not a smart way to do it, but thats how a lot of people use credit cards.  Buy now, pay for it later.
